Word was Red was set up in Crickets office. Granted that might be because they froze Red's old office over. Someone should really tell Red about that sometime... hopefully not right now.
So when she finally made her way to Crickets she found that the nurse was out for the time, leaving Red alone in. Was that a pillow fort? The two beds where tied together with the matress low to the floor with Red curled up in it.
All around it looked like Red had made herself rather cozy little corners of the office.
"Sup Red." She stepped in through the door once the greeting was offered moving to tug a chair over to the makeshift bed fort spinning it around to sit resting on the back watching Red. "Been meaning to swing by... wanted to chat if that's okay?" She cocked her head slightly to the side purple eyes flickering lazily. "You've been busy though, the training fields look amazing all those weeds gone." She frowned a bit, "You know I used to think... if you never came back I wanted to be the new gym teacher. Live up to what you did for us... guess that jobs been filled again huh?"

As someone entered the room, Red stirred from her state of half-slumber. A pair of solid glowing red eyes peered out from the depths of the fort before Sammy took her seat. In a few moments the dark shape of beast was replaced by her humanoid form. She scooted towards the edge of her fort, grabbing some pillows to flop on. "Heh. I haven't gotten all of them. There are still plenty more to grab, but that's for another day. Weeds, that is," she added.
Then she stopped. She gave Sammy a calculating look as if appraising her. "Oh really?" She began, "You? As a gym teacher? Go on and pull the other one. That gym is mine." Red buffed her nails, adding, "But maybe if you grow up a little ghoulie, you might have a shot at gym assistant... Or not."
She continued to grin, dropping the act in order to sit up and stretch. "Ahh, I missed having a bed. Was there something specific you wanted to talk about...?"

Sammy didn't mind the beast at all. Having spent the day as a Scareon once she could understand how enjoyable it would be to curl up in a form like that on a pile of pillows. Shame that day was spent fighting evil, chaos, and so on. "Well ya know... if you still have that uhh weapon thing... could just... purge with fire?" She raised an eyebrow and made a waving motion like she had a flame thrower on her arm. "Just try to warn undead students to stay away for a bit when ya do."
When the discussion of her as a gym teacher came up Sammy only shrugged, "What? You don't think a Ghoul who has a record of standing up against JingleBerry, got this badass scar from you breathing fire on her. Fought hunters on a monthly basis? C'mon I have a kickass left hook I could so be a gym assistant..." She tried to look hurt for a moment but just ended up grnning like an idiot.
"Still love having a demon dorm room. Beds are so freaking huge and comfy." She paused for a moment tapping her chin with a finger of bone. She almost didn't want to ask the questions. They where just chatting, being happy. Still some things where nagging at her.
"I wanted to ask... why I guess?" Her purple eyes flickered dim focusing on the chair, one black bone finger poking at a chip of peeling wood. "You worked... with the hunters. To get your weapon. I just.... I trust you Red. You had a reason. But still. The hunters have hurt us, they hurt my friends, the Boogiemen, they tried shutting down the school, they attacked Maladore after Riley died. I just.... I trust the school, and I trust you. But I just want to understand why."
The more she spoke the quieter she got.

The werewolf was still, silent, expressionless. "You do not know the full story," Red pointed out at last. "Things are never what they seem to be. What, then, is the purpose of the Hunters? Of the Boogeymen? Amityville, students, and Halloween alike?"

"The understatement of the year." She was silent for a moment pondering that before she continued, "On the surface? Hunters kill Halloween creatures, at least they claim to kill the 'dangerous ones' like the Horsemen considering they want to end all of Humanity. Boogeymen, are the law enforcement designed to keep Halloween in check from harming the human population and each other. Some Hunters have said the Boogeymen suck at their job hence the need for Hunters. But why attack students? Why show up at every twist and turn we're involved in? Why where they here so many years ago when you where a student?"
She shrugged, "At the end of it all... self preservation? Halloween wants to survive as much as humans do. And the prior can't do it without the later. As for myself..." She looked around the room, "I just want to protect my home."

Red ignored the question as she pressed further. "And what do you think their purpose is? Just to protect? To defend?"

Her question wasn't answered, but she didn't press the matter on that. At least not yet. "First to protect, second to destroy."

"First you look after your own and once they are safe in your den, you will go to hunt and eliminate that which brought them harm in the first place? Thus ensuring that they were protected from that immediate threat?"

Her eyes flickered dim for a moment as she looked down, "Exactly like that, but when you put it that way I sound almost as bad as a Hunter..."

"Does that make me a terrible person then?" She glanced at Red again eyes flickering up from the floor as she rested her chin on the back of her chair. "I just... I don't want to see this school closed, or the students hurt. Especially the ones I actually care about."

"That depends on how you see things. The world was never black and white," Red sighed as she sat up, leaning against the footboard of her bedfort. "It is a shame that it took my appearance to make many realize that the world is nothing more than a colossal mix of light and dark grays. The perception of those values changes in accordance to your own, and how you see things."
The professor shrugged. "I do not agree with your world view. I used to see the world in a similar way, yes... but it, like anything, can change."

"I've never exactly sat down to talk to anyone about this either. And if you ask most students we can sum everything up as 'hunters are bad'." A bone finger moved to scratch lazily at a piece of peeling paint on the chair as they spoke, a point of a focus while they talked.
"They put a tracker in one of my friends, they might take her again, or use them against us. How can that be good?"

"So every hunter is bad no matter what just because they are a Hunter?"

Sammy sat quietly for a while she knew the answer to the question but it was the last thing she wanted to admit. Eventually she gave in.
"No... not necessarily."
