~Chapter 1~

Anica: *The sun shined in her cave, that cave, it reminded her of him, the thing she could no longer bare to think of the thought. She slipped out of the cave and smoothed her long black hair. This was the first night of many where she cried herself to sleep*

Lupus: *Dragging himself into some darker shade underneath a bush, he closed his eyes and tried to get his barring’s. He could remember parts of last night. The moon shone, a tiny sliver overhead, surrounded by thousands of stars. He had gone to the store and bought something…a clear liquid that burned his throat.* Alcohol… *His head throbbed. He moaned and rubbed his temples trying to make it go away* Alcohol equals headache. I’ll have to remember that.

Anica: *She looked around, the morning dew was still fresh on the plants as the sun peeked its bright lights over the forest.. The sun reminded her of him, that no good for nothing ex. She was pissed to the extreme and pawed the dirt. How dare he leave her at the wedding, just walk out like nothing!* Great, sooo lovely....not >.> *Her blood boiled with hatred.*

Lupus: Yuck. *His mouth tasted terrible. The absence of the alcohol left his mouth dry and aching.* Okay, I’m going to get up, find some water, and somehow get back home, one step at a time. *He gritted his teeth against the pain and started to get up. Immediately, things started going wrong. His hair became tangled on one of the branches and, when he tried to free himself, he realized the bush was covered in thorns. They all seemed to be grabbing at him. Pulling on his fur, sending sharp pricks of pain all over his body* Let me go! *Despite his shouting, the thorn bush refused and poked at his tail* Oh, come on! Ow! *His own shouting was starting to make his headache worse. He quickly bit his tongue and tried to calm down and think of a way out.*

Anica: *Her body trembled with anger. She known him since a kit and for him to leave her was unspeakable. She was going to get even with him, but how. She walked from the cave, that she once knew as home. She needed a new home, something different than her forever loved home, the forest. She knew it well, but the cave, that cave smelled and reminded her of....* Hmpft *She shook her head to get the image of of her head, but the memory still lingered. As she was walking she noticed the many herbs along the way, the herb of confusion, the love her, the wolf herb, ginger, and many more. She wondered if a potion of revenge was worth making. Her heart sank, she couldnt hurt him, but the way he hurt her would be worth it. She stopped in her tracks she hear something, something crying. She ran towards the sound. Who was in this forest so early in the moring? She slid into the tree as a stopping post. It was another fox. He was stuck in the pricky bush. She knew this bush, it liked to capture you, it caught her hair once, but she knew how to tame it. She stood behind the tree and yelled* If you stop wiggling so fast it should let you go. *She watched him careful. She knew she was going have to help him out anyways.*

Lupus: *He struggled harder as the thorns began to draw blood* Who’s there?! *He tried to look around, but his tangled hair prevented him from moving* You speak as if it knows what it’s doing. *He attempted to slow his movements, but a harsh tug at his spine sent him into a panic.* I’m not wiggling! I’m trying desperately to escape! *He paused for a moment.* Did you do this? Is this some kind of trap? *His hung over mind didn’t allow him to think straight* What are you going to do with me? What are you doing out here? *He dragged his paw out of one of the thorns only to get it tangled in another.* Ahhh!

Anica: *She blinked at him. Was he really trying to say it was her fault he was stuck in the bush.* The question is who are you!? *She looked at him still squirmming like a worm. She shook her head side to side. She leaped out in front of him. She stared at him.* First of all i said stop moving. Second, I did not set a trap and that bush is called a Snagger. It will snag you up and hold you til it gets enough of you. And another question is why are you doing in this dangerous woods, do you KNOW who lives out here! *She was serious, her father, the other man she hated lived out here.*

Lupus: *The pain and exhaustion drained him of energy and slowly he stopped struggling.* I am Lupus. *He growled.* What I’m doing in this forest is none of your business. *When he realized that the voice had been a girl’s, the thought of telling her he merely happened upon this place while in a drunken stupor was out of the question.* You’re this first fox I’ve seen in this area. *After snapping and blaming her for the plants attack, being nice didn’t seem right.* So, are you going to let me die here? Or are you going to help me?

Anica: *she glanced at him.* I kinda need to know what YOU are doing in this forest because, you are putting yourself and myself in danger, but then again, its mostly you putting yourself in danger. And second of all i would help you, Lupus, if you stop moving. *She blinks at him a fox? Really she wasnt a fox* Oh one more thing i am NOT a fox! I am part werewolf. *She glare at him and looks over to the side into the forest.*

Lupus: *He rolls his eyes. Drama queen much?* Honestly, I probably maybe just happen to come upon this delightful fairy tale of a place while exploring through a haze of things, probably not kind of emotions, and drifted off in the dark of a starlit night only to wake up and find myself entrapped in this ‘Snagger,’ as you call it, light headed and a little out of my normal area. *There. She wouldn’t understand what he was getting at. He could barely understand what he just said. He cocks his head, causing more pain.* A werewolf? *He thinks of the books he’d read with werewolves.* I’d appreciate it if you would help me out and not bite me. I do enjoy full moons, and transforming into a rage beast is not in my best interests.

Anica: Snagger, is indeed it was it is called. I should know i know everything in these woods. And yes werewolf. And no thanks i dont bite others. *She rolls her eyes and thinks 'again im saying a damsel in distress.' She grabs the tools from the belt under her dress and snips him out. The plant shireks in pain and instantly releases him. She puts the tools away and looks at him*

Lupus: *He stumbles from the plant's retreating grip.* Ah, that’s much better. *He quickly sits before he falls on his face and attempts to regain his barings. Trying to retain some dignity, he bows his head politely.* Thank you... 'Miss.' I am grateful for your assistance in freeing me from that…Snagger. *He takes a deep breath to try and clear his head and eyesight.* If I might trouble you for one more thing… *He glances around hoping to see a way out before further embarrassing himself, but sees no other option.* Could you please point me back to civilization? Like I said, I’m not quite myself this morning.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 11, 2012 9:10 pm

Anica: *She glances at him and rolls her eyes* Yeah i can tell you need to be social more than alone and quite contant with the woods. Civilization is threw these trees, past the mossy rot log and threw the snickering meadow. *She says pointing her paw to the left* Plus these woods are just way to scary for you, not like anyone can handle it.

Lupus: *He turns to leave then spins back at her accusations* What do you mean…social? What makes you think I’m social? How do you know I don’t just want to go back home and wrap up all these wounds your dumb plant gave me? *He huffs and starts pacing* And nothing is ‘way too scary’ for me. I am the Prince of Shadows! The only think that…bothers me is the sun, and even that can’t stop me!

Anica: *Her eyes blazed at him* Prince of Shadows? Really? That is funny! You apprently dont know your way around woods! You got stuck in the Snagger bush, puh - leas you wouldnt last a day out here. *She steps closer and flings her black hair back behind her* That is not my plant, that plant has no owner it does at it pleases, thank you very much!

Lupus: *He bared his teeth* Tease all you want, but as soon as night falls, I shall be the one laughing. *He rolled his eyes and glared at her* If you could remember correctly, I said Prince of Shadows. Not Prince of Navigating Through Forests That Had Bushes That Like Tearing You Apart. *He sighs* Fine, it’s not your plant. I still do not like it. *He gives a dirty look to the plant as if it can hear him.*

Anica: *blinks at him* Laughing once night falls, yeah im sure you could find your way in here, ther are beasts here, you dont know what lives in this damn forest. I know this area like the back of my paw. More than you, i can be assure of that. *She eyes him up very well* Yeah well that plant can be used for something i see. *Her eyes narrowed towards him a bit.*

Lupus: If you are so knowledgeable about these parts, maybe you could tell me a bit about these ‘beasts.’ *He flicks the hair from his eyes and watches her carefully* And what do you mean by that? *He digs his claws into the ground, was she making fun of him again?*

Anica: *looked up at him.* The beasts are really not important to an "outsider." And no it was just stating the obivious. *she looks at him*

Lupus: *He bit his lip to keep from exploding. He considered leaving down the path she pointed him to, but his fur was quickly becoming matted with blood and he wasn’t sure he could make it all the way back.* The sun could not set fast enough. *He muttered to himself before turning back to her* Maybe you could put aside your petty dislike of ‘outsiders’ and be helpful. I’d rather not bleed to death here. *For some reason this girl was better at irritating him more than anyone. He wished he didn’t have to ask for more help from her.*

Anica: *narrows him down and then looks at his cuts and bleeding. Her eyes soften and she looks at him.* Fine follow me. Try not to get caught in plants and stay away from the yellow ones. *She leads him down the the other direction away from the civilization that she never knew. She led him down to a brown hut. It is were her Father lived and she needed a few supplies from him. She turned around and looked at the guy* Stay here and DO NOT move, touch, breath loudly, nothing. And i mean it! *She glared at him and sneaked over to the hut and slithered elegantly into the hut.*

He jumped up and followed her as quickly as he could, but his wounds and throbbing head didn’t make it easy. She led him at a good pace and he had to leap around at times to dodge that plants Anica had warned him about. He almost ran into her when she whipped around and ordered him to stay put. He sniffed, but the moment she turned her back he flopped onto the ground. It wouldn’t be hard to do as she asked. He was too tired to move, wasn’t interested enough to touch, like the shadows he was quiet, and like the shadows he was nothing. It was practically his occupation to blend into the background. He held back a sigh and watched her disappear into the little brown hut. He admired her, in a way. Despite her personality *he thought to himself* she can be very smooth and elegant. Like a shadow. *If there was one thing Lupus was proud of, it was his shadows.* Not that she is one of my shadows, or ever would be…but were she a shadow, I think she’d make a very good one. *A smile almost crossed his lips. He could imagine the looks on the faces of the others he knew. He practically complemented the girl.* They’d probably think I’d gone silly. That is, if anyone had been around to read my thoughts… *He closed his eyes, letting his thoughts take over while he awaited Anica’s return.*

She made her way into the hut as sneaky as could be. She didnt know if he was home and if so it would have not been pleasent. She looked around and seen he wasnt home. She needed more herbs and stuff. She looked for Cajeput, she needed to crush it in soft water to strengthing it. She put some in her bag, along with balsam and a few others. She looked around, the hut and went to the fridge and grabbed Cola out and snagged it in her bags as well. Always helped she thought. She snuck around the corner and ran out. "Well you did listen i see." She looked down he was on the ground. She had to get him out of there and fast, Chief was due at any moment. "Here, Climb on and hold on tight"

He tried to sleep while he waited, but his transitions between the waking world and his dreams were unpleasant. He looked up as Anica returned. “Excuse me? I stayed right here the whole time.” He rose, unsteadily, out the little pool of blood that had formed while he laid waiting. “Mmm…” He growled in displeasure and tried to shake some of it off. “Wait…you want me to do what?” He was about to sit back down, but seeing the tense panic in her eyes he stopped himself. Swallowing his pride, he took a deep breath and pulled himself partly across her shoulders, trying to avoid her lower back. He felt his face flood with heat as he attempted not to make eye contact. “I’m not sure what you’re doing…but I’m sorry about all the blood.”

She winced a bit as he climbed on, "Its nothing to be sorry for, just hold on." She dug in her bag with her paw and grabbed a potion of strength. It was a weak move, but she also combined agility as well. It took about 15 seconds to race into her blood. She smiled as it fully worked. She dashed into the forest deeper, and towards the safe place that she knew her father couldnt get too. She balanced Lupus with skill and grace. With one wrong turn she knew he would get hurt worse. About 10 minutes later they reached a clearing with a crystal sparkling spring, a plushlike field of grassy green grass and a cave. "We...are....here..."She said catching her breath.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 11, 2012 9:11 pm

He struggled to stay on her back as they took off at a ferocious pace. Somehow, that moment was the first highlight of that day. It felt good to have the wind whipping through his hair and fur. He couldn’t help but admire her strength, despite the aid of a potion, and how nice her hair smelled as it tickled his face. As they slowed to a stop, he slid off her back and collapsed onto ground breathing heavily, even though he’d only been a burden to Anica’s efforts. “Don’t you…have a…potion…that could fix me?” It felt wrong for him to be in such a nice place, bleeding all over the lush green and turning the beautiful water crimson. A frown curved his lips as he looked at Anica, her back now covered with his blood. ‘How much have I lost?’ he thought, trying to keep his eyes open.

Anica looked at him. "A lot and i do i just have to create it. Just lay back and take a nap, you should be fine in a couple of hours." She looked at him and looked gathered some crystal clear water in the bottle. She sighed the last time she helped a guy he was a kit and she was trying to make him unblind. Though at this point he was better off being blind. Her blood boiled but she had to stay calm after all she didnt want to mess up the potion. She went over to her bag and crushed the leaves in her mortor and mixed it with a little water to make a paste. She ripped a piece of her dress, to clean the cuts on Lupus. She hoped he was asleep.

He nodded and laid his head against the soft ground. He went out like a light but, like earlier, he didn’t stay that way. Delirious with a fever, he had trouble separating his dreams from reality and drifted frequently and disturbingly between the two. One moment he’d be burning in the sun in the middle of the desert, not a bit of shade to save him, and then next, in the arms of a girl washing his wounds away with a cool cloth and her kind smile. The girl seemed familiar, but he couldn’t quite figure out where from. The bright moon illuminated her figure, but covered her face in shadows. Every time he tried to get closer so he could see her properly, she would speak softly to him and gently help him back down. He tried to talk to her, ask her name, but could seem to make his mouth form words. His frustration almost drove him to tears, ‘when will this end?!’ he thought in agony.

Anica watched him, he tried to move and she had to help him back down. As she cleaned the cuts, she dabbed her paws in the medicine and rubbed it gently all over his fur and wounds. She grabbed the cola out of her bags and put the crushed leaves in it as well to heal any inside damage the plant caused. She smiled as the color of the herb medicine change from a pale pink to a bright red. It means it was working, which was good. Now all he needed to do was to wake up and and drink the cola, and then he needed more rest. She got up and went to riverside and washed her paws off. She sat down and watched him, making sure nothing happened to him.

Lupus blinked hard and tried to keep his eyes open. It felt as if someone was pulling his eyelids shut. He felt wet and sticky and when he lifted his head to look at himself, his fur had turned bright neon pink. To him red was a dark crimson color, anything else was pink. “What did you do?!” He cried. Lupus jumped to his feet and tried to dash into the river, but only managed to stumble a few feet before Anica stopped him. It took his a moment to realize that the pink stuff must be the medicine and he stopped his pitiful struggle. “Couldn’t you have made it a different color?” He whined. “Something…I don’t know…manlier?” His wished, despite his situation, there would have been some way to hold on to some of his dignity in front of the beautiful fox.

Anica blinked at him and giggle, "Sure would neon purple work better for you? Now if you dont mind i want you to sit you a** back down and let the medicine work, as well as drink your cola. It helps with headaches, and will cure you if the plant has managed to get into your system worse than the out side."

Lupus huffed in response and sat up as soon as she removed himself. He cocked his head, “Like Coca Cola?” He remembered the strange, sweet, fuzzy drink he’d tried at a restaurant once. He scratched behind his ears and ended up getting gunk on his paws. “Uh, so what happens if it doesn’t cure me?” He looked around and started wiping his paws on the grass, deciding it would be best not to try and run off again.

She nodded, "if oh that stuff always works. And yes like coca cola. So drink up" She watched him pawing at the ground. "You arent trying to make a quick get away are you?" She eyed him carefully. "By the way my name is Anica."

He finished getting most of the medicine off his claws, “I’m not trying to ‘make a quick getaway.’” He sniffed. “Even if I was, I’d have to badger or something to dig fast enough.” He took the drink and had a small sip. “Hm,” It really was good. He finished it within a few moments and had to catch his breath. “Anica?” It was a pretty name. Not long or complicated, but short and cute, kind of like she was. Lupus coughed into his arm to try and hide his thoughts. “Lupus,” he stated.

Her eyes were fixed on the following water. She was deep in thought or just thinking of nonesence, which was something that was normal at time in her life. She looked up at him when he said her name. "Yes?" She looked at him and seen he finished the drink. "Was that good Lupus?" She turned toward him and looked at him. She looked back at her bag and bottled the unused medicine which some just happened to get on her paws. "Crap" She whispered a bit. This medicine may heal, but if not on something damaged it does damage.

Lupus nodded, “It was very good. Thank you.” He was about to ask if he could go back to sleep, when he heard her swear under her breath. His ears perked and he carefully approached her. “What’s wrong?” Lupus could see the medicine on her paws, but couldn’t understand why that would upset her. It felt good against his scratched skin.

Anica paniced a bit, she knew she had to get it off within a minute. She ran over to the water hoping it wash off. But of course with her lucky she missed the time. Her paw started to swell a bit. She looked over at him. "Oh its nothing." She glanced back at her paw and looked over at the bag. She creeped over to the bag on the ground and looked for it. "Dang it where is it!" She said in a low voice.

Lupus finally caught sight of Anica’s paws and flinched. The swelling looked painful. He wasn’t much for compassion, but after she’d spent her morning helping and tolerating his attitude, he knew he had to help her. He could see she was starting to have trouble gripping the bottles, so Lupus easily slipped the bag from her grasp and started sorting through them. Most of them had labs and he pulled them out with his long thin claws with no trouble at all. He had zero experience with potions or magic, but he swiped three that seemed like they would help and held them up for her to see. “Were you looking for one of these?”
PostPosted: Thu Oct 11, 2012 9:12 pm

Anica looked up at him as he scanned her bag. She didnt like it but she couldnt help it she was hurt. She looked at him, "Um.....no, those are butt cream, cinnomon ear tips and that is something you dont want to know. What i am looking for is golden and glows a blue mist and has a point like a needle to be jammed into my paw." She looked at him. "Sadly it doesnt glow blue until the moon appears." She sighed and watched her paw.

Lupus almost hurled the bottles away from himself. He bit his lip as his face heated up, “Right…” he put those aside, glanced back into the bag, and rummaged through until he found a number of bottles that appeared to look golden. He looked at them from different angles, but couldn’t really tell the difference. He sat up and sighed, “Too bad the moon isn’t out…” He blinked and stared at her. “Wait, did you say ‘moon?!’” He jumped to his feet grinning like a fool. He knew how to help her! “Do you know where a dark cave is?” Lupus could barely contain his excitement, he didn’t know way, but he really wanted to impress/help Anica.

Anica nodded, "Look behind you lupus, I found this place when i was a kit, long time. This stream follows from the inside of the cave, where there is a moon pool and waterfalls." She looked at him. "Why you need a cave for?"

Lupus: “Come on, I’ll show you!” He really wanted to carry her, but with the medicine all over him it would probably make her injuries worse. When he thought about it, he realized that his own wounds didn’t hurt anymore which was also helping to improve his mood. He grabbed her bag so she wouldn’t have to carry it and headed into the cave, glancing back every so often to make sure she was following. When they were deep enough in the cave, he started to feel the shadows shifting in response to his presence, and he stopped and turned to face her. Lupus took a deep breath and pulled out the chopstick that was hidden underneath the medicine. Wiping it off, he revealed its silver glow that came from the piece of moon that rested inside it. Going back to the bag, he pulled out the golden bottle that began glowing as soon as the light touched it. “I believe this should be the one.” He smiled and rolled the liquid around before stopping to ask, “So where do I get the needle from?”

Anica looked at him as he grabbed her bag, she wanted to protest, but the pain was killing her. She followed him slowly and once he finally stop she collasped in front of him. She barely could think straight. She looked at him wided eye. What was he doing and then she seen what he was doing. The glowing chopstick, the golden bottle. She caught it with the paw as he rolled it to her. She looked at him and it. "Well you seen the medicine needle thingy in my bag you need to grab it. If its there. if its not then we will have to do something else and that i dont want to do."

Lupus moved to catch her, but stopped as he reminded himself he’s only make things worse. He made a face, he didn’t like sharp things. His claws were different since they were a part of him that he could control, but something that could be obtained with money? No way. He leaned over the bag allowing the moonlight to illuminate the bag. After a few minutes of moving things around he spotted it. “You’re in luck,” he carefully extracted the needle, holding it an arms distance away from himself. “So do I just put the glowing medicine in here and then…” he shuddered. “Put it in your paw?”

Anica blinked at him all nervous like and nodded her head slowly. "Yes do it fast please." She looked away and stared at the ground this was going to be her second time doing this. The first time was when she was playing around with the medicine to get it right. But now that she knew what to mix what with and how to "properly'' use the medicine she didnt have to use it again. Until now that is. She extended her fat looking paw towards him, she shook a bit but tried to remain still as could be. She hoped it was going to end fast.

Lupus took a deep breath, and very very carefully filled the needle. The last thing he wanted was to p***k himself and start some horrible chain of events that could very well possibly lead to his untimely death. Rolling his shoulders to try and stop his own shaking, he checked to make sure there wasn’t any medicine on his paws and took Anica’s paw in his. “Okay, on three. One,” He stuck her paw with the needle, waited until it was empty and slipped it back out. He felt bad for lying to her, but he hoped that made it easier for her. Placing the sharp object back into her bag, he released a large shudder that he’d been holding back. “How long does it take for the medicine to start working?”

Anica watched him as he jabbed her with the needle. She closed her eyes and thought about the medicine as it quickly raced through her body. Moments later she looked at Lupus and smiled, her paw was losing its shape of its gross self. She glanced back down. It was getting better, but she was slightly tired. She layed her head down. The medicine always tired her out. "Thank you." She whispered as she watched the stream in the cave.

Lupus watched her paws return to normal and sat down next to her. “Glad I could help,” he smiled. He blinked hard and yawned. Despite the fact he’d spent most of the day sleeping, he was pretty sleepy himself. Resting his head on his paws, he glanced at her out of the corner of his eye. “So, have you always been this good with medicine?” He wanted to let her rest, but he felt the need to learn more about her. The trickle of the water calmed him and he almost fell asleep every time he blinked.

She looked over towards his direction and took notes on him. He looked more calm and relax and the wounds on him looked better than before. She nodded and looked back at the water. "Yes, of course when i was little my potions always failed, like i tried to make a sight potion and well i mixed the herbs wrong and the experiment started floating towards the ceiling. But after that i got better. I learned most of it from my fathers books. I stole the books cause all he does is evil, and you know. I am not evil. I can't follow in those horrible steps. Anze might but i cant!" She looked at him. "I learned some magic too but its just enough to help my potions. and its very little." She smiled at him. "You should rest, so the wounds heal better, as do i need rest so the medicine can take its full effect. Sleep tight."

Her soft voice washed over him. He felt strangely calm, something he’d never really experienced before. He was always so wound up, either avoiding others or trying to others to avoid him. It was nice to be around Anica. She was a strong individual, like no female he’d ever met. Most clung to their friends or lovers, this pretty female stood her ground. He chuckled when she told him about her accidental floating potion. “I hope you kept the recipe. I that might have been one of those…oh what do they call it…happy mistake?” He listened to her talk about her parents. When she finished, he merely nodded. He never really knew his parents, so he couldn’t really relate. He smiled sleepily back at her. “Thank you for everything.” He watched her eyes close then, when he thought she was asleep, scooted next to her. Not close enough that he would get any of the medicine from his fur on hers, but so that he could feel her warmth and the soft sound of her breath as it pasted between her lips. “Sleep well, Anica.” He whispered before laying his chin on his paws, and drifting off alongside her.

~Chapter 2~

Lupus slept peacefully next to Anica. It was the best rest he’d had in ages. He woke up slowly, enjoying the moment while it lasted. Suddenly, he became aware that something was tugging at his fur. Not wanting to ruin the moment of calm he was experiencing, he peaked out into the darkness. Surrounding the still sleeping form of Anica and himself was a large pile of dark Shadows. Lupus could feel their excited tension and, from what he could sense, they’d been waiting patiently for a while now. He couldn’t see it, but he knew the moon was about an hour into the sky. Rising and stretching, he felt even more powerful. The Shadows had removed all of the medicine from his hair and fur, which shone in the light of his chopstick. A large grin spread across his face, the pain was gone. No ache remained, not even a scratch. His respect for Anica grew. She truly was talented with medicine. He glanced around and, not wanting to waste the night, silently approached Anica. He paused a moment, watching her sleep. Her hair hung loosely around her and, as he leaned closer, he could hear her breathing, deep and even. Lupus almost didn’t want to wake her up, but he was full of energy and wanted to explore. “Anica,” he whispered, “it is nightfall.” He wasn’t used to waking others up, so he wasn’t sure how to properly go about arousing them from their slumber without provoking their anger.

As the night filled the air, Anica's dream of what she use to want and need faded. She had finally released the anger and dispear of wanting her ex. She knew she wasnt the one that needed to take care of him. He deserved others that could cater to him. She wanted more now, more adventure and maybe some danger. The medicine that conflicted her paw seemed to take the love she once had for her ex away. She sighed peacefully in her sleep. Her dream vivid as it went from her ex, to adventure with Lupus. She was confused as her dream suddenly disappeared as someone called her name. She looked up half asleep and blinked several times at him. "Lupus.." She smiled and sat up with a yawn. "Yeah it is, you okay though?" She looked at him slightly worried, she usually, sometimes slept through the night, afterall it was not the monthly herb night gathering.

Lupus bowed his head, “I’m sorry for waking you, but I could not waste this beautiful night resting.” He rose and spun around, showing that he was completely healed. “You’re magic is powerful indeed. I have not a scratch left, not even a scar remains to prove it ever happened.” He sat back down in front of her and wrapped his tail neatly around his paws. ‘But it did happen,’ he thought to himself, ‘and I won’t forget it.’ Smiling back at her he noticed her tiredly looking around. “Oh, we don’t have to explore if you don’t want to…I just…” Just what? He pondered this for a moment. “I thought it would be fun if you showed me around. Of course, we don’t have to if you don’t want to.” He shifted from paw to paw, unable to stay still as he waited for her answer.

Anica eyed him as he spun around, she hoped he didn't fall, but laughed at him. "It is okay for waking me up, i don't mind." She blinked at him. Explore, he wanted to explore at this time of the night. It could be fine, or dangerous, she paused her father was out there and that could get interesting. She smiled and looked back up at him. "Tired? Me? Never, i just need to wake up a bit." She walked over to the stream of the flowing water and dipped her head in and back out. She shook it off like a little dog and blinked at him. "Of course it will be fun, as long as we stay away from danger we should be fine, and ....i... well getting out at this time of night is needed. She smiled at him.

Lupus was glad she wasn’t mad at him. He would have hated to start off the night like that. He blinked as some of the water droplets flew from her muzzled and landed on his. He grinned, “It’ll be fun with or without trouble. Though trouble might make it a little more exciting…” He nodded in agreement, “I don’t sleep well unless I have a good bit of exploring during the night.” Rising, he stretched and shook off any bit of sleep that remained. “Would you care to lead the way?” He had followed her here and wanted to be polite. After all, she was familiar with these woods and it would be helpful to have a native keep him from walking into any more dangerous plants.

Anica leaps up to her feet and smiles. "How about we walk together instead of you follow me?" She nod and grabbed her medicine satchel and tied it around her waist, never know what trouble they might get into. She turned to him as she got to the cave entrance. "You coming?" She said with a smile.

Lupus smiled and rose to his feet trotting to catch up with Anica. “That I am,” it felt nice to stand to next to someone instead of slinking behind or running ahead. They emerged in to the bright moonlight. Better than sunlight, it made his fur feel cool and the Shadows seem happier as they danced in her light. He inhaled the night air letting it fill his lungs. The area around them looked different it the night, he wondered if that was why he was attracted here in the first place. “So, where should we go first?”

Anica smiled as the moonlight shined brightly on her. She looked up with a soft glow in her eyes. She looked over at Lupus, "Well i was thinking that we should go north to Batwater meadow. The bats dance above the water as the surround creatures make music for the beat. Its really nice. Then we shall go to west around mashrock, to Starflower trees, to the orhard, to the center of the forest known as dead mans run and then back here." She sighed there was so many parts of the forest she had not mention but there was so much to do, she only hoped he didn't as her what dead mans run was.

Lupus grinned, making his white teeth glow against his dark fur. He liked the sound of Batwater Meadow. Creatures of the night always caught his interest. Dead Man’s Run sounded eerie and made his fur stand on end, but that only made him more curious and eager to go. His Shadows were already out dashing about and making the bushes rustle in time with the wind. The moon seemed to smile down on them and its warms almost set his heart ablaze. He heard her sigh and stopped himself from getting lost in the moment and running off to play with the Shadows. “Let’s head to Batwater Meadow. That sounds like a lot of fun.” He smiled softly at her to show that he was being honest.

She blinked at him. "Yeah that is where we were going to go first anyways." She smiled and winked at him and stood a few in front of him. She looked up at the moon and and then in the surrounding wooded area. As she looked little white flowers sprung to life as she walked closer to the north side. The flowers knew who she was. The glowed brightly as they made and lit a path that they needed to follow. "Found the path," she smiled as she looked back at him. She turned back to the path and curtsy to them. She walked in and landed on a clear area that started the path, as she turned back toward him the flowers quickly closed up as if they were blocking anyone else from entering. She looked at him and hope he asked her questions about this flower.

Lupus huffed in slight embarrassment and followed. He paused in surprise as the flowers responded to Anica’s presence the same way his Shadows did for him. He started to sniff at one, but it closed as soon as Anica began to leave. He soft ground was cool against his pads as he hurried to walk next to her. “So, these flowers, can you communicate with them? Or do they just respond to your presence?” Unsure if there was a protocol to follow when passing glowing flowers, he gave a slight nod to a few of them as they passed. He hoped he wasn’t making a fool of himself and watched Anica out of the corner of his eye.

Anica laughed at him as he nodded at the flowers. "Communicate, well i guess i can?" She shrugged, she always talked to flowers but then again the flowers spoke to her as if she could feel the warmth, cold and feeling of a flower. But she assumed that was all part of her herbology nature gift. "I mean i can tell what a flower feels like these are feeling happy and joyous that i am in here and they know what i want and where to go. But i guess that is my herbal magical gift. On blood nights the weeping tears of blue. Those i do collect for medicine and potions and things like that." She stopped in the middle of the path and looked to the left. "Come, i want to show you something." She walked towards the left and followed another path that lead her to a cliff/balcony type hill. Basically a sightseeing area. She smiled. "I want you to see this, but stand back until the wind is gone." She warned him a bit she didnt want his scent mixing with hers. She walked up on the ledge and whistled. She smiled as a gust of chilling winds circled her body. She lowered her head as the wind continued and dispersed into the woods. She looked up and motioned for Lupus to get to her. Within minutes the woods glowed brightly as the different flowers lite up during the night. She looked at him and smiled. "This is something i knew as a kid, but i never showed anyone, but you."

“Blood Night?” His ears twitched, “When is that?” It was probably less gruesome than the images that came to his mind, but he didn’t say that. His tail twitched in excitement as they turned and headed to a spot that overlooked the area around them. He stood back and watched her move into the wind. Her hair danced around her face and he heard himself involuntarily sigh. She looked so at ease and pretty he almost missed her inviting him up. He rose fearlessly trotted up to the edge. One of the benefits of controlling Shadows was that he never had to fear heights, unless it was bright and sunny. “Whoa…” The whole forest seemed to be aglow with all of the different forms of light. The moon, stars and strange flowers warmed his fur and made him grin foolishly. He looked down at her when she told him how special this place was to her. “Thank you for showing this to me. It’s so beautiful.” Despite the fact he was talking about the area that surrounded them, he couldn’t seem to take his eyes off of her.

She smiled and noticed his eyes locked into hers. She blushed and looked away towards the forest. "Though you see that dark patch in the distance? That is deadmans run. It is where the evil of all lives, he forbids any kind of this lovely light shinning and every time i plant some nearby he destroys them. Sad really." She paws the ground as she looks down. She sighs and looks back into the woods and all the twinkling colors. "Blood Night is when my father is on the run and his minions are loose. They destroy the plants that you see, for Father's bidding, they are planning something. Or atleast they were. I am not sure what to think. All i know is when the moon turns red, then that night is here. It is what we all fear, though as for me, i am not scared of him. I can take him." She smiles faintly and looks up to him. "Let us go, I am sure my scent has reached deadman's run and father will try something to get me."

When she looked away, it was like some sort of spell had been broken. He finally remembered how to move and turned his gaze out onto Deadman’s Run. Even though he was Prince of Shadows, the darkness that emanated from that area made him tense up. “Only a terrible evil would kill such beauty.” He considered marching straight in there and have a ‘talk’ with this evil until she said, “Father?” He bit his lip and wished he hadn’t made that earlier comment. He could imagine Anica defending herself from a forest of demons lead by the devil himself, her father. He glared into darkness. ‘He must be in there now…’ he thought to himself. As he turned away, another though unnerved him. He shook his head to chase it away, but it stuck as if super glued there. Was it in his head? Or did he really see someone staring back? Despite the confidence he had in himself and Anica, he really didn’t want to find out the answer.

She walked down the path and turned around to notice Lupus was still hanging up there. "Lupus? You coming?" She turned only to notice a smell, the smell of evil. It was strong, like a skunk odor. She paced in a circle and looked up towards where the path weaved into another. The flowers were flicking like a light. Anica lowered her head down closer to the ground and stared for a few. She glared her yellow eyes to the darkest patch of the forest.

“Hm? Yes,” he carefully turned to her. Contrary to what some think, there is a difference between Shadows and Evil. As they moved forward, a rush of Shadows clustered around him. He saw Anica react as well. He could feel the Shadows mixed emotions. Some were angry at the intruder, others were terrified, but most were confused at the darkness that was taking up their space. His lips pulled back to reveal his shiny fangs. If there was something his Shadows didn’t like, neither did he.

Her eyes were fixed onto the darkness. She took steps back and up against Lupus. She felt safe and protected once more. The flowers dimmed dark that surrounded her. The dark moved closer and closer to them. She grabbed her breath and slowly inched behind Lupus. Suddenly a pair of eyes appeared in the dark mist and an evil laughter filled the air with a chill. They didnt have to go to deadmans run, it was here, out and about. She gulped waiting and watching the eyes piercing right into her soul.
