Horus watched as the sun began it's slow descent in the sky. He had been preparing for this night for ages...It was going to be time to do what he needed. Somewhere, not far from here Absolem was lurking--a character in his book. Absolem had information, had somethign that Horus wanted and as of yet, he had found no way to get it.
Until now.
Tonight is the night of All Hallow's Eve. Every year, legend was told of a mysterious tunnel who threw together couples and twisted their children. So it was through this that Horus came up with his plan.
He would lead Absolem, and the nearest female he could find to the tunnel by weakening them with his Kalona magic. When they were close enough, he would let them free from it and then they would be powerless to resist the ways of the Tunnel.
Foals would be conceived and if Horus could get his hands on them, he would take one and keep it as leverage. But if not, he would pretend to have the foal in order to make Absolem give him what he wanted. There was no doubt in Horus' mind that Absolem would concede under the circumstances.
Rising up, he stretched his long legs and fluttered his wings.
"Avia, dear," he addressed his "pet". "I'll be back before morning. Stay here, I have business to attend." Without waiting for a word or any sign of obedience, he left knowing she would obey.
Spreading his wings, he took to the skies.

Avia had been resting her muzzle on her crossed front limbs where she lay next to Horus. While Horus was silently watching the sunset, she too watched it blaze across the skyline, but as was usual, she was not quite being silent. She was humming. Her melodic voice drifted through the air, caught on the wind and carried a little ways away. It was not loud, and it was pleasant to listen to, so it usually didn't bother Horus, unless he was in a state. But with how hard he seemed to be concentrating on something else entirely, as far as Avia could tell, he didn't even hear she was doing it.
So when he stood up all of a sudden and took off with hardly a good bye, Avia started. Jerking her head back and tilting it upward so she could look at him better, she nodded obediently and said nothing aloud but in her mind she was asking a million and three questions. Business? What business? Where? With whom? And most of all, why wasn't she to come with?
All these crazy-girlfriend questions milled in her head as she watched him deftly spread his wings and take off, but it took her another minute or so to gather up the courage and make her decision.
She was going to follow him.

The riveluts of water dripped down Galla's muzzle as she stood poised listening for sound. She could have sworn, she heard something. But nothing was out there. Her ears flicked slightly, but she made no other movement. There wasn't anything to worry about.
Leaning down, she took another long draught to cool her parched throat. She had wandered far tonight, seeking some solace and on the hunt to bring back a male. She wasn't expected back for a day or two at most, so no one would worry for her. She was safe to take her time.
Her ears flicked up again, but the night was still silent, very silent. It was unnatural. Not a cricket churp, nothing. Someone was there...
Flexing her talons, she prepared to attack.

Horus folded his wings in neatly as he landed. Leaves rustled as he stopped. He watched the mare in the clearing, her eyes alert and wary. She wasn't afraid--she wasn't the type.
Things could be interesting real quick. Now...if only Abselom would show up....

The large stallion's hooves fell slowly as he wandered without purpose through the forest.The...herbs he had been smoking earlier were more potent than he was normal used to. It caused for a welcome distraction, such on a night as this one. Hallow's eve. Normally a Soquili like himself would want to be in the clearest of minds to take on anything that the haunting night would dare to throw at him. However, if it was in his fate to fall on this night, he doubted that a clearer mind would do him any more good. And this way, he was relaxed.
