The morning was just about over and the sun was getting close to it's peak but Hidaya wasn't too concerned. She was exploring her new home with excitement and curiousity. When she had first been found she could have never imagined where she would be only a short while later. She'd become lost from her mother but she'd been found by a loving pair who had already taken in two male cubs as their own and were happy to take her and raise her since she'd become lost. By the time they had made it to their new home two more little boys had joined the family. She was the only girl of the group besides her new mom but it wasn't too bad she was just thankful to be safe.

She missed her mother terribly but as time continued on her memories of her were slowly fading away. With each passing day more memories were fading and becoming more like dreams with just little flashes of her mother from a far away vantage point.

As Hidaya walked she came to a small acacia tree and sat down in it's shade to cool off for a moment. While she sat there she gazed at the biggest landmark in the pride lands the pride rock. She had never seen a rock formation like it and it amazed her so much to see it. She wondered if she would ever be able to get over the awe she had at it.

User ImageOn the other side of Hidaya's acacia lurked a dark-furred cub who was staring intently into a hole in the ground. She had seen something scurry down it earlier and done her best to pursue it, but she was too large. So now she was just going to wait. It had to show up again at some point, and when it did she'd bonk it on the head and eat it. That had been the plan twenty minutes ago, anyway, but Hviske wasn't all that patient and she felt like she'd been waiting and watching for absolute ages.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are," she tempted the scurrying creature half-heartedly.

Her tail thumped on the ground with impatience. This was pointless. Utterly pointless. Hunting was stupid. There were so many other hunters in the pride, she had no reason to learn. Maybe she'd be something else when she drew up. A historian, maybe, or a cub-sitter. No. Not a cub-sitter. That was like hunting but with no biting allowed.

Hidaya had still been staring at Pride rock when she heard someone talking behind her. Her ears flicked in the direction of the sound of the other individual then she turned her head. She couldn't see the other individual from where she sat so she got up.

Curiousity griped her as she walked around the tree unsure what she was going to find. To her surprise there sat another cub just a bit bigger than her probably because she was older but Hidaya didn't care about that. She was happy to see another cub and a girl at that. She didn't have any adopted sisters so finding other girls to play with was always exciting.

"Hey! What are you doing?" She asked in a very friendly manner.

Hviske really kind of wanted to die of embarrassment right there. How had she not noticed that there was someone on the other side of the tree? That had to be at least six kinds of stupid. She still wasn't up to her brother's far more impressive twelve kinds of stupid, but that had only been the one time. He hadn't done anything that moronic since. Yes. Hviske kept track of how many kinds of stupid an action or series of actions was. She never told anyone their score though, unless they passed ten.

"Oh, hello!" Just because she had been stupid didn't mean she also had to be rude. Hviske hated to be rude.

"I was stalking some prey. See, I saw it scurry down this hole and I figured I would just wait for it to come out again, but I've been waiting for absolute ages and I don't think it's going to. Probably it has a back way in and out and it's already gone."

She shrugged and added with a smile, "I'm Hviske, by the way." It didn't bother her in the least that she didn't know the other cub. There were a lot of lions in the pridelands, and she didn't think if she lived to be a million she'd learn all their names.

Hidaya perked her ears up and listened to the dark cub explain what she was doing. While she listened she glanced from the cub to the hole the prey went down and back again several times. "I bet you're right. The little prey probably had an exit out of it's den just for times like this." She replied with a nod and a smile to the darker cub.

"My name is Hidaya. It's a pleasure to meet you Hviske." She stated as she sat down a couple of feet away from her. "I'm kind of new to this place. I don't know anyone except the two lions who found me and the cubs that came back with us."

Hviske decided abruptly that she didn't particularly care about the prey anymore. She had met someone new who was her own age and evidently not related to her at all.

"So you're not related to anybody here at all? Wow! That is so cool!" That was kind of exciting to the dark-furred cub. It wasn't like she was related to everyone like some of the lions whose families had been here since forever and a half, but Hviske's family was large and wide-flung, or so it seemed to her.

"There are a lot of lions here who seem to be related to pretty much everyone," she explained, rolling her eyes to emphasize the ridiculous degree of relationships in the Pridelands.

Hidaya had family but she had no idea where they were. She had lost her mom on the rogue lands and she had no clue where she had gone at all. She knew nothing about her dad except that her mom said they had the same color fur and same eyes. It wasn't much to go on especially while being so young.

The way Hviske spoke of the lions here being related to everyone seemed like fun. Family everywhere you turned all who loved you it sounded just wonderful to her! "That actually sounds like fun! I don't know how big my family is. I'm having a hard time remembering much about them but I do dream of my parents every night! They're always in different places and it's like I'm watching them from above." She sighed a bit feeling sad about not being with her real parents. "Do you have a bunch of family here?"

Sorry. This RP fell through the cracks somehow. Please forgive me.

"Huh. That's kind of weird," Hviske said. She wasn't really old enough to be tactful. "Neat though. Are you a seer?"

Hviske knew all about seers. A few of the people she knew in the pride were seers, and they got visions of all kinds of interesting people and places. Sometimes she wished that she could be a seer like them, but most of the time she was content not to be. After all, it was probably very frustrating to have visions but not know who was in them or where they were, or even when they took place.

"Oh, I've enough," Hviske said vaguely. "I have seven siblings and on my dad's side I have about a billion cousins and aunts and uncles twice removed and stuff. It's not all that interesting, really, unless you like figuring out how you're related to people, which is really boring."

Hidaya looked confused by Hviske's question. She had never heard the word seer before. "What's a seer?" She asked curiously. She had no idea what it was so maybe she was one. There was always the possibility.

When Hviske spoke of her family Hidaya's jaw dropped. She had never seen someone with a large family, that she knew of anyway. Thinking of being related to many many other lions was exciting to her. They all had something in common even if it was only other relatives but that was a start to something that could become more. Family was a wonderful thing in her eyes and having lots of family was a dream come true.

"I don't find that boring at all. Having lots of family sounds exciting. Everywhere you turn there is someone you are related to and have something in common with. Wow... It sounds wonderful."

Princess_Feylin
No problem. I've been having a tough time keeping up with replies recently. ^^;

"Seers are people who can see things that haven't happened yet, but will. Or which did happen, but they weren't there for. Or which are happening right now, but they can't actually see them with their eyes. I think. It's kind of...um...hard to explain. Especially if you aren't one. Which I'm definitely, definitely not." She grinned. Obviously she really wasn't the least bit bothered by lacking this gift.

She continued grinning at Hidaya's amazement. "Y'know, I could introduce you around to my family if you want. Most of them are nice, except for my one sister who's a total buttmunch but I'm hoping she grows out of it. Or gets sat on by a hippo. Either one."

Not that Hviske had the slightest idea where most of her family was at the moment, but they'd all be home for food later. Maybe Hidaya could get permission from whoever was looking after her to have dinner with Hviske's family tonight.

"You could come to dinner tonight! They won't all be there of course because my aunts and uncles and cousins and all that have their own dens, but you could at least meet my brothers and sisters and my mum and dad."

Izzy Makani
Hah! A timely response from me. I get all the points! cool
We could probably finish this RP off with your next post, too! Go us!

When Hviske tried to explain to her what a seer was Hidaya had a very hard time wrapping her mind around it. For all she knew she was a seer and her dreams were her seer ability in action but she couldn't be sure. She'd certainly be making a note to find a seer to explain it to her.

For now though she had other things to do like meet Hviske's family. A smile lit up her face as Hviske asked her to eat dinner with her family. "That sounds like so much fun Hviske! I would love to! I just have to ask my new mom Sarabi. I'll be back!" She exclaimed and then she rushed off to find her new mom. She was so excited to be invited to eat dinner with Hviske and her family. Deep down she hoped her and Hviske could become good friends. She would so much enjoy that.
