Gene sat in the library, fiddling with a piece of her hair as she waited for her "big sister" to arrive. She'd texted the ghoul a bit, and they'd decided that the library would be the best possible place to meet. She told her she basically knew what she needed to about the school, but was really just interested in what had happened with the student body before she was enrolled.
There'd always been whispers, rumors about an island, and some strange stories about the Haunted House. Truth or Fiction, Gene really wanted to know what her 'family' had gone through. Maybe it would help them better prepare for the next time Hunters came, or another bout of Insanity struck.
Or maybe she was just a busybody.

Texting the ghoul back, she started towards the library. Gene was a ghoul she had seen about the school from time to time, but had never really taken the time to speak with her. Between all the bizarre trips, the horsemen, hunters and even her studies, she didn't quite have time for anything before this. Luckily, Gene knew most of everything about the school--probably as much as she did, anyways--so no tours were in need today. Instead, she wanted to be filled in some of the past events that had happened before she had enrolled as a student. Easy enough, as she had been here longer, and could probably answer most of her questions.
Approaching her destination, Mei crossed the hall, stepping around groups of students hanging in the hall before entering the library itself. Giving the room a quick scan, it wasn't long before she spotted the ghoul. "Hey, Gene. Sorry if I kept you waiting." Grinning, she stepped towards the ghoul, extending her hand to greet her.

Spying the Living Doll ghoul as she approached, Gene was out of her seat and ready to shake hands with the Third Year. She smiled welcomingly, pulling the ghoul into a short hug before letting go. "Ah, no you're fine hon! I just got here a few minutes ago, really." She was all pep and cheer, happy to just be talking to someone new.
She reached into a purse , pulling out two cups of iced coffee. "I don't know if you drink it or not, but I brought us both some coffee. Hope your don't mind screamberry creamer." In hindsight she should have just packed it black, and brought creamer with her, but...well, she was excited for their meeting, and she'd made the creamer herself.
"Mei, before we get down to the dirty grit, do you enjoy Amityville?"

Smiling, Mei returned the hug. giving the ghoul a light squeeze before releasing her. She was pleased to discover that Gene had only just arrived herself, making the doll feel a little more at ease with her timing. "Oh good!" Tardiness was something that the doll could be known for, especially when she was just a snot. Ah, the good 'ol days~
Blinking, she stared at the cup of iced coffee offered to her, before smiling and taking it. "Thanks, that was really sweet of you." Drinks and food were not always a good thing for her to have--what with her not having all the insides other students had--but she didn't mind trying it on occasion, or to be polite. "I've never had the flavour before, so I'm willing to give it a go." she smiled, taking a sip.
....
Man! She was really missing out! This stuff was good!
Pausing, she eyed the ghoul again, thinking over her answer. "Yes, I believe I do. I mean, we've been through some crazy things here, but I've learned a lot of things here. Not to mention, I've met some great boils and ghouls here as well." taking another sip from the iced coffee, the doll cocked her head to the side. "And you? Do you like it here?"

Oh, she enjoyed it! Gene was relieved; screamberries could be a little...bitey. She sipped her own coffee, enjoying the stuff herself. Mm, maybe a little more snot in the mixture though~
"My time at Amity? It's been great, overall. Gotten to meet lots of great people, made some great friends, lots of cute boils, crazy shenanigans. I could have done without all the dissipation, though." She laughed at the end, though completely serious about the last bit. Dissipation was never fun, especially not when it happened multiple times in one night. Or when you were trying to rescue kidnapped friends.
A sigh, a shake of the head. It was good just to relax once in a while, enjoy the October as it went by. There was hardly ever time to do that.
"So...don't mean to get heavy real quick, but when did you first find out about the Hunters?"

Mei listened quietly as Gene spoke of her time at Amityville. She was pleased to know that she wasn't the only one who didn't regret enrolling in this school. Sure, they may have put them through hell a few times--er.. more than a few times, but it wasn't always their intention. It was more like bad things just gravitated to them all. "Yeah, I hear you on the whole dissipation. You'd think you'd get used to it after once or twice, but it never really does get better." And on top of that, they had to deal with random side effects from time to time as well!
At her question, Mei had to think. When was her first encounter with hunters? It was hard to recall, what with hunters almost being there at every turn now. It was almost like they were a part of their daily lives now. "Hmm.. well, the first time they were revealed as hunters, at least from what I remember, was at the haunted house.. back when Red had.. well, you know." Luckily for them, they managed to get her back. "But that wasn't the first time we had encountered them. The first time, was back on the island, when I was still a first year. We only knew them as hooded figures then, but over time, we found out who they really were." But it appeared that hunters were around a lot longer than that, thanks to that trance session Medea had put them through. There was no telling how long they had actually been around. To find out, she would have to ask the hunters that question.

Ah, right, the trance. Gene sort of stared off for a moment, thinking of brave Radoch; a proud Defender and generally good person. He, unfortunately, was gone thanks to the Hunters. She gave a frown at the thought, before continuing in her thought process. Before Red had what, exactly?
"Ah, could you actually...tell me what happened with Red? I know she's a teacher but...what exactly happened? Had she been in the Haunted House for a while or something?" Gene wouldn't tell the Doll, but she had no trust in this Red person. A few of the older students seemed to adore her, but she just felt...off.
Maybe it had to do with the fact that she'd come from an Insanity laden house; or that she was able to use Hunter weapons. Maybe even just the fact that she was what appeared to be a boogieman gone rogue.

What happened with Red? She wasn't even quite sure what had happened there herself. "I'm.. not sure actually. She came with us to the haunted house--whether or not it was her first time there, I have no idea--but it was our first time there. We all split up into groups--teams. The next time I saw Red, she was insanity infected and attacking hunters and students alike. I literally arrived just in time to be dissipated by her flames. Anything in between that and when we first arrived at the haunted house, I have no knowledge on." And just about every student had known what had happened to Red after that battle. Though, none of them ever thought she would have come back to them.
"I'm afraid that's about all I know on the subject of Red and her 'death' back then. There is a chance other students might no more about it, but the bogeymen like to keep a tight lid on everything."

"Ah....strange." So, the beast they'd fought this year was Red? That...that made it all come together for her. The school was accepting her back, even though she had been corrupted by Insanity, and lived in Insanity for about a year? It really didn't bode too well with the Doppelganger, but she would move on. What happened had happened, no amount of whining or questioning could change that.
Though, maybe it was time for a lighter note. Christmas, maybe?
"I've heard about a Christmas raid? I mean, a non Insanity afflicted one; what was that all about? Are we going to Christmas town ever again?" She couldn't help it but get excited as she asked. Peppermint was one of her favorite flavors, a shameful guilty pleasure.

"Heh heh, strange is actually quite normal in Halloween." She grinned, taking a seat in one of the many chairs in the room. "I think its a good thing to know that if one becomes insanity infected, there is still a chance for them to come back. Though, I don't know about those hunters.." The fate of the two hunters were unknown to her. She wouldn't wish insanity on anyone, not after she had been through it herself.
"Oh, Jack! The raid on Christmas town.." The doll snickered, recalling the event. "Well, it was it sounds. Or at least that's what we originally thought. Turns out, us students were nothing but a distraction, while Hellma did something. I honestly can't remember what it was she did." She shrugged. That was also the time of when Professor Caelum hung around the school, and had even paid a visit to the train car she was in with other students. "I have no idea if we'll ever go back to Christmas town, but I think there is always a possibility of it happening. Just uh.. beware of the JOY creatures." Shuddering at the mere thought, she took another sip from her drink.

Gene had to laugh at Mei's little strange being normal quip; the ghoul was funny! She shook her head, giggling still. Yes, strange was quite normal.
Ah, right, those poor Hunters. "Is it weird that I hope they're okay? I've never gone through Insanity before, but...I'm sure it's all kinds of awful." More awful than a pink house full of glitter and over stuffed bears, even. A light shudder at the thought of that.
She sipped at her own coffee, out of questions to ask about the school's past. Everything she'd needed to know about the place was known now, so...why not get to know the ghoul who'd been so helpful?
"So, Mei, got a boilfriend or two?" She was teasing with that last part, winking a little as she said it. Ghoul talk was gonna happen.

"No, its not weird at all. I've.. gone through insanity. I wouldn't wish others to go through it, even if they are enemies." Not being able to control yourself, but see everything that happens as you strike down your friends.. it was something she never wanted to go through again. She had yet to go apologize to Danny and the others.. she couldn't bare to face them right now.
Taking a sip of her coffee, she almost spat it back out when Gene asked her next question. "Or t-two?" it was hard not to gawk at the girl, as she tried to figure out what kind of a relationship Gene might have experienced in the path. "Yes, I have a boilfriend." She laughed, shaking her head.

Her phone buzzed quite suddenly, letting out a melody that signified it was work calling. A sigh, and Gene stood abruptly. Time to slave away, making drinks for rude customers and a ruder boss. She hated management changes.
"Augh, sorry Mei - I guess I'm needed at work today. Thanks for everything; I'll see you later, m'kay?" She gave the ghoul a quick hug, kissing her on the cheek before gliding out of the library in a rush, muttering something about work and how it always interrupted her ghoul time.
