Nox sighed as she waited for her trail rations to cook. She didn't normally travel this far from her cabin and she was getting down to the kinda gross stuff. condensed torchic broth, dehydrated miltank meat, travel biscuits and canned pecha berries was on the menu tonight. At least she found some edible plants and roots she could add to the pot. Maybe it'll taste good?
As she took care of supper, her pokemon were left to their own devices.
Pillan and Electra kept close to camp, both a bit weary of the unfamiliar surroundings. Their wanderings in the Howling Forest hadn't made adventurers out of them.
Square on the other hand was, as usual, interested in everything.
"So many new smells! Look at these blades of grass! Wow I do not recognize this tree! This is the best!" he yapped to himself as he wandered farther from camp.
"Don't get lost, Square!" Nox called as he disappeared into the bushes. Eh, he'd be fine.

Stormcaller dozed in a depression in the grass. The warm sunlight seeped into his stiff muscles. Nowhere he'd wandered so far had been without annoying residents bent on keeping him out of their turf, but there was always more world to check.

The large Jolteon snuffled along the ground. There was another new scent! What could it be? Where does it lead? Ooh ooh he just had to find out!
He followed the mystery scent til it lead to... a pokemon! Oh joy someone to play with!
"Oh wow! Hi hello how are you I smelled you and now I found you do you want to play?" He yipped excitedly at the poochyena, his rear waggeling with happiness as he dance around him.
"Hey are you awake? Please wake up you are very cool lets play!" he whined a bit and pawed at Stormcaller.

Stormcaller growled and uncurled enough to look up at the huge yellow thing. "What? No. Yes... No. " The poochyena blinked, processing, "Well, yes, I am very cool. He glared up at the dancing Pokemon, unsure what to make of him.

He yelped as he was bowled down under a tower of limbs and spikes of fur. He tried to push the other Pokemon off but his paws barely reached it's underside. With a growl Stormcaller bit at an available leg. He wasn't sure which it was, but it didn't matter.

Square hopped out of reach before the small canine's teeth could connect.
"Wow yes lets have fun!" he yapped and pounced on him again, this time rolling over and bunny-kicking him a few times.

Storm wheezed as each kick connected. He tried to scrabble out of Square's grip, kicking up leaf litter and dirt. "Ow, ow, No- Not fun!"

The jolteon rolled away as the debris hit him in the face. He sneezed before regaining his enthusiasm and barking at the poochyena.
"Come on it's fun if you pounce! Jumping is fun! Jump! jump!" he yipped, dancing around and nipping at Storm's heels with static charged teeth.

His hackles rose in aggravation even more, making him appear a great deal bigger but not doing him any good elevation wise. If he jumped he probably still couldn't reach this big moose's vitals. Anyway he wasn't going to jump whenever Clifford the big yellow buneary said to! He snarled and snapped at the other Pokemon.

As Storm's attack went wide, Square yapped with mirth.
"You missed! You have to be faster than that to catch me!"
He descended into a play bow, his backside waggling with excitement. From said excited rear flew sharp pins, aimed at the poochyena.

The attack stung like nettles applied directly to the forehead. Storm staggered, panting. "Take this you undersized Stantler!" he growled, twisting the the side and scooping pawfulls of dirt at the taunting spikebutt.
