The day was fresh as Zevach stood in his long used training grounds, as he so fondly called it. The crisp autumn air hung as his skin felt a little nipped at the temperature. He'd been here for three days now, and while not uncommon for him to remain for so long...he wasn't feeling himself today. Today, he looked around for what seemed to be the hundredth time, lost in his own thoughts which happened more and more as of late.
The proud...perhaps too proud stallion would never admit it to anyone...but he was getting tired.
Tired and old.
His body remained youthful as ever as he was diligent to take the utmost care of it; but his eyes didn't shine with the same ruby sparkle it had before, and his mind was much more calm. He was starting to see the sands of time in his parents and their age...and was starting to see it in himself now. He wondered about his children, and about the family he hadn't seen in a while. Even now, when the small thoughts of Marius drifted to his mind...he didn't feel anger...he felt slivers of remorse.
However that was not here nor there; as he let out a sigh so his breath drifted in the morning air. Perhaps...it was time to head back to Zarimunia, he was sure he may be missed by now. He already missed her like crazy, and even though he saw much of his mate since he was never willing to leave her for more than half a week at most...he realized over their time together just how stupid he had been. How blind to a love he'd searched for so long...only to find it under his nose. Literally.
"Well, no use in staying, might as well see how the brat is doing." He grinned his trademark grin, knowing he might have been nipped if she heard him calling her such.

Wings outstretched, Zarimuna came in for a landing. The cold crisp air of fall only made her heart race more and caused her blood to pump through her more quickly, there was nothing like a good flight high in the sky, watching over the lands she called home, the lands she had bore and raised her foals with the aid of her beloved Zevach, Gramps, she thought fondly with a smirk on her lips as she landed with ease and grace.
Her own parents had found her basket and raised her as their own. But she could see the gray taking hold of her mothers mane, the years wearing them both down and yet her mothers eyes seemed to hold the same luster they had the first time Zari had seen them.
Zari could only hope to have such spirit in her years, those years were catching up with the mare who was just shy of her prime, younger than her mate, who made it up in spirit and spunk, Zari couldnt wish for anything more.
Glancing around she noticed he hadnt returned yet, her heart sank a little. Her warrior, always training and keeping his ways, she didnt regret a minute of their time together nor the fact that her heart had fallen for a warrior who kept to his path. Oh no, it only made her love him that much more..

Luckily for Zevach as he turned and headed away from his grounds, that the area was not too far away from where he and Zari had called home amongst the foothills. He wondered if she would be off flying, and maybe if he was lucky he would be able to catch a glimpse of her. Although he felt a little selfish that she had to stay on the ground since he couldn't fly, he could watch her in glimpse of her in her natural element...it was almost like she was dancing up there in the clouds.
It didn't take long with the trot that he was in despite his fatigue to return to familiar home scape, trees and foliage passed and already he could inhale her sweet scent.
Zari....his beloved.
Coming out of the tree line and into the clearing he spotted her, and immediately his smile curled on his lips. Tossing his mane back he let out a small knicker to gain her attention. "I hope I haven't kept you waiting too long. You seem a little lost in your youthful years..." He teased, all in good humor. Trotting forward he neared her side, pressing his nose against her cheek. "What have you been up to since I was gone?"
Perhaps she had gone to see her parents, or just was out. He knew it wasn't like her to remain at their home, even she needed to stretch her wings just like he. Although he was fortunate not to have gained his father's nomadic blood in the sense he was gone on long, long journeys.
In a quieter voice, he moved his nose to her ear and said almost to ensure no one else would hear. "I missed you."

The sound of hoof beats caught her attention, ears perked and eyes on alert as she scanned the treeline, she wasnt the warrior her mate was, but she wasnt going to give her home up to anyone either.
But as soon as she laid eyes on her mate, her body twitched as she anticipated his touch, her body shivering as his nose presses against her cheek, her eyes close as her body relaxes. "Mmm simply patrolling the skies." She said with a hushed whisper, she couldnt stand around idly while he was out training, doing his things.
She too did whatever she needed to protect what was theirs.
She rubbed her muzzle against his cheek, taking in his musky scent and smiled softly. "I do believe I've missed you a great deal more." She tugged at one of his braids.

So he did miss her flying, drat, oh well....there was always next time. Zevach felt his own heart pick up in a slight race as it did whenever she was near. He hated to think the giddy foal in him was still excited at the mere glimpse of his mate...but in the same breath, his heart nearly broke when they were apart. It was really a lose lose for the stallion.
At the small display of affection he shifted his body to be up against her, nosing her muzzle back before his brows furrowed in mock annoyance. "I'll fight you to find out..." He mused on a husky tone, bumping his hip with her own with a chuckle under his breath. "And careful...you're going to wreak'em! Although its a miracle they haven't been wreaked sooner.."
Must have been some strong braids those humans had weaved to match up to Zari.
Looking around to their home, he couldn't help but to smile in the fact she was protecting it. "Quite empty now a days, isn't it..." He spoke before he really thought about it, before looking over to his beloved mate. "Well, not right now it isn't anyways." Besides, it was less noisy now that their children had grown and left.

Her eyes narrowed on him, as a spark flashed in her orbs as she grinned at him, tossing back her long mane. "Oh I'll take you on gramps.." She teased as she gave one braid a hearty tug.
She paused for a moment, and eyed the braids she'd been tugging, among other things for so long now. "They look like they did the first day I met you." She said with a wink as she bumped her hip into his.
"We could always make it noisy again.." She said in lowered tones before she trotted abit away from him, her wing tips sliding against his side.

"Gwah!" Zevach groaned, feeling the ache on his neck where one of the braids had been so viciously tugged. "Man...years later and that still stings!" One would think he would have been used to it, but on the contrary it hurt like the first day she'd tugged his hair. What times those had been, the only little filly who'd thrived with his constant arrogance and mighty behavior when they were in fact kids.
"Seems like forever ago.." He murmured, in a mostly pleased tone. They'd come a long way since then.
His brows raised as she made that comment, blinking twice as it took a moment to really register. Shuddering at the gentle touch of her wings he cast her a glance, pondering it seriously for a moment in his mind. "Like I need a new batch of Mini you'd to terrorize my hair..." He played, ready to charge her with a n** to the flank when his ears perked; head snapping skyward as some bird had been scared from the trees not too far away. Immediately he went serious, turning with a snort to gaze at the treeline...was it friend? Foe? He didn't know anything stupid enough to head here with him around...but Zevach wouldn't hesitate to make it known not to pick a fight with him.
"Zari...stay alert. We have company." He said, his warrior spirit coming out as his head was held high, his hoof stomping against the ground as he prepared for the unknown.

Everything turned serious, her heart picked up pace in her chest, but not out of fear, but out of admiration for her mate.
She eyed him now, head held proudly, ears pricked and alert as he scanned around trying to catch sight of who it might be in the bush. His body didnt seem to have been touched by time at all, she could have swoon at the sight of him, it still took her breath away.
Though, for a moment she glanced around. She wasnt worried about anything coming to harm them, but hoped for one of their children to visit, she lifted her nose and scented the air, it smelled familiar.
"Zevach...smell.." She said softly as she brushed against his side.

Flicking his ears and soon after his head back to his mate, he lifted a curious brow before he too lifted his nose to the air and sniffed deeply. It was faint, but growing stronger and there was no mistaking it.
"Well i'll be damned..." He spoke, dropping his guard as his shoulders visibly relaxed and he leaned into her touch. It had been a while that he almost forgot what she'd smelt like, although once it reached his nose it all came back immediately. "We speak of children and get blessed by the clip clop of adult children hooves. Think if I speak of a sparring partner one will run through the bushes?" He teased, using his tail to flick the back of her hind legs.
Stepping into the grove, Zaiella allowed her own ears to flatten against her skull, pushing the brush and shifted her wings till they were more comfortable for her. Looking around she didn't see anyone till she saw the familiar forms of her parents and allowed herself to draw a big smile on her lips. It had been some time, and boy was she happy to see them.
"Hello Momma, Daddy..." Zaiella spoke calmly, even though she was well into her adult years...it seemed they hadn't aged a bit. Trotting out into the open and closer to the pair she tossed her mane and chuckled softly. "Its so good to see you both...I hope you have been well!"

"Oh Zaiella!" Zari exclaimed at the sight of her only winged child, she adored her children to pieces, they along side their father were what Zari treasured the most. She eyed her mate for a moment though, "If a sparring partner appears...HE better be ready to deal with me for keeping you away to long." She said with a playful snort, as she made her way over towards her daughter.
She had grown up so much, it caused Zari to almost sniffle at the sight of her adult children, she could still see them running around as foals, she nuzzled her daughter in greeting. "Oh how Ive missed you so much."

"Alright alright...I wouldn't want to wish that on anyone.." Zevach snorted with a trademark grin, stepping up to their daughter as he beamed at how beautiful she was; as was their other daughter. His son...well, he hadn't seen him in ages - but he assumed he had his dashing looks.
Looking to the pair as his heart swelled he remembered once again how blessed he was in his age to have such wonderful souls in his life. Zari, the hot headed filly who turned into the perfect mare that was in front of his face the entire time. Zaiella, his sweet child who cared so much he was sure her heart would burst from being so full with love. Of course Zindayia, the near female incarnate after his own heart and passion to be the best warrior around. Stepping forth he too nuzzled his daughter's cheek with his nose as he listened rather politely to his mate and her reunite.
Feeling her own emotions swell up inside the younger mare felt a few stray tears brim in the corner of her eyes. Leaning into her mother and her nuzzles she wrapped her neck around her's and rested it against the start of her back. "Momma...I've missed you too!" It was true, in the big vast world with nearly no one at all to call a friend all she had in the end was her family. "You too Daddy.." She smiled as Zevach stepped closer and even nuzzled her cheek.
"I'm back for a little bit...thought I would come visit since I was getting homesick.." She admitted freely, moving back to better posture so she could look both of her parents directly. "Thought I would go visit everyone else too, after though. How has it been? How's Zigmund and Zindayia doing as well? I haven't had the chance to run into either of them as well..."
