[ Pre-Meta Time Period ]
The last of the huntresses had vanished into their dens and the night watch warriors were rousing themselves for their patrols. Two zebras had been brought in and their remains had been picked clean by the pride members. Round bellies made for a contented night sleep but the smell of the kill and the bloodstained ground made it impossible for him to join the others that night. The pride suspected that he was an odd sort. A strange cub that one of the females had found on the border shortly before she had become pregnant with a litter of her own. His adopted brothers, Cain and Abel, had long grown into proud, strong adults and his adopted sister... well few saw much of her any more. She wasn't a peaceful sort and despite his mother's best efforts, she harbored a lot of darkness to her. Of the siblings, she took the spotlight more than the half-maned oddity that seemed to always vanish around suppertime.
Yokheved knew his secret and welcomed the little god into her heart without hesitation. As a mute, she was unable to tell the pride of his true nature, even if she intended to. She understood his inability to handle the sight and smell of blood and would casually brush off any inquiries after her strange son when pressed.
Li's eyes drifted to her den. She would be sound asleep by now and, dutifully as always, Abel stood watch outside. His brother, Cain, was more of a warrior sort and would likely join the night watch in patrolling the border. Li had chosen a nice, private spot atop one of the cliffs surrounding the valley. It stood a good distance from one of the larger waterfalls and served to hide his scent away. It let him keep an eye on the pride while also making it difficult for any mortal to reach him. It was lonely, but it was safe. He couldn't ask for more than that.

Lonely, but not impossible to reach.
Li Wei was about to discover this as a rabbit literally fell from the sky and deposited itself unceremoniously on the ground beside him. It was the most undignified introduction the goddess had managed to make yet. Oh she was used to smashing into trees, smacking face first into cliffs - she was one of the spacey types that didn't let it bother her. Nevertheless the resulting remarks were always the same, every time it happened she would pull herself up onto her hindlegs and rub her rear end.
"Owwwww," she murmured unhappily as she examined her bob tail for damage. Fortunately she was completely unharmed, suffice to say that it was just as well gods were almost indestructible. Satisfied that she was in one piece, she gave her tail another little wiggle and it was only then that she realised she had deposited herself in the company of something much bigger than a normal lion.
...And he looked much different too.
Silence was unusual for this bubbly and social goddess, but she took the time to observe him properly before allowing the realization to dawn on her. He was like her, she'd only met one other deity before (Pacifism) and now she had the chance to meet another - oho wasn't she a lucky one!
"Ermagerd!" she gasped and raised her paw to point at him, "You're one of me!" she announced without a shred of manners. Really she should have introduced herself first but Harvest was just as her domain was, full on and typical bountiful...if she'd been less benevolent she might have been positively terrifying.
"Only with floppier ears." she mused and then giggled. "And back hair."

Epine de Rose OOC: Actually, Li's smaller than an average lion. XD He's... kind of pitiful LOL That was perhaps the most strange thing he'd ever seen. Rabbits simply did not fly. Nor did they appear out of the clouds. At least... he didn't think so. Maybe that's where rabbits came from. It wasn't too far-fetched considering he was a lion with scales and Mut was a god who's wings floated above his back. He had seen some odd things, but nothing so odd as a rabbit from above.
He stood still, his mouth agape, as the rabbit collected herself and checked over for damage. Thankfully, there was none. Not a spot of blood, not a broken bone, else there would be two gods laying in poor shape on that lonely rock.
Her outburst forced him back a pace, nearly jolting him. As she pointed he cracked a smile, then a grin, and then a chuckle until he was outright laughing. "Sorry I... I just... a rabbit from the sky." He took a deep breath and forced his laughter to bubble rather than erupt. His shoulders bobbed from the quiet laughter and his eyes sparkled with a quiet relief. Gods typically appeared in a grand way to him. Flying proudly overhead, roaring like thunder, or riding a wave in his brother's case.
"Oh and your ears aren't floppy?" He pointed out in good humor. "I ....yeah I do have a mantle. Just like Juuku. I'm sorry-" He shook his head. "My name is Li Wei, god of peace. Who are you? I didn't know that we could be bunnies."

Thalion xD Yeah but Ari's a bunny right now so she's going to be dwarfed regardless! (But I get your point) "Course we can be bunnies, we can be anything we like," she pointed out with a dramatic flourish, fluffing up the fur on her cheeks where it it had been flattened in the impact. She was the most undignified goddess ever - fact. Truthfully, she didn't care either, she always marched to her own drum and she had yet to meet anyone who was able to stop that. If she wanted to run around as a rabbit then she would do so...even though she had nearly been devoured a few times by hungry predators.
"And my ears are perfectly pert," she glanced up and raised her paws to double check before confirming that she definitely had sprite ears. It was Ghandi who happened to have the droopy ears, just like his normal ears. They suited him too, but she was more of the bouncy and boisterous type - she'd just trip on anything near her paws!
"Dilly dally, shilly shally," she dismissed his observations and her decision to dispute them before providing her own warm smile. Hopping forward, she then inspected him more closely. So he was a god, she was getting good at this 'reading people' thing that mortals were always going on about. "It's a pleasure to meet you Li Wei," she replied and sat down. "I'm Arimathras and I last time I checked, I looked after the harvests," she grimaced for a few moments.
"Don't I? Yes I think so...I quite like plants, especially the colourful ones..." she trained off, tilted her head to the side and gave a firm nod.
"Yes, it's definitely harvest!"

Epine de Rose Oh sorry about that. XDD And sorry for the wait ;3; Catching up on my backlog! They could be anything they liked? He hadn't known that. Of course, he'd been scrambled up quite badly in his last death. Very little of his memories returned to him and without the presence of a god-parent in his memory he had no idea what was normal for a god. He'd not even visited the god's haven. The idea of it made him a little nervous. Gods, in his limited experience, were massive. His brother and sister were huge. Their children were huge. Mut was huge. Maybe he could change into something tall? It was a strange thought but not entirely unpleasant.
He smiled as she approached and leaned down to sniff her in turn. She didn't smell like he did- but then again most gods had their own scents. In fact...she smelled something like plants. Good plants- the kinds that he enjoyed. Sadly, he wasn't the type for meat. Just the sight of blood was enough to knock him off his paws.
"Harvests?" He tilted his head. "I don't think I know what that is."

"For the longest time, I didn't either..." Arimathras confessed, placing her paws on her hindlegs as she sat down. She had no inclination to reveal her true form just yet and was perfectly comfortable in her current state. It was rare that she got to remain a rabbit for long, especially whenever there were predators around, the fact that Li couldn't handle flesh or blood worked well for her. "And then one day I realised what it meant and what I should be looking out for," she shuffled until her back was facing him and pointed one of her paws to the lands below.
"We have seasons right? They're ruled by particular aspects," she then motioned with her paw to where the herds were. "They make it warm or cold, rainy or dry," she shrugged her shoulders and smiled. "But few of us make absolutely sure that everything grows safely and that it grows on time," she murmured. She knew well enough of the other deities of nature and knew of their purpose, but while they were indifferent to the timing of their arrival or influence...she wasn't.
"Harvest comes at roughly the same time every year, it's when the food is plentiful and ripe. If it's there, the herds come and they provide food for the other animals," she smiled and pointed at herself. "I take care of that happy and plentiful time," she finished.
Her face did fall after a few moments though.
"...Although there are some gods who dislike my influence and will often sabotage the crops," she confessed.
