Roll an Eleven: Canyon Field: The canyon walls towers high towards the ceiling while the ground sinks downwards several levels, making the top and bottom of the field very difficult to see without special equipment. The cliff faces are very steep with little ridge support for grabbing and climbing; on top of that, the rock faces are very damp which makes grabbing and holding on very difficult. A few skinny trees and roots jut out from the cliff and allow smaller, nimbler pokemon to grab and swing around. At the very bottom of the canyon’s long drop is a deep pool of water. Keeping up is difficult for trainers on this particular battlefield, so stadium officials have set up a special view screen on each of the trainer platforms. A mini camera will follow your pokemon around while it battles (of course, it’s programmed to back off when a pokemon does an attack) and the view screen will enable trainers to issue commands to their companions via microphone. This field gives a 25 HP attack boost to FLYING and ROCK type attacks.

Lenore walked into the stadium, her sleeves bobbing at her side. Next to her, Mephistopheles floated down to the canyons below.

Heal stared at the field. "Holy Mother of Arceus..." He looked at Tripod's pokeball for a moment then back at the field, frowning. A three legged pokemon against this....

He swallowed thickly and called Tripod out, the feline appearing at the top of the Canyon.

Tripod's eyes widen and he pressed himself against the ground, whining.

Mephistopheles noted the pokemon's missing leg, but decided that if it was engaging in combat, it wasn't worth holding back over. The duskull bowed graciously. "Greetings. My name is Mephistopheles, and I shall be your opponent for this battle. Good luck."

Silently, he sent a shadow ball rocketing towards the Luxio.

Tripod's eyes widen and quickly rolled out of the Shadow Ball's way, front paw edging against the cliff and quickly getting up away from it. His furcoat stood on end as blue electricity started to spark up. He let out a roar as he released multiple bolts from his body at his opponent.

Mephistopheles skillfully dodged the electricity. He flew over the gap between them, sending another shadow ball at the luxio.

Tripod hissed as the ball graced by him, singeing his fur on one side. He backed away, keeping them both in the safe area he could manuver. Baring his fangs, they glowed blue, sparking with electricity. Crouching down he leaped up to snap his jaws on the ghost pokemon.

Mephistopheles was bitten on his arm, the electricity causing it go numb. Phasing out, he sent a smaller shadow ball at the luxio with his working arm.

Tripod growled, pain radiating on his side as he moved out of the full force of the attack. Electricity rose from his furcoat again and then discharged into multiple bolts towards the duskull.

Distracted by the numbness in his arm, Mephistopheles was hit by the full force of the attack. He shook the feeling back into his arm, sending another shadow ball at Tripod.

Tripod groaned under the pain, his furcoat rising up again to attack.

"No, Use bite!" Heal leaned forward on the trainer's box.

The feline felt off balance for a moment but crouched down and lounged at ghost pokemon with open jaws.

Tripod was blinded for a moment, blinking quickly as he moved with unease near the cliff edge, paws and claws scratching and gripping the rocks around it. Shaking himself for a moment, he turned and lunged at the ghost pokemon again with teeth bared for a bite.
