AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM
Name: Zathimiel Kadamitas Nicknames: Zath Gender: Male Age: Appears 16
Faction: Monster Race: Blight Dragon
Natural Ability: Disguise the Taint: Zathimiel is capable of disguising the effects that his internal taint has on his body - i.e. he can make himself not appear twisted/rotted. However, it isn't perfect at the first year, and he prefers to go the "long way" and just cover up with clothes!
Personality: Chivalry is Not Quite Dead || Zath is a gentleman. Blight Dragons are generally solitary creatures or live in very small family units, so most of what he understands about social conventions he has learned from books, and he has learned that it is appropriate to treat people in a polite, respectful manner. He tends to do it regardless of the other person's gender (especially since Halloween creatures don't always look like the gender they are...or have a gender...) so he is equally happy to open doors and pull out chairs and such for boils as ghouls.
The Prince In His Castle || For all his gentlemanly affect, Zath is fairly emotionally distant. He is a solitary creature by nature and preference, and he hasn't quit mastered the whole "emotional connections" thing. Ideally he would like to make friends, but he tends to prefer to avoid getting too close.
Please Don't Touch Me || Zath is very, very weird about physical contact. He does not like being touched and is not a touchy feely huggy person. This is mostly to do with him being intensely unused to it - Blight Dragons really aren't a huggy species by nature.
Knowledge Is Power || Zath is intensely intellectually curious. He loves to read, and books were his main connection to the outside world as a child growing up in a hidden mountain cave. Some dragons might hoard treasures, Zath hoards books and scrolls and knowledge. He has only recently discovered the Web, and it is his brand-new Favorite Thing Ever. So much knowledge, so easy to find!
Tranquil Fury || Zath does not yell, or throw fits, or rage. No matter how angry he is, he always keeps up his even-tempered, calm facade. He is vicious when enraged, but he will rearrange your organs with a completely calm expression, perhaps even an unnerving little smile. Being so emotionally detached, he doesn't even get angry on the inside very often; his biggest trigger, however, would be bullying or otherwise acting like a jerk.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? Zath wants to learn to...well, master his taint. It's a skill that his parents have assured him will come with time, but he wants to learn more quickly.
FEAR Ability: Spread the Corruption (Tainted Fang): Zath focuses his FEAR and exhales, releasing a breath weapon that is a concentrated version of the taint he carries in his body. It will make the affected person feel ill for a short time.
Physical Description:
Eye Colour: Gold Hair Colour/Style: Jet black, falls to past his waist Skin Colour: Eerily pale, except for on his hands, which are the purpley red of his natural form Clothing Style/Colours: Most of his body should be covered - turtleneck, longcoat, gloves, long pants, boots. Colors should be black, very dark red, and red-violet Extra: Clawed fingers, blighted dragon wings, tail References: None yet

About Blight Dragons
Blight Dragons are very solitary creatures, usually living either alone or, extremely rarely, in small family groups. They tend to settle in areas that are already fairly barren, such as high mountain caves or places deep underground.
With prolonged exposure, especially to older, stronger Blight Dragons, the taint disease that they carry is fatal. The older the Dragon, the nastier the taint; while young ones essentially cannot not affect everything their skin contacts, they carry a very mild from that will, at worse, make you feel very ill. Older ones can control it and do very serious damage.
Blight Dragons are based off the Archdemons from the Dragon Age series.
Zathimiel's Personal History
Zathimiel is a pumpkin-born Blight Dragon. He comes from one of the very rare family units, two Blight Dragons who chose a companionship with each other instead of a solitary existence.
His parents mostly kept him isolated, since as a young Blight Dragon his taint is utterly out of control and he cannot hide or disguise it reliably. At his request, whenever one of them went out to secure food or other supplies, his parents always brought him books and their own stories of the outside world. He was utterly fascinated.
He desired very strongly to attend Amityville when he heard of it secondhand-one of the scarelings in the town his parents usually visited was heading off. He determined that it was the best way to learn, more quickly, how to master his taint so that he could, in effect, "turn it off" on occasion.

Random Tidbits!
-Zath's name is pronounced Za-THEE-me-el Ka-DA-me-tas. "Zath" is pronounced exactly as it looks. -"Zathimiel" is a portmanteau of "Zazikiel" and "Urthemiel", two of the Archdemons in Dragon Age; Kadamitas is a Latin word meaning, according to Google Translate, "loss, damage, harm, misfortune, military defeat, blight" -Zath's natural form is, essentially, this.
Minipets
Anzikale: Zath's best friend. No, seriously. Extremely affectionate towards everyone.

Ahaha I had a feeling this was Dragon age based by the species. XD Awesome.
Though what exactly is the taint? How long would it take to heal? I realize he's based on the archdemon but corruption and taint can be interpreted in many ways. Also how would it affect undead and ghosts? They're technically alive but their body's may not necessarily be living flesh.
I'm also assuming that it's fairly weak when dealing with other sentient beings (Horsemen/students/hunters) so a hug or handshake wouldn't do much. If so there maaay be a little issue there given that he is y1 and all.
Also out of curiosity, how would he feel if someone was super clingy to him despite all of that?
As for the species description... I'm not 100% if it'll fly regarding turning other citizens into their minions. Creatures of halloween typically do not have the ability to convert others into.. well... anything as far as I know.

Ahaha yeah I might have nerded out a little on this one.
Thank you for the crit! I went back and made some tweaks; more detail on a description of the taint as it would play in Halloween, and I totally took out the part about converting other creatures. (Might not have totally thought that one through as far as actually being acceptable. Also might have written this up during a class, which is clearly the best time to work on such things.)
As for actually dealing with someone super clingy, I feel like it is so out of his depth that he flat-out would not know what to do. It would make him pretty damn uncomfortable at the very least.

I'm really digging this concept!
Just one question: Has Zath ever been furious before? Seeing as he was isolated, it doesn't seem like there was much chance that there would be someone to make him angry. Maybe he got mad at characters in stories though? Not really a concern, just curiosity!
Also, what kinds of things would trigger his fury?

No, he really has never had much opportunity to get really, truly angry! (though he may have pelted a book or two across the room because characters become so dumb for the sake of plot...and then immeditely grouchily picked it back up again because he can't leave books unfinished.)
He's actually pretty hard to get angry because he's so generally emotionally detached; however, he does really hate seeing people pick on those weaker than them or generally act like jerks. So bullying would be his big trigger, I think, since it's flat-out against what he understands social conventions to be.

I like his personality and I like him overall! I think he would get a long well with my own student... also super polite and relatively emotionally stunted. XD
My only issue is with his natural ability. I honestly don't mind it in general but I feel like it would need to be approved by a mod. Imposing disease accidently onto people would sort of suck if they weren't expecting it. I guess it's not really an issue (i love that he covers himself up like Rogue from x-men) but just something that should be mod approved in case there's an issue.
>.> Then again I have no idea if you've asked a mod yet.. so I could just be blowing smoke. LOL
I do really like him though!

o look at me, professionally missing crits for a really long time I'm glad you like him overall! I probably will run it by a mod at some point, I hadn't even thought to @.@ Thanks for the advice! <3 Though if it does get approved I'd OOCly (and Zath would ICly) warn anyone who might catch it XD So it's not like SURPRISE TERRIBLE DISEASE that would not be cool >:
