Super Sailor Tsui had many enemies; the Negaverse, the Dark Mirror Court... math and anything to do with science or school. But her biggest enemy was her own pride, and perhaps her own battle-hungry nature. Despite her frustrations with the Dark Mirror Court and the impossible task she had signed up for, Tsui figured that she couldn't spend too much time wallowing in what she figured was self-doubt. Something she hardly felt, and she didn't like that feeling. So her goal was to simply move on with her life, do her Senshi duties, despite everything and keep the streets safe. Perhaps she was just overreacting to what Benitoite had said about the youma, or maybe Remarque had just caught her on a bad day? She was determined to trudge on. Trudge on, right into a bad situation. She had sensed the approaching youma but it was too late for her to properly prepare for it. It was small, but quick, with multiple legs and a fuzzy butt. Just her luck that she'd be attacked by what she suspected was a spider youma... she may have loved animals, but she was no fan of spiders or other arachnids. And this youma was determined to make her hate them all the more, as it shifted around the darkness and spewed what she figured was some kind of webbing at her. "Gah! Why don't you come down here and fight me? If you were human at one point, you were a coward!" Tsui shouted to the creature, dodging its spit and trying to think of a way to bring it down to her level. Why did she think it was possible to roam dark alleys and NOT be attacked?

It seemed like Chaonis had a knack for finding spider youma. He was not particularly a fan of them, but he was not a girl and thus not terrified of them. Even when they were large and certainly warranted freaking out over.
But he didn't fear youma.
True enough, he had been badly injured recently, and was still healing from that. It was not really a good idea for him to be out and about, certainly not powered up, but he was not going to risk his dad catching him at home, nursing a stab wound.
So he did the clever thing, and went out where he could just be injured again. Because why smart?
"I don't think it cares about your opinions," Chaonis said, hopping down from a roof. He was more careful than normal, and even landing revealed him favoring his side. He hide it quickly though, as if he had just landed awkwardly, folding his arms over his chest and grinning at her unhelpfully.
"Need a broom? Maybe a really big tissue? Or are you one of those catch and release sissies?"

Tsui wasn't sure what startled her more: the fact that she almost didn't dodge the white, gooey stuff that the youma spat at her, or the sudden appearance of Chaonis. Had she not been so focused on not becoming the youma's next meal, she MIGHT have recognized the Senshi from the meeting and then the ambush that followed immediately after that. No, she hadn't talked with him, but she did recognize him... or she thought she did. "Catch and release? No... I don't want something as ugly as that coming back to bite me in the a**..." Tsui said with a sneer, not really directing it towards him but rather the youma that continued to scuttle just beyond her reach. If its goal was to piss Tsui off, then mission accomplished. "What I need is for that coward come down here and fight me like a man! Or woman... or whatever the hell it is!" Yes, Tsui was mad. Tsui was frustrated. She needed to blow off some steam, and this damn spider was mocking her. Would this Senshi do the same?!

Chaonis was in a worse state than he was letting on. He had just been in a very difficult battle not too long ago, that very nearly killed him. Instead of being sensible and letting himself heal, he was getting into more trouble.
Because that was how he knew how to function.
"So get it down!"
He laughed, leaning on a nearby wall and watching the youma as it scuttled around just out of reach. He did not technically have a long range attack but, when he thought about it, he was not technically fighting it so it hardly mattered to him.
"You can't find anything to throw at it or something? Man. Girls always just shut off their brains when scary bugs come along." He shook his head teasingly, but mostly he was just goading her so he could see what she could do. While others motivated with kindness and support, Chaonis pushed others by pissing them off.
He felt it got the better result, and brought out more power. And it was just a lot more fun.

Suddenly Tsui realized why Chaonis was a Senshi that she seldom saw or talked to have the meeting... he was a real jerk. Of course, her pride always got the better of her, and there were few things that pissed her off more than someone, especially a guy, trying to put her gender on the table as a flaw. What does being a woman have to do with not liking spiders? She knew PLENTY of boys that hated spiders... okay, that was a bit of a lie, given that she didn't have the chance to know that many guys (thanks to St. Mag), but youma spiders was something that she thought many, male or female, would agree was a bad thing. She snapped at him, too angry and frustrated by this trolling youma to notice his injury or how he held himself; for all she knew, he could have been mocking her! "How about I lift YOU up and throw YOU up there? Don't think I wouldn't!" Physically, she probably couldn't, but that's how mad she was right now. She did consider his advise and looked around for something to hurl at the spider, and she grabbed the lid off a trash can and was prepared to Captain America that youma. How hard could it be to hit a youma by tossing a trash can lid like a frisbee? Extremely hard, as reality would have it, as she missed completely, but the sound of the flimsy metal lid slamming against the wall was enough to cause the youma to lose its grip on the wall and come falling down. The moment it hit the pavement, it gave a shriek, both heads from each end spewing the white, gooey substance, and it charged towards the closest one to it, straight for Chaonis.

It did not help that Chaonis had recently encountered a youma spider that was attacking a female knight, and she had not been a fan of them. So it made sense, in his head, to just assume what everyone did and say that no girl liked spiders.
Clearly.
Because it was fine to make sweeping generalizations based on one encounter with a powered up female and giant demon spider. The no one would like, regardless of what bug or animal type it was, since they were created solely to kill and be evil.
But hey.
"If you think you could, by all means, I'd love to see you try," he grinned at her and wondered for a moment if her powered up state would make her that much stronger. But he doubted she'd be able to throw him that far, straight up into the air. He started laughing, loudly, when she missed the youma with her first frisbee attempt, holding his side and using the laughter as cover.
"Trying to knock the wall down from under it or something? Maybe you should aim for the spider, cupcake. Oh." he saw that the youma had fallen and tilted his head. "At least you guys are on the same playing field, mentally I mean."
He didn't have much time for more teasing though, since it hit the ground and was now coming for him. He cursed and moved to defend himself, but pain shot through his side and his leg on that side buckled. He almost went down before the web got anywhere near him, and was easily caught up in it when it did reach him.
"Damn it! You pissed it off!" He yelled, like it hadn't been his idea.

No, things DEFINITELY weren't going according to plan, but since when did Tsui ever have a plan? At least not one that worked... or didn't resort to her doing a power charge and hoping for the best? She gave a shout and charged at the youma now that it was down at her level, and she drove a foot right into the giant, oversized abdomen of it when it got close to Chaonis. "Well... he made me mad first!" It gave a shriek and bounced along the ground, and Tsui was torn between helping the other Senshi up and continuing after it before it had the chance to scuttle up the wall again. Like hell she wanted to fish it down again! Maybe she'd make it so mad that it'd stay down to fight, which meant that she needed to get Chaonis back to his feet, and quick! "Come on, get up already! For someone that talked big, you sure are taking your sweet time getting back up!" Tsui said, even as she tore at the webbing that was collected around his feet. Still, she hadn't noticed his injury, but it was because her eyes were on the youma that was turning around and scuttling towards them. "Got a plan? I'm not one for planning..."

"I'm up, I'm up," Chaonis grunted, while getting to his feet. He supposed he had to help now: it was a matter of pride. The youma had insulted him, in its brainless way, and he could not suffer that.
To him, youma were the lowest of the low. They were walking punching bags, and they were not threatening to him in the slightest. So whenever one managed to get one up on him, he got mad. Very mad.
And he didn't like that someone was there to witness it, either.
Grimacing in pain, he tried to hide his injury from her, kicking his feet when he was free of the web.
"Yeah, I got a plan," he growled, looking at the youma as it made the mistake of coming their way. He charged it, pulling his fist back and lurching forward, as if he were swinging a hammer over his head. "punch it!"

It was such a simple maneuver, one that Tsui would have thought of in her basic stage, and yet, she couldn't deny the fact that it was super effective against the enemy. Perhaps the spider youma was just as surprised as she was, as it hadn't scuttled away quick enough to avoid Chaonis' blow. It gave a pain shriek and flopped backwards with its scrawny legs, leaving an opening for Tsui or Chaonis to attack. "Oh, gee... why didn't I think of that?" Despite her sarcasm, Tsui wasn't going to miss that opportunity Chaonis opened for her. She ran forward and gave that disgusting, trolling spider more than a punch. White aura formed in her arms and she lunged forward at the enemy, crashing the white claws against the youma's face and slamming it back. "Striking Tiger Flurry!" It hit the ground and bounced, its body quivering but unable to move thanks to the stunning effect. It wouldn't be stunned for long, and Tsui shouted to the Eternal Senshi, "You want to do it in, or should I get the pleasure?"

Chaonis was a guy that subscribed to simple. He almost always fought with the power of his bare fists, and usually that was enough for him. He was physically strong, and he knew his way around a brawl, so that all helped.
And his confidence. That certainly got him through.
"I dunno," he replied, as if she had been serious in her question. After all, she was the one that hadn't done it yet. TRUE the youma had been up on the wall and he could not really blame her for not being able to punch something a few stories up.
Or he could. He totally could.
"I got it!" He yelled, grinning ear to ear. At least it was fun. He did not often run into senshi who actually knew how to fight or anything else of what they were doing. He leaped at the youma and decided to slam down on it with both of his feet. It was like stepping on a ketchup packet, except with dust.
"Ahahah! Did you see that?! That was awesome!"

Tsui wasn't sure if he was fishing for praise or if it was a rhetorical question, but she wasn't going to deny that watching the Eternal curb stomp the spider youma was rather impressive. She would have done it herself, of course, though she felt winded after doing her attack- he had not been there to see it, but she had actually used her attack once before he arrived and missed, horribly, when the damned thing scuttled higher up the wall. She played it off with a scoff, however, trying to return the snark that he had thrown at her earlier. "That was cool, I guess. I did weaken it for you, though!" Despite her snark, she was grateful for his assistance, and she let it be known with a beaming smile and a rough slap on the back, not knowing of his injury or how much strength she put into that motion. "Thanks for the assist, though! You've definitely earned your buttwings for a reason!"

It was safe to assume that Chaonis was always fishing for attention, even when he wasn't. Right now, he was just trying to keep his mind off the searing pain in his side by focusing on the sweet youma explosion he had just witnessed.
He grinned at her when she teased him, debating telling her that weakening a youma and not dusting it was just sad. But he thought better of it, despite himself, because it had been fun and she had been into the fight. It was rarer, these days, to find brawlers and real fighters, and he might as well be 'nice' to the few he did find.
His version of nice, anyway.
He couldn't stop the grunt of pain and involuntary wince that followed her playful slap on his back, grimacing but shaking it off as fast as he could.
"No problem, youma dusting is one of my hobbies," he grinned, clearing his throat.

Tsui was never really that observant, or perhaps Chaonis hid his discomfort well enough that Tsui was none the wiser. Chaonis may have started out a bit trollish, but she couldn't help but admire his strength and tenacity in battle. FINALLY, a Senshi that was like herself and enjoyed the thrill of the fight. Killing, not so much, and that kind of soured some of her good mood for the time being. "Say... you've been at this game for awhile now, right? Tell me, what do you think of the youma?" She motioned to the remains, giving some of the dust a kick and spreading it out. "Obviously you like to dust them, but did you ever feel guilty about it afterwards?" Tsui straightened up and immediately tried to hide any of her hesitation within her, as though the thought of appearing weak or timid in front of Chaonis was more insulting than begging for help in the first place. "Not that -I- ever felt such things, but... hypothetically speaking, what if a Negaverse officer told you that youma were once humans that MIGHT have been transformed into monsters because of a certain Queen... that shall remain nameless. How would that make you feel?"

"Youma are punching bags. Why else are they filled with dust? They're just monsters that eat people, or whatever, but they're good for practice. Fun to hit."
They were something that could be destroyed without consequence. He could go all out on them, not hold back a shred, because he did not have to worry about killing them. If they were people, once upon a time, as he had heard he was not bothered by it. They were clearly already dead.
They were basically zombies. It was a senshi's job to put them down: they were all zombie hunters, essentially.
"I don't feel guilty," he explained, "because there is nothing to feel guilty about. They're stupid monsters, and if they were humans once they're not going to be them ever again. You think it's nice, running around, eating people, starseed ruined by chaos? Hell, we're doing the right thing, putting them down. If you want to look at it that way. For me, it's just a fight that just happens to end in a cloud of dust. You either do that, or you let them kill people that are still people and not monsters. Get it?"
So he was not the most articulate on a good day, he felt he was getting his point out well enough. Probably.

It was a very simple outlook on the matter, one that Tsui could have figured out for herself... had she not allowed the more complex and troubling thoughts to simply take over and fester. She had hoped that Chaonis would have enlightened her on the matter, and yet, at first, his words seemed... too simple. If the answer was really that simple, then why did it seem like it was such an impossible task ahead of her? Had she been over-thinking the whole thing to the point that the answer was under her nose the whole time? How silly had she looked, then, when she hit that moment of 'revelation' and ran away from Remarque that night? How many had gotten hurt because of her sudden restraint? It was all just too much... and yet, Tsui did feel enlightened. What Chaonis said rung some truth. They were human, once. They were no longer human, and they did hurt, they did kill... she had seen it with her own two eyes the brutality of a youma. The matter of whether or not they could be saved wasn't meant to distract from the fact that they were going to hurt people, humans, innocents and those fighting alike. Chaonis' solution was simple, and Tsui liked simplicity. Her shoulders grew lax and her chest didn't feel so heavy anymore, and the laugh that escaped her lips were light, almost desperate. She tried to keep up her image, though, though one could hear the relief that swept over her at that moment, thanks to Chaonis. "Oh, I get it! I agree! I was just... speaking in hypothetical terms, that's all! Just testing you..." She was relieved, but she was still a lady of pride... it was time for her to start repairing that gaping hole that was left there, if she was going to be of any use to anyone. Her friends needed her to be strong, not this simpering, confused little kitten anymore! The fact that she carried on this prattle for so long disgraced her, and she was eager to get it put behind her, and quick! "So, is this the part where we say our good byes, or are you eager to go on the hunt again?"
