"It was early April in London. The weather was colder as the people of London buddle in coats as they went from place the place. London always seemed cold even in summer. At the moment the climate had shifted from afternoon to night. The temperature read to be in the late thirties. London was a beautiful place with beautiful weather and even more lovely history.

As the sun starting to go down, it was an automatic sign for the undead, more specifically a vampire. Des woke to the sun shifting below the horizon. He sighed a little running a hand through his hair. Des looked around a little at the darkened room. He shifted in the bed as he pushed back the blankets and ran a hand through his raven black hair. Des felt the gnawing on his system as blood called to him. He was a vampire by nature, bitten into the curse.

Des didn’t mind being a vampire, he loved it. He loved the blood as it rushed into his mouth on the first bit. Des also wasn’t just a vampire, he was a rather important figure but no one knew of his existence after so many years. Everyone had thought he had died during a war except Des hadn’t died but had been made vampire late 1830s. At the time Des had already been twenty-two years old. He looked rather young in appearance but was already over one hundred and fifty years old.

Lately Des had been having problems. He was getting older by the years and so were his servants. Des had just lost his best servant who had been with him for almost fifty years. He was looking for a new servant and had placed an advertisement into the papers nationwide. Many people had called upon his ad. Des had yet to interview them but was doing so tonight. When looking over the compiled files, he had a certain individual in mind for his idea.

Slipping out of his bed, Des moved toward his window. He glanced out down below to see a line of people waiting to be questioned. Des groaned at the amount of people there had to be at least a hundred. He let the curtain fall back into place as he walked toward his closet to get dressed. Des walked into his walk in closet and flicked on a light. He had progressed with the time with water and electricity. Des was no longer a human but still found them a necessity.

It didn’t take him long to find clothes. Des removed his previous clothes and tossed them aside. He pulled on a white long sleeve button up shirt. Des buttoned it up as he checked the cuffs pulling them down. He moved on as he grabbed a dark almost crimson blood red silk waistcoat and pulled it on buttoning it up as well. Des grabbed a black cravat and tied it around his neck stuffing it beneath the waist coat. He looked through his closet as he grabbed black slacks slipping them on. Des was almost completed with his attire. He grabbed a black frock coat slipping on. Des buttoned it up half way before grabbing stockings and his shoes. He walked toward his seat and finished putting his stockings and shoes on.

Now that Des was dressed, it was time to meet those outside his castle. He left his room and walked down what seemed like a never ending hallway. Des reached the steps and walked down into the foyer. He walked toward the front door as he opened it himself. Des looked around at the different men who stood before him. All eyes directed at him and he heard murmurs as well. A toothy grin provided enough shock for a few that they scurried down the pathway and left quickly.

Des chuckled a little, knowing the reason for the run. He had a familiar face especially since he had been a King long ago. No one believed the stores since he hid himself so well in public. Des didn’t hide that he looked like King Desdemona Svenghouli Razalude. He had the face and the same name. Des was no longer in Reign but still held his status. He looked toward the individuals before him, ”Hello… Thank you for calling to my advertisement…My name is Desdemona but you may call me Des…Now please line up and I will call you one at a time…” Des spoke smiling at the men before him. He turned toward the individual he had looked over and pointed toward him, ”You. You’re first... Please come this way.” Des motioned for the man to follow as he turned on his heel.

The chill in the air found its way under the heavy coat the young man with the red hair wore as he had come back to his temporary home, some rental apartments. What he had paid to stay for now had dwindled down and he would no longer be able to stay there. He needed a job, preferably a live in, and as luck would have it he had seen an advertisement for just such a job earlier that day. Amongst the bustling crowds during he day, he'd heard the gossip of the advertisement that had been put out by a certain someone, the male that lived high on the pedestal so to say. The male certainly was rich even compared to those bourgouise families that lived around here, boasting of their wealth.

The red head took an interest where others did not in that advertisement, he needed the work, and despite what gossip he heard of the male that was looking to hire, Haruto wasn't one to frighten as easily as others. He had been a butler to a rich woman for a time, until said woman found it beneficial to her to try and bed the young man. Though he kept his preferences to himself, he had no interest whatsoever in her, that and no matter her fortune, the woman was...unappealing even if he was interested in the gender. After the many advances, she'd instead taken to throwing Haruto right out into the streets in her huff and indignation. That brought to mind a quote of scorned women, oh how true it was. Now of course he needed a new job and new living situation, hence his eagerness for this possibility.

Hurrying into the small room he'd rented, the red head cleaned up and refreshed himself, dressing his best before he'd run back out. If this worked out well, he'd need to come back and retrieve his things...hopefully. His coat back on, it did not prevent the shiver that passed through him from the chill air that breezed by. Though the shiver that resulted was part in anticipation and anxiety as he came near to the home of the man who was seeking a servant. Coming up to the front as more mulled in with him, all congregating at the door. He glanced around at the many that waited, before his attention was drawn back to the front door, watching the man that exuded that air of importance step out to greet them. Tensing ever so slightly at that toothy grin he flashed, enthralled though and held back the smirk when he'd noticed those that ran for the hills so to speak.

As they were told to line up, Haruto went to clambor into a line with the others, when he was singled out, to come in first. Drawing in a sharp breath, anxious, he stepped up, walking in behind Des as he'd addressed them all to call him by. Taking his coat off he folded it neatly over his arm when he'd walked in. Not sure what to say, or how Des would start this.

"It wasn’t too hard to notice Haruto especially with his auburn waist length hair. Des couldn’t help but take notice of it the first moment he laid his eyes on him. He wouldn’t admit to it but he found Haruto interesting. The forms of his features were wonderful. Des walked into the house as Haruto followed behind him. He glanced back toward him, ”Shut the door...” Des spoke as he walked through the foyer and turned left.

He walked down the hallway and slipped his hands into his pocket. Des figured the best place to interview Haruto was in his study. He opened the door and slipped inside. Des turned the light on. He didn’t know if Haruto had followed him or not. Des slipped behind his desk and took a seat. He crossed his ankles beneath the desk as he waited. Des wondered how long he would have to wait. He wasn’t one for waiting.

Des felt his hair slip into his face and tucked it behind his ear. He slipped his fingers together as he sat in the chair. Des leaned back a little as he tried to relax. It was early and he hadn’t even fed yet. He would hopefully finish with his interviews soon. Des tended to get grouchy when he was left waiting for anything especially when it involved food.

Haruto nodded, turning back to the door, closing it, his jacket still over his arm. Turning, sighing, seeing Des just trucking on, going further ahead of him. Haruto moved at a quicker pace, almost a jog, his hair tied behind him whipping back. Once down the hall at the study, Haru stepped in coming over to the seat on the other side of the desk, the hot seat so to speak, where he was in Des' view.

Doing a little bow, just in greeting, Haru moved his folded coat, hanging it over the back of the free chair. Stepping around in front of the chair, introducing himself, "I am...Haruto Anima, sir...Des." Trying not to be so formal when the man had even stated to call him Des. Not sure whether to sit or what, he was in the position as if waiting on an order, like he already worked there. Though that was the habit it tended to stick when you worked so often as a Butler/servant.

" As he sat there, Des watched Haruto as he removed his jacket. He relaxed into the seat as he watched Haruto. Des watched as Haruto moved in front of the chair. He glanced at Haruto as he spoke, nodding slightly. Des already knew of his name and of his previous employer. He motioned toward the seat in front of him. ”Please sit, Haruto.” Des spoke knowing that it was customary for servants to stand in waiting. For the moment, Haruto was simply someone he was interviewing, so there was no need to be formal with him, yet.

Des found Haruto was already warming up to his position. He wondered how many of the other men would have done the same. Des highly doubted it; he would probably have to teach them. He didn’t want to teach, he wanted someone who was already trained. In a way, he believed he found that with Haruto. Des watched Haruto to see if he would sit down. He didn’t mind if he stood but still it was simply an interview nothing was set in stone.

Haruto gave a nod as Des had requested him to sit. He'd waited, couldn't help it really he was so used to the mannerisms of his job, and had only been out of work a couple weeks so it wasn't as if in the downtime he had forgotten how to act. So he sat, his hands together simply placed on his lap as he looked across the desk at Des. He'd seen how many were waiting to be interviewed, wanting this job. Haruto was anxious but hoping for this, it was a live in butler job, experience preferred. He wasn't sure about the experience of the others, but he'd certainly hoped he had a lead in this. No matter what he'd heard of Des, he wasn't really one to be scared off easy, despite the idea that had been rumored of Des not only resembling, but being this long time gone...at least supposed gone ruler.

Stopping his mind from wandering, haruto waited for any questions, how Des would begin this. It had only been a moment of silence but he felt like it was lasting too long. He had to wonder what was going through this male's mind, looking directly back at that almost intense stare of the male's. It was like he was peering further into people then just looking, at least that was what he thought as he looked at Des.

"Des waited for Haruto to sit. He didn’t want to speak to Haruto as if he was his servant yet. Des had a sense of class and personality about him. He didn’t like to treat his servants as if they were mere servants. Des knew they were people unlike himself. He was no longer human and hadn’t been for a long time. Des wondered how Haruto would take kindly to being a servant to a vampire. It was probably perhaps better than the female who wanted to sleep with him in comparison.

As he sat there he watched Haruto. Des knew he was staring so he glanced elsewhere. He looked back at Haruto for a second, before shifting in his seat. Des grabbed a folder and held it up, ”This is but a brief history of your life…I looked into your past employers…Though I want you to tell me about them…Were you fired from any of these jobs…Do you have bad habits?” He asked setting the folder down. Des had gained information on his own accord but preferred to learn it from the horse’s mouth.

Haruto tensed a bit as the male referenced a file he seemed to have on him. Wondering just how good his information was, what he'd gotten from employers. Least of all that last employer of his. Pursing his lips as he was questioned, "I was...from my last job, my employer and I had...a conflict." Sighing not sure if he really wanted to say explicitly what had happened. About bad habits, he had to really think, that was always a hard question, because who wanted to admit they had bad habits. "I...can't really think of anything that I guess I'd classify as a bad habit. I'm efficient in my job, and I keep my living space clean...if I had to give something to be a bad habit, I'm picky about how things are maintained. If things are in a certain order, or there's a certain way I cleaned something, when someone interferes or changes anything I can't ignore it...I have to go back and fix it." So basically he was kind of OCD.

"Des didn’t trust files. He preferred to trust his employee if and when they were hired. Des didn’t want to be lied to and usually lied were held within files. He also knew people could lie as well but certain body language allowed him to see past that. Des watched Haruto curiously as he seemed a little surprised and yet tense about the idea of a file on him. He didn’t understand why unless there was a reason to be so afraid. Des listened as Haruto spoke about his last employer. He nodded a little at his words. Des knew about the incident but didn’t think it would be a problem.

As he sat there, Des continued to listen to Haruto speak. He knew his question wasn’t something that anyone would want to answer. Des preferred to know the bad things about his employees than the good. So far it didn’t seem that Haruto had anything to discredit. Des shifted in his seat a little, ”Efficiency is a good thing…Which I find important…” He spoke as he crossed his arms and leaned in his seat forward.

Des tried to think of other questions to ask. ”As a live in servant…I do have to let you know that I do not wish to be bothered during the day…My room will be off limits…but you are allowed to go elsewhere…Do you have a problem with that?” He asked curiously. Des knew it was an odd request but it needed to be established. He did not want to be bothered during the day. Des didn’t mind during the night but within reason.

Haruto only tensed, as he was paranoid, he could imagine what his previous employer said about him. She had fired him in a huff because he'd turned her down, and a woman in her position could make up any number of lies about him. Now he listened as Des remarked about what he'd said, about being efficient, seeming to disregard what he'd said about his bit of OCD. That didn't seem to be much of a problem then to him. Blinking curious as he listened to what he'd said about his room. He didn't have too much of a problem about it, but if Des needed the room cleaned he wondered would the rule be disregarded...well if given permission. His curiousity was piqued about it though. Haruto shook his head, "No, I have no problem with that, it wouldn't be my place to really contest that.." to have an issue with it, if he were the servant there he couldn't say otherwise about the matter.

"Des wasn’t bothered by a person who was Obsessive Compulsive. In a way he believed that was a good thing. After all it guaranteed that nothing would be dirty or out of place. Des knew his demands were odd but it was necessary. He was still hidden from the lives of humans. Des knew the instant his eyes laid upon Haruto that he was human. He had no problem with humans but he didn’t need one to find out his secret. Des wasn’t normal nor had he ever had been especially after so many years. He figured it was best to lay down the ground rules then talk about it later. Des nodded a little, ”Good…And you’ll be able to start as soon as possible?” He asked wondering if Haruto had things to settle before taking the job. "

Haruto was hopeful with that last question, if he would be able to start as soon as possible. To him that signaled his getting the job, 'Oh I hope that's it.' Thinking to himself anxious. Giving a nod, "Yes, I would be able to," tilting his head, "Though I would need to go collect my belongings and hand back my key to the room I've been renting for the time being." Stating that only to say he could start right away, with the exception of a little time in between so he could go get his things. But other then that he had no prior things to settle.

"Des needed someone as soon as possible. He didn't need a person who wasn't willing to start as soon as possible. Des found that if Haruto couldn't start as soon as possible then there was no need to speak to him. He listened as Haruto spoke nodding a little. Des could understand the idea of getting his things. He also wondered if perhaps Haruto had other clothes besides the one he was wearing. Des preferred a servant who looked and dressed like one. Haruto was average but he at least wanted him dressed for the job. He didn't mind providing the clothes after all he was getting service. Des shifted in his seat, "That's fine...Do you have some sort of uniform that you wore or will you be needing one?" He asked curiously as he watched Haruto. "
PostPosted: Fri Nov 16, 2012 5:48 pm

User Image

Haruto almost smirked, nodding, "Yes I do, I have a uniform, a couple actually," it was normal and because he needed a change in one so then he could clean the ones he wore while wearing another clean set. He'd kept his uniforms and what clothes he had, so long as he'd gotten a job as a butler again, or he'd be selling them just to make due, and find other work. Haruto was basically a package deal, all set and ready to go for Des here.

"Des nodded at Haruto's words. "Good.." He spoke as he stood up. "Well then...I have to speak to a few others before I decide." Des spoke as he walked around his desk. "But so far you seem like a most excellent candidate." He spoke smiling at Haruto. "It was lovely to meet you...Let me show you back outside." Des spoke as he motioned toward the door. He walked out it and down the hallway heading back toward the front door. Des opened the front door as he arrived. It seemed only a few people were outsides. He pouted a little but smiled chuckling to himself. He figured this would happen after all it usually did. Des knew what people thought of him; abnormal, undead, a freak, a creature of the night and so on. It didn't bother him after all it was all true. Des wasn't normal and he was a creature of the night. "

Haruto finally gave a smile, nodding, "Alright, and thank you," saying he seemed an excellent candidate and well he hoped that held some sway. He didn't know how the other interviews would go though. Following him back down to the front door, glancing around at the few that still stood there, mildly puzzled. There had certainly been more than that when he first walked in, now they had more or less disappeared. He wondered what had spooked them off, well besides probably the rumors he'd been hearing. Shrugging though, it was no issue to him, turning back to Des, "thank you for this interview, and it was lovely to meet you as well." Smiling as he had headed out, to let Des get back to more interviews.

"Des went through interview after interview. He found many of them boring to him. A few of them were startled by a few of his questions. Des sighed as he finished with his last interview. He was tired of interviewing people. Des decided on Haruto as his servant. The man seemed well enough and an excellent person already by reviewing his file. Des had taken the last person outside after the interview. He looked around at the men whom stayed to see if they got the job. ”Thank you all for coming…After speaking to you all I feel that none of you are what I’m looking for except one.” Des spoke as he looked over the men who seemed disappointed. His eyes laid on Haruto, ”You…Go get your things and return.” Des spoke as he turned on his heel and returned inside. He was getting irritable and needed to feed. Des closed his door behind him as he walked through the house. He didn’t want to be seen leaving the front so he walked to the back. "
