Terra had bought herself a slave for the day, but she had no CLUE what a slave was supposed to do. In fact, the more they went, the more obvious that fact became. "The market is this way, senor Kiwi!" she said, pointing to the left as they reached the town. "I asked senorita Xiu, she says their food is always the best!"

She had plans, okay? She was going to make them a massive dinner! And then they would come back... "But perhaps we should go to the movie BEFORE we have the dinner?" she said. "Since we are out here already? Then we will go to the market, and back to el dormitorio to enjoy our feast!"

Kiwi could tell the ghoul herself seemed a little at a loss. He thought he'd at least attempt to help. "Ah, that sounds fine. And while we're shopping, I'll carry anything if need be." Though to be honest, he still wasn't quite certain what a movie was, and didn't really know what to expect.

"Then we must go to the maul!" she said, tugging him to the right again. "I do not know what his playing, but we will look and pick from the pictures on the wall!" she told him, heading for the maul. She tugged him through the automatic door and headed for the escalator.

"You must stand still on the steps," she told him--having learned from her own experiences. "And it will raise us to the second floor, where there is a movie theater!"

Steps that moved?? ... how odd. Kiwi shied a few steps back from the escalator, before accepting Terra's hand as he jumped on.

After a dizzying moment of getting his bearings, he realized they were moving up, without even having to move.

"By Famine," he exclaimed, staring down to the moving steps at his feet. "There was nothing like this on the Clan Isle."

When they had reached the stop, he stumbled awkwardly off, amused, but glad to be on solid ground again. "So where is this 'theater'?? ..."

"It is there!" Terra said excitedly, pointing at a small box with glass windows and bored looking teenagers sitting behind them. She had yet to understand exactly how it worked, herself, honestly, but she had the general concept! "See those posters beside them? They show what features are playing! We shall go look and decide!" she told him, dragging him along behind her.

She stopped at the first one, which had a Frankenstein monster with gigantic hands. "Wreck it Frank..." she read. "That might be interesting... Oh, look! A movie about a skeletal horse! Oh, but horse movies always have such sad parts in them," she said, hesitating--and having no clue that the horseman beside her had the ability to summon one.

"Do you like comedy or drama, senor Kiwi?" she asked.

Kiwi scanned the posters Terra had pointed to. Ahhhhhh the horse reminded the colt of clansmen from his own home. But this 'Frank' seemed interesting as well ... hmmmmmm. He turned to the ghoul. "They both seem intriguing ... which would you like to see Terra??"

Ice Queen

"Let us go see the comedy!" Terra decided cheerfully. Yes, she was dragging a horseman to a scareling show. But she'd had enough drama for the moment. Something funny sounded like the perfect way to start the day!

"We would like to see the Wreck it Frank show," she said as she approached the teenager at the counter.

"Um... you can get a student discount--wait, is that a horseman?"

"Yes. So?"

"Should you--" the teen leaned forward, trying to keep Kiwi from hearing, "y'know, they're really dangerous and their islands blew up--are you sure this is smart, running around with one?"

Terra's eyes narrowed. "Are you insulting my new friend, senor? Because if you are," she started out. "You will regret it."

Kiwi was a little astonished by how quick Terra was to defend him. He certainly didn't like this boil very well. No one, and he would repeat, no one mocked the Clan, and especially not the travesty that befell them. His eyes narrowed on the teen, and he pushed past her, staring the scareling level in the eye. "I'll have you know that I am currently in service to this ghoul, and am here because she wishes it. If you have a problem with that, perhaps you should reconsider your dayjob." He paused, before whispering, in a firm, steady voice: "And if I hear you speak so of my people again, I will personally drop you into the human world and leave you there." He didn't technically have the authorization to do such a thing, but this boil didn't need to know that.

The teen swallowed, loudly, nodded, and handed them the tickets. He had probably pissed himself. Horror stories about Horsemen weren't hard to find in town, not when they lived so close.

"I would say gracias," Terra said sharply, having moved to Kiwi's side again. "But I am NOT thankful to you," she said, sticking her nose in the air and taking Kiwi's arm before storming in the direction the teen pointed with a shaking hand. "The rudeness!" she complained as they had their tickets checked and were told where to go.

Then she giggled. "You couldn't really leave him in the human world, could you?" she asked the horseman, so amused by that threat.

Giving the boil a last long glare, Kiwi followed Terra inside. He was still a bit bothered by the rude scareling, but her question caught his interest. "Well, no actually, not without Medea's permission." He kept his voice down, unwilling to have any others overhear.

"It was very impressive," she told him, "regardless of whether it was true. Now! We shall see the movie and then go to the market! But first--we shall go THERE!" she said, pointing at the massive snack bar that people were lining up to buy things at. "They have candy!"

Yes, she was dragging a horseman into a line to buy candy. She hoped that had voodoo beans!

xoxomenai
We can time lapse to the market if you want!
PostPosted: Tue Nov 20, 2012 6:36 pm

"C-candy??" Kiwi sputtered as he was dragged behind the ghoul enthusiastically. Candy did sound good, but he was more of a snotcorn type. "I'll be right back," he told her, heading for the snotcorn line. A moment later he had returned with a nicely sized bucket of snotcorn, ready for the movie.

Ice Queen
That sounds fine to me :>

She had an armful of candy. And a grin.

The movie sped past, leaving Terra big eyed with wonder as they left the theater. "It was so LARGE," she said. "The screen, it was like a wall!" She was still enthused with the set up--much less the movie, as she headed for the market. "I like it!" she decided. "Do you like the movies, senor Kiwi? Although it was a bit loud," she said with a frown. "But it was so fast and bright and colorful! Oh!" she said, changing the subject. "There is the market!"

She tugged him forward, heading into the busy marketplace with a horseman behind her and no clue that people would find that strange. "Oh, there is so much food," she said in wonder.

In answer to her question, Kiwi nodded. "I do, it still baffles me the technology you scarlings possess." He found it astonishing the scarelings could imprint pictures onto the wall, and moving pictures, with sound no less. Was it some sort of FEAR-fed sorcery perhaps?? ...

But then he caught sight of the markets, and all thoughts of Halloween technology vanished. The markets here looked much like the ones from Famine, and that excited the horseman. He wandered up to a booth selling all manner of fine fruits. "Ah, this one looks interesting. What is it called??"

"It is a grindapple!" she told him happily. "But be careful, they bite," she added, heading for the fruit. "They are lovely when you skin them! Would you like to try one?" she asked, grabbing one of the baskets next to the table and taking the one he held from him.

"This one is fresher," she said, putting it down and grabbing a different one. "Unless you do not like your fruit fresh?" she added, hesitating as she had that thought. "I know there are some that prefer it... riper." As in almost rotten.
