Even if she was injured, even if she was a bunch of other things, Ofelia still found that she didn't like staying idle and she was going to go out and exercise - with or without the added wonderful healing whatever bs of her weapon. Rue was silent in her head still, even if they were back or whatever everyone was saying, and the rate her injuries were healing seemed to have the teen thinking the weapon was gone.
There was no love lost there, no tears shed, but part of Ofelia might have been wishing for something better as she laced up a pair of sneakers she got from the quartermaster. It wasn't fun to run on the sand barefoot anymore, at least not while her shoulders were so torn up it felt like someone was punching her in the arms with each stride, and sneakers sort of helped against the ground even if her feet got all sandy. Mostly at the end of the run she'd take the sneakers off and dip her feet in the water, at least that was her plan, and as the red-head moved out of her temp-stay room in the infirmary she gingerly stretched her arms above her head.
It hurt like hell, she totally regretted doing so, and with a heavy exhale she watched her breath steam up into the gray morning skies. Super early, super cold, she decided it was the best time to be out. She wouldn't really run into anyone, not that she wouldn't mind the jogging company, but at least she didn't have to explain things. Her steps carried her outside and towards the beach, all the while her fingers stiffly moving to braid her loose hair into something more manageable. It would ache when it slapped her back but at least she wouldn't be choking on it.
Once she reached the beach she glanced around, listening to the cries of the seabirds and the lapping of the waves, and started to faintly stretch. Even injured she'd want to warm up, right?Pales howdy my friend! this is for you!

Jude had woken up earlier than usual, but not because he wanted to. Sleeping was one of those things sometimes eluded him no matter how much he enjoyed sleeping. Finding that he didn't want to sleep anymore he simply dressed up to go out into the wild cold yonder of the beach.
He stood just out of reach of the waters that lapped the shores; he simply let his thoughts chase each other in a ceaseless circle. Not all of the thoughts were terrible and most of them were memories of things past - memories that he treasured and thus welcome and soothing. Jude wasn't going to suddenly cry at any rate.
As he looked away from the waters he saw a figure off toward the semi-distance seeming in the midst of stretching or something similar. Jude, for now, decided he ought to leave them be.

She was still stretching, still moving around normally, when Ofelia thought something caught the corner of her eye. It wasn't really anything she expected to see but then again what was there really out here? She wasn't the only person on the Island who might like to get up and run early, not to mention she certainly wasn't the only person on the Island, but her mind and eye were both fighting over whether or not she needed to think about the figure either being real or imaginary.
This wasn't the fog, she wasn't insane, so there was a very high chance they were real? Ofelia wasn't wearing her jacket, she never did on jogs because she assumed she wouldn't need it, and she narrowed her eye to see if this figure was wearing one. It seemed a little silly to try and place people based on the symbols on their jackets and if they had a jacket but whatever. Deus made things ridiculous, Ofelia decided beating around the bush was stupid, and so she finished up the last of her stretching and decided to fix the problem.
She totally started jogging over towards the person she thought she may or may not have seen. And by jogging she was actually sprinting as fast as she could go and still ignore the screaming pain her body was putting her through.

He wasn't really expecting to have the other figure to run closer toward him. If anything he expected to be ignored or even passed by. Not that he wanted to be left alone in particular or even that the company would be unwelcome. Jude turned himself toward the oncoming figure so as to acknowledge them.
If they ran past him he'd probably feel a bit foolish, but he'd get over it and move on.
Once they were within earshot he simply called out, "Hey there."

The simple calling of words was all it took to get Ofelia to know this person was human and not part of her imagination and her running slowed enough that she was basically walk-trotting the last bit of space between her and the male (or so she hoped she judged right by his voice). She was rather shocked by how winded she was even if she knew she was lucky to still be upright and by the time Ofelia finally reached where this mystery human-figure was she was practically wheezing. Eventually she just stopped in front of him, taking in just a little bit of his face before deciding that oxygen was a bit more important.
"Well. . . howdy." Her own greeting was breathy and full of gasping as she leaned over, her hands curled with fingers barely touching her chest. It was really unfair since Ofelia was actually in amazing shape (as were most all hunters) and to be so unable to breathe made her feel not unlike a chubby kid with asthma. "Gimmie...sec. Breath."

"Hey," he said simply in return watching her as she seemed to double over and breathe heavily. He wasn't sure if he should do anything to help or even if there was anything he could do. Needless to say he just hung back and simply said, "Take your time."
Jude sort of awkwardly stood there for a long moment. It seemed like touching her or rubbing her back to try and soothe her heavy breathing would do more harm than good.
He sort of looked away so he wouldn't worry over it too much.

"Plannin'....on it." Her sarcasm wasn't really needed and Ofelia felt sort of bad afterward for doing it but at least she could breathe enough to snark. Talking, she always remembered, was only possible if air was able to enter the lungs and no matter how much she felt like she was going to die she was still kicking.
So to speak.
After a few more moments of wheezing she finally stood upright, brushing her braid back over her shoulder so it would settle in between her blades. Her cheeks were red and flushed but at least she didn't look like she was dying anymore, same for sounding like it. "Okay, so...tryin' 'gain." A grin broke over Ofelia's face as she exhaled once more into the brisk air. "Howdy."

A quiet 'mhm' was all she got for her snark. It wasn't that she insulted him or hurt his feelings; he was just simply indifferent to that sort of thing.
When she appeared to be in one piece and attempted the greeting again he nodded, "Having a nice workout?" He asked idly. He'd already greeted her twice, no need to make it a third time. He paused a moment when he realized that he could sort of place her face amongst all the other Hunters but couldn't recall her name. "Uhh. I'm Jude Hargrave. Intermediate, Death Division."
There. Proper. Right?

"Ofelia Tanner, Sun Division Inter. . . whatever." She couldn't really get it all out at once, even though she was trying, and Ofelia huffed a bit to catch her breath on the tail end of her introduction. "Jus' call me Ofie, everyone pretty much does." She placed a hand on her chest again, wondering why (somewhere in the back of her mind) that touching her chest helped her breath easier. Weird, weird.
As for the workout? "Ah...guess? Didn' plan on runnin' so fast but Ah couldn' tell if ya were real or not. Haven' really been trustin' mah eye lately." It was honest to admit. "What are ya doin' out here so early? Workin' out too?"

"...O...Ofie," he said furrowing his brow a bit. He wasn't sure he was comfortable with being so familiar with her right away. He reached up and rubbed the side of his neck as he listened to her talk on about what she was doing out here so early.
Jude nodded slightly in understanding but went on to explain himself, "No. I'm not really working out at the moment. I'm just standing out here because I couldn't sleep anymore." He shrugged his shoulders and tilted his head toward the waters for a moment.
He wished suddenly he wasn't so awkward around people sometimes.

"Ahhhh, Ah know that feelin' all too well. Sometimes when Ah feel like Ah jus' wanna lay down an' rest all Ah can do is get up an' move. Ah like ta come here, or go fer a run, but Ah got hurt so s'been a while since Ah could get out." It wasn't that she'd 'gotten' hurt as much as she was still hurt and that this was probably a bad idea since she'd be rocking around and needing to sleep it off in the evening. Or afternoon, or whatever else. Or maybe even a nap right there on the beach depending on how tired she got and if she wanted to take her shirt off right away.
When her breathing was finally down to the level she wanted Ofelia started her basic stretches again though she only wished she could get her arms above her head. This felt silly but at least her muscles were getting warmed. "Yer welcome ta join me on it if ya wanna though, workin' out tends ta make ya sleepy."
If Jude was awkward Ofelia was the complete opposite. She really liked dealing with people.

Jude listened considering the things she'd said, "Sorry about your injuries," his tone was at least sincere as he said it. He was certain that she knew the risks since long before they met and thus didn't need sympathy or pity from him or anyone, honestly. He watched her as she stretched.
"I would hate to get in your way," he replied his body weight shifting from one foot to the other now. Jude wasn't sure what to make of this Hunter at the moment. He appreciated her friendly demeanor towards him but he was also a very cautious individual, very few got close to him automatically.
He hummed a bit, "Are there other things you like to do, other than working out?"

Other things? Well, come to think of it, Ofelia was a girl of very limited hobbies and interests. It was almost sad how many of them happened to be overly domestic and she huffed, pushing those to the sides of her mind. There were plenty of things she liked to do that didn't involve cooking or cleaning, right?
"Thanks fer the apologies, am healin' up pretty well, an Ah dun think ya'd be in mah way. Runnin' wit' a partner, or jus' workin' out wit' one, is safer an' healthier." She responded, pleased that she had a small point going. "Ah mean, if Ah were ta collapse it'd be better that yer here so ya can run an' get help or take me ta help. Whichever was easiest." Ofelia said, stiffly nodding in agreement to her own point.
But if he didn't want to what else was there they could do? Sheepishly she admitted her other hobbies. "Ah like ta cook an' clean? Ah like ta tell fortunes wit' playin' cards, or go on adventures? 'm not really the readin' type or watchin' movies, kinda dun like stayin' idle fer too long." Ofelia listed her ideas off and wondered if this Jude heard anything he liked. It would be a shame for him to leave so soon off into their meeting, the red-head didn't think she was that loud or overbearing.

Jude had to admit that the young woman had a point about there being safety in running together, especially for her. She seemed more than a little banged up. Finally he relented giving a small nod, "Not really dressed for it but let's go for a jog then," he said simply. He waited for her to be ready as she mentioned her other hobbies and interests.
"Never did fortune telling before," there was no interest in his tone as much as it was a thoughtful observation. "I can play couple of games and ... adventures are alright. Goin' through the portals and stuff...?" Jude was trying to keep an open and friendly mind with someone he didn't quite know that well.
He shifted around a little, doing minor stretches now that he apparently gave in to her idea of a jog together. Rown Sorry, sorry for the wait~!

"Oh, Ah like the portals but Ah got kinda torn up in the haunted house so...avoidin' there fer a bit." She shrugged and grinned sheepishly, though there wasn't a chance she'd never go back there again. She wanted revenge, sort of, or at least a chance to explore some more. There was also the possibility that if she went she could see Belladonna again and that was certainly something she wanted to do. The witch was her friend, a very good friend, and she wanted to see her. "What kinds'a games ya play?"
She started stretching again, trying to work out all the kinks that were building up in her legs and lungs, and Ofelia felt pretty good to move. With a nod of her head she started forward, her pace slow but even on the rough terrain.
