She could still taste it. The blood that oozed out of their bodies as her jaws clenched even tighter, Deaf to their screams of pain...With a start, Poke jerked from her sleepy conciseness, again, in the middle of the night. A few days had passed since their return 'home', and not the fog ridden one that the insanity continuously chanted (she would never look at a foggy morning the same way again). Since then, she had experienced a slew of dreams, ranging from being torn apart by insanity monsters, to tearing others apart as one herself. It was the four clans all over again, except this time in was a hundred times worse. Groaning, the dragon ghoul sat up, rubbing her eyes and stared irritably at the walls of her cavern. This was getting ridiculous, she wanted to jacking sleep, not have to deal with a guilty conscience. But as much as she wouldn't admit it, she would have to face them, otherwise she would never be able to live it down. Sighing, she stood up and walked out of her dorm room. It took a little time and navigation, as trying to find the demon dorms when you're never been there not to mention doing so in the middle of the night almost guaranteed you would get lost. So after some time of walking around the campus in circles, the dragon ghoul managed to find the long walkway up to the dorms, and then processed towards a certain cat ghouls room. As quietly as she could (which was not at all) she knocked on Riyo's door. "Oy...you awake?"

Was Riyo awake? No, no Riyo was most certainly not awake. It was the middle of the damn night, and some poor schmuck was knock knockin' on her door.
With a loud groan, the feline arose from her slumber like someone might see in one of those old Frankenstein movies. Eyes half open, she slid her feet out from under the covers and into her cat-shaped slippers. It had been the first good sleep in awhile, all things considered, but she really couldn't find it in herself to be incredibly enraged. Honestly... She had a hard time feeling anything this late in the evening.
The sound of scraping across the floor was the only noise that would sound until the hesitant cracking of the door. A half-lidded bed-headed Riyo peered out, expressionless and worn. She looked Poke up and down, then stared blankly for a few moments. "I am now." It was almost inaudible with the way she grumbled and groaned.
"To what do I owe the pleasure of being called from my slumber?"

Seeing Riyo looking half asleep made Poke have second thoughts about knocking in the middle of the night. She had assumed she would be up, since she was a cat demon and cats usually were nocturnal. At least she thought they were. The dragon ghoul appeared uncertain at first, not answering Riyo straight away as her fists clenched and unclenched. Now that she had came here, she was at a loss of words. What the heck was she supposed to say? "I came here to apologize" She said eventually. "Or at least try too. I know the things I did cannot be forgiven so easily, but I thought it would be better to face up to my deeds instead of ignoring them."

Riyo went right back to staring for awhile, taking longer moments to actually process what the dragon was saying. Her blinking slowed, and the ghoul began to lean against the doorway.
Then, after awhile, she sighed and shook her head. "This couldn't wait until tomorrow?" It was a question that had obviously been answered long before asking.
Another pause of lasting silence. "Alright. Well. Come in then." The ghoul shoved herself away from the door frame and grudgingly walked back into the room, flipping on the lights before continuing farther. Hell, she didn't know if dragons had night vision. She didn't really want to think about more than she had to anyways.
Feet shuffling to the kitchen, Riyo grabbed her bottle of milk out of the fridge and two glasses, which were placed on either side of the table. "Siddown." Time for more life coaching, she supposed.

It was a awkward wait to see what Riyo would say. Weather it would be to tell her to bugger off, or if she would get aggressive. But the bakeneko didn't seem to be angry, more sleepy if anything.
"I...thought cats stayed up at night" Poke said eventually, seeming surprised when she was invited inside. Stepping through the door, she took a few moments to look around the dorm. It was nothing like her own cavern, but she could see it was well furnished. The ghoul must of been loaded to afford half of the things she saw. She also noticed a ton of...cats. Yeah, there defiantly seemed to be a lot of cats around this place.
Upon request, she sat down at the opposite side of the table, taking the drink thankfully and sipping the contents. She had no idea what Riyo was planning, but she couldn't be sure it would be a good thing.

"Well that's rather racist of you." Riyo mumbled, immediately taking a seat across from the dragon. The way she was slumped over you'd think she was some kind of hunchback.
"Anyways." The ghoul toyed with her glass of milk before finally taking a drink. "Poke." Riyo began sleepily, sporting a new milk mustache. "You don't seem like the type to apologize for someone else so, why now?" She figured it would be best to just come right out with the direction she was taking this thing. "Most of us went through that... That phase. That feeling. I think we are all quite aware that there was no control or conviction in what you did."

Racist? Poke wasn't exactly sure how Riyo made such a harsh connection, but she wasn't concerned with being called a few names at the moment.
As the cat ghoul began to talk, she listened intently, though it became clear that even Riyo was ready to forgive and forget what she had done. She was shocked at just how easily she and Xiu had brushed off her attack. It was true she was taken over by insanity, but even so...
"Because it seems like a huge cop-out to me, thats why." She frowned, closing her eyes momentarily. " A giant excuse for my inability to stand my ground against a enemy." She frowned. "Or to be able to control my own jacking mind. I got thrashed, Riyo. And I don't mean just beaten to a pump. I was jacking beheaded by a insect. In one fell swoop I was changed. I didn't put up a ounce of fight after that. I knew exactly what was going on and even so I didn't not stop it. I..."
By now her hands were shaking on the desk, and she clenched them tightly to stop it. "I can still taste them. I can feel my teeth crushing them into FEAR. And...." Again she closed her eyes and bowed her head, fist once again shaking. "I can still feel the joy of doing it."

The feline's eyes slowly began to narrow, though this time not from sleepiness. Oh how little it took to get Riyo angry, and it seemed that every word after cop-out was just more sparks in an all-out attempt to light the catalyst that would set her off.
"Shut up." She mumbled at first. "SHUT UP." The second time was a scream, followed by the slamming and shattering of her glass on the table. Oh good. Now there was milk everywhere. Not that the cats seemed to mind. It was more like a treat for them.
"You idiot." The feline sneered, now fully awake. "You're not succeeding at making yourself feel better here, you're only making me feel worse." Riyo stood, her hands grasping the table so she could lean in to look the dragon square in the eye. "I hope you haven't gone to anyone else and apologized like this. Think about what you're saying for a moment. You weren't the only one taken over. You weren't the only one who felt helpless and guilty for what they did. By suggesting that it's just a 'giant excuse' means that all those other students are also 'copping-out'." And to that, the ghoul took great offense.

It didn't take long for Poke to realize the folly of her judgment in revealing how she felt. Jumping at the sudden screaming, her started eyes looked into Riyo's accusing glare. Anger began to rise in the pit of her stomach, her eyes narrowing to slits as she matched the glare. She felt like she was cornered, being accused of something completely different then what she had intended.
"Thats not-" She began to shout, then stopped in her tracks, biting her bottom lip to keep herself from continuing. She was in no position to get angry here, when she had approached the ghoul in the middle of the night.
"I wasn't trying to insult you or anyone else..." She tried again, in a much quieter voice. So far she had managed to hold Riyo's stare, but now she had to look away. "I just..."
She trained her eyes on the spilt milk and broken glass instead. "I don't care if you're mad. In all honesty I'd prefer that. But not for the reasons you said."

Oh, if Poke was going to make this a screaming match, Riyo would be more than happy to oblige her with the verbal lashing of her lifetime.
But it seemed that wouldn't be necessary... Yet. "It doesn't matter if you were trying or not." The ghoul began to tone down, though her voice was still dead serious. "If a man accidentally opens the flood gate on a dam thinking it did something else, he still flooded an entire town." Reluctantly the feline sat back down, nails tapping on the polished wood of her table.
It wasn't that Riyo didn't understand where Poke was coming from. She understood full well. "I don't understand why you chuckle ******** come to me for support. In the middle of the night, no less." At least the grumbling wasn't screaming. "Okay. Look Poke. I can understand feeling weak. Your body was under the control of some ******** up... I guess demi-god, if you want to think of it like that. You know very well I'm not someone who likes to make excuses for follies, but there was not a thing you could've done to help the outcome. You're just a year one student. Imagine how bad the third years feel about being taken over." For that, Riyo gestured to herself. Truly there was a little bit of shame in how she had fallen. The cat ghoul barely put up a fight... Because she let her feelings get in the way.
"But to suggest there was something more you could've done. Suggesting that you didn't try hard enough, means that none of us tried hard enough. You should find solace in the fact that you were not the only one."

Poke didn't want to say anything at the moment, but when she lifted her glance up to look at Riyo again, it was clear she felt guilty. Though when the feline revealed what year she was in, her eyes widened. There was a moments thought of 'dammit why is everyone around here a Hob', but she pushed that aside. I...didn't realize you were controlled as well." She tried to think back to the fight, as much as it pained her. Had she changed Riyo? No...No, there was someone else there. A giant nude cat. Perhaps he was the one whom had done it?
The dragon ghoul then sighed. "I'm sorry..." Riyo was right. She was dead right and it left her feeling frustrated and guilty and. Just. Everything. She wanted to go punch something.
"Who...else was controlled." She asked tentatively, although she wasn't sure she really wanted to know.

Oh. Hey. Her speech actually worked for once. About Jack damn time.
"Yeah. I don't remember much from it but.. I was there too." And perhaps she hadn't had the same gruesome experience, but there had been other times that similar events took her... Down that road.
"Don't apologize. Just remember this s**t and move on." Riyo didn't like apologizing, and she didn't like it when people apologized to her. It sounded hollow.
Though when Poke asked about the others, the ghoul tapped her chin in thought. Who did the dragon know? "Deacon, I know for sure. He killed me." The way she said it with such nonchalance might've implied she'd shrugged it off a long time ago. "Amphi. I think... Xiu might've been." The feline paused as she tried to rattle other names through her head, but that seemed to be about the extent she knew. "Other than that, I'm not entirely sure. I know there was more, but I'm not exactly the most social."

Right. Good advice. And it was high time she stopped giving such a s**t about this subject. Though it would take longer to just 'shrug it off', she had dealt with the hardest issue, so it was more manageable.
Poke had relaxed back into the chair, only to sit bolt upright. "D...Deacon?!" She spluttered the name of the smart a** feline. Her jaw then dropped at the ease with which Riyo explained that Deacon had just killed her. Like it was something she didn't give two ******** about.
"I didn't even realize that guy was there." She sat back and folded her arms with a frown. "And you say Xiu was changed too?" Although now that she thought about it, Xiu had mentioned something about that when they were in the haunted house. Amphi however she was not familiar with. Whatever the case, she hoped she wouldn't have to deal with jacking insanity ever again. Although, she doubted the chances of that happening were high.
"Say..." She said again after a while. "Have you heard of Red?"

"Yes. Deacon. He..." Riyo paused for a moment, letting out a sigh before she continued. "He had been suffering by it for a long time. And I was the only one who knew about it." At least that was what he told her at one point.
"Xiu might just be a rumor, though. I'd heard her name mentioned once through the grapevine. I haven't actually visited her to see if it was true. I haven't actually visited anybody, to be honest." It wasn't that she didn't worry, per se. It was that she didn't want to bring it up. It was like poking at someone's shortcomings. She was sure everybody felt equally bad about the incident.
Riyo enjoyed the moments of silence that passed between the two. With every quiet moment, her eyes started to sag more and more. Her head nodded as her eyes shut. It looked like she might drift off... Until Poke spoke again.
"Eh? Oh. Yeah. Red." The ghoul grimaced at the mention. "I was around a little before she..." The demoness lifted her hands, making air quotations. "Died." Riyo's tired eyes rolled as she spoke that word. That word that seemed so needless to them. "I was also sort of there when it happened. What a mess that was..."

Wow. Holy mother of Jack. Finding out what Deacon had been putting up with for so long made her feel just a tiny bit guilty for slamming that drum into his face.
Just a little
"Neither have I. You're the only one I've seen so far." She added, before listening again.
"So you were there..." She folded her arms. "I've seen glimpses of her during the trance thing. Theres also been the occasional whisper of her name in the hallway. She's considered some sort of epic bad a** as far as I'm aware off.
Well, we'll get to see more of her now. She's back."
