It hadn't been long since the elder gave her her dual blades and she hadn't been able to really tell her sisters about it as much as she had wanted to. Sure she had told them a little on the day she got them, but she hadn't been able to really talk to them. Plus there was the shifter Biroki that she wanted to tell them about. The two of them had become friends, or at least she thought so, and she wanted to tell her sisters about him.

Walking around their home tree she wondered where everyone was, and when she spotted Dyakida she smiled. "Hello Dya! Are you busy? I've done all my chores for the day and I was wondering if you wanted to go on a walk or something?" she always had fun when she was around Dya so it made sense that she went looking for her older sister whenever she wasn't busy.

Dyakida was sitting just outside, enjoying the warmth of the sun on her skin. What sun filtered through the branches of the tree, that is.
She 'looked' up as Briella called her and set aside the small crystal dagger she was working on- she was practicing the making of sockets, for things like nice insets. The sort of thing that gave a weapon character.
"Hello Briella." She said, smiling with genuine warmth.
"Nothing that can't wait until later." Which was true. All her other tasks were done, and it was only practice anyway. Something she could do at any time, since lighting was not an issue for her.
It felt like a nice day out, why waste it practicing weaponry. Well, it wouldn't actually be a waste, but still.
A walk with her younger sister sounded excellent. She stood up, offering a hand.
"Where shall we walk? Anywhere in particular?"

Briella took Dyakida's hand happily, leading her towards the way for them to get to the bottom of their home. Looking around she saw no one else was around so she smiled sneaky. "Well I heard Niebet talking about ruins and that she wanted to explore them more but didn't have the chance. I was thinking maybe we could go there first and see if there were any treasures?" Briella said happily. Maybe she shouldn't have been listening in on her elder sisters conversations with their Elder, but she couldn't help it. Plus she knew the weapons that Dya could make from treasures would be much better then anything Niebet would do with them. "What do you think?" she hopped that her sister would agree. She was too scared to go herself but she really wanted to go.

"Ruins? That Does sound like fun."
Dyakida liked exploring, even now when she had to feel her way forward while always keeping in mind that she would have to feel her way back.
It would be risky, but she had Brie there and she loved to spend time with Brie. She had done so more and more during Maya's absence, and had greatly preferred it to being alone.
Plus, it would annoy Niebet, and after another growling, grouchy, nasty little tirade from her this morning... Annoying Niebet in a quiet way like exploring 'her' ruins seemed very very nice right now. Not that she would admit it. Out loud.
"I will keep an antennae out for crumbling stone, and you will keep an eye out for treasures. This will be fun!"
She reached down with her other hand and felt for her bag. Might as well collect supplies. She pawed through it briefly to make sure everything was there.
Satisfied, she took Briella's hand with a smile.
"Shall we go, then?"

She nodded eagerly, knowing although Dya would not be able to see her she would be able to feel her movement. "I knew you would want to go!" she said happily, trying not to be to loud in her excitement. She didn't want anyone else to know. Although originally Briella had been closer to Maya during her absence she had grown closer and closer to Dya. Although she would never say that Dya was her favorite, she kind of was.

"Yes, and together we will be perfectly safe." She would never ever let anything happen to Dya, and since Dya had gone blind her antennae seemed to pick up things that even their Elder hadn't been able to. It was like they were making up for her lack of sight.

She watched Dya grab her bag, looking down at her own for a second. Hopefully they would find wonderful things! With Dya's hand in her own she made her way towards where she thought Niebet had said. "So how have things been lately? Made anything new that your exceptionally proud about?"

Dyakida trusted her sister to lead her true. She could feel Briella's excitement, and it boosted her mood, initially neutral, to something far more buoyant.
Briella had the potential to be a smart, enthusiastic warrior. After all they had been through, the girl was still smiling. Dyakida could tell, even if she couldn't see it. The tree suited her, suited them all better than the other one they had found.
"Hmm? Anything new? No, Brie... Nothing particularly interesting." she said, smiling, "I've mostly been... practicing."
It was kind of frustrating, actually. She kept trying to live up to that spear she had made, but it had been a fluke of intense concentration and perfect materials.
Then again, maybe her failures had been because she kept trying new tricks. She needed to master the basics completely and totally before she could start playing with new techniques.
But she wanted to explore what she could do. Like with the socketing.
"Oh, that isn't actually true. I did make some throwing daggers the other day."
They had seemed to be well balanced, to her feel. Of course, the only way to tell if they threw right was to... throw them. And she couldn't test that herself for fear of hitting someone or something. Her sisters hadn't been present at the time, so she had put them aside, and forgotten them until now. Perhaps she could get Brie to test them out when they got back?
"Other than a few practices and those daggers, and other than Niebet being... Niebet..." she said the last part in a lower tone of voice, which then lightened, "Things have been well! And you dear sister? How have you been?"

When Dyakida said she had been practicing Briella nodded. She had seen her sister once or twice with her weapons and not bothered her. It was an amazing skill she knew she would never have. It was like the weapons talked to Dya like no other. When she mentioned she made some throwing daggers Briella looked back in a surprised look. That was new. "That sounds interesting. I'm always up to trying out your weapons. You know if you need a testing dummy." she said with a smile.

When Dya mentioned Niebet she stuck out her tongue and made a noise. "Even though Elder has given me my weapons and I could move up in rank any day now she still treats me as if I'm a youngling! Sometimes I wish we hadn't brought her here..." she said slightly bitterly. She couldn't see any good that she was doing to their little family.

"Oh same ole same ole. I've been practicing a lot, and looking around the area. There are so many thing I'm still seeing for the first time!" she exclaimed happily. She was about to tell her sister about Biroki when she saw an entrance to what looked like some sort of cave. She hadn't realized they had walked so fast! "Dya I think we are here already!" she said excitedly.

"The elder gave you your weapons?!" exclaimed Dyakida in surprise as they reached the ruins, "May I..." she held out a hand, "Have a look?"
She doubted that Briella would have had a chance to use them.
"Don't say such things..." Even though Dyakida agreed that Niebet was a pain... "She's simply... traditional." Yes. That was the word. "And her patrols and hunting keep our tree safe and well stocked."
Dyakida liked to remind herself of this. Especially when she wanted to beat the sniveling tar out of her sister. Very unlike her. But that was Niebet- driving people up walls.
"She has always been like that. She'll only get worse when you surpass her." There was no uncertainty about whether Briella would surpass their sister. Brie was smart and far more balanced than their hotheaded sister. 'Traditional' did not always mean 'best'.
"So. What are Niebet's ruins like?" she asked, twitching an antennae.

Gosh she was being so forgetful lately! She forgot that Dya had been sleeping when she went to go tell her about it. "Oh Dya I waited forever! I didn't think it was fair that I didn't have one yet. I mean they are still training weapons, I'm no Blade yet, but it is a small step in the right direction." she handed Dya the weapons, careful to give her where she could hold them and not hurt herself. "I chose the dual blades. I've always felt closer to them."

She sighed. It was true. She didn't have to say those things, and she really shouldn't. If Niebet heard her it would be hell. "You right. I'm sorry. And yes I guess she is traditional. To much for my taste." she said shaking her head. Although Dya said that she kept them safe and well stocked she was pretty that with Maya's help Briella would be able to do those things all by herself. When Dya said she would get worse when she surpassed she Briella laughed. "I can't believe it can get worse." she said under her breath.

"Well they are in a cave I believe. I mean there are what seems to have been stones and maybe trees at once but everything is black like it was burnt. There is a little cave like entrance. Ready to go in?"
PostPosted: Tue Oct 30, 2012 3:53 pm

Dyakida hefted the swords carefully. Their balance was... decent. They were, after all, only training swords. A quick feel of the edge told her it would at least cut, though she had practiced (and been cut) enough to not be harmed by her inspection.
She nodded slowly, handing them back, part of her mind already thinking about a future project-double blades for Briella. Something a bit better than these training blades.
"Yes... You are not the sort to remain at a distance and wield a bow, nor are you the sort to keep an enemy at a distance with a spear..." murmured Dyakida, "Niebet, I would say, is much the same... But in her case, its recklessness. Whether she chooses Spear or Sword is a tough call, but she would never be able to tolerate standing still as a bowwoman..." Dyakida sighed. "She is often too traditional for our tastes, but she is our sister, and I like to think of her as a... reminder..." she smiled slightly, but pretended she hadn't heard the whisper. Niebet could get worse. Everything could get worse. She was not looking forward to the day when Niebet became a Blade. She would eventually. She was certainly skilled.
But a rise in rank would likely be a raise in torment...
"I'm ready to go in." Said Dyakida, "Let us forget about our sister for a while as we explore her ruins."
She twitched an antennae, but couldn't feel anything but the wind and Briella's excitement.
She took a firm hold of Briella's hand.
"Lets go in."

Briella nodded and took the blades back. Her sister was right. Although at one point she had considered the bow, she had a pretty good aim, it wasn't really the one for her. Thinking about what Niebet would pick she wondered. She had chosen the blades, and Maya the the bow and arrow. It would balance them out if Niebet picked the spear. Although she didn't want Niebet to balance them out. She wanted her to go away.

Briella nodded. Yes she was a reminder. A reminder of what Briella didn't ever want to become. For a second she wanted Niebet to pick the same weapon as she did, just so she could be better then her in every way. Maybe that would shut her up. But she must not think that way. She would excel in the blades for herself, Aisha, and no one else. Well maybe to help protect her closest sisters but that was all.

Briella laughed at the irony. Forget about Niebet while they looked through her ruins. Yes she could do that. Squeezing Dya's head she headed into the cave and kept her eyes peeled. It was dark, but her eyes we adjusting. "There are a some crystals here!" she exclaimed looking at the walls. Oh why didn't she bring something to help her see.

The darkness was not an issue for Dyakida. Darkness was all she could percieve with her eyes. she could feel the sense of enclosement, could hear the difference of sound quality of the cave.
"Are there?" she said, squeezing Briella's hand in return, "Are there any we could take with us?"
It didn't occur to her that the darkness would affect her sister, or that it was even there.
They continued on, and she brushed her fingers gently against the wall, feeling the rocky ridges and small crystals dotting it.
"Is it just a cave, Brie," she asked, her voice echoing, "Or are there actually ruins in here?"
She had some sense, from the way the echoes came back, that the corridor might continue up ahead.

Briella looked around with what little light there was. It might just be a cave, which was pretty disappointing. Placing her hand out she felt some of the walls. They didn't feel like rock, which a cave should have. And honestly they looked like they were placed there, under the crystals they seemed to be squares? She shrugged, this was a strange cave. She got out a knife and tried to dig out some of the crystals but they were on there good.

"I don't think we can get any of these crystals. And I'm not sure... This doesn't look like a normal cave." she continued walking, walking into what was once the home of a family before the earth had swallowed it whole. She looked around, confused. There were things that didn't fit in a cave. "These have to be ruins. The earth did not make this." she said looking for anything interesting.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 03, 2012 9:52 pm

"Thats a shame" Crystals were very handy. They changed the balance of a weapon and made it pretty. She couldn't appreciate their shine, but she could appreciate their feel. They improved that too.
Oh well. Perhaps there would be something further in she could take back with her.
"Make this?" Dyakida ran her hand against the wall, a bit more curiously this time. It felt like crystals but... ah. there was... a pattern? But crystals did have a pattern too, didn't they?
"Make what, Briella? What are you seeing?"
She walked past a broken pot, once the home of a small houseplant, no longer, and a broken and unrecognizable fragment of what had once been someone's plastic doll. The doll had long since turned brittle and fallen to pieces. Her antennae touched the hanging remains of what could have once been a light fixture, and it twitched away.
Dyakida frowned.
"Brie?"
the twitch of her antennae told her that there were walls, straight, flat walls. could the earth make flat walls? Like this?
It changed how their voices echoed. they sounded different in the rounded, empty cave than in this area. There must be... things here?
She didn't detect the door that led further into the ruins.
"Brie, whats in here?"

Briella nodded. "I will come back later and try to get some when I have a tool that is better suited to get them from the wall. I fear if I try now I will either ruin the crystals or my knife." she said laughing lightly.

She looked around, trying to find something to explain to Dyakida what she meant about being made. "The room is flat on all sides. I've never seen a cave that seemed to be so carved. And the material that the walls are... Well they aren't earth... They seem to be claimed by the earth, but they weren't always that way."

Briella was so confused. In the corner of the room there was a box that was kind of shiny, or at least it seemed that it was once shiny. It was a television on a stand, though she was unaware of it. Bring Dyakida to it she touched it herself before realizing it was safe and guiding her sisters hand towards it. "What is this? It's square, and I think the front was once shiny. looking around she didn't know what to tell her sister about first. "There is something coming from the roof, it is like hanging there, attached at the top..." she could see something that looked like the chairs she had seen, but longer. It was falling apart and didn't seem safe to sit on like a chair but it wasn't to far from where they were standing with the box.
