Carrie looked around to make sure everything in her room was neat and tidy. Toys put away... check. Table neat and tidy... check. All her clothes back in her closet... check.

The 8-year old planted her hands on her hips and gave a satisfied nod. Yup, everything was put away, nice and neat. Nothing to trip on, or make sounds in the night. She was READY.

Her finger hovered over the light switch as she did one last quick glance around the room.That dumb Jimmy... monsters weren't real, right? She didn't need to be scared. Besides, Tutu would protect her! She would prove to him that she wasn't a chicken!

Ok, she was ready.
3... 2... 1...

She flicked the switch and quickly dove into bed, hugging her pillows tightly.

[Lights are off!]

Victoria had decided to follow the horrible person reaper, staying a distance behind him, and simply phasing through the wall of the house he chose to enter. However, once inside, she realized that she had no idea where he was hiding. Pouting, she puffed out her cheeks, took one look around, and darted behind the curtains.

... Oh right, she was supposed to scare the scareling here.

Grabbing hold of the curtain, she begun to rustle it, creating some noise.

It seemed that the bird hadn't been knocked over like Shun had planned. Well. He could try that again in a bit. Above, he could hear a little bit of rustling, though it was hard to tell if the child had just stirred or if she was awake. He couldn't see through the bed after all. There was also the rustling of the curtains nearby. He hadn't seen that Victoria had followed him here, but it was apparent that someone had.

Either that or he missed the windows being open.

The reaper couldn't really see from where he was.

In any case, this time around, he reached out from under the bed to grab a hold of some of the covers before giving them a yank.

Last he saw, there were no pets that could do this. That should grab her attention.

There's no such thing as the boogeyman, there's no such thing as the boogeyman, there's no such thing as-

She suddenly felt the covers shift, as if... someone was... pulling on them.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH IT'S THE BOOGEYMAN AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

The scream had startled her and she quickly clamped her hand over her mouth.

No no no no there was no such thing, there was no-
And then there was a muffled sound like something being dragged.

Carrie whimpered and placed her hands over her ears, trying to drown out everything.

[ Carrie screamed! +10 Fear ]

Shun cringed at the shrill cry. Damn little girls had a high pitched scream. Not only that, but he sort of deadpanned at being referred to as a 'boogeyman'. Like hell he was one of those guys. But! He had gotten a reaction. The kid had screamed and a quick glance at his meter proved that the number had risen.

Waiting a little bit, he bode his time a little, listening. He could hear a sort of whimpering over him. It was then that he heard something fall over nearby.

Peeking out from under the bed, he could see who else was in the room now. It was Victoria. After raising an eyebrow at her, he ducked back under and looked to see what else he could do here.

Shifting his position a little, he kicked the toy chest not far from the bed hard to try and make a loud thud.

Victoria's smile grew, and she resisted the urge to giggle when another scream was heard; it was, however, sadly time for her to move on to another house. Just as she was about toe phase out the wall, she realized that apart from the thump from her causing the chair to fall over, there was another thump from somewhere else.

Oh right. Shun. She had followed the reaper until she lost him...

Looking around the room from her hiding spot under the desk, she decided to help pick up the chair - Matron told her that making a mess in someone else's room would make her a bad child, and she was a good ghoul! - before phasing out the wall; Shun was bound to exit the house too, sooner or later!

[Uh, exit? ouo]

Hiding under a bed was not at all comfortable, but that was the first place Xiu went once she had managed to sneak into the room. She had already gone through a few scarelings' rooms already, but she still didn't have a concrete idea on what scared humans. Some of the scarelings had been frightened by soft, subtle noises, and others had required much more obvious cues such as throwing things around. What would it be for this child?

Admittedly, she did feel a little bad--especially when her actions brought the little human scarelings to frightened tears--but a job was a job. Taking a deep breath, Xiu began to scratch at the bottom of the bed, raking her nails over the wood and emitting a creepy giggle every so often. This continued on for a few seconds, and then she fell completely silent.

One...two...

On the count of three, she suddenly slammed her palm into the bottom of the bed, causing a loud THUMP to sound through the room. She began to giggle again (oh Jack this was awkward) and slowly crawled out from beneath the bed so that the giggling would change, moving from a muffled sound contained beneath the bed to one that became clearer and louder with every passing second.
