"OFF WITH THEIR HEAD!" Queen of Hearts

Auto-Damage: 6 The sound of her voice alone makes your ears ring. You were probably better off staying with the card guards, but it's too late now. She's noticed you, and she wants your head. Your only chance is to take her down before she gets to you - just being near her is already taking a toll on your well being. If she gets to you, you'll lose your head. Battle Mechanics Please note: Your HP is reset once you reach here!To start a fight with the Queen, take this post and use it to start your own thread in this forum! You can do this alone, or you can fight her with friends - up to a max of 6 people! (At least three is recommended!) You can kill her as many times as you want, but you can ONLY claim your prize from the Queen ONCE! As long as you succeeded to hit her at least once, you can use the thread for your claim. Before you can claim anything, though, you'll have to defeat her! All standard regular and Fear attack rules apply. But we do have a few special bonuses that you can use - be warned, you still take AUTO DAMAGE whether you attack or you attempt to use these bonuses! You can only SUCCEED at each of these bonuses ONCE. They do not stack! Eat Me: Another one of those little tea cakes? They're just everywhere, aren't they? If you wish to try for this bonus, roll 1d6. If you get a 5 or 6, you grow to twice your size! Take half the auto damage each turn for the rest of the fight. Drink Me: You're not falling for this again. You throw the little bottle at the Queen, and she shrinks down to half her size. If you wish to try for this bonus, roll 1d6. If you get a 5 or a 6, the Queen shrinks to half her size. She takes double your damage anytime you hit, for the rest of the fight! (AFTER the modifier. Rolling a miss still means you miss.) The Card Guards: Maybe they can hurt her more than you do? Roll 1d10. Whatever number you roll is the card you throw at her. Do that amount of damage, without a modifier. Be warned, the Queen of Hearts hates papercuts - she will do 10 DAMAGE to you on this turn. You may only throw a card guard once!

When Mort eventually came to, he was glad to see that he was back to his normal size - albeit coatless still, but eh. Details~ Two voices coalesced from the dull whispers of his mind, and Mort found to his dismay that he was no longer inebriated. He would fix this soon, as the whispers and his naturally somber attitude (and a wave of embarrassment from the memories of the past few hours) were really not what he wanted at the moment. So he only listened to the cards bicker for, say, five seconds before he shambled in to meet the Queen.
And then the Queen screamed her infamous line and Mort cringed, covering his ears and leaving himself open to the swipe of her scepter. Ow. He managed to send a spark her way, but the blow had disoriented him enough to make him back away and consider other options of fighting her.

That mushroom had knocked the witch out without her even having taken a bite of it (which wasn't at all fair), but she knew it was just the caterpillar's revenge for her beating his maze so quickly. Yet the sight when she awoke, as well as that jack awful screaming noise, were not particularly what she'd had in mind. A tiny noise of derision escaped her and she stood and saw-- "Why if it isn't my Mad Hatter. How utterly charming to see you!" Belladonna cooed to the zombie as she tottered closer to him. For a moment she considered just going in for a greeting kiss, but a loud noise distracted her from that goal. It was none other than... The Queen! Yeesh, what a day this was turning into... "Fancy battling cards against cards?" The witch asked as she threw them out, as well as tossed one toward the screaming creature. Hmmm... A bit tougher than she looked, really. Battle Stats HP: 44/50 Damage: 4 Queen HP: 67

Mot was concentrated on keeping away from the Queen enough that he didn't immediately register someone else was in the room. And then he did. And then he turned and blinked owlishly at the witch and wondered how it was that they would be assembled here together when they had clearly gone to the event at different times. Damn, if only Alex was here than the trio could go out in a blaze of glory . . .
"You're late, Alice~" he teased with a grin. "Think monarchy n-needs new ruler, eh?" It was here that he flicked his hands as if to summon the green bolts, but his Fear hiccuped under the radiating aura of hate their opponent was giving off. Jack damn it, way to ruin the moment.

"I'm not being a very good Alice if I'm not a little late." The witch drawled in a flirty tone as she side stepped away from her zombie, though she hated to do so. Still, the Queen was imposing above them and a bit of green made her wary. When the green failed to manifest, Belladonna pouted for only a moment before she pulled out her favorite card. "I'd say a new ruler would suit this place just fine."Perhaps she was being just a little too cocky, for when Belladonna tossed the card out, it only burst into a bit of pink. And then did nothing. The witch's eyes immediately widened and she stared horror stricken at the little tendrils of pink light that faded in the air. For a long time she could not say anything, only stare at how her Death Knight had failed her when he had never before done such a thing. "I see we shall have our work cut out for us, Hatter." Belladonna finally managed in a somewhat strained tone. Battle Stats HP: 38/50 Damage: 0 Queen HP: 67

Ughhhh, this stupid queen. Stupid stupid queen.
"True. Apologies f-for not being in costume like you, Ms. Alice," Mort said with a little grin as he tried to manifest a regular charge - and failed to do so. Seriously, what was wrong with him. Was it because he had just come off his tipsiness? Was it Bells suddenly popping into the fight all charm and bounce? Was it both?
"Mrrrrr, damn it!"

This battle was not going well at all. Not one little bit! Which was vastly disheartening given how wonderfully the witch had done on the maze. Now that both she and Mort weren't doing their best... It was enough to make her begin to despair. "Oh darling, when am I not in costume?" The witch asked in a less than stellar tone. She took a step backwards as Mort tried a hit but... His lightning wasn't working? With a frown the witch whirled toward the Queen and grabbed four cards from her circle. "Stop being so difficult!" She shouted at the creature with a dramatic sweep forward and a throw of her cards. There was even an additional bounce tossed in as she slammed her hands onto her hips and bent forward to address the Queen. "You are a terrible ruler! This place is a mess!" Belladonna added with another bounce. Because why not. She had on a big poofy skirt, bouncing was fun! Battle Stats HP: 32/50 Damage: 11 Queen HP: 56

Okay, get it together, McNeal. It's just a stupid queen. If your ghoulfriend can hit her, so can you.
But . . . bouncing. Mort couldn't help but watch the ladies in action as Bells yelled at the unfair ruler and gained a small smile. Mmmyes~ Work it.
"Y-Yeah! Alice coming to take throne back," he added after his fifteen seconds of fun, managing at last to conjure up a decent bit of lightning to arc the queen's way. "Can stop warming throne now!"

"Oh Hecate, I suppose I would have to take her throne... Wouldn't I?" Belladonna asked with a turn back toward Mort. Maybe she didn't really want to rule this land... It was so desolate! But... If she took over, then she could make things better, right? Hmmm! It was an interesting idea, but the witch had a better one. This time she grabbed the 3 of Pentacles and tried it out. Unlike the previous instance, this one saw the discs find their mark. "The cards just aren't in your favor." She told the Queen with a wink and a pose. Because don't think she didn't notice your improved battling when she gave you a little show, Mort. Battle Stats HP: 26/50 Damage: 8 Queen HP: 43

Hey, if she wanted to bounce away and pose for his pleasure, she was welcome to~ Unfortunately Bells did a bit too good of a job because Mort's tenuous grasp over his electricity flickered out again as he stared appreciatively. Then the queen screamed again and he cringed as if physically struck and took a few steps back.
"Mrrr, hell's wrong with me," he muttered to himself before going on in a normal tone to the witch. "S'up to you if want to rule Wonderland, Ms. Alice. Think would make fine queen, though!" Ughhh, where were his performance issues coming from all of a sudden? His last battle had been spectacular in terms of hits, but this was going about as well as his first battle in his first year where he nearly died.

The muttering wasn't good. Muttering was never, ever good. Though she hadn't been able to catch what it was he'd said, Belladonna could still tell it wasn't something good. Even his little attempt at cheerfulness afterwards did little to really make the witch feel better. With a small frown she paused and took a tentative step toward him. But the step was never taken as her foot rolled onto a small bottle. Carefully she side-stepped over the thing and bent down to pick it up. "One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes your small... " She mused out loud as she stared down at the vial. Well. It certainly was worth a shot! All pretense of battle gone, the witch took a few steps back before she raced forward and tossed the bottle at the queen. It was a dramatic thing, really, all floof and bounce with a popped leg thrown in for a bit of flair. But the bottle flew straight and true and splashed all over the Queen. With quite a lot of yelling on her part she shrunk down to half of what she'd started as. "Why, I think that's much more manageable, don't you?" Belladonna asked with a cheeky grin at Mort. Battle Stats HP: 20/50 Damage: None this round Queen HP: 43 Ol-j-man Why didn't we use these damn things from the start, what even

Ah, watching her take charge and fearlessly chuck that bottle at the queen with all the dramatic flair that was due the ghoul...Mort was grinning widely by the time the queen had shrunk to half her size. "S'why let you take charge all the time," he commented happily, clapping his hands and rubbing them together until sparks flew. "But isn't first time had ghoul yelling at me. Very scary creatures, ghouls." Especially his mother.
"Alright. S'make this count!" With a flick of his wrists the zomboil sent electricity towards the screechy opponent, finding it much easier to concentrate and aim when tr oppressive aura wasn't so stifling.

Oddly surprised by his comment, Belladonna gave him a strange glance before a little smile tugged at her lips. Oh, was that it? The witch had just figured it was mostly because she could be so forceful sometimes. Well, this was a much nicer alternative! His mention of scary ghouls made her laugh, but it was a stilted thing. She could feel herself growing tired, growing weaker. This had gone far worse than it should have, for the two of them should have been able to knock this creature out in no time flat. Instead they were both floundering. And while occasionally the witch did take the lead, this was not one of those instances. With a flourish she produced The Moon and tossed it into the air. But instead of it blooming over herself, it lazily floated over to Mort before the moon materialized over him. "Feeling better?" Belladonna asked with a smile as the card zoomed back to her. The real leader needed to be the one to survive this fight, after all. Battle Stats HP: 16/50 Damage: None this round Queen HP: 35

"Mrr?" Mort had forgotten she had a healing Fear still up her sleeve, but he was surprised that she would - actually, no. No he wasn't surprised at all. When the soothing light had finished its work, Mort smiled and leaned in, taking her hand to place a quick kiss on it. "Much better~ In your debt, Ms Alice. Lemme see if can't repay b-by deposing faker."
Turning to the fight again, Mort rolled his shoulders and stood between the two ghouls. Both arms lit up with energy, and he managed to concentrate it into a ball that was lobbed the shrunken queen's way.
