After receiving H's note about a small task, Dwight became a creature full jittery, nervous motion, spinning in his chair, pausing for a pencil drum solo, spinning, then a little gangnam style because people kept looking at him expectantly whenever it came up and he felt like he was disappointing his fellow hunters by not busting out some sweet moves. This kept him occupied for about 10 minutes worth of procrastination, but at that point he was either going to have to do this thing or have a breakdown complete with ugly sobbing and drunk texting Mark again about how their bromance has changed since the promotion, but he's not ready for it to be over. Both options left something to be desired. Fortunately that's what trainees were for, because when in doubt? Pawn undesirable tasks off on those who can't refuse. Besides, they'd have ignorance on their side, and honestly? Dwight would give a lot for a little bit of that right now. He knew what this was leading to, and as far as he was concerned, he'd already done more than enough. Shaking off a pensive frown, the Life hunter scrolled a couple times and picked a G at random. GrnGriff Text from Dwight:Boss wants you in his office, better hurry! Pausing he picked another because a trainee plus and intermediate equaled almost a full hunter, right? Also Sherry was pretty cute and with the doctor there just weren't enough rape whistles in the world to make him seem less... himself.Drifter Jet Enduro Text from Dwight:Doc H wants to see you, super important!

Otto's lip curled as he stared at a text message from Dwight. H? Ew. All of the ew and the DNW. The teen groaned and rolled off the common room couch, dragging his sleep deprived a** to the Doctor's office. Important? Worrying. The teen knocked once before pushing the door open. "What?"

A text from Dwight summoning her to the division head's office? Sherry was both curious and a little worried. Because let's be honest, text messages from above rarely brought sunshine and kittens. She had, however, learned to expect everything, or at least to walk into certain situations with no expectations. Like right now. What could they need her for? She had no idea. So, it was with a question on her face that Sherry walked into that room. "You rang?"

Looking up from a fairly large stack of paperwork, the doctor gave Otto a quizzical smile, "Ah, no bodies for me this time, Mr. Graves? Caelius must still be out." And then Sherry came in and the smile grew. Making a soft, contemplative sound, the doctor looked at his phone and yes, there was a text from his underling, declaring himself unable to do just this one, small task. All for the best, really, these two would much better suit is purpose. He crooked a finger for Sherry to come closer, "You're looking quite well, my dear. I just have a small favour to ask of you and the young turk." The doctor withdrew a large, white envelope from his desk and held it out to her. "I need you two to deliver a message. In the main building there's a large set of doors right in the center where the council has gathered, can you see that this reaches them, hm?"

As much fun as dragging a monster's corpse through Deus had been back in the day, somehow it had almost slipped Otto's mind. The corner of Otto's mouth twitched in lieu of an attempted smile; likely a wry one. A very very wry one. News of Caelius's survival had not reached Otto's ears yet. Perhaps it had, but he chose to pretend for a little longer. Though it would not have been surprising, nor the first time he came back from the so called dead. They'd never be so lucky, it seemed. So a favour was needed? Seeing as the god doctor had quite the stack of work to do, it made sense to call on others to get the job done. Why did he need two people to deliver a message? Why them specifically? He wasn't sure if it was a question he should even bother asking. The girl with him he wasn't even sure h'd talked to before. Then again, that wasn't hard. Otto wasn't exactly a social butterfly. Somehow though, this all seemed.. too easy. Nothing was ever without a twist. The teen turned his gaze to Sherry. The envelope had been handed to her, after all. As soon as she took it, Otto made a sarcastic flourish of his arms toward the door that clearly said "after you", before making any sign of moving himself.

"Um, thank you," Sherry replied instinctively to the doctor's comment as she stepped closer. Taking the envelope, she nodded. "Alright, we can do that." It seemed simple enough. She cast a glance to the intermediate in the room, who was gesturing for them to get on with it. Two of them, to deliver one message to the center building? She looked back to the envelope in her hands. It wasn't like it needed two people to carry it. Well. This was either going to be really easy or.... Nope. Don't think about it, she told herself. It wasn't like she'd be able to back out of it anyway. She nodded to the doctor again, then turned to the intermediate trainee. She's seen him once or twice in mission briefings and such, but she didn't think they'd actually met. Well, maybe they'd have time for a chat on the walk. "Let's go then," she smiled, and headed out the door.

The doctor gave them a friendly little wave as they left, his smile entirely too pleasant.

Otto grimaced as he took one last look at the doctor, an obvious shudder radiating off his shoulders. Once out of the room, he set his sights forward and sighed heavily. "It don't take much brain power to tell we been screwed." Otto grouched, shoving his hands into his pockets. Honestly, they did have a choice here. They could easily ditch the envelope off on someone else ( Dwight), or "lose it" and blame someone else ( Dwight), or slip it under the door and hope for the best. Why two trainees were needed for this just oozed the idea of sacrificial lambs. So sure, they had a choice to bail out, but that would somehow not sit well with Otto. Part of him really wanted to know why it had to be them, and what lay behind the mysterious doors of the center building.

"No," Sherry sighed in response as they walked, "it doesn't." The last task handed to her by a division head had turned into something of a mini-nightmare, and this just reeked of the same. She'd heard stories, for crying out loud. Stories of unsuspecting trainees sent off into the wilds to find lord knows what. Except they weren't being sent off into the wilds, they were just being sent to the main building, which somehow made everything worse in Sherry's mind. "Have you even seen what's on the other side of those doors?" Heck, Sherry wasn't even sure if she'd seen those doors.

The main building was quiet, emptied by both their recent losses and the constant repairs needed elsewhere on the island. The large doors of the council chamber towered above them, dwarfing the rest of the main floor. They're an imposing sight, even unguarded as they were.

"No.. Ain't met the council neither.. 'cept saw a dead one once." He knew very little about them. As far as he knew, they were the ones who called the shots? Like the big wigs of an organization. He also knew Caelius had some sort of vendetta against them. "Oh well. Guess we'll find out.." Hopefully to live to tell about it too. The teen gripped the tablet of his dead weapon in his pocket momentarily. It was only slightly more scary going into unknown situation without a Fear shield. The council.. were they even hunters? Upon arrival, Otto cranked his neck back to take in the mighty size of the doors that awaited them. It was quiet in these halls. Bad sign. "Who the ******** needs doors that big... good lord..." With an indignant huff, the southern boy moved to open one.

"I suppose so," Sherry nodded. The council was intriguing, she'd heard a little about them, but she knew nothing beyond that. She looked back at the envelope in her hand. Seriously. This was either the easiest task ever, or something bad was waiting for them. And after the past few days, Sherry just plain expected the worst. She sighed, trying not to think to hard about it for the rest of the walk. When they did get there, Sherry found the quiet of the council building was a bit unsettling, and that was only made worse by the doors looming over them. "No one needs doors that big." Seriously. Were they meant to strike fear into the hearts of trainees? They might have been doing a decent job of that, Sherry surmised. "Do you think we need to knock?" she asked, even as the other trainee went to open one door. "Though, I suppose things don't seem to busy around here," she shrugged and moved in to see about getting these monster sized doors open.

The doors swung partially open and then stopped, blocked by something heavy. That few feet allowed the smell to escape easily though, thick and overwhelming and very familiar to any hunter that had been out on the field long enough. The doors created a pristine frame, a window into a slaughterhouse. A dozen bodies slumped in chairs and against walls, their dried and flaking blood liberally coating the once white walls, floor, and iconic round table. There was a soft, slithering thump near the floor as a limp hand slipped to the floor and landed near Sherry's foot, the corpse to which it belonged being jarred out of place by their intrusion.

That smell... Otto nearly gagged, covering his mouth and nose with both hands. The scene that was painted before them was ghastly. Of all things he'd expected to find past these doors, this was something he'd not expected at all. "s**t.." Otto tsked behind his hands. "So much for meeting the council... alive.."Otto took a step back, the sight and smell a bit too much, even for him. "We should go back and tell H.." Why had no one noticed these guys had been dead so long?

The smell. It was familiar, and wholly overpowering. "Oh, God," Sherry gasped, trying not to breathe in more than necessary and swallow the bile rising in her throat. She knew what she'd see even as her gazed fell upon the room. Death. Bloody, gruesome death. Even with the warning the smell gave, she wasn't quite prepared for the sight that greeted them. The blood was everywhere. It would never surprise her just how much blood a body produce, let alone several. The sound near her feet drew her eyes down. One very dead hand lay there, it's owner blocked from view. The color drained from Sherry's face and her foot instinctively moved back. "Oh, gross. Just--" She covered her nose with one hand and stepped away from the room, the envelope practically forgotten about in her other hand. Sherry hated bodies. Why did they have to be the ones to open those damn doors? At least the blood is dry, she thought to herself. Warm, squishy bodies were the worst. Though, there was a decent chance the bodies were still squishy. She looked to her companion. "Right, definitely go back and report this." She agreed wholeheartedly. Moving away from the room seemed like a lovely idea. Ugh. "How did we end up being the lucky ones today?"
