Mazal walked further and further into the forest. This was it, she was going to Mizani Ulimwengu, the place that she might make her home. She left Jama in the morning, touching her nose to his. There were so many thoughts about this, she was almost tempted just to stay with Jama and start a family with him. However she knew it would never work. This pride was all she could dream about, it was her goal to find since she heard about it.
As she walked, her anticipation grew larger and larger. She wasn't sure what she would do if she wasn't allowed in the pride, other then travel with Jama. However she couldn't do that forever. She wanted a place to call home. As she walked she found herself near a mountain with many cave entries. Puzzled she continue walking. When told about the land she was never told about a mountain. She was sure that that would have been brought up since it was such an odd mountain.
The more she walked, the more cave entrances there were. She wondered if this was where the members slept, because it would be a perfect spot. Finally after walking even further she decided to rest. If she was in the right spot, eventually someone would find her.
Majanga watched the strange lioness from a distance when she first entered the land. From her appearance, he guessed she was looking for something, and he was sure she was either looking for the Jedi or the Sith, he hoped for the later. New blood was needed in the pride. A female lioness could help with that. As much as he despised cubs, he knew for the pride to grow they needed young blood to pass on the ways of the old. He knew that he would live forever either, and that he needed a heir to the Sith. His current apprentices would not do nor would his pathetic son. He needed an heir who he could train from a young age and groom into the perfect Sith Lord, a Lord who could destroy the Jedi if he were to fail in doing so.
When she stopped he came out of hiding and walked over to her. “Hello stranger.” He greeted, keeping a fair distance from her. For now he wanted to be welcoming until he knew where she stood. His apprentices all were different and he had different ways of dealing with them. Some were easy to get the to join him, others proved more difficult. He only wanted the strong. Anyone weak (other then his son) would be banished from the lands. The lioness in front of him appeared to be strong. There were a couple scars on her back, a true sign of a warrior or a weakling.
“Are you looking for something?” He asked with a gentle smile. Acting was something Majanga was good at. He could be the gentle old lion or a fierce beast. He always thought luring others with kind words was the best way to approach things.
Mazal heard the crack of a branch and looked into the direction. A larger lion came out of the bushes and sat down near her. Her claws were out, if he even made a motion to get any closer to her she would attack. As he spoke though, she felt that he wasn't really much of a threat, though her instincts told her to keep her claws out. Right now the only one she knew she could trust was Jama. In time she was sure she would be able to trust the members of Mizani Ulimwengu, but only once they proved themselves trust worthy.
“I am looking for Mizani Ulimwengu. I thought by now I would reach it.” She stated, watching his movements carefully. She was sure that she was headed the right way. This was the direction was was told to go to. This had to be the right spot. “I have been told that it is a land of peace and new beginnings. I would very much like to have a new start in life.”
Her life wasn't perfect, nor did she want it to be perfect. For the first time she had felt real love and she didn't want to forget it. However she also wanted a place where she could find who she really was.
“You're in luck. This is Mizani Ulimwengu. The question is are you looking for the Sith or the Jedi? We both occupy the land, but we have so different thoughts on the world. We stem from the same plant, but in time our directions have changed.” Majanga explained. “I am the leader of the Sith. I am the one who requested that we ignore our differences and reunite to share the land.”
He didn't mind telling her the story of his return to the land. Even if she did want to join the jedi she had the right to know the truth before she joined. And if she wanted to join the Sith, he would be more then happy to have her in his ranks. “I am afraid that the jedi limited my land though. Going through those caves will lead to the jedi's land, though I suggest to not bother with that. If you travel long enough you can go around the mountain and reach their land.”
He is rather helpful, Mazal thought. However it seemed like he was helping her get to the Jedi's land. It was odd for him to do so if he is the leader of the Sith. If he had to request a treaty between them, they must have bad blood between them. “Why would you tell me about the Jedi and how to get there?” She asked. “Would the leader of the Sith want me to join him instead?”
The older lion confused her with his actions. She was sure there was a reason for it, however she put her claws away. If he wanted to attack her he would have done so by now. Plus if he were to try she could get them out before he could do anything to harmful.
“I am just looking for a place to start over, a place where my past won't be an issue. I don't want to get caught up in pridal disputes between the Jedi and the Sith. So if there are issues, I think I best get on my way and find a different pride. I am sure there are other ones that I could join.” She said as she got up.
Majanga got up and blocked her before she could get too far. “I think you misunderstand. I have no intention of going after the Jedi right now, nor would I put you in harms way to get to them. That isn't how I work. I only thought that you would rather join the Jedi because they have been seeking out new members for their pride, where I have not. I only let those who need a home into the pride, those who are lost and forgotten. The Jedi can be picky with who they let in. Anyone who had done acts of evil would not be allowed in there. They do not allow murders in or those who cause chaos.”
When she said that she wanted her past to be ignored, he knew she must have done something terrible. That would help get her on his side. “The members of the Sith are really just a bunch of misfits who don't really fit anywhere else. I teach them the ways of the force and in return they help me keep the pride moving. It's the way I want the pride run. I would gladly have you in my pride, only if you want to though. I would never dream of forcing another into this pride. I only want those willing to join to be apart of the pride.”
Mazal stopped and listened to his words. They seemed truthful, she thought. He said that she would not be involved with the dispute between the Sith and the Jedi. She would learn more about the Sith before she made her decision though. “Would it be alright if I stay as a guest, just to be sure that I want to join? The way you describe the Sith makes me feel like it is the right place for me to go, but I want to be sure. You want those who are fully willing to join and right now I am just not positive. I think once I learn more about the land I would be fully willing to join.
She didn't feel like this was a mistake. The pride was for misfits, past didn't matter. She never viewed herself as a misfit, but she liked the term. She didn't really fit anywhere, but it sounded like she would fit in here in this pride. If her past wasn't questioned it would make it that much better.
Watching someone's decent to the darkside was always something Majanga enjoyed watching. “I would be honored to have you as my lands guest. My name is Majanga. If you need any help please don't hesitate to ask.” He said. “The only thing I ask is that you don't go into the tunnels. Getting through the tunnels is something of a challenge. Many have tried to travel through, only to get lost and die days later of starvation. Those who do come back out are usually mad because of the experience. I do not want something terrible to happen to my guest.”
He started walking, then he looked over his shoulder. “If you would like I can give you a tour of the land. Right now our land is small, but hopefully with negotiation with the Jedi we will be able to expand our lands. I am hoping they will allow this to happen. If not, we will do our best with the land we have.”
“If you have time I would appreciate getting shown around. Then I will do a little exploring by myself.” She said with a nod. “My name is Mazal.”
She hoped this land was the land she would soon call home. The forest was nice, and the pride was hidden away. She expected that there weren't usually visitors on the land. “I won't be able to spend the night though. I have a friend who is at the borders. He escorted me here and I would like to say my good byes to him.”
What she really wanted was to spend all the time she could with him, but she wouldn't tell anyone that. She didn't want to appear like a love sick lioness. It was something she hated. However, the feeling of being in love was the greatest experience she had ever felt. She knew she would never feel anything quite like it and never for anyone as much as she did for Jama.
Everything was falling in place. It almost always did for Majanga though. “You are more then welcome to leave the pride at night. Just be sure to come back and tell me if you do decided to go else where. Your friend is also more then welcome to join.” He said. “Now I will show you the land, then you can explore. Stick close to me for now. Sometimes the other members of the Sith can get protective. I will tell them that you are a friend and they will not harm you.”
Trying to recruit when some of his apprentices were so impulsive was difficult. He had sent his own son to find new members, but he knew that it was a hopeless mission for his son. Eventually he would escort Izrail to the rogue lands and help him. He would personally train his son so he wasn't so pathetic. They would train away from the Sith. Majanga knew his son felt nervous around others, and felt private training would be the only way. He glanced at the lioness. She wouldn't need to much training, he thought as he looked at her mussels. She would make a perfect apprentice.
