It had taken a bit of digging but she had a name. Madison. More digging, a division. Death. Narrow the field? Trainee. Solia had her target. Like a dog running after a bone, Solia was trailing the trainee, aiming to get answers. About Israfel. From what she knew? Madison was involved. But that was it. All she knew. Nothing more. Isra was a tablet, and couldn't tell her not to look for answers to his past, so... perfectly legit.

A girl fitting the description of the intermediate, Solia smiled, skipping her way up. "Hi, are you Madison? I'm Solia do you have some free time I have a few questions about Israfel and what he was and stuff."

And stuff.

Madison had been drifting about Deus aimlessly, with Kouki tucked in her obi, the weapon tablet still wrapped up tightly in the runic bandage she'd wrapped around him right after she'd returned from that blighted place. The silence was deafening.

Which was probably why she jumped a mile at being so suddenly - and enthusiastically - addressed. She automatically slipped into a defensive pose, unconsciously calling Kouki, but her wrist was bereft of beads and no blade came to fill her waiting hand.

... Right.

"I... yeah, I'm Madison," she said, a little weakly, brushing her outstretched hand through her hair as if she'd totally made a natural gesture, and not an aborted weapon-summoning at all. "You're... you're new, huh?"

Israfel.

She blinked. "Wait. Israfel? You... you know him? Did you... can you start over? Sorry, everything's just kind of really... really off for me right now..."

The jump simply made Solia jump back in reply. She hadn’t meant to startle the other death hunter. A small tinge of worry, she couldn’t help the question that came spilling out. “You okay? Er well, I didn’t mean to startle! But maybe that is a good thing, sneaking skills.” Tangent, Solia shook her head of the thoughts. “Er sorry, but hello Madison!” Solia kept smiling, small worry or not. “I am new. Just a month old. Don’t think I’ve gotten stale just yet. Or had ‘enough suffering’ as some tell me. I don’t get the allure of that. I just want to get facts and docs and stuff. No suffering needed.”

She touched a coat pocket, the tablet giving it a slight weight. “Well, not suffer suffering. He’s just sleeping. Or something.” Or something was an easy way to see it for her. “And yeah! Israfel is my weapon. I guess he was really really recently made into one? Cuz people knew him at the fright night thing and got all defensive when I asked so I did some digging, and cookie bribing, and was told you might know a thing or two and I just really want to find out how stuff works you know?” Maybe she did. Maybe she didn’t. But, it never hurt to ask.

“We can sit down in one of the empty offices if you like. I get the feeling… most people haven’t been doing too well without the voices in our heads anymore.” Versus her the eternal optimist.

"Right... yeah, you'd have to be pretty new," Madison said, still feeling off-balance. The freak - no, Israfel - hadn't been weaponized all that long ago. And maybe that was why this girl was doing better. She hadn't had years to get used to her weapon's presence. She could still remember what it was like to be unpartnered.

"And yeah, he was," she added, a faint smile of pride coming over her face. She'd saved him, and that was a good feeling... though the smile faded a bit as she looked down at the lump in Solia's coat pocket. Saved him for what, exactly...?

She quickly looked back up, meeting Solia's gaze. "Sure... and, um, yeah. I guess when you have someone with you for years, you get... used to them," she said, by way of a very basic explanation. It was by no means adequate to the yawning void inside her, the sensation of emptiness, but... well. "Let's talk."

New to the point of her own ignorance was often annoying her. Solai liked to be in the know and not knowing was nagging at her. Madison would help. Surely. Maybe. Part of Solia really didn't care she was content to just have someone to bother. Or keep company. Terms were really subjective. There was a smile on the other girl's face for a while though it faded a bit. Maybe- Oh.

Her own smile sagged a bit as Madison explained. Solia didn't quite know how to relate, but she imagined it sucked. A lot. "Sort of like always getting up at 6 am but then one day you wake at 10 and everything feels off?" It happened to her once. It was an odd day that one. "Sorry. I'm confident we'll get them back, just- we gotta keep moving. Keep hoping that they'll be back sooner than later, because they will be back. Anyway- I was kind of wondering what you could tell be about him personally. Israfel says he can get feelings about things, and he's really good at telling me the need to know, but when a horsewoman attacked me, screaming how she knew him? He was all blanks. A witch who knew him? He had no idea who she was. He described it like seeing things blind. He sees them, but not the them he might have known."

She rubbed her head. "If that makes sense."

"Yeah... kind of." Madison offered the girl a lopsided smile. "I hope they'll all come back. Don't have any other choice but to hope..." She trailed towards one of the aforementioned empty offices, pushing the door open with a creak. Sure enough, nobody was in there, and from the look of it nobody had been there for some time. But there were chairs, at least.

"Hmm. Well... I met Israfel when he was still a fr- um, a monster. In the Haunted House - it didn't used to be all full of fog and crap," she explained as she sat down, gesturing for Solia to sit in the nearest chair. "Most of the time, the creatures you meet in there are all ready for a fight, already pissed off at us. But he wasn't. I guess... a bunch of the other, um, monsters had gotten together and managed to lure a lone Hunter into the Haunted House, and they ended up killing him." The thought still made her furious, and it showed in the sudden tension in her body.

"But he - Israfel, I mean - I guess he didn't like that. At all. The killing part, I mean. He'd saved the Hunter's pendant-" She fished her own pendant out from under her shirt and waved it at Solia. "And he was looking for a Hunter to give it to. Never saw any of them act like that before, so I listened to what he had to say..."

Solia brightened up at the notion that the house wasn't always full of fog and the 'specialness'. Sitting down and crossing her legs, the death trainee stared at Madison, enamored already with what she was saying. Every bit of info had value. Every. Single. Bit. To be full of monsters and things that wanted to fight- Solia noted it down mentally, wondering if it might revert back over time. Not likely soon, but perhaps in the future.
"Ah, he's still adverse to fighting to be honest." She interjected. The tension at killing was noted but then thus far Solia's experience was just the insanity. No bonds, she didn't note the loss as deep as others. "It... seems like him to not want killing. He feels guilty even if I get upset over simple stuff. Sorry. I don't mean to be rude but, did he talk about himself at all? He probably wouldn't remember the events but, maybe about him? Who he knew? Did he know the hunter? Sorry," rubbing the back of her head, the brunette sighed.

"I'm nosy."

"I'm sure he didn't know Stacey," Madison said, immediately. "Er, not beforehand, I mean. But he... he chose to become a weapon. I mean, yeah, I talked to him a bunch beforehand, but you can't force someone to choose something like that. He did it himself." She shrugged. "He gave me a, uh, the Halloween version of a cell phone to give to one of the other monsters we had in custody at the time. To take back to someone special. Lucy, or something? So I passed it on. They released the others, after tagging 'em for tracking and stuff. Not sure if the message ever made it back, but the monsters we had with us knew damn well what happened to him. They watched. Heh, they're probably all super pissed at me."

The faint smile on Madison's face showed how much she cared about that anger.

Stacey. A name. Noted in her head she tagged it as yet another thing to look up. "He did call it a choice. He's rather adamant about that fact. He told me 'he doesn't expect that many would understand it'. Sadly he'd yet to really elaborate on that. Lucy-" Another name, this one not human likely enough. Another lead to follow up on. Madison's mention of other monsters didn't go unnoticed either, nor did the smile.

A finger to her lips, Solia bit at the skin be her nail. A nasty habit really. "Other saw it happen? Do you know if they were close, or, what their name or species were?" If not or you can't say I understand. This is just- well it's actually rather helpful in it's own way! Just more things to pester him about when he gets back, memory or no."
PostPosted: Sat Nov 03, 2012 10:49 pm

"I... hm." Madison looked thoughtful. "Close? I don't know, I was focusing on Israfel, mostly. One of them, I remembered - I'd tangled with her before, god, a year ago now, I guess? An undead, zombie-type... name started with an A, I think. Ammy or something like that? The others..."

She shook her head. "I'd know them if I saw them again, but honestly, I was too busy taking care of Israfel. We went for a nice walk together, y'know? Out to the beach... he was a good kid, really. Seems weird to say that about a monster, but I think he was... was meant to be yours, y'know? Meant to be partnered. I bet there's more of them, too, the ones that don't fit in, that aren't satisfied. The ones with a destiny, like us. We're meant to be together. I'm just glad I was able to find him for you." Her face was bright with pride.

A somthing. A was a good start. She could go look up some files maybe. Or bribe for them with baked goods. She'd figure something out. "Hrm, he likes the beach. But- you think so?" Solia perked up at the idea of being meant for each other, as anime as it was. To bad it was not typical shojo, then she'd get a hot boyfriend or some kind of magical pow- wait that was Israfel. Israfel was a magical power.

HOLY s**t THAT MADE HER A MAGICAL GIRL.

Mind blown.

"Thank you really! I don't know all the reasons behind everything, but it's nice to think we can help them. A lot of people hate them but...." She shrugged. "I think its just a matter of they take it too far with us, they don't realize that with people like us? They're hurting and ruining our lives. Israfel wants peace but- no peace comes without conflict sadly. History is a painful teacher of that lesson." A roll of brown eyes.
"But you've helped a lot Mad- Mad- Maddy!" Close enough. She stood, looking ready to give a hug.

"It's complicated," Madison said, sympathetically. "But some of them are meant to be our partners, I'm sure of it. Hell, we thought 'em up in the first place! Just watch those Horsemen." Something cold crept into her gaze. "They're the ones who will torture you, maim you. The rest are just... details, really."

"It sounds like a facebook relationship." It was probably very complicated. "And.. yeah. Israfel is very, I dunno, wary of them? He fears more for me than anyone when if comes to them really. Doesn't help one of them went nuts and attacked me. I guess.. she knew Isra. But torture and main- no thanks. Nope. Noooope." All aboard the nope train to ******** the devil is in the details so I owe you!" Solia bounced on her feet. "If you need anything, anything at all, just call me up okay! I'll be happy to help!"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 12, 2012 10:49 am

"Yeah, well, if they're going to go after anyone for Isra, it should be me. You point 'em in my direction," Madison said, with a cocky grin. She was at least better to hold her own than a trainee. Or... she would be, when Kouki came back. If Kouki came back. The smile became a little strained.

"No worries," she assured the trainee. "Maybe sometime we could go into Halloween, in golems and all, and I could point out the ones that knew him..."

Giddy, the death trainee gave a squeal of excitement. "I would love that! And no no, he is my weapon, he worries about me sure, but I'm sure he wouldn't approve of you taking any pains for me. He made his choice, he would want the least number of people to suffer for it."

Solia moved in for the hug. "Thank you so much!"
