With strong and even steps her ash hooves met with the wetness of the swamp, darker eyes under the arch of gold analyzing everything as if the trees themselves were watching her. Even as a little foal her father had always been accepting over her impulsive straying from him, encouraging that zest for discovery. This day wasn't an exception.
Eve had a penchant for strange things, looking at where bugs and beetles traveled to, comparing how the bark of each tree felt different, how the fog in the swamp settled in various times of the day. Needless to say the grey and golden doe was always lost in her own daydreaming. And this particular time, she was looking right down on her feet, looking how the water rippled with each step she took, even unaware she was approaching a grand field of glowing mushrooms and lush grass.

So close, yet...slightly too far. Hunting... It was so tedious, but he had a job to do. With Dandelion Sprout not far off, watching the catch he'd planned with her and even prepared to assist if the need came, he was prepared for just about anything. Which was interesting because the sound of hooves sloshing in the mud soon came to startle the large-ish creature, making it run right for him. What luck! With a spring up from his legs, he lept at the scared and bleating thing as it prepared to leap over him, his jaws snapping shut on a leg. A terror filled cry was heard before Wilted was seen thrashing, trying to bring it down. It left his Swan to wander toward the curious female. With a final rustle of movement, Wilted Branches brought his head up, sighing at the fuss he'd had to go through with his catch. "Not everyday that a fighter comes my way." He chuckled softly, looking toward the female that had so aided him.

She had heard the sudden commotion but it hardly fazed the young doe, trotting even more excitedly towards the source of the sound. And much to her surprise she was met by a gentle green swan, a creature that she had never seen before yet at the same time the appearance of the other comforted her. Did this one make all that commotion? But she was far too small for it--
And then she spotted the dark male, pausing for a long while with her dark eyes focusing on the dark buck. Ah, so it was he who she heard. She tilted her head to the side, fighter? Comes his way? What was he talking about? Yet all that seemed unimportant as she looked upon him more closely, fearlessly stepping forward.
He was--a living, breathing tree? She knew that the trees were alive yet not one had talked to her or approached her like this. Eve was terribly enamored by that idea.
She wordlessly eyed him, a curious expression on her face as her eye traveled from his dirty brown hooves up to his branch-like appendages.
"Are you a tree?" she asked in inquiry, too captivated by this buck to notice his fresh catch.

A tree? This lovely doe thought he was a tree? Well that was a first! "I am not at all a tree, I am a kimeti, just as you are." He bowed his head kindly. "My name is Wilted Branches, which is like being a tree I suppose you could say." He stood straight again, his Swan moving past him. "Oh, and this is Dandelion Sprout." The swan looked back and fluffed her feathers. "Might I ask you what your name is and why you might be out here?" Wilted seemed curious, after all, it wasn't every day that he seemed to run into another that had aided in his hunt by accident!

"Ah.." was her muted response, not really fully comprehending but acknowledging his words as the truth anyway. He had a kind voice, one that didn't escape her, she liked it. "Wilted Branches," Eve said gently, "I am Evenfall." She glanced back at the feathered swan, she thought it was beautiful as well, a creature that stood out from the dull colour of the swamp.
It was strange, the only others she had ever met were her father and her two other sisters. And this buck compared to her father was startlingly different. While her father was a bright gold, this one was dark and natural, her eyes following the brighter lines of the bucks body. "Hm?" Eve didn't really manage to completely catch what Wilted Branches was saying, too caught up in her own world as she moved --probably too close to him-- and touching her nose to that fluff of pelt that was on his chest.
"Ah-- I was exploring," she eyed his catch, being rather impressed now that she saw it. "You caught that?" the doe asked in wide eyed wonder, looking up at the brighter greens of the dark buck.

Her actions were...odd. He raised a brow, seeming interested at her actions. "Yes, I did catch it. I am a hunter, and part of Rise and Co." Being part of something made the male feel as though he had to mention it to any that might not have known or heard of it. "It is nice to meet you Evenfall." She was a lovely doe. "Are you simply wandering around here?"

Her expression brightened considerable when he mentioned he was a hunter, the doe's face clearly interested. "A hunter? Rise and Co? What is that?" she started, tilting her head to the side but not before bumping her nose against the brown pelt of the buck. "You must be really strong.." She mused, wishing she could be one too, yet knowing that perhaps her father would rather her be in a more gentle occupation.
"I was--following the water's flow. It led me to you, I do not know where I am." Evenfall answered honestly, her eyes wandering from him to Dandelion Sprout.

"Oh." He blinked. "Ah... Rise and Co is a family of kin whom prepare quite the assortment of delicious and delightful foods. I hunt for their disredle they stay at the shop." He smiled a bit. "Quite an unadventurous female you are hm?" Wilted turned to get his kill. "This, I must get back to the shop. If you would like to come along, I would not mind and you might like to get something to eat while there?"

She huffed slightly at that. "I like to discover new places and seek new things," the doe started, motioning towards the other's companion and to him. "After all, I found you didn't I?"
But in an case she was interested in this Rise and Co who prepared delicious food, grey eyes staring at the other in interest. "Yes, I would like that." Eve immediately replied, walking towards the other's side and eager to start their journey to this mysterious place he spoke of. "Do you always hunt?"

"I do." He got the animal before settling it upon his back, shifting carefully to be sure it would stay. "It seems to be what I'm decent at. But I have yet to try other things out for Rise." Dandelion moved out with them, seeming to be happy to go home for rest.

She paused for a long while, watching Dandelion's graceful movements as well as her new companion's before finally speaking up again. "Can you teach me?" Eve started, walking close to Wilted Branches, every so often brushing against his rougher skin and increasingly more comfortable with the other.

"To hunt?" He looked at her, blinking a moment but giving a smile. She seemed strong and had already made it clear she was eager and willing to learn. "I don't see why not. Is there anything you had in mind to get or would you like me to choose something for us?"

"Yes. To hunt like you did.." she said, motioning to his earlier catch again, the whole process so foreign yet exciting to her. "Uhm..." she looked around the swamp. Being as young as she was she had no idea yet what things were called, or what would have been a suitable thing to hunt. "Perhaps, like what you caught? Or anything that we may see on our way?" Sincerely she also really did want to see him in action.

"I'd suggest something a bit easier..." He looked up and around as well. " You'd need to know how to kill it first..." His ears twitched. "Dandelion Sprout." The swan looked over from where it was. "Find something please."

"Thank you," the doe said quietly, giving him a gentle smile. It seemed the buck knew what he was going and she was only very eager to learn. "Perhaps I may learn how to do it once I watch you." And she did want to learn, especially seeing how strong the other was --and to her, that was handsome.
She looked over to the swan as well, grey eyes watching it follow its master.
