Occupant: Sammy Westwell Total Fear of occupant: 0 Small blurb about him: Ever since he was a kid, he loved soccer, picking it up when he was six. That was about the first time he ever saw the strange shadows, milling about random places. At the mall with his mom, whenever they passed by an abandoned house in construction. Though he still plays soccer, he is also terrified, and spends most of his time hiding under his covers. He's not too happy about the entire playground rule now to turn off the nightlights, things are scary enough as is, especially when the shadows talk back. **OOC - OOC DISCLAIMER: Please note, your kid CANNOT see Halloween creatures lmao :> They can sometimes feel something is VERY SCARY, but they can't see the actual creature.

Jimmy was a meanieface for telling him to do this, and Sammy was angry. He so was not going to turn off his night light, the shadows might eat him!
He was going to stay up all night to make sure they didn't eat him either!
All... night...
He quickly fell asleep

Human scarelings smelled good, Nahm realized. Like little midnight snacks, waiting to be eaten up. Delicious. No, wait. Right. Scaring, not eating. He was here to scare. He slid the window almost closed again, leaving just a crack to let in a nice chill draft.
He padded across the room, deftly avoiding toys and clothes on the floor, and slipped under the bed, pleased that he'd chosen a scareling with a nice high bunk bed under which he could comfortably fit his tall frame. The scareling's outline had been visible through the flimsy fabric of the tent over its bed, and he'd made careful note of where it was lying; he moved silently to a spot just under where its head rested, reached up to the bottom of the bunk, and popped his claws out through his gloves to scratch at the wood.
Scritch .... scritch scritch ... scriiiiitch .... Pause. Scriiiiiitch scritch scritch ... He muffled the urge to giggle dementedly in his scarf.

Silence.
And then the bed visible squeaked and thumped, blankets shifting all at once before settling down. A human scareling's voice called from a further distance away. "I know you're here." It was quavering. prolixity Sammy is spooked! +10 Fear

Oh, excellent. Delicious. Nahm glanced down at his meter and was pleased to see that the needle had jumped a notch. He couldn't answer the scareling in so many words, but he could respond to its call anyway.
He rested his clawtips on the bottom of the bunk and tapped in a slow, distinct pattern. Tap, tap, ta-tap tap ... tap ta-tap, ta-tap tap ... Was the mocking, teasing sing-song that Halloween scarelings used to provoke each other on playgrounds universal? It might be. Even if it wasn't, the pattern was clear and deliberate, obviously the product of something under the bed rather than some chance creak or settle of the house.

The result was instantaneous as immediately, the lights flickered brighter. They remained that way for a bit longer, until with a rather resigned sigh, they dimmed again. Shadows pooled everywhere around the room: the Human scareling didn't even bother moving, instead staying very still now. The only sounds for a while was a heavy breathing.
And then-
"Are you going to take me?" It was a question asked surprisingly, very calmly. "Are you going to take me like you did to Lisa?" Pause, silence, as they waited for something. "Noone believes me, but I know you exist, monsters and stuff. Everyone at school laughs at me." He sounded bitter. "They looked at my room and said I was having nightmares and there was no such person as Lisa I made her up, but I know it's not true because you took her. You took her and wouldn't give her back and now you'll take me too and everyone will forget me as well."
The kid only sounded resigned.

Quietly, Shun made his way into the next kid's room, quietly closing the door after him. Upon entering, he caught the tail end of the boy speaking. Something about getting forgotten. He noticed right away that he didn't sound... that scared? Then again, he had a light at the moment. Though, it wasn't like when a kid shrieked something among the lines of 'leave my stuff alone!' or anything else really. If he had heard everything, he'd be even more confused. In any case that would have to change.
Making up his mind of what he was going to do, he made his way into the closet.
Once there, he summoned his daggers, then slowly began to run the blades against one another to make a sort of metallic shink.

The scareling spoke. Spoke directly to Nahm, and what it said surprised him; he was suddenly in the uncomfortable and unwelcome position of feeling a drop of sympathy for a human scareling. Though he didn't think of his siblings often aside from his twin, inclination and upbringing had taught him to value family over almost anything else, and it sounded like the scareling's sibling had been taken. By whom? Not a Trick or Treater, that was for sure. The job was to scare, not to kidnap or kill. His claws stilled against the bottom of the bunk, and he hesitated. Human smelled delicious, smelled like food, and he was here to scare, and Nox had said specifically not to talk to the humans. But the scareling hadn't produced more FEAR yet, and it had piqued his curiosity. He'd paused for too long, he realized as the sound of blades scraping together came from the closet. Someone else was here, and if he broke the prohibition to speaking to humans, the creature in the closet would hear him and possibly get him into some s**t with the Trick or Treater. But that thought itself made him bristle with irritation, his dislike for most authority a thorn in his side. Afraid of getting in trouble? What was he, a scareling himself? He dropped his voice to a low tone. "Got a clan name, kid? Lisa ain't much to go on." If whoever was in the closet gave him trouble ... he'd deal with it then.

Moving carefully, the lightning dragon edged into a new room and blinked when he realized that someone was actually . . . talking to this kid. Wasn't that something that they weren't supposed to do? He frowned, but didn't say anything yet, just moving over toward the end of the bed near the closet. From there, he reached up and started tugging on the sort of tent-thing atop the bed while making low growling sounds.

Anyone even with remotely sensitive hearing could hear it. Thump-thump. Thump-thump. Thump-thump.
A heart beating erratically, way too fast, a strange feeling gifted to all occupants in the room the second Nahm spoke. Fear, and in excessive amounts. The Human scareling was terrified and their Fear was strong to the point of almost intoxicating.
The bed creaked slightly, a little more, the kid for a second darted towards the curtains, and then at the closet almost as if he could see them. "Um." He finally squeaked. There was a strange noise, a sniffing sound. The kid was now crying. "I'm- I'm Sammy and um, please don't tell my mommy. She says there are bad monsters in her dreams too. D-does it hurt?"

There was a voice that didn't belong to the kid. It sounded kind of familiar actually. Furrowing his brow, he peeked on out of the closet, though he couldn't see who it was under the bed. They weren't really supposed to talk to the kids, so he had to wonder what he was up to, speaking up like that. Shun said nothing for now, however. There was something in the air that was more distracting too. There was a lot of fear in the room now, a boatload of it. The reaper closed his eye for the moment, not having expected that and he was almost lost to the sensation. This kid was scared. There was no doubting that.
Shaking his head, he looked towards the child on the bed, who.. actually darted around the room to the various hiding places. Hm. Oh great, he was crying now too. He dismissed his weapons once more, finding no need to continue moving the blades together at this point. Quite frankly, he wasn't completely certain what he should do from this point. It sounded like the kid was worried they were going to hurt him. Maybe. While that was not their intention, he found no reason to reassure him otherwise. That would be a little counterproductive to scaring.
He stood there silently. He considered asking what hurts, or making some sort of semi threatening statement, but for now, he decided to remain quiet. But, he slowly opened the closet door some with a creak, just so the kid knew that something was still there.
He was going to observe.

Oh Jack the kid was talking back . . . but also, there was something about this room. Something about this little scareling. Aksaja felt almost drunk on the FEAR coming from the bed in waves, swaying just a little on his feet. Then he grinned. He wanted more. The volume of his growling rose slowly, until it burst into a full-voiced roar, claws pricking at the tent.

The feeling of terror washed over Nahm, making him feel almost drunk. He lolled his tongue out over a sharp-toothed grin, savoring it for long seconds. Then he remembered. His meter had buried the needle, he had sure as hell scared the scareling for more than 25 points of FEAR, and there were definitely witnesses to what he'd done. One of whom was keeping up the scaring. "Will you assholes shut up," he snapped at the unfamiliar voice that had roared. "Someone took the kid's sister. If that gets back to the Boogeys, what'll happen with the Trick or Treaters?" To the scareling, he said, "Go on, get back in bed, nobody's gonna eat you tonight." He'd already screwed himself over; might as well go all the way.

Shun furrowed his brow at that. Someone had taken his sister? The Reaper thought this over for a moment or so. Was that what the kid was talking about when he had first entered? The only words he had heard were something like 'I'll be forgotten too'.
"You sure it was one of us?" he asked quietly, speaking more to the Grue under the bed. 'Us' being someone from Halloween. Obviously it couldn't have happened tonight or there would be a bigger mess at the moment. Even then, he had doubts it had anything to do with the Trick or Treaters. Though, he supposed if the Boogeys caught wind of something like that, they'd lay blame on them anyway. Damn them.
In a way, he was kind of surprised the kid hadn't pissed himself at this point if he had someone who was whisked away for whatever reason. Something seemed a little off though.
Shifting his weight in the closet, he just leaned against the wall while placing his hands into his pockets.

Aksaja coughed at Nahm's reprimand, only realizing then just how far off the charts the needle on his meter was. Whoops. Hopefully they hadn't permanently damaged the kid or anything. Mostly because then they couldn't come back . . . and this scareling was tasty. Crouching down near the floor, he muttered, "Nope, actually I didn't hear that. Must have come in after he said it. Sorry, damn." His head turned toward the closet at Shun's question and golden eyes narrowed.
"It could have been them. The Hunters," he suggested softly, glancing back up at the bed.
