 Another day at the race track! The cub could barely contain his excitement. This time his mother was down there working and allowed for him to sit in the stands until she was done. Before it got closer to the time for the race to start, she had even let him stay with her for a bit as she checked over some of the cheetahs. Once it got closer, however, he had been sent to sit in the spot he was in now. It was close enough to where he could see his mom off on the side and she could see him, but not close enough for him to be hurt by one of the racers. He pawed at the ground anxiously, waiting for the race to begin.

 Ru'yah wasn't acting like she normally did today. Indeed, today she was feeling excited and happy. Ready to cheer on the cheetahs. She had learned from here and there that the cheetahs were going to race each other, and Ru'yah wanted to see them race! She hadn't seen such a thing before, it was exciting. She was now sitting in the stands, currently next to a cub. She turned to the small creature sitting next to her and smiled as she spoke. "Your excited too, aren't you?"

Baldric looked when he heard someone speak to him and the first thing he noticed was the green legs next to him. He trailed his eyes up to see the black lioness that was next to him. He didn't recognize her from around the pride and wondered if she had come just to watch the race. "Yeah!" he replied with a grin, "Is this your first race?"

Ru'yah nodded. "I've never seen a cheetah race before. This 'ought to be exciting." She scanned the racing cheetahs, observing their different designs and patterns. "You make it sound like they race all the time... Do they?" She asked the cub curiously.

"They are always exciting," he replied, looking down to see what was happening. "Sometimes; they do smaller races to see who gets to race in the big ones." He watched as his mother led one of the cheetahs to the starting point.

"It must be fun for them then. Cheetah's like to run after all." Ru'yah could never maintain such energy that the cheetahs seemed to have. She'd have bursts of speed maybe every other month, but overall Ru'yah's lazy personalty often kept her from running. She'd much rather lie down and have a nap.

"Yeah," Baldric replied thoughtfully, "I think they like it. They get to run and they get special treatment to make sure they are taken care off," There was a bit of awe in his voice as he spoke of the cheetahs. "At least that's why my mom says anyway."

It might have been a question that Ru'yah could have answered herself, but she enjoyed having a little child amusingly tell her about the woes of this pride. "If cheetah's race all day, what do the lions do? Other than sit and watch them."

Baldric smiled up at the lioness, glad that he could sort of answer the questions she had. "Some lions become healers and help out the cheetahs, some own the cheetahs that race, and some become breeders; I think they match the cheetahs up some how. My mom's a healer and my dad's a breeder," he stated proudly.

Oh? So the pride was all about cheetahs and keeping them healthy for racing. Interesting. Ru'yah had never heard of a pride like this before, it was very different from some of the other prides she had visited. "What do you think your going to grow up to be then?" She asked, still very curious about the pride.

Baldric hummed and pawed at the ground under his feet. "I don't know," he told her with a small shrug of his shoulders, "I don't think I would want to be a cheetah's owner, but I might be a breeder. Dad says I still got time to decide." The small cub turned his yellow eyes up at her. "What are you gonna be?"

Ru'yah hadn't been sure if she was going to actually join the pride. Certainly she had considered it, but actually joining? This cub, that look he had just given her... The hopeful glint he had in his eye that Ruyah had found this place appealing enough to call home... "Hmm... Good question... Maybe I'll be healer like your mom is." She smiled back at the small cub. She now was considering joining the pride for real. Not just some dream of hers, but a possible reality. The idea of Ru'yah helping be a nurse seemed like a dream that exisited far, far away from here. And yet, here she had the oppertunity to do such a thing. It would be a new style of life for her, working constantly. Nah, that was too much effort. If she joined... No, when she joined, she'd probably find something more suited to her... Relaxed nature...

Baldric grinned up at the lioness; he still didn't know who she was but she had been kind to him. He was glad she was considering a rank in the pride; that must have meant she was going to join since he was now pretty sure that she wasn't a member yet, just a visitor watching the race. "Cool! I'm sure you'll be great at it, if you do."

Ru'yah continued to smile kindly. She then glanced back to the race track before she quickly looked at the cub again. The race was just about to start now. She needed to get one last thing off her mind before she watched it with her excited companion. "My name is Ru'yah. What's yours?"

"Nice to meet ya," the cub replied, laying down for a bit. He would rest his legs from standing for a bit and hopefully be back up soon before the race started. "My name's Baldric."
