Hello fellow Christians. biggrin

I just wanted to warn others here about the occult. Occult practice is another way to open up yourselves to demonic possession, demon spirits attaching themselves to occult objects you bring home, and objects already dwelling in your abode/home. (Demons are attracted to occult objects/energy).

They are real, and unless you're saved, or know someone who can extract demons (pastor/priest), they'll be hard to remove. (Once you've invited them in).

List of occult practices:
When counseling people for deliverance, it is important that all occultic involvement is exposed, including that of ancestors, where possible, as it opens the door for curses. Here is a list of things to check for - which can be handed to the person seeking deliverance.

What the Bible says about occult:

“When you come into the land which the LORD your God is giving you, you shall not learn to follow the abominations of those nations. There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire [an ancient occult practice], or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination [detestable] to the LORD…” (Deuteronomy 18:9-12a)

Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God. (Leviticus 19:31)

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21)

As Christians we cannot be possesed because we are filled with the Holy Spirit. If we are filled with something then how is there room for something else? “Now when the unclean spirit goes out of a man, it passes through waterless places seeking rest, and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came’; and when it comes, it finds it unoccupied, swept, and put in order. Then it goes and takes along with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first. That is the way it will also be with this evil generation.” Matthew 12:43-45. As you can see it's able to get back in because the body is unoccupied by the Holy Spirit.

Also a lot of the things listed are completely off and some offensive to be labeled occult. According to your list by read the part in Revelation that talks about the mark of the beast would make me possesed. Numbers cannot make a person possesed and the numbers 666 is symbolic. As Christians we believe in rebirth. When we are saved we are spiritually reborn and after the judgement we are given a new body which could be considered as a physical rebirth. There are several more I could go over but I don't want to put an extremely long post which can be annoying.

3nodding It's true that God/Jesus has given us Christians the authority to cast out demons, and the Holy Spirit lives within us. But I don't think you can be practicing paganism and witchcraft, and do the same. I would think one has to be born again to be able to cast out demons. (And being born again doesn't necessarily mean baptism in water). Your body is a temple, you were bought with a price. Why would someone, who is a christian, want to defile themselves with the occult. If you're not keeping that temple clean, what happens to it?

He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. Matthew 10:1

Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

What if you're a "Christian" in name only (can that be enough to become possessed?), and live by the flesh. Or for example: a "Pagan Christian", "Christian Witch","Buddhist Christian", "Lukewarm Christian". Meaning you say you're a christian and practice other "religions", worship idols (which God specifically said not to do), and dabble in the occult. I've heard of Christians and Catholics who have been demon possessed. Anneliese Michel is a famous one.

Not regular cards, Tarot Cards dear. Why would role playing be occultic? (It's just like acting).

The Bible doesn't really say anything bad about medicine.
Timothy 5:23 -(No longer drink only water, but use a little wine for the sake of your stomach and your frequent ailments.)

I don't think it mentions medicine. Some TV programs like "Secret Circle", Jersey shore, and porn, you should probably stay away from.


Back in the 70-80's it was considered an occultism activity, and still is among older members of my church. Greatly so, with the arrival of games like Dungeons and Dragons, or the like.... along with video games.

Ether way, I am still reminded of the one unforgivable sin... and none of these match it.

Dungeons and Dragons was known for promotion of such practices as; Satanism, witchcraft, suicide, satanic ritual abuse, pornography and animal sacrifices. So why wouldn't it be unrecommended for Christians? Not all role-playing games or video games are like that. If you want a guide for what is ok to watch just read the Bible, or remember Philippians 4:8. "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things."

Acupuncture is a medical procedure, I know because I used to get it done regularly because it would help my nerve damage.

Simply knowing that YHWH doesn't like the occult was enough to make me give it up. Grudgingly at first, I wouldn't do anything without consulting the pendulum (because it was always right); I justified my use of the pendulum by comparing it to the Urim and Thummim, or casting lots. I grew up in an environment where my family did tea-leaf readings, sought psychics, tried to predict events, held countless superstitions, lived their lives by the planets/astrology/birth charts, it's no wonder I ended up trying to contact spiritual entities (which was so naive on my part because clearly they're not all good) and that led to new age practices (like trying to have OBE's or attune my chakras). sweatdrop

Who knows how many ways we give consent for these creatures to be in our lives. I don't think it's just a verbal, "hey, come in; talk to me". Just having their image present is enough; I think when you have their image or their symbol in your home, you might as well be communicating, "I'm open to receive your contact". This is what it is really: slamming every possible door in these mischievous spirits' faces so they can't get a foothold over you, so that they can't enter your mind and fill you with misinformation; at the same time, making sure you're only relying on/waiting for our Creator's revelation which does come and never makes you act against his word.

It took a while but eventually I learned that we shouldn't try to contact the divine in forbidden ways. If we trust that our Heavenly Father is competent, like he claims he is, then he has revealed enough information through his word to sustain us. When he says that he'll give us prophetic visions and dreams, great. But don't seek it out, wait for him to give you the revelation. The only seeking we do is in the form of prayer and diligent study of the scriptures. His word is what we should live by.

Yoga is just an exercise. How is stretching and bending to tone your body any type of worship? That's like saying a Satanist inventing Ping Pong makes Ping Pong a demonic practice or something.

I think it's important to say that she DID write "Possible Demonic Entry Points," which comes across as certain points that have the potential to be demonic, but might not be depending? Am I getting that right? I hope so, because I disagree with some of this list, but a lot of I do agree with. I'll just go over the things I don't agree with.

[ ] Acupuncture

I cannot agree that acupuncture is demonic. It's actually a very effective therapy for lots of people that has nothing to do with spirituality. Maybe for some it does, but I've not met many people who think that way.

[ ] Amulets (tigers claw, sharks tooth, horseshoe over door, mascots, talisman (magic picture)

Not everyone wears teeth and claws for spiritual purposes. I know that it tends to be more of a fashion statement for some; I saw a lot of shark teeth necklaces growing up on the Californian coast. It was just a trend of the people there, nothing else.

Just like how crucifixes and crosses are a fashion trend nowadays. *shakes head*

[ ] Automatic writing

I suppose people who text in their sleep are potentially opening demonic gates. (joke)

I actually DO agree that the traditional understanding of automatic writing is dangerous, and somewhat attention seeking.

[ ] Chain letters

I suppose depending on the intention within the chain letter, it can be bad. But, when I was making chain letters in grade school, it was just a means of having fun with my friends, a form of communication. We never made it more than that. So I somewhat disagree with this.

[ ] Charms and charming for wart removal

I... don't even know. But all right. emotion_awesome

[ ] Colour therapy

I have to completely disagree with this one. Color therapy is really therapy for a lot of people. In fact, it's scientifically proven that colors affect our moods. Companies will paint their buildings certain colors in order to affect their customers' moods. They do the same in many hospitals in order to promote a calmer, more relaxing atmosphere for patients. I'm sure there are plenty of other examples out there.

Now, I can see where yoga comes into the picture, but I can see where it can also be left out.

Over here in the Western world, yoga doesn't usually have the same impact on people as it does in the East. In the East, it's connected to Hinduism, where as with most Western people, it's just another exercise routine and has nothing to do with gods or spirituality.

So... I agree and disagree.

Hmm... not all Goth music is demonic, though.

I was going to say: handwriting analysis is a legitimate science when it comes to, for example, criminal profiling. You can do it with anyone, though, if you have the experience.

But for fortune telling... well, that's different because it involves the spiritual plane.

I find the Star of David to be a beautiful symbol. But I know hexagrams have been used for other purposes.

Yoga is just an exercise. How is stretching and bending to tone your body any type of worship? That's like saying a Satanist inventing Ping Pong makes Ping Pong a demonic practice or something.

There is nothing wrong with stretching or exercise. Try pilates, fitness, general stretching exercises, or another alternative, if you like Yoga. There is more to yoga than just stretching. It's focused on the inner self awakening, vibrations, chakra, channeling, and opening up one's third eye. It is a form of Hinduism and Buddhism. The positions that are used in Yoga are used as offerings to the 330 million Hindu gods. (Yoga postures really are offerings to the "gods".) If you do these postures, and you do this breathing technique and this meditation then it was understood that you are accepted by a Hindu god.” It's part of the new age movement. You should google the origins of Yoga, and the New Age Movement.

If you didn't know already, the God(YHWH/Jesus) you serve, does not like it. The Bible talks about Hebrews in the old testament offering themselves up to other gods/idols, and God (YHWH) was pretty Beep off. (Read the Bible) And keep your eyes open.

I cannot agree that acupuncture is demonic. It's actually a very effective therapy for lots of people that has nothing to do with spirituality. Maybe for some it does, but I've not met many people who think that way.


It originates from Taoism. It was used to channel energy. But I guess if one is using it for therapeutic uses it's not that harmful.

Not everyone wears teeth and claws for spiritual purposes. I know that it tends to be more of a fashion statement for some; I saw a lot of shark teeth necklaces growing up on the Californian coast. It was just a trend of the people there, nothing else.

I actually DO agree that the traditional understanding of automatic writing is dangerous, and somewhat attention seeking.


Automatic writing is used in seances, not text messaging. lol It's kind of like using a Ouija board. In seances people used to invoke demons/spirits to channel messages to a person while they were not consciously aware to get messages. They thought they could contact the dead.

I can agree that this one seems harmless. I don't think chain letters were of the same use before modern technology.

But that would be infringing on people's freedom of religion, which I think is not only valid through our constitution, but also through our humanity. We all have a right to believe what we want; God gave us that right, so who are we to take it away?


I guess what the author meant is that if you are a Christian, or a new believer in Christ, and own these books; you should burn them. Our God gave us the right to worship, accept, and believe in many religions(gods) at one time??? Umm..Which God? (God did give us freewill, but not to use it like that). I thought we Christians were only supposed to believe there was one God. You haven't read the Bible have you? You don't seem know who your God is, and what He stands for. The biggest lie Satan ever told is that there is more than one way to God. You have a dusty bible at home, go take it off the shelf and read it.
