How in the world did she actually get roped into this? A giggle in her head and she 'suddenly' remembered. She had used those bad, bad words; 'I promise' to Loveth. Muttering under her breath, Aislin tugged at a lock of hair. She really needed to stop saying that to her crimson. Sooner or later she was going to end up promising something she couldn't do. And now...now she had to..to..to ask someone for help. You can do it, mine~! Just show her that you're interested! The reassurance laced with amusement was quite clear in the voice egging her on. Then it suddenly changed. Bedsides, you don't spend enough time with the others. I would like to spend more time with my sisters and brothers if you please.
Wrinkling her nose, she tried not to shift around in shame. She had been somewhat...out of character lately, not spending much time around anyone. So now Loveth was sending her to the one person she knew of that could help. 'I still think this is ridiculous. I'm a harper! Harper! I can't do this!' Of course you can't. You don't know how. Yet. Sapphire eyes narrowed slightly as she looked at the ground. Besides, when has that ever stopped you before? The red-head was silent before sticking her tongue out in a very child-like manner towards the crimson walked at her side. Trust Loveth to have a point when she wasn't expecting it.
"Fine, fine. You win. Again." Tucking her pipes into her belt, Aislin took a deep breath before standing up straight. She could do this. It wasn't like she was marching off to into the Sands while a displeased Gold was there with her eggs. A shiver ran down her spine at the thought before she shook her head. This would be easy! And thankfully the other weyrling wouldn't bite. A smirk tugged at her lips; unless she asked nicely that is. Mine! Opps. "Sorry, sorry. Lost my train of thought there."
Chuckling, she gave Loveth an affectionate pat before heading towards her target. "Dizzian!" Aislin called out to the slightly younger girl, a hand raising in greeting. Hoping to keep her attention for a moment, she sprinted closer and gave the brunette a friendly grin. "Hello! And hello to you too Courath, you're looking dazzling today." She gave a bow of her head to the green before her eyes drifted back to the rider. "How are you two? I've been hearing all kinds of things about your adventures."
Loveth was not in much of a rush to end this friendly meet-up, not as much as Aislin was. She really couldn't seem to ask for help with much. Still very much amused at her rider, she couldn't hide it from lacing her excited greeting to the green pair. Hello again, Courath~ It is always a pleasure to see you. And it's nice to see you again as well Dizzian! The pale crimson was just beside herself about getting to see them, and she was never one for holding back affection. Aislin couldn't help the chuckle as she gave an affectionate head nuzzle to both Dizzian and Courath. "I don't think she'll ever grow out of that. At least she's not attempting to climb into anyone's laps anymore."

Dizzian was beside herself with glee. Instead of a chore block Dizzian had been given time to work on the pads for Courath's riding straps(it was productive!). Wool pads was all she'd been given to work with for an idea. As such, Dizzian had grabbed a little bit of everything from her stash and tied it up in a blanket along with Courath's scrub brushes and a bag of sweetsand for later.
Sprawled on the ground around her were various tools of the trade, a bound bundle of knitting and crochet needles of various sizes, a small pin cushion with sewing needles and thread, too many balls of yarn to count, as well as two knitting looms. One of which was in Dizzian's lap where she sat within the cradle of Courath's arms in the sun. Also beside her were the practice straps she'd been given for reference, each bearing small chalk marks where the straps rested against Courath's shoulders.
Dizzian was bright and focused as she worked with the small rectangular lap loom. She barely noticed when Courath brushed her mind with a gentle ~ Someone's coming mine. ~
Despite the warning Dizzian still managed to jump when her name was called out. She looked up from her work startled and raised a hand in automatic response to the greeting. Her face broke into a grin not much later when she saw who'd come to pay her a visit. Even if the features of the rider were blurry at a distance there was no mistaking the crimson who walked by her side. "Aislin! Loveth!" She set her stuff aside and clambered to her feet to greet her fellow weyrling properly.
"We're doing great now! How have you and Loveth been? I haven't seen much of you two recently?" It wasn't surprising, their small clutch had been scattered to the winds with the sudden influx of people. It didn't make it any less easy though. She laughed and gave Loveth's eye ridges a quick scratch as she got nuzzled by the crimson. "True enough! That kinda got disastrous after a while didn't it?!"
Courath lifted her head and thrummed happily upon seeing her larger clutchmate. She returned the nuzzle briefly with a touch of her nose. ~ It's good to see you as well Loveth! I'm glad you were able to find us. We've missed you. ~

Mine has been hiding about wishing she had a fighting dragon. Aislin blinked before sputtering about. "What? No!" It took her a moment to realize Loveth had been teasing her which caused a slight flush to appear on her cheeks. "Bah, don't listen to her. I have no been hiding or anything. Just.." A hand reached up and rubbed the back of her neck. "Crimson pairs have to make that difficult choice, so we've been off doing that. But other than that we've been good!"
Chuckling at the memories of Loveth's past attempts of climbing into people's memories, she gave a smirk at the pale dragon. "I was pretty sure I'd end up with an imprint of her in my lap forever." Her eyes shifted and saw what the other had been working on. Oh, riding straps? And other things that she did not recognize.
I dragged mine out of her pouting just because I missed everyone so much! And it showed, Loveth was practically glowing with excitement and of course affection for the greenpair. I haven't seen anyone else yet, but I'll make sure we do so. Oh, and I think we will be making a point to come see you and yours more often, right Aislinmine?
Oh yes, now she was reminded of why they came. "Yessss." She drawled, snapping her eyes back to the other rider. "About that, I came to ask you a favor. Well...Loveth made me come ask you for a favor." A sheepish grin touched her lips as she shifted about uncomfortably. "Since we won't actually be doing much fighting, Loveth suggested that I take up a new hobby." Eyes glittered in amusement as she stuck her tongue out at the pale crimson again. "She seems to forget I was harper raised and suggested I take up knitting. It seems she remembered that you were a weaver. Which I'm not quite sure how she remembered that, but I guess she was right."
Her hand waved to indicate the tools spread out on the ground. Another embarrassed blush appeared on her cheeks. "So I was wondering..if um..you would mind teaching me? Maybe? If not that's fine and I completely understand.." Could she get any more flustered? Jeez, she really should stop letting Loveth talk her into these things.

~ You have made your decision then? ~ From the context Courath knew what it was. Her eyes whirled with pleasure and she crooned warmly. ~ While I regret I won't be flying by your side I am happy for you Loveth. Someday in the future I will fly proudly with your children. ~ Courath was a lucky dragon insofar as she saw it. Unlike some greens she had felt no desire to clutch and bear children of her own. She did not regret the color of her hide. When the time came she would rise, be caught, and get on with her life. The recent Flights had given her a taste of what that might feel like and it stirred no interest or longing within her just yet.
~ Devith often keeps me company. I see Gementh and Solath on occasion as well. I haven't seen much of Empreth, Tessth, Wofth, Rioth, or Hamanth. Hermith generally keeps to herself and of course Magith is no longer among us. ~ Though she rattled through their clutchmates casually her calm tone shifted to one of sad regret at the mention of their lost brother.
She brightened though a moment later. Courath was not one to dwell upon something she couldn't change. ~ Yes we must get together more often. Even if it's just to catch up over a bath or meal. ~
Dizzian was unable to answer Aislin for a few moments as Courath chatted away. It was strange for her green to be so incredibly talkative. Maybe she had been neglecting her in a way by not searching out more female attention? Really while they saw the other weyrlings the only person Dizzian had actually spent time with was Hekate. Since the Revolution she hadn't much had the drive to reconnect with all of her old friends... even S'kiro had been missing from her life though she'd seen Neptanth not too long ago.
"I..wha.." She returned to the conversation at hand with a blink and listened as Aislin turned shy. The corner of Dizzian's mouth turned up into a grin as the crimsonrider stumbled through her request. When she was finished Dizzian glared putting on her best offended look. "Ugh No! Why would I do something like that?!" She fought to keep a straight face as she acted disgusted by the thought. "Of COURSE I'd love to teach you to knit!" She spat the accepting words as angrily as she could before dissolving into giggles. She could never keep that up for long but Aislin's adorable blush insisted that Dizzian at least try.

Yes. This is how I will protect those I care about. The recent crimson Flight had shown her what to expect and it was a bit...intimidating, Loveth couldn't see herself challenging the males like that. She was too much a sweetheart. I would be proud to have my children fly with you Courath. Of course she would! Who better to teach her children than her green sister?
Devith and his have been busy. If what hers had told her was true. They'd cause quite a stir around the Weyr. I am glad to hear that so many of our clutchmates are doing well. At the mention of Magith, however, her eyes whirled sadly. Loveth would always find losing someone to be mournful. That was just one less around for her to care about, and she was all about the caring.
She brightened up right alongside Courath as she began speaking once more. Oh yes! That would be lovely~
Aislin was uncomfortable. The moment she had stopped talking, Dizzian had gotten this...look. Shifting around, she waited for the other to respond. And respond she did. Eyes widened as the girl seemed repulsed at the thought of teaching her. What just happened? Of course, after a moment, she decided she didn't have to be yelled at. It was just a request. Which of course meant that her temper started to flare up and just as she opened her mouth to say something, Loveth quickly shushed her.
Flicking her gaze to her bondmate, she let it sizzle back down in time to hear the last of Dizzian's response. Oh...oh! Annnd cue the being laughed at. "I-ah. Er..." And then she was giggling right along. "You had me there for a moment. I was trying to figure out why you were yelling at me." And then she realized she actually was going to teach her. "Oh! Thank you! Maybe Loveth will leave me alone about the knitting thing now." A wide grin tugged at her lips and she felt her body relax. What had she been so worried about?

Dizzian tried to control her face as she grinned a little sheepishly. "Sorry Aislin, I couldn't resist. I shouldn't have been mean." She bounced on her toes and looked around at the mess of stuff she had laying about. "Umm... When did you want to start? I've got time now if you're not busy. I got my stuff with me too! I mean, I'm not a Journeyman or anything. Just an apprentice. But I can show you the basics. I mostly knit and crochet. So it won't be so much fabric making... But I can do a lot of garments and people like rugs too." She was rambling in her excitement.
Dizzian hoped that the crimson rider would have time to sit with her now. It wouldn't hurt her any to show Aislin a few things while she worked on her own project, and the company would be nice too. If not though they could always ask the Weyrlingmaster to have time as a chore slot. It wasn't Aislin's chosen craft but they might be willing to let it slide if Dizzian asked really nicely.
Courath thrummed, her eyes whirling with her rider's excitement. ~ So does this mean you'll not be taking lessons with the rest of us? ~ Courath had never really considered it but Loveth wouldn't be able to preform the firestone lessons. ~ No... ~ She answered her own question. ~ You'll still need to learn to fly and between with the rest of us I suppose. ~ She shook her head at her own lapse. ~ I have heard our flying lessons will be coming up soon. ~

"No worries, I can take a joke." She grinned back and gave Dizzian a shrug of her shoulders. Her eyes then landed on the tools of Dizzian's trade. Well..it looked like knitting would indeed keep her busy if she was able to learn it. Aislyn didn't know if she should be glad or not that Loveth was right. Blinking, she realized the other girl was talking again and snapped her attention back to Dizzian. "Now? I have nothing going on at the moment, I would love to start now."
A pause. "Besides, it'll give those two a chance to catch up. That way Loveth might be distracted from me failing so badly." She smirked and motioned for Dizzian to proceed with the teaching. It wouldn't hurt to start now, that way maybe she'd be able to have made some progress by the time they graduated. Hopefully. And, hey, maybe she'll be able to make something for the greenrider as a thank-you. She had to show her appreciation somehow. But...maybe she should wait until she was able to actually do the knitting first.
Of course I'll be at all the lessons. Even the ones that I won't have to be at. Just to cheer everyone on. Loveth would make an excellent cheerleader. I cannot wait to fly. I know mine wants to do so very badly. Especially since we will not be fighting. Though I've noticed that not everyone is as excited about flying. Aislin said that some people are afraid of flying! This has the pale crimson snorting in amusement. What a silly thing to be afraid of.
[[I am soooo sorry! I hadn't noticed that you replied! DDD:]]

(( It's alright biggrin ! ))
Dizzian grinned and shook her head. "It's kinda hard to fail at knitting once you get the basics down. Really once you know the basic stitches it's just about keeping them all the same size and learning the patterns." She kicked some of her stuff around and made room for Aislin to sit. "It's kinda silly in Trine's weather but the easiest thing to make if you're just starting is a scarf or a blanket." She plopped herself back down beside Courath where she'd been before.
The bundle of needles was picked up and two larger sets drawn out. "You can pick whatever color of yarn you want. I got plenty."
~ I can't imagine being afraid of flying.~ Courath's tone was almost wistful. ~It seems a bit odd that they would try to Impress if they are afraid of flying...~ She gave a mental chuckle. ~ It rather comes with the territory!~
