Shang found had yet to find Maia, two and a half weeks after his sister disappeared. Almost nightly outing into the warring world he had only barely been touched by through Maia before and nothing.
Well not nothing, he had found out that he himself was a knight and it seemed he would be joining the war. He also found it seemed now, he was more likely to be chased by youma and so he now found himself on the run again. He rounded a corner and ran down the alley heading for a fire escape he had seen early and as soon as he spotted it he lept, the youma jumping after him. The ladder on the fire escape gave under Shang's weight and came down on top of the youma, turning it to dust.
Shang jumped down and sighed straightened his clothes feeling only slightly annoyed even if he was no longer being trapped. "Maia, I don't know how you have done this for three years. It's insane."

Zia had to stop her little stroll when she noticed a sudden youma chase going after... a steampunk cosplayer? No, that was clearly too in the median of normal-ridiculous to be likely. He was just ridiculous enough to register on the knight scale of her brain. Being energy blind sucked.
She half followed and turned a corner just in time to see him use the fire escape to dispose of it. "Whoa... nice!" She complimented, clearly impressed. It was kind of a sweet move. And she commemorated the meeting by snapping his picture with her camera phone before she registered what he said out loud to himself as she was approaching.
"...You know Maia?"

Shang went to mutter a thanks with a small smile, but his smile turned to a frown when she snapped a picture, "hey no ..."
He stopped hearing his sister's other name and looked closely at the girl in front of him. Lots of purple curls, she looked very familiar and Shang was pretty certain he had seen the girl before, but he couldn't place where exactly, but that didn't matter at the moment cause it seemed she knew Maia.
"Yes, I know her. She is my sister and I'm looking for her. You know her as well then. I think I may have met you before or at least have seen you before. Have you seen her?"
Shang moved closer a hopeful look on his face. Every one he talked to, every lead turned up nothing. Even Alex hadn't given him much to go on, even after admitting he had helped his sister back to Destiny City.

"It's not for nefarious purposes, guardian cat business, your identity is safe." Speech. Practiced. Often.
Without thinking, Zia answered with "Oh, yeah, Sailor Maia's one of my girls." But then her eyes narrowed at his admission he was her brother. How many brothers did Lily have again? She only knew the one, and vaguely because she knew Lily occasionally used him for patch ups when she was involved with the Blood Moon Court. But the glamor kept her from recognizing him.
"Uh..." She ended up shutting up dumbly. She totally knew. She was also pretty sure Lily wouldn't be happy with her telling since she had been specifically told not to tell anyone.
"...Nope, I don't know anything," She said a bit too fast to be convincing and glancing to the far left, debating running away without filling out a profile for him in her catalog.

Shang blinked not really understanding what the girl was talking about ... guardian cat business ... one of her girls. The girl sound a short way from being around the bin, but obviously she was tied up in all this mess just like he was. Just like his sister was.
"I'm not sure what all that means. I don't really know all the details of what Maia gets up to. I do know about the coma thing, some fuzzy things that give her nightmare and the space thing, but not much else."
The hesitance from Zia put Shang on edge so when she said she didn't know anything he crossed his arms looking at her with a slightly cross expression. "I don't believe you," he said and looking her over once more, " and more over who exactly are you. You, one, look familiar I don't think I should be able to recognize you and two, I don't feel anything from you."

"How do I know you're really her brother? Because I don't recognize you at all," Zia retorted, though at this point she was just being a brat for the sake of stalling until she could think of a half decent lie. She knew about the glamor deal, but hey. Conversation? Kind of?
She put her phone in her pocket and shifted the bat to another hand to extend hers for shaking with a cheeky grin. "Zia Connolly, Magical Space Bullshit graduate."
Okay he looked annoyed and maybe going the comedy route was a bad move, but Zia was nothing if not totally inappropriate.

Shang sighed once more, but felt even more that he did before that the girl was hiding something from him. She knew where his sister was, but know he just needed to figure out how to get her to talk and from her retort it didn't sound like that was going to be exactly easy.
"If you know my sister than you know even with the glamour we are practically twins, same hair, same eyes. I lack her freckles. I also lack her ability to sing. I wouldn't even attempt it, no one sings like her. Well in my opinion anyway."
Shang bristled slightly at the ridiculous introduction, but ever the gentleman he took the hand extended to him and bowing to the girl with a smile. "Shangri-La of Pluto. It's nice to meet you, Miss Connolly, circumstances aside."
He released her hand straightening up and gave her a very serious expression, "still I would very much appreciate it if you would tell me what you are hiding. I haven't seen my sister in two and half weeks since she disappeared from England and our family is very worried for her. How would you feel Miss Connolly, if it were perhaps one of you siblings or loved ones, if you are an only child."

Zia gave him another sidelong stare before cautiously asking, "You Xander? Or does Lily have more brothers I don't know about?"
She had to laugh at the bow. Silly knights and all their bowing. Adorable.
"Oh, dude, bad comparison. I haven't seen my brothers in years. Or my mom" Sort of. Noah excepting. "And you can call me Zee! You might've seen me around Lily when we were... um.. anyway." She crossed her arms and glanced to the left with a cringe. Okay, she felt a little bad making him stand there and worry, but she promised Lily.
"I might have seen her around, but... it's a secret. She doesn't want me telling and I'm not going to, dude, sorry. I think that might be in the guardian cat handbook or something."

Shang laughed and decided it was no use keeping up the glamour sense Zia guessed and she apparently knew his name. He frowned wondering if maybe he should have paid a little closer attention to who his sister hung out with. He let the uniform fade away and the stood Xander in khaki pants and a long sleeve polo. "Yes, I'm Xander and no she hasn't got any other brothers. It's just me, Rose and Lily."
Xander now frowned, "I'm sorry. I didn't think, maybe no that wasn't the best example. I'm sorry again ... uh Zee. And Yes I remember seeing you briefly, I mean I don't totally remember, but I know I've seen you before."
Xander's face lit up slightly hearing Zia say she might have seen Lily and he nodded. "I'm just really glad to hear that someone has seen her. Even her best friend hasn't seen her in weeks and those two are glued at the hip. I think the pair still have share beds, which I disapprove of, but he's wouldn't ever hurt her."
Xander looked up to the sky, "thank for letting me know at least that she is at least okay, I won't to make you break her trust. Glad to know she's got loyal friends in all this mess. I hope Alex is right and that she'll come to us on her own."
He looked to her Zia with a slightly quizzical look after a moment, "by the way what exactly is a guardian cat?"

"Oh, man, don't worry about it," Zia said, waving off his apology with a laugh and an embarrassing snort she was going to go ahead and pretend didn't happen.
"I used to hang around Lily a lot. Well kind of. For a brief point in time." Zia shrugged her BMC business off, deciding not to get into it. Especially since it led to a brief time when she wasn't talking to Lily before she decided to go ahead and screw the rules, she was still her cat.
"I mean, yeah, she's safe and all, she just needs time to work s**t out, yanno?" Okay if he was going to accept this it was totally fine.
"Oh..." The guardian cat question made her think for a moment. "You seen any talking moon cats around? Usually got stars on their forehead?"

Xander nodded happy Zia didn't seem to insulted, but still feeling find of bad for her. He couldn't image not seeing his family for years. As it was neither he nor Lily would be going back to England with their family so it would stretches of time between seeing them.
Xander smiled thinking on how his sister had changed, he never remember her being unpopular, but he would have never imagined her being a senshi, fighting in a war, going out dancing when before all this started she kept a fairly strict routine and rarely spent time out aside from time with Alex.
Xander's smile faded and it was replaced with a frown, "yeah I know. That somewhat my fault. I should have kept my promise. I knew she wasn't happy. I yeah, but Im going to make it up to her."
Xander shook his head, "actually no, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting a talking moon cat. Lily said something about them before, but no I've never seen one. Are you trying to tell me that you're a cat? Now I've heard everything." Xander gave a laugh, but it wasn't mocking.

Zia just gave a bit of an exaggerated pout. She didn't doubt he wanted to make it up to Lily, but at the same time, she wasn't going to be the one to give up that secret.
Though when he laughed at the prospect of her being a cat, one corner of her mouth twitched up in a wry smile and suddenly she had ears and a dress and much better kept ringlets. "Meow," She said in a monotone deadpan. "What'd you say your weapon was?" She asked, powering down so she could get her cellphone back. Not that he had shared his weapon, she just wanted to get the conversation back to knightly things.
"Uh... So... Lily know you run around in fancy knight pants and all?"

Xander couldn't help, but blink at the sudden transformation, which didn't last very long. Still he was certain he had seen it. The girl, Zia, Lily's friend was a cat or rather a half cat. It was odd, surprising, but not entirely. He just kind of nodded not really knowing what to say. "Er yeah sorry, my weapon is a reflex hammer, very suiting although the rubber mallet can't exactly hurt someone very much."
Xander blinked and shuffled his feet not really wanting to answer the question and a bit afraid Zia would tell his sister about him being a knight and ruin his chances of possible finding her sooner. He wanted to lie, but he decided the truth might be better this time.
"No, I was attacked by a youma the night we got back from England. I've been a knight for about three week. Uh, your not going to tell her, are you? I'd much rather she find out from me, in person."
He frowned slightly, "please don't tell her."

"Well, I'm not your cat, I don't care about your secrets," Zia said in extreme seriousness, which she could only hold for about a minute before she broke it with laughter. "Just kidding. Yeah, no, I won't tell her. Well for now, no promises after you've had a few chances." She didn't mean to sound malicious, but you never knew when these things became a problem. She had no intention of ruining his chances of having a moment with his sister, though.
"A rubber mallet? I know it sounds terrible, but that's actually not the worst I've seen. Got a guy in here who uses a glowstick."

Crestfallen was about the only way you could describe Xander's face for that whole minute, until Zia started laughing which brought forth a nervous chuckle from Xander. He hadn't of course thought it was funny at all, but couldn't be too upset with her seeing as she was going to keep his secret.
"Thanks," she mumbled a small smile forming.
Xander shook his head at the mention of a glow stick, he really didn't see what they expected them to do with the 'weapons' during this stage, but he knew he had to make the best of it. "I have to say, I am rather glad that I'm not stuck with a glowstick. I would have no idea what to do with it, I can at least bunk someone with the reflex hammer."
He laughed lightly before stretching, "well Zee I think I ought to call it a night. Thanks for letting me know my sister is okay and thanks for keeping my secret for now. If you ever need a patch up and would rather avoid the hospital I'm always available."
