A race was coming up in the Makano pride but not just any race because just any race wasn't really that big to Mavi. The race coming up Mavi wouldn't be working she would be there in the stands routing for her cheetah. Her best friend Per'roth whom she considered family not property. Today she was meeting up with Per to make sure she was doing well in her training and make sure her health was good. Being a healer Mavi was always concerned with the health of the individuals closest to her heart.Nina was elated with joy to be following after her mother at the moment because she would be going to her first race. She had begged and pleaded with her mother and finally she had agreed that her and her brother could go to Per's race and today she was being allowed to join her mother in meeting up with Per. She really liked Per a lot. She was one of her favorite cheetah's of all and she was planning to scream Per's name at the race. She was Per's biggest and smallest fan.
At the moment she was trotting along side her mother doing her best to keep up and not slow her mom down.]

 As race day got closer and closer the cheetahess was on pins and needles. This would be her first big race since she'd joined up with the lioness. She was excited, eager, and a whole bunch nervous. Mavi's training she had no doubt in, it was herself. It hadn't helped any that she'd been utterly distracted by the lioness' birth and cubs. Per'roth pranced in place to help relieve her nerves.
She glanced around knowing the lioness would be showing up soon. When she didn't materialize within a couple of minutes the purple cheetah gave a sigh. Rather than standing around here, jumping, and looking like she had flees Per decided a run to stretch would help. She went ahead and did a couple laps around the exercise track. Stretching and flexing as much as possible to be sure everything was in fine working order. When she returned her nerves had settled somewhat and she was panting slightly.

Mavi wasn't too far off after Per got back to the meeting spot. She walked up to her and smiled. "Good morning Per! Haven't been waiting too long I hope?" She asked noting how Per was panting a bit but otherwise seemed fine. She knew Per ws nervous about the race and part of her job she felt was to keep Per calm and not to let her work herself up too much over the race.Nina was so excited to be with her mom and Per that she was bouncing between her mom and Per's feet. She would stop long enough just to swat as Per's tail or her mom's depending on who she was behind at that time. Finally after a few moments she came to a stop between the two females and looked up at Per. "Oh I'm so excited for your race Per!"

The purple cheetahess gave a laugh at the cub's energy. "Perhaps you should race for me?" She nudged the young cub thinking of the young lion cub she'd met recently. They would get along marviously she thought. Well soon enough; she could mention it after the race.

Mavi smiled at Per and nodded. "Oh good good. You've been in good health with no sicknesses or injuries. I'm looking forward to seeing you smoke the other racers." Mavi was being playful with her last comment. She winked at Per. She really felt as though Per was close family member like a close sister. She would never allow anyone to do damage to her cheetah sister.Nina's jaw dropped at Per's statement then she began to bounce in place. "REALLY?! I would so race for you!" She exclaimed and her expression then glazed over as she entered a day dream of herself racing among all the other cheetah's down the track. Oh she could totally pull it off.magnadearel Yeah she has. ^^ They were pretty good together despite the fact Nina was a little grumpy in the rp. XD

Per gave a purr at the confidence Mavi showed in her. She could totally have them eating her dust. "Hahah I've had the best care." The purple cheetahess grinned broadly at the wink. "Have you got your spots to watch all picked out?" She wanted to know where they'd be so she could put on an extra effort in that spot.
Amusement filled her eyes as she watched Nina bouncing everywhere. "You would? Oh good! I can go nap now." Per gave a huge, fake yawn then laughed. "After the race, if I'm not too tired I'll take you down there and you can go one on one with me." She utterly enjoyed the lions cubs.

Mavi chuckled at Per's statement. "That's true you have. You have no need to be nervous just because of that." She told her purple cheetah friend. "We were thinking about mid way down the track so we can see you running right at your top speed." She replied and then laughed at Per's statement to Nina. "Don't give her any idea's she might actually try to race for you."Nina's eyes were wide at Per's statement of going for a nap and letting her race. "I will race for you! Just give me a chance!" She exclaimed in utter excitement. It would just be a dream but she could pretend she was racing in Per's place all she liked. When Per told her she would go one on one with her afterwards if she wasn't too tired Nina practically squeed. "YAY!" She started bounding through Mavi and Per's leg again unable to contain all her excitement of getting to watch a race upclose and a possible chance to be on the track with Per. The day of the race was going to be the best day ever!

"Excellent choice," Per gave a nod then leaned down to Nina. "You'll have to watch extra carefully. If you blink you'll miss me!" She laughed. Now she grinned at her friend. "Ho not bent on healing then?"
At the cub's offer Per turned to her. "Hmmmm well now." She put her paw at her level and measured out above the cub's head. "Oh dear, you're a bit short to stand in for me." Next she put her paw by the cub's paw, then sadly shook her head. "Oh dear oh dear. Seems you don't match my coloring. Not at all. You're mother would have a difficult time with that."

Mavi had to laugh at her daughter. She was so excited to see the race and all that it was just too sweet. She had a feeling Nina would remember this race for a very long time. After a moment she turned her gaze to Per and shook her head. "Of course not. I made a promise to a friend to cheer her on during every race she's in." Mavi stated with a smile. She had meant that promise she made. There would be plenty of races for her to work except the ones Per ran in.Nina watched eagerly as Per measured her and compared her to her cheetah self. She pouted when Per said she wasn't tall enough. "What if I stretch up on my toes?" She asked hopefully as she tried to stand on the ends of her toes. However when Per said she wasn't the right color Nina kicked a small rock with her foot in defeat. "Darn..."

The cheetah gave a fond glance to the cub. Her friend's offspring were special to her. Not to mention adorable. "It's a very good thing to keep a promise. And good luck." She winked. "So, am I fit to run this race?" This was the vital question to her.
She ruffled the cub's fur. "Not for awhile yet I think. You could always get a lion cub racing club going. I'll help if you'd like."

Mavi actually laughed at Per's comment. "I don't need luck to make sure I get to every race. I do enough to get any races I want off." She replied and then after a moment of eyeing Per she nodded to her question. "Yes. Yes you are."Nina's ears perked in surprise at the idea. "That would be really neat! We could race each other for fun!" Nina exclaimed as she bounced around excitedly. She could get Faraji, Rieslyn, Baldric and their brother she hadn't met yet into the club. It would be so much fun!

"Well you might need good luck for something else!" She stuck her tongue out at the lioness. Trust her to think of it that way.
That was what she needed to hear. Per puffed up her chest. She was going to race. And she was going to win. The cheetah gave a grateful nod to Mavi. Without her, she wouldn't be here now. Someway she wanted to repay the healer's kindness and devotion.
"Course it would! C'mon we'll talk after the race. I've gotta get ready, and you and your mama need to find good seats. Use that cute little face of yours if you have to." She winked at the cub. Then with a grin and a good luck sign, Per'roth headed off to join the gathering racers.
