A fairly small town with a training dojo and a flower shop. The Gym leader Flint, master of rock types opened his gym here. There is also a huge concert hall which is the main attraction for the town. There is also a lake right outside of the town wich makes it a good fishing spot.

Nearby, a criminal syndicate was up to no good.

What else would it be up to? This particular branch had made a peculiar and very important find. They had put a small steel/psychic pokemon in a cage to examine it since it couldn't be properly examined in a pokeball. The gentle creature with a star shaped head was terrified but too exhausted to defend itself after battling a bunch of fire and ground type pokemon; It listened to its captors wondering what was to become of it?

"...See I hear that if you write a wish on one of those tags on its head, it grants it!"
"That's dumb and look, there aren't any tags on it's head! It is very powerful though..."

The chatter continued as they debated what to do with the pokemon.

Jirachi could grant wishes, sorta. If you wished to have something destroyed, it could do that. It could summon objects to you from different locations but couldn't create them exactly. If you wished to have a cute pokemon to play with, that was right up your alley if you ignored the odd third eye. It could heal you if it used a certain pokemon move. The little guy wished he had someone to help him.


But it wasn't really particularly magical. Maybe.

Jirachi perked up immediately. His wish was coming true!

The goons on the other hand were not so delighted and were really annoyed. Goon#1, Ludwig, was the first to speak. "Look, you don't want to get involved in this. We are from Team Gamma and really this pokemon is going to help us. Our leader is a great visionary named-"

"Stop blathering and help me out here." said Goon#2, also called Jones. Jones sent out his Krookodile to start harassing the Gardevoir. "Rule number 1 girl, don't be the first to show your hand in a battle. Say goodbye to Kate." The dark/ground type didn't seem to be in top condition for battle but tried to bite Kate anyway as Ludwig sent out his one remaining pokemon, a vulpix.


The battle with the Jirachi earlier had deprived the goons of a fully battle-ready team.

out of no where two pokeballs hit both of the goons in the face and a mans voice could be heard " hay you two whats the big idea i was trying to nap but how can anyone sleep with all this battling going on? "

dave stood in the doorway of his home juggling a pokeball in one hand he then saw the jarchi

" can it be? is that the pokemon that grants wishes? i must have it "

dave then turned to the two goons and spoke to them "but first hand over all your pokeys to me and i wont hit you with more pokeballs'

(Oh yeah, I forgot about that. She hasn't obtained the Jirachi yet, could it just be a fateful encounter? Again, proofreading please: )

The pokeballs failed to capture the goons. This was also a waste of perfectly good pokeballs because even if he had caught them, they would have had terrible stats and bad attack sets to use in pokemon battles.

The Krookodile lunged after the Gardevoir but since it didn't know pursuit it didn't accomplish much of anything. The Vulpix looked at Katie, then back to Goon#2 as if asking what to do. "I don't know, she doesn't have any Pokemon out and if we actually hurt some kid... Hey! Both of you! Leave or else! We need the Jirachi's help to make the world a better place."

Goon#1 was a little clearer on his threats. "Leave or else my Krookodile here will use earthquake and I can't guarantee that it won't hurt any of you!" but Goon#1 was bluffing, the Krookodile could not use earthquake and would just have to scare them away one way or the other

As for Jirachi, he felt a little more uncertain now about being rescued. Would he ever get out of the cage? The trainer girl had recalled her pokemon, did this mean she was giving up? Dave didn't look too bad but the psychic type wasn't sure about him, he seemed a little scarier than Katie...

He didn't get a proper answer but it was an answer. "Vulpix, confuse him!" The fire fox obeyed and tried to use confuse ray on Dastardly Dave the Destroyer Dude.

What does confuse ray look like anyway? It's very hard to describe since the people who see it are the ones it is being used on and they get, well, confused. It has been researched by leading scientists in the field but the best we got out of them was, "It smelled like cheese for some reason. I wonder why it tasted like copper?"

kaite took out another poke ball and threw it. a scraft appeared from the ball kaite siad "soka use brick brake and free that pokemon

the scrafty obeyed her and attacked the cage to free the pokemon that was trapped within it. she said "ok soka you did a good job return
" the scrafty vanished into its ball and kaite put it back into her pocket.
