After they took the bodies away, Tedan had more or less shut down, retreating to a corner to just sit on the floor and stare blankly into space. Eventually, someone had helped him up, led him to his room and shut the door behind themselves as they left. He didn't know who it was, didn't care. Probably one of the Hunters who hadn't gone on the mission - someone that wasn't too shell-shocked to think. Once in his room, Tedan stumbled over toward the bed and fell onto it without undressing, still staring blankly. It took some time for thought to return, and then all he could think about was the mission. The way everything had gone wrong, things he might have done to help, different scenarios ... what ifs ... all of it horribly depressing.

He never wanted to move again.

At some point, Ardavan came back. That did get his attention for a moment, but when the weapon asked - in all innocence - what had happened, Tedan just shook his head slightly and didn't answer. It was too painful to think about. Too much. He'd known they could die, known this was going to be dangerous but this was the first death of someone who'd been somewhat close to him. Finally, Arda actually got worried enough about his partner to prod the trainee into at least going and getting some food. Through a series of threats and cajoling, the weapon got Tedan to change clothes and leave the room - though the sun trainee still looked more like a zombie than anything else, kind of shuffling along toward the common room in a daze. His eyes swept over the room once as he came in, uninterested. Then something caught his eye, a familiar sight ... and he stopped, looking back again. Then Tedan froze, staring, going rigid suddenly.

he concluded faintly.

Tedan jumped about a foot or two into the air at that, with a little startled almost-scream. Somehow, hallucinating Bix he could handle, but not when the "ghost" talked to him. He came back down to the ground and stared at the other Hunter for a few seconds with wide eyes. "But you ... you're ..." he stammered, not quite able to get the words out.

Tedan didn't even realize he had started crying at some point while the other was talking, the sun trainee just... had far too many emotions chasing each other around in his head at the moment. Relief, disbelief, perhaps a slight sense of betrayal... though he knew none of it was Bix's fault. After a moment or two, he tried to get control of himself, sniffling slightly. "I ... I'm sorry b-but. You were. I saw them take your body away. How did you ... come back?"

Tedan shuddered slightly at that, not wanting to even imagine something like that happened. Waking up on a cold slab in the morgue ... it must have been horrible. He had to wonder who would punch Bix over it, though. It wasn't his fault. None of this was. "Caelius ... did he come back too?" he wondered out loud, not truly asking if Bix knew that or not but just ... curious. He'd been hiding in his room for too long to know about any recent developments.

"I ... y-yea. I'll be okay ..." Tedan replied after a moment, though he couldn't help hunching into himself just a little bit. "Sorry. I know that it's dangerous and all but..." he didn't bother to finish the sentence, the thoughts that had been running around in his head the past few days probably all too evident already. He felt like he should be stronger than this. Should be able to handle it better, somehow. And it made him uncomfortable, looking back on it, that he'd broken down so completely.

Tedan bit his lip slightly at that and nodded, trying not to feel so bad about his little breakdown the last few days. "Yea ... I don't think I can get used to that. But maybe I can try to get better at ... moving on, I guess." He hated the thought of it - didn't want to just keep going and act like nothing had happened, but he supposed that's what was expected of them. To keep going and keep fighting no matter what.

Tedan nodded solemnly at Bix's words about not everyone being able to come back. He knew for sure that if he ever died, he didn't expect to come back. Even though he ... sort of had. But that had all been a huge elaborate test, more than anything else. And he still felt a bit awkward around the others from back then, since he'd woken up later than they had.

At the mention of ice cream, his eyes lit up though and the Sun trainee nodded. "Sounds really good, actually." Pushing himself forward to the edge of the couch, he got up and waited for Bix to join him.
