Staring at the changing leaves and the browning grass Evangeline stood there in the middle of the meadow. She was completely out of her element colorwise,the snow would have been better. Snorting she turned to wander off into the forest.
Zachariah gave a snort as he walked half-heartedly through the forest. "I'm beginning to hate training..." He muttered low under his breath before spotting the white mare. He felt somewhat thrown off because he didn't know whether she was injured or not. "Hey you!" He snorted and wandered after her.
Eva was just wandering off when she heard this strange angry voice behind her.She turned around quickly and noticed the stallion. "...."Pinning her ears she stood her ground. Waiting,waiting to see what he would do.He just seemed to angry.
Zachariah watched her for a moment before flicking his tail up into the air. "Umm..." He eyed her markings and sighed knowing now that they were not injuries. "Sorry...I thought you were injured. I guess from far away they look like wounds instead of markings." He shrugged not really paying much attention to her after that. "Your very quiet..and kind of distant. You remind me of my cousin already." He nodded to her
Eva raised her brow at the stallion.Jumpy he was."You're fine."She said softly and looked down at her markings.She agreed that probably from far away they looked like she was injured,but running like a mad man towards her like that thinking she was made her feel quite awkward. "I try not to yell." That's all she said.
Zachariah shifted a little bit at the awkwardness. This was how he felt when he was talking to his cousin also. She would barely say a word to him let alone acknowledge he was there. She was usually like that in her own little world. This mare was different, but not far different from Astraea. "I see...well I guess you have your own things to do as do I." He shrugged nonchalantly as he turned away from her. "Unless you need help finding something? Are you lost? Maybe I should have asked that first..." He rolled his eyes.
The mare nodded slightly as she watched the stallion turn away from her.He was the first she had seen on the lands since she appeared. Then the stallion started babbling on about helping her and making everything seem weird.Eva didn't put a smile on her face but she looked up to his eyes to talk."I am new." Her red eyes traced over his mane down to his markings. "You can show me if you would like to,if you'd rather wander off to do your own thing."
Zachariah shrugged his shoulders at the newbie. It was rather amusing to meet someone who was new to the lands because the thought of taking her to a dangerous place then dumping her there crossed his mind several times. "Hmmm depends really. I usually have training soon, but I'm sure I can skip it as long as you promise not to rat on me if my dad manages to find us." He said glaring at her a bit before shrugging it off once more. "Let's get going.." He mumbled and began wandering away from her.
Eva stood there listening to him ramble on about whatever."..." She thought about how to answer him,promise or not promise? Eva pinned her ears slightly at the glaring."Have my word." She said softly and followed after him slowly.Eva wondered why his mood changed so randomly,one minute he'd be worried then the next he seemed like he was yelling at you. "Can you tell me anything?"
Zachariah continued walking and shrugged his shoulders a bit more. "Tell you what? I mean you need to watch yourself around here because there are dangers about." He said to her. He wasn't really afraid of anything since he went through enough training to take care of himself. "If anything happens...I guess I could protect you. I trained enough." He snorted before stopping and looking back to her. "One sec..." He nodded to her as he leaned down putting something on his head. It was a skull mask. One fitted for his head and one that clearly looked like a wolf's skull. "Alright ready." He snorted to her through the skull as they continued on.
"Its much obliged."She said softly as she thought about it."Tell me things about what you know of this land." Evangeline watched the stallioned closely as she follow closely behind. Her ears raised up a bit at the sight of the skull. Flicking her tail slightly Eva felt safe and comfortable."Skull,does it mean anything?"She gave a slight nod as she followed close by his side as they walked.Eva looked around with her blood red eyes,no one appeared to be anywhere near by.
Zachariah looked to her quickly then looked ahead again. "Hmmm well there isn't much excitement around here really. It's more about keeping yourself alive and trying to make the best with what you got. Rather boring and bland life unless you spice it up, which I'm sure you can do. I can't though." He shrugged before looking back to her once again. "It means something to my family. Whoever gets one is strong in some way. most of the time only one child receives it per batch, but it depends." He nodded flicking his tail a bit.
Eva nodded slowly and stayed quiet listening to him.Staying alive?Should she be afraid of that or just take it like she did her last tragic incident. "Staying alive?"She questioned as they walked together."I don't seem to understand what you're saying."Eva's mane fell over her eyes as she thought about what happened in the past. Something changed in her mate,and he just randomly started going crazy with murdering poor innocent ones. Eva tried to shake it off. "Seems like a good thing.."Trying to hold back her sadness with the silence of her being one tear seemed to escape from her eyes.
