We start our tale out with our two main hero’s meeting for the first time in a little park in the city. Kira was reading alone, her favourite book a reminder of her brother. Espio, Calvin and Topaz had been out of work for a month and finally had come upon a new job of finding a mutant running around the city. They ran into Kira, who decided to come along and help after being drawn in by the mystery of the strange man known as “Pharaoh”. It was then we discovered a small connection between Kira and Espio’s younger sister Mai, who died in the same car crash as Kira’s brother James. Kira then accompanied the Chaotic gang on their mission to the Temple of Embers, Kira slowly getting know the people she’d suddenly thrown herself in with. The gang faces many a trouble at this temple, involving fears and a giant snake, before they made it to a final room where they caught a glimpse of Espio’s past.

Shortly after coming back, Kira comes to the gang with a new task, helping her locate her missing friend Allie. This is where Tristen, Kira’s other friend came into the picture. The gang snoop around a little bit, finding out Allie was seeing a guy who actually turned out to be a murderer. They run into him at a club and he tries to kill Kira by throwing her off a balcony, before coming back to her house later to kidnap her and take her to the old jail. Espio is the first to realise and comes to her rescue, from Clarence and from the poison he’d given her. Clarence is taken away and we are introduced to Jet and Wave, some strange bird people that Espio seems to know.

It is then that Kira seems to become a permanent part of the group, as she accompanies them on their next mission, to a place known as the Babylon gardens. Here we are introduced to the last member of Jet and Wave’s team, Storm. There they face several dangers, including mermaids, a sphinx, and a maze where they discover more about themselves. Espio and Kira grow closer than ever, a small romance beginning between them; though neither have the guts to admit it. After passing the trials they find themselves the treasure, Espio taking a particular amulet, its powers a mystery to everyone except Espio. They finally arrive safely back home but somehow trouble comes back to find them again.

A few weeks pass before their peace is shattered as the future comes to the present as the gang meet their future children and, in some cases, their future selves. We discover a little about their futures. Along with the children comes a troubling chip and villains after it. It was during this time that Espio and Kira shared their first kiss at the tower out in the forest, a special place to Kira. After several bloody battles, including a shifter who takes on Kira’s form, the future and present are returned to normal again.
Another peaceful while before Espio plunders them back into trouble when he tries to use the amulet to go back in time and erase his meeting with Kira, but instead he ends up swapping bodies with her, as Calvin and Topaz and Allie and Tristen do. Kira, however, is horrified to hear that Espio tried to erase their meeting. Espio however tells Calvin, he did it to try and protect her. Espio is soon after however kidnapped by a girl named Rogue (an old partner of Espio’s who betrayed him), who believes he is Kira, due to the fact they swapped bodies. Kira comes to save him though, but ends up giving away the fact she isn’t Espio to Rogue. Kira discovers a bit more about Espio’s past and his involvement with Rogue. We discover that she is after Espio’s amulet, which she ends up stealing off Kira, however Kira tricks her and steals it back. After dealing with Rogue, they get back to their own bodies.

Our hero’s seem to be unable to catch a break as the villains who were after the chip, send troubles back onto the gang. They send HH Holmes and Clarence back after them, Topaz and Kira getting themselves kidnapped and tortured. The rest of the gang come to rescue them, Espio seeming to be concerned with Kira’s safety the most. After patching the two girls up, Espio takes Kira home and they end up sharing another kiss which ends up being interrupted by Kira’s father, who seems to have decided that Espio is a bad person. Shortly after he leaves, Espio is contacted by Jet with another mission.

The next day the gang meet up with Jet and Wave again as they head off for the Fountain of Youth. After falling down a rabbit hole, they find themselves facing the usual dangers, mythical things and freaky puzzles to solve to find their way towards the fountain. They face off against their worst nightmares and their hearts innermost desires.

What happens next? We shall find out now...
