Vincent followed the hall he was instructed to go down knowing at the end behind those doors waited another less then pleasant experience. No matter how confident one could be it didn't mean they liked standing in front of five people while they judged you. They didn't care that this was your dream, your life, your need. Everyone that went through these test had a reason for being there. So it simply wasn't enough that you wanted it, Vincent knew he had to let them know they wanted him.
The doors swung open and Vincent entered the room quickly trying to get a grasp on what type of people these judges were. His mother had always told him you should never judge a book by its cover, but Vincent did not find this sentence to be accurate. While one should not seal their judgement on a book by its cover alone one could learn much about its contents by the outer packaging. Every book had an illustration and on its back to those who know to turn it over there was a blurb summarizing what was inside. Like books Vincent could sometimes see this on people. What they wore could indicate their interest, how they spoke could indicate their personality, and how they held themselves could speak on their opinions of him and ranks among the five judges present.
"Welcome Mr. Vincent Von Valatoray we are happy that you have made it this far with our process and look forwards to seeing what comes of this meeting." A man from the center of the judges addressed Vincent before introducing each of the company's members that sat at the judge's table. He opened a file and his coworkers seemed to follow his actions. "Now with introductions out of the way we would like to proceed. Are you ready Mr. Valatoray?" The man asked looking over his file at the young boy before him. Vincent smiled withdrawing one hand from his pockets to push his glasses back up the ridge of his nose. "But of course, I am eager to proceed." In truth this was anything but. Though his outer demeanor suggested that of confidence he was wondering inside how he had even gotten this far. He was not like others, he had no super powered items or powers. Only a talent and the items held with in his precious backpack. How was he going to prove he was the one they wanted to sponsor?
"Alright then. Even though we have your files in front of us and know the basics about you. We wish for you to use the next three minutes to either show us, tell us, or otherwise convince us why you should be the future hero that our company should invest in. Again Mr. Valatoray you have three minutes from the start of your first movement or words." The man said before laying the file down to stare at the boy. Vincent could feel their eyes on him and he swallowed to fight any signs of nervousness that might fight to his features. "First I will take a quick moment to thank each of you for your time and consideration." Vincent was a fast talker so there was time for such formalities in his mind. "As you may have noticed from a overview in files I am not like some of the other candidates you have seen. But I assure you this makes me no less of an competitor against them. I can tell you that what I lack in traditional super powers or items I make up ten fold with my intelligence and special talent of magical potion making. If its hard to comprehend how one would use potion making as a hero's skill consider what the affects potions can have. From healing to an increase on one's physical skills to the darker side of acids and poisons there are many things one can accomplish with the right potions at hands." Vincent paused only to take a quick breath and a voice quickly broke the silence.
"Potion and the affects they can cause is all very impressive Mr. Valatoray, but what about when you run out of potions? Or loose them? Or you don't have the one you need right when you need it?" A woman from the far right end questioned. Vincent kept an annoyed look from his face. He was about to get to that before she spoke. He smiled to her and gave a nod of his head. "That is a very good question indeed. This is where my intelligence and extra training will come into play. One of the reasons I want to attend the academy is for physical training. Its something my education lacks. Where as my knowledge on weapons on the other hand is quite extensive only lacking a certain amount of hands on training. Which would make being sponsored by munitions manufacturing company ideal. Think of is this way if you choose someone fully able to fight and defend themselves with their super powers alone. When would the use of you products come into play? Imagine if you will a subject who has taken a potion to increase his speed he then uses his speed to apprehend an offender with the use of your weapons like the recently completed Typhoon P374 hand pistol." A slight noise came from the five judges it was not common knowledge that they were even making that pistol much less that it was finished. "Wouldn't this sight be far more meaningful and useful to your company's image then a super powered numbskull just wearing your logo or something?" Vincent paused to look at them his mind wondering if his words were working. He spoke with confidence, but he desperately using tactics a business man would use rather then words a hero would strictly speak.
"Now I've arranged for a particular display of not only one of my potions, and my love for the construct of firearms, but a taste of what your product can look like in my hands." Vincent motioned that he was ready for the assistants nearby to bring the table forward. Two men carried a long table with twelve of the companies weapons dismantled as though ready to be put in the cases. They placed the table in front of Vincent before moving away. Vincent moved his hand back and pulled out a vial of red liquid. "This is a speed potion depending on the strength of the batch it can increase my normal speed by five times and it can last up to an hour. I hope with more practice I can increase the affects of the potion." Vincent then uncapped the potion and drank it. He seemed to wait one moment before he began to put the weapons back together at an alarming rate. "Now only imagine what I can do once trained proficiently with each weapon. A powerful display of your weaponry matched with my speed." Within seconds each weapon was fully assembled for use. "I'm even working on an increased accuracy potion. Which means your already high performing weapons would almost never miss in my hands. Imagine how that will look to those looking to buy your product. I assure you there is no one better to represent your company then I am. No one will promote your sales more then I will! My every victory could be seen as your victory. In my mind you would be foolish not to choose me." Vincent took this time to stare each one of them in their eyes. He knew his time was just about up. "I thank each and every one of you for your time and I know you will make the right decision."
