She felt tired, which was allowed considering the prey she had brought home to share with her mother and siblings. The beast had hardly been larger than a snack for each of them, but the chase itself had sapped a surprising amount of strength from her muscles and bones. The sun had borne down on her from the clear blue skies for most of her hunt, which in hindsight now seemed like a suitable excuse to keep from exerting unnecessary energy, but the exertion – at the time – had seemed a capital idea. With the meal consumed and the bones licked clean, however, Leilusae now found herself with a comfortably full belly and a sun still too stubborn to haul off.
It may have been difficult in different parts of the Pridelands to find suitable shade for relaxing out of the worst heat of the day, but the lioness had grown up within and just outside of the pride's borders so she knew the layout well enough to seek out the most likely locations. Upon finding a wide swath of shadows beneath a bulbous, circular thorny acacia, she padded her way forwards until her paws detected a noticeable change in temperature in the soil beneath her feet. Content her belly would be cool there, she flopped rather unceremoniously onto her stomach in a graceless maneuver she might have cleaned up had she known she were not alone.

He hadn't hunted yet. His hunt wasn't until tomorrow, so Husani had taken it upon himself to do absolutely nothing. His mother and what siblings were here, each had their own den, their own time to hunt. Honestly the pale eyed male had been less than excited when his mother kicked him out of her den. He'd wanted to stay with her as long as possible, maybe until he'd found himself a nice girl and thought about settling down with her, but no. Mother had other plans and that was utter silence. Yes, Husani could be a loud spectacle singing and dancing, joking around. He was hardly serious when he was with his family. Instead, the pink male wanted to make his family laugh and smile, and just have fun. Like most family clowns did.
But he was harmless! He wasn't too happy with his mother right now. No matter how many days it had been, he was sore about it. Huffing, the pink lion moved through the pride with a squint, the sun was high in the sky, it was hot, and he hated thinking about the day his mom just didn't let him back in the den, even swatting claws at him to chase him off. It made him miserable. Peering up at the sky that seemed to have no clouds, he squinted harder and looked about for a place to rest. He knew of one place with some grass that would be cooler then where he was now. So his paws carried him there. The trip was quick and eventless and just as he stepped into the grass he blinked, seeing a pale lioness there and he let out a cub like whine at that. "Man...."

She had likelier than not not been chased from home yet due to her parents more coddling nature. It was not that Leilusae could not defend herself, or even take care of herself – her parents, particularly her father, had been more than adequate in training her to hunt and otherwise be an upstanding member of the pride. Their den was not large enough for her entire family to reside in anyway, so she often found herself residing in her own rudimentary and temporary sleeping quarters some eighth of a mile away from the main den site. She missed the warm, cuddling socialization she had been reared with, but she was also eager to start her own family whenever the opportunity presented itself at last. She had grand dreams of having a mate that she might share the same loving relationship with that she witnessed with her parents, but until that point, her family was all she had.
Absorbing the cool air beneath the tree, she did not acknowledge the presence of another lion for a few moments: though whether she had even heard him approach or not was up for serious debate. Instead, she remained silent with her eyes partly closed in relaxation until his cubbish whine broke through the relative quiet of the living plain. Her ears swiveled first forward and then back as her eyes cracked open and she raised a brow as her gaze found the bright pelt of the newcomer. At a loss for a response to the whine, she simply repeated, "Man?"
