It had been a long time since Celsus had been back on duty - long enough that he had almost forgotten what it was like to be a knight again. Several months had passed - several long, exhausting months filled with a certain amount of stress and confusion and lots of endless nights of waiting up, but now Tolliver was getting better and Celsus could resume his duties.
The town was quiet - quiet enough that his footsteps echoed oddly loud in the brisk night air.
Celsus wondered vaguely if this was perhaps a good idea. He felt uncertain and not nearly as good as he had felt before about being a knight. His time off had been spent worrying, rather than relaxing, and he could not get back into the groove of it yet.
He hoped he would.

Pippin wished he had a break. Being an guardian was a never ending job. Even if he said he was on a break he really wasn't because if any unawaken senshi was around then he had to tend to that. Or if knight needed someone to talk to and he was around then it was his duty to stay positive and give them all the information they needed. It was a big job and really all he ask for was really just one day for fun.
He walked around bouncing from leg to leg as if it was a game. He smiled as he caught sense of aura! Great! Another person. Even if he did want to take a break from his job, he loved meeting people. He walked towards the direction of the aura and smiled and walked up beside of the knight. "Hi! Pippin down here to say hello!" he said in a chipper voice

The voice came from somewhere down at his side, and Celsus stopped walking, peering down curiously. He half expected to see H ebe, or perhaps even Zirconia (though he hadn't seen her in ages) - but the cat was neither of the two, a little spotty calico thing that he vaguely recognized.
"Good evening," said Celsus, and smiled brightly. He crouched down beside the cat, reached out, and scratched it's head.
"Your name is Pippin, is it? Well, Pippin," said Celsus. "I am Celsus, a Squire of Chronos, and it is a pleasure to meet you. What, may I ask, brings a guardian out here this lovely evening?"

He was polite! So polite! finally he had meet someone that was polite! This was a joy! He like polite people because this kitten was all about being polite to everyone else. He smiled brightly at the young male and gave him a soft purr as he scratched his head. It felt so good.
"Celsus! What a wonderful name. I enjoy it greatly." he paused to tap his chin and the began once again, "I was just strolling around looking for something to do! was telling myself that I needed a break but in job I can never take a break. And what are you doing?" he said witha small laugh.

Celsus squatted down beside the little cat, reaching out to scratch between its ears.
"Thank you, I enjoy it as well," he said cheerfully, and smiled. "And I am on patrol, for the first time in a long time. I took a bit of a hiatus, what have you, with certain life issues, but now I am back in the game."

He enjoyed every time someone did that. He loved when people scratch between his ears, as it felt like heaven. He let out a small purr and happily looked up to him.
He nodded as the male talked ans smiled. "Oh that's good news! I'm glad you're back in the game! It's good to see new faces that had took a small break. Are you enjoying your time back? If you like I could patrol with you? I quite enjoy it!" he said with a small giggle.

Celsus smiled a little, then patted the cat's head.
"I would be delighted to be assisted by you," he said, and then straightened, indicating with a nod to the side for Pippin to follow him as he began walking again. "And I suppose I like it, though it takes a bit of getting used to. I've been away for so long that I've almost forgotten what it's like to be a knight."bunnyilove WOW LOOK AT THIS RLY LATE TAG

Pippin really enjoyed when people petted his head and when the squire did this he lightly nuzzle against the male's hand, purring lightly.
"Really?" the cat said looking up to him with big sparkly eyes. He was overjoyed. He hadn't spend too much time with squires, pages, or knights or any sort for too long so this was a big deal that Celsus said he would do it! As the squire nodded to the side the cat instinctively moved along the side of him, making sure that he kept up with his movement. It was hard sometime to keep up with human with such small legs but the cat was getting better at it everyday.
"Ahh I see. I'm sure it will come to you in a matter of days. No one can forget what they truly are, that's why we cat's we awake senshi because we never forget and in our tiny little body we can tell when someone is ready to remember their past and new life!" the calico chip out happily. "But it might be different with knights, but who knows!" he paused to shrug, "But I'm sure it's almost the same thing or if not very close."

The evening was quiet so far - no sign of a youma or a Nega or even one of the Dark Mirrors that he kept having a tendency of running into. Celsus wasn't sure if that was a good or a bad thing, but gave a small, rueful sigh, linking his fingers together behind his head.
"Hopefully," he said. "Good thing though is that I don't really have a past life, I suppose? I have a past ancestor, and he's an interesting fellow. I've been to my Wonder and everything, I've just got to get back on the right path."
He gave Pippin a wink. "Suppose you'll be helping me with that?"

Pippin looked up to him. Past life...Yes he had heard of this. Everyone had a past life. But he himself was not a expert in this but he could help in any way if he could so.
"Hmm! Perhaps! I'm no experts in it but I'm willing to give a try! I'm sure something has to jog your memory! Everyone has a past life, they just got to figure out what it is!" he said with a slight giggle and winking back at Celsus.

"Good," said Celsus, in a very matter-of-fact tone of voice. "I'm glad to have such a charming cat on my side. I do love the guardian cats, I've decided. H ebe is a dollface, and Zirconia takes a bit of getting used to, but she's actually quite nice, and I did make her smile."
"So now," he said cheerfully, patting Pippin's head. "You and I can be friends."

He beamed up at the squire as he called him charming. He was that indeed or rather he like to think so. If he knew that Zirconia was the name of the lady-cat he would have made a face. She was not nice at all, she was rather rude and he did not enjoy her company at all. And he would have been surprise that he was able to make her smile because she seemed rather grumpy about her life.
"REALLY?" he shouted! "That sounds great! Oh now we can go shopping and do tons of cool boyish things!" he said smiling.
In fact, Pippin didn't do too many boyish thing so it might be good way to do some. He was more of girl cat if anything.

"Yes," said Celsus, putting his hands on his hips and adopting a very serious face. "Yes, we are friends now, so we can go and do friendly things that are also boyish."
A long pause.
"Of course, I'm not sure what those things are, but we'll figure it out!"

"Yessss" the cat purred out happily. He wagged his tail happily. He didn't mean too but it tend to do that on it's own, when he was excited. Maybe he was part dog. He wasn't sure but he didn't care because he was going to boyish thing...finally!
And then the pause and utter defeat. The little cats mouth dropped and he gave out a little laugh. Well it seem that someone else was just as girly as he was. Which was perfectly fine but he did really wish that he had meet a rough and tumble kind of guy. "Sure! I mean I don't know what boyish things are but I'm sure we can find out together!" he said with a bright smile.

Celsus squatted down in front of Pippin, tapping his chin thoughtfully. "Well," he said decisively. "It's not like we have to figure it out right this second. We're already friends now, we can take time to think about things."
He grinned, reaching out to scratch the cat behind his ears. "Plus I have to go and do a few knight-ish things. In the meantime, we can both figure out things that we want to do, and when we meet up again, we'll have a plan."
