Now on Steam: Skyrim 1.8 Beta Update

You can click the link and read the patch notes yourself, nothing too grand just a few bug fixes. Sorry it doesn't look, at least from the notes, that quest bugs will be fixed this time around.

But that's not why I wanted to draw your attention, it looks like someone has found code in the new update that points toward some new DLC (called Dragonborn) coming down the pipe line. (Don't click the link if you wish to remain in the dark)

!~UPDATE PART~!

NEW IMAGE POSSABLEY DLC REALTED???

If you do not wish to know more, leave now. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

---------------------------------------------------

Next DLC will be called Dragonborn. It is set in Solstheim. Main locations are Raven Rock, Miraak Temple, Castle Karstaag and Telvanni Tower. You will might be able to ride dragons. Also, new armor types, possibly horse (?) Bomemold, Chitin, Nordic and Stalhrim.

PS3 DLC will come soon and so will mounted spell casting.

This could, of cause, be an elaborate troll on Bethesda's part!

There are other things like new creatures and dwemer objects, but they're not that interesting.

If you take a trip over to the US Patent and Tradmark Office's website it will show that ZeniMax Media Inc. acquired the rights to the name on Sept 25th, 2012. Granted it could just be ZeniMax buying up all names related to the TES in an attempt to keep others from acquiring them, but if that was the case, one would think they would have acquired that name during the development cycle for Skyrim.

If the find is true, my big question is whether this will be more like KOTN or SI in size. We have already had our KOTN sized DLC via Dawngaurd. What we have yet to get is a massive DLC addition to the game like SI.

Given that this DLC is "stated" to take place in Solstheim, this might be content wise on the same size as The Shivering Isles. Some would say the Soul Cain from DG was a whole new area, but the SC was actually a very small area in retrospect.

I can't help but compare this to the Bloodmoon expansion from Morrowind. I doubt this time we will be allowed to travel under our own power from the main land to the island like we could in MW. I remember water walking from Khuul to the Imperial Fort on the coast.

This DLC screams Dunmer, thus making me a VERY HAPPY MAN. If it's really taking place in Solstheim, then I'll be able to see my brothers and sisters in our new home. As soon as I saw the word Telvanni Tower my face light up and a big old grin formed on my face.

What's really got me excited is mounted magic combat...
I lost my horse once, because I had to get off it to fight some wolves, and it just.... floated past me and up into a tree....
But anyway, having to jump off and back onto my horse is a pain, and I ride my horse everywhere because I'm doing a play through with no fast traveling.

I guess until I know what kind of storyline we're going to presented with (if this is all real, that is), I can't get all excited about revisiting Solstheim because I'm kinda like "Where are they going to go with this?"
...I guess plot is a big deal to me.

I know what you mean, magic always seems to get left behind in Skyrim. Since i play as a mage I can justify using fast travel as magical transport. (man i still miss mark and recall). The only time that I used a mount was to uncover all the spots on the map, and some of those harder to reach places I used a horse to get to, cuz for some odd reason physics means nothing to horses. They will climb a nearly vertical mountain face. XD

I've read somethings that hint at the Dargonborn Prophecy wasn't actually completely fulfilled after "defeating" Aludin. That a few of the last lines hints at some other things the DB will have to do.

This line of the prophecy: "The World-Eater wakes, and the Wheel turns upon the Last Dragonborn."

The line mentions Aludins "return" which happens, but what exactly is this Wheel that will turn upon the Last Dragonborn.

The line has me thinking that some force other than Aludin will be a challenge for the DB. The Wheel has me thinking The Imperial City. It have been described as a wheel with each section of the city a spoke. We can maybe see a uprising of what's left of the Empire against him, or maybe the Thalmor sensing that the DB is an actual treat to them and thus use's their power over the Empire to force their hand into removing the DB.

An unfinished model of White Gold Tower is in Skyrim, one has to have a PC and turn off clipping to move passed the invisible walls that keep a player inside Skyrim to see it. Maybe that could mean we'd make a trip back to the IC at some point?

The option to visit my peoples new home, really excited me....come on how can I not get excited over the fact that Telvanni Tower's were mentioned?

Hopefully Beth will shine some light onto this find in the new future.

Hey guy and gals, look like Beth is teasing again with a new image and with the line "watch trailer on Monday" up on their Facebook page

The new armor looks like an upgraded version of the Cephalopod helm of House Telvani and the pauldrons look like the dragon motif that the Dragon Priests wore with their robes which could mean a revival of the Dragon Cult in Solstheim. Thus the name of the rumored DLC being Dragonborn.
