Jaiden's side of the room has multitudes of shelves on every wall, upon each sits a multitude of small jewels. The lights on her side of the room 'mysteriously' dissapeared, and are replaced with candles of various scents, all of which are replaced before they can truly be burned down all the way. Her bed is covered in a simple black sheet, though the mattress itself is extremely soft, almost to the point of sinking into it. One desk sits without gems, instead a mortar and pestle and various herbs and spices lay out both on top of and inside of it.

Altair's side of the room is fairly clean. The walls are littered with posters of her favorite things. Her bed is a complete mess, though. Pillows and blankets everywhere, and stuffed animals galore. Her shelves seemed to be entirely filled with sketchbooks...

She hadn't grown that long ago, but she had managed to convince her parents to let her move into the dorms. Which was good. Not as much over protective Papa to keep an eye on like... everything.
Altair pushed the door to her shared dorm room open and then shuffled inside, dragging a rolling suitcase behind her. She knew her Mama and Papa had already moved the rest of her things in, but was surprised to see the other side of the room already decorated. Huh.
She walked over to her bed, and climbed up onto it, abandoning the suitcase next to her nightstand. Well, she hoped whoever she was sharing the room with was nice... at least they had a good taste in collections!

Jaiden hadn't expected a wild roommate to have appeared in the dorm room as 'she' opened the door into where she'd be living for the next... while. Indeed, if it was not for Kaiden's sudden cry out as they entered the room, they likely would have gotten farther before noticing Altair on sitting upon her bed.
However, Kaiden's 'silent' cry caused Jaiden to look around, first eyeballing xer shelves and then looking at Altair, blinking a few times in response to the information xe just found out - about a roommate who had appeared. The shock was over quickly however, and xe lifted a hand to wave at Altair, "Hello," xe put on a sale's woman's neutral voice, "My name is Jaiden. Are you going to be my dormmate?"

Altair glanced up at the door... Oh, there was the roommate... at least she looked nice? Altair waved back.
"Hi. I'm Altair... and it looks like it. I'll prolly spend a lot of time back home though so..." She trailed off, shrugging a little. "Needy parents... have you been in here long?"

Jaiden moved over to the bed on her side, sitting down and letting herself sink into the squishy softness. "Needy parents iiick." She smirked, shaking her head, "My mother only likes for us to visit once every few weeks, since she has to stop working for the day if I'm around."
Kaiden inwardly yelled at Jaiden for the 'us' comment, and Jaiden shut her eyes tight, "As for being here long... mm. Long enough that I know this is going to be a lot of fun." She gave a grin that showed her teeth, before looking over at Altair's side of the room, "Lots of books and stuffed animals... cute." She nodded a few times as she thought aloud.

Altair blinked a little, noting the "us." She had her mother's observation skills, after all... but simply brushed it off as "must have siblings" or something. "You have siblings, huh? I have a twin sister, Kindle... I don't think she moved in yet." She grinned a little. "I hope its fun, otherwise it would've been a waste to pester my Papa for so long to get my own room." She rolled her eyes a little.

"Yes, siblings... yes." Jaiden nods a few times, looking around the room some more, making sure all of xer ~things~ were untouched, "You really wanted to get a room that bad? I'm sorry you don't have your ~own~ one then. Though if you'd like I could probably get some kind of sheet to hang between us." She wondered what having a roommate would be like, at least as to how Kaiden would deal with it.
"What do you ~do~ for fun, Altair?"

Altair shrugged a little. "This room's bigger than the one me 'n Kindle shared so... its okay." She grinned and waved a hand at her multitude of sketchbooks. "I like to draw a lot... and read, but sometimes I like just being outside. But mostly drawing." She nodded a little. "What about you, Jaiden?"

"Ooh, drawing. I'd never have the patience to learn how to do that, if I may admit." She smirked, moving her hands into the air to indicate around her, "I collect jewels, gems, and other beautiful objects. I'm also a bit of a salesman, and I'm rather knowledgeable about games, and fashion due to that. You'll find that under my bed there are a large amount of card games, board games, and even video games, some that my mother has bought for me, and others that I earned on my own, and my closet has quite a few dresses and suits that I've never worn, nor never plan to."
She indicated over to the desk with the herbs upon it, "I also collect plants, and due to having a bit of a habit of overestimating myself, have been taught to create some poultices to help with when I get injured. Reading is also common, though with the library here I have found no reason to bring any!" She wasn't exactly lying - she may not like those things, but Kaiden certainly did, and it was easier to explain away the times with Kaiden taking charge to do those things, instead of not mentioning it until Altair brought it up.

Well... Jaiden certainly seemed to have a lot og sophisticated interests... she must have a rich mother or something. "That all sounds pretty cool. I don't know a whole lot about rocks 'n stuff but I think I'm gonna take like... a geology class or somethin', if they offer it online anyway. I don't like classrooms... too stuffy." She shrugged a little. That and her Papa always seemed to make them sound terrible.

Jaiden nodded, her eyes focused on Altair for a few moments as she seemed to ponder something. She then proceeded to move towards one of the shelves, and a small gem fell to her hand as her shadow ran over it. She then proceeded to turn around, moving back over to Altair, "If you'd like to learn geology, I can assist to the best of my abilities." She offered over the small blue stone, "This was one of the first gems I ever got, it originally was from a necklace that I found when I was very young. It's called a Boulder Opal, and is very pretty in my opinion."

Altair tilted her head to one side, noting the shadow doing the moving. "D'you make shadows move? My Papa talks to shadows." She grinned a little, that was something familiar. She took the stone, looking it over. "This is really pretty... hey, any advice on learning stuff that I can get is good advice, I think." She grinned and handed the stone back.

Jaiden smiled as Altair looked it over, happy that someone could understand the value of knowledge of such lovely gems. "My shadow eh? You're very observant, aren't you?" She took the stone back, and moved back to set it on the shelf, "My powers mostly involve the Spirits though, not the shadows." She winked, "I'll be setting up my labels for the shelves soon, and then each stone will be marked with what it is and where it's from to the best of my knowledge. That should be useful for learning about the world and beautiful gems."

"Mama's the really observant one, but she taught me to watch stuff, too." She shrugged a little, and grinned. Compliments were always nice. "What kind of spirits? Like... dead people spirits?" She tilted her head, wearing a curious expression.
