User ImageWyn'tr stretched her paws towards the sky. The day had started out lovely and was continuing to be the same way. It had been a few weeks since she had last lived among the PekeNa and the thought of her old pack still brought on some sharp pain. She only hoped that time would heal her sadness and start a new life for herself. PekeNa was becoming too quiet and she longed for interaction among other wild dogs or possibly... felines. Maybe felines. Cats made her antsy.

She was content to lay on her back for a few more minutes enjoying the weather, it was colder than it had been a few days ago. She loved the colder months sometimes when it didn't effect hunting. The rogue lands were okay, if you knew where you were going to hunt and it would have been nice to have pack members to care for one another.

User Image Mitifu-Meka was out prowling the rogue lands, again. She really did love her pack, the Nyota-Wasomaji, however, their nocturnal thing drove her stir crazy sometimes. She was becoming an insomniac and because no one was ever awake in the day time, she got bored and lonely. But being that she was a Howler, one who gathered food for the more star-inclined members, it wasn't a horrible thing to venture away from the pack lands every once in a while. And she always brought back an assortment of small prey animals to feed everyone with, so she never got in trouble. It worked out for the most part.

But it was daylight right now, and Mitifu had already caught a small hare and hidden it in some little spot near the borders for when she ventured back later that night. She could afford to explore a bit and see what the rogue lands had to offer today. So far no lions, which was good. The last pair she ran into were friendly enough, but they were also so much bigger than her. It was a bit off putting to try and socialize with such a giant creature, especially if there was a chance it would try to eat you...

But wait? What was that? She wondered quietly to herself, ears perked as she saw some movement up ahead. Nose to the air she sniffed about a moment and gave a sigh of relief. Just a wild dog. That was alright. She could handle that. She made her way over to the other dog and offered a greeting, "Hello!"

Wyn jolted at the sudden voice, it was sad really that she hadn't picked up the other wild dog's scent? Ouhboy. "H-hello to you as well," Wyn'tr greeted cautiously with her tail at half-mast all the while blinking. She decided to take the first step at some conversation. Sometimes small talk was hard for her and she ended up with awkward silences. "What brings you around here?" White eyes took in the orangeness of the other females coat from her current spot that was a few feet away, it really was a pretty colour.

Mitifu stayed where she was, seeing the way the other held her tail and how she spoke. It wasn't hard to tell she was unsure of Mitifu, but this orange dog was fine with that. It wasn't like she had never met someone who seemed so apprehensive to be meeting her after all. But lucky for this other dog, Mitifu wasn't in any mood to fight this dog, nor was she on the Nyota lands posing any threats so again, no need to fight or chase her off. Right now they were in unclaimed territory.

"I was just exploring a bit more before I head back to my packlands. I was out hunting and finished early." She explained, offering a pleasant expression, trying to show she wasn't aggressive and that she was mostly friendly.

"Oh i see... Packlands?" Wyn'tr perked at the word pack. Maybe she was from PekeNa! "Your homelands wouldn't happen to be PekeNa? " Wyn didn't know many canine based packs around the lands. The other female was pleasant enough and so Wyn decided to take a leap. "I am Wyn'tr but most call me Wyn. I hope.. you are one of those who enjoys fights because let me tell you honestly. I am not much of a fighter... well I mean I have claws and I do know how to use them but I prefer not too." Her shoulder muscles rippled as a stray breeze moved her fur in the opposite direction. She moved closer to the other female and more into the sun. Sometimes it was nice to have dark fur as you warmed up very quickly... then again it could suck too and cause one to over-heat.

"Care to hang out before you head home? I could use the company but if you don't want to I would understand as well." Wyn smiled back shyly.

Mtifu perked her ears at the other female as she spoke of the PekeNa, but only shook her head, "No, I'm from the Nyota-Wasomaji. The star gazing pack. I've heard of the PekeNa though." She told Wyn with a nod. She'd met other wild dogs out and about who had been there, or who were searching for it, but she herself had never been. Nyota was her home and even if she didn't fit in quite as well as the more eccentric dogs there, she still was proud to do her duty and provide food for them.

"I only fight when I am required to defend my lands or I'm attacked while in the rogue lands, so you have no threat to fear from me." Mtifu told the other, helping to assure her she meant no harm to the darker female. "I'm Mtifu and I would love to keep you company. Perhaps you can tell me more about your pack and I can tell you more of mine." She offered with a friendly smile. Slowly but surely Mtifu had been working on her socializing techniques and she no longer was all bite and no bark, but more friendly and accepting. (Especially of dogs, lions were still not her cup of tea.)

"Oh wow," Wyn breathed out. "That sounds... so lovely! I myself enjoy a good stargazing every once in a while. Calms the soul and makes me feel at peace. They are so lovely and shiney to look at." Wyn smiled at Mtifu cutely. "It certainly sounds interesting enough but sadly I am going to remain packless for now. I just recently left Peke'Na and I need a break. Peke'Na... well it is a place of calm and quiet for me. It is not as busy as the rogue lands as I am beginning to see. We value older traditions and everyone had a place in pack hierarchy. Sadly, I wasn't there long enough to really experience everything. The quiet became too much to handle. How about you? What is your pack like Mtifu?"

A scent tickled her nose and ears twitched to the sound off in the distance. 'Rain.' She thought becoming distracted. "We should find some shelter, one that will cover our heads. I scent rain on the wind and if you can see off in the distance... the gray clouds are heading our way."

L1m3_gr33n_sh4rp13
Mtifu listened quietly as Wyn spoke, telling her about how she liked watching stars sometimes, and then about what it was like in the PekeNa. She took in all the information, but before she could respond, there was talk of rain. The orange dog lifted her nose and sniffed, a nod confirmed she smelled it to as her gaze drifted off to the angry clouds rolling in off the horizon. "Shelter sounds like a good idea, there's a little spot with rocks that hang over head this way."

Once she had lead the darker femme to the spot she intended, Mtifu found herself a place to sit and nestled in before finally speaking in reply to Wyn's questions. "The Nyota pack is very interesting. They prefer to stay up all night and sleep through the day. I find issues with that philosophy at times, so I wander some days. But when I am there, which is most often, I spend my nights hunting food. Some of my packmates are, well.. a little strange and spend their lives studying the stars and reading into their meanings, so they do not find time to hunt. I help provide all the young and the unable with food."

"I will follow you then," Wyn said unhurriedly as she calmly walked forward trying to find a suitable area to walk the rain come down and one that was big enough to cover both of them comfortably. "I love the rain, it makes everything smell so...fresh. Oh-" A shocked laugh escaped her before she could take it back. Sleep during the day and awake all night? How interesting, it was different and she wasn't knocking it...Wyn just never thought of it quite like that.

"Oh, that is a good thing," Wyn nodded before pausing before an overhang. "A noble job indeed to help those that can not help themselves. This must be the place?" Wyn looked at Mtifu questioningly. "And it seems we are just in time." Her ear flickered when two droplets landed on the tip of her left ear.

L1m3_gr33n_sh4rp13
Mtifu smiled and nodded as she quickly lead the other under the cover of the rocks and took a seat, curling her tail around her legs, glad to have avoided getting completely soaked by the rain. "Yes, well. I don't quite fit in with those who study the stars and spend all their time charting and explaining them. I cannot even remember any of their names, let alone how to tell one from the other. I'm more brawn." She explained with a chuckle. She knew she wasn't unintelligent, but sometimes, listening to the Star Watchers and Trackers talk about what the heavens told them, it made her feel dizzy and lost. Mtifu was just more of a act first think later kind of dog, and she never really cared too much what the stars were trying to say.

"It's hard to deal with being awake all night though. I was born a rogue to a huge family and my mother loved playing with us in the sun, letting the light soak into our cream and orange colored coats as we skipped, played and ran. So, getting use to the dark and the cool has been difficult, but that's why I venture out here sometimes, to get out of the packs habit and have a little me time in the sun... or rain, I guess." She added as she looked up as the sky began to pour down heavily.

Wyn'tr shook off the stray droplets of rain and sighed happy they had found an overhang. It wasn't much but it would do for now. It wasn't like they would be there for a long while. The sky over the hill looked like it was clear. A passing rain cloud, which was good for the earth. "Have to have a little of everything?" Wyn smiled and winked at her companion. "If we were all the same, it would be quite boring! Sometimes I wish I were physically stronger, but nothing is impossible. I would have to train myself more." The sound of rain hitting outside was relaxing and the smells... mmm. Everything was alive. "Looks like we won't have to hide in here much longer, it appears to be clearing up."

Sometimes it was times like these that gave Wyn a time of reflection and comfort. Sitting down she looked at her companion and then looked outward to the forest. It was very lovely indeed. She could sit here for a little while long and talk. Talking was enjoyable and she had all the time in the world. Anything was possible.
