It was several weeks after Kadryn had run into an Ayrala dragon on Serenia. She'd been training and trying to adjust to her weights harness. It was just so difficult to move fast or run or fly for long periods of time with that blasted thing on! So she decided to play it safe and not go hunting until she'd adjusted to the new weights. But waiting was difficult, Kadryn wanted to go hunting! But the harness would make it too dangerous... but.. but.. blast it! Kadryn had had enough of being peaceful and patient, one morning she woke up early and headed out. Since she was going to have to wear the blasted harness, she would head out early before she became to exhausted and slowed down.
And so dawn found her wandering around the lake, trying to find a Ysali... she wasn't sure she could safely handle an Ayrala with the harness on and... looking up at the looming dark shadow above her. Kadryn sighed in disgust, of all the dragons to encounter! Before these past few weeks, she'd only ever run into Ysali on Serenia, but now she seemed to be running into Ayrala's! She grabbed her mace from its place on her back and prepared to battle for her life. And she dearly hoped that the harness didn't get her killed.
And it was a life or death fight for Kadryn. Her reactions were slowed considerably by the harness and she tired quickly. After several minutes of battle in which she was bitten, thrown around, stomped on, and flung into the air, Kadryn forced her blood-thirst down and began to find a way out. She knew she couldn't win this battle. Not now. Maybe I should have taken the harness off when I entered the woods... she wondered as the dragon hit her into a tall tree. Exhausted by the fight, Kadryn just slumped onto the branches that had caught her. Well, this was a sucky way to begin my day, she thought as she watched the dragon proudly strut off into the forest.
