The large lion lapped lazily at the water in the little pool he had stumbled across. It was nice to have something like that thrust upon you, and there was no way Wayakesk would refuse water that was cast into his path. He hadn't even been terribly thirsty, but was thankful for the offering, and wondered if there was some power or will that had done it on purpose. Maybe a God had been watching him and thought he might appreciate it. Deep thinking over a puddle of water, perfect way to top off a relaxing afternoon of sunbathing and definitely not getting smaller or younger. Well, he did appreciate it, as Waya appreciated all things in his life.
The golden-brown colored male grunted as he reclined to his haunches, his belly wiggling a little as he settled, a little bit of water dripped from his chin. Satisfied with a refreshment, and with the fact that the sun was still beating precious warmth down on him, Waya closed his eyes, laying his ears back and lifting his muzzle to the soft breeze, grinning. The breeze only slightly ruffled the hairs of his mane, and they tickled at his brow. It was so wonderful though, and the smell of the dust and the grasses and other creatures was so intriguing...

Orange eyes weary from a long day of walking, Latifu looked positively exhausted. She had gotten up early only to continue the destination-less journey that she had thrust herself into. Staying still for too long just seemed odd to the pale lioness, like she was wasting parts of her life that she could be using to explore new things, find new places.
Though so far, it really hadn't been much more than exhausting herself while walking the entirety of the day. She was lucky that she was light in color, so the sun didn't affect her too much, but it still wasn't really all that she had hoped it would be. But that was life, and she was glad for even days like this. Her goal in life was to be like the wind, breezing over the lands and continuing on, and days like this were just part of that long journey.
Taking in a deep breath, Latifu could faintly pick up the scent of water not too far off. The thought was more than tantalizing, and Latifu's mouth dropped open slightly as she pictured it, imagining just how nice it would be to have some right about now. Shaking her head back and forth, she tried to pump some energy back into her body, if only temporarily. She quickened her pace, almost blindly running towards it now.

Waya sat for another moment with his muzzle to the sky until a stronger scent that of his own kind came to his nostrils, and he opened his eyes and glanced about to spot a pale-furred lioness headed in his direction. Or was she headed in the water's direction? Either way, Waya supposed her was about to find out, and he gave his large body a shake and pushed himself standing to greet her. He would gladly move aside to share the water, Waya was no creature of greed or dislike.
His deep pink eyes examined her as she came closer, how her white fur almost seemed to glow in the intense sun. She must be nice and cool. Waya never really got why creatures complained about the heat though, for he loved it. True to his nature, the large lion spent most of his day lounging. Though he also loved to adventure far and wide and learn new things about prides and families and names and all the other things in the world, but he had already spent much of his life doing so and so took time to enjoy his fair share of lounging as well.
"Hello, hello!" The dark-furred male called softly to the approaching lioness, stepping aside from the water and offering her a nod. "Drink, child. I won't keep you." He smiled kindly, nodding again which caused his black mane to fall in front of his eyes for a moment.

As she came nearer, a moving figure quickly caught Latifu's eye, and she slowed her pace immediately. She hadn't really been expecting to run into anyone; rather, her mind was so absorbed in being exhausted that she had forgotten that things like this usually happen. Not that she was upset because someone else was there; she was just a little flustered because she must have looked kind of ridiculous running towards the water like that.
With her slowed pace, she tried to hold herself a bit better, instead of coming across as some ravenous beast. She offered a kind smile towards the lion as she stepped closer. He seemed to be friendly; after all, how many ill-intending strangers got up to greet you? At least, she would have expected a charge or something like that if he wasn't friendly.
"Ah, hello there." Dipping her head slightly, she was thankful for his kindness. She really didn't know if this area was claimed as his own, or if he was just a wandering traveler, like herself. "If you don't mind...you'll have to excuse me." Not wanting to come across as rude, Latifu tried to quickly say something before practically diving right in. Giving him a soft look, she returned her focus to the water, trying to gulp down as much of it as she could while still maintaining some form of dignity.

The older male lion watched as the female drank, not realizing there was a possibility of this making her uncomfortable- and chuckled softly as she took the water so happily. It made him happy to see others needs filled, and he couldn't help but chuckle. "Of course, dear. Of course." He said through chuckles, pausing and shaking his mane from in front of his eyes. Waya was enjoying this company already, it was always good to meet a stranger with a gift, in his opinion; and although it wasn't necessarily his gift to give, he figured it worked well enough, as it seemed quite obvious that she had been seeking it regardless.
"Nice little place for some water, eh?" The large male mused, a grin spread across his features nearly ear to ear. "Convenient..." He began, though he trailed off. Waya didn't want to overwhelm the girl by speaking too much while she was still busy, so he left these comments for a moment and glanced about in the other direction for a moment, waiting.

Listening to the way the lion spoke, Latifu began to think that there might have been an age gap between the two. He seemed comforting, like how her father was on the few occasions she saw him. It was a bit reminiscent, but she tried not the focus on it while she was here, in front of someone else.
"It really is." Pulling her head up from the water, she looked up at him, a bit lost in his face for a moment. She hadn't really gotten a good look at him before now, as she was so focused on getting water. His dark features weren't something she was really used to seeing; rather, she wasn't too used to seeing a darker shade of brown. Black ran in her family, as well as her own white pelt, and her siblings were all dotted with bright colors. She even traveled with someone who was just white that faded into gray; his natural-based look was strikingly different to her.
"It was kind of a saving grace; I had gone for such a long time without it." Letting out a soft laugh, she was a bit embarrassed about that fact. She didn't think it was very responsible - or lady-like - to forget about one's own necessities.

"Alright, happens to the best of us, lil' lady." The large male chuckled again. Something had gotten into him with the giggles today, but Waya didn't waste time wondering what, for he was more than happy to just go with it and let the flow surprise him. He flicked his tail and shifted himself, blinking at her with a big smile.
"You mustn't be very close to home I guess, eh, if y'ain't had water in a while." Waya continued, his dark magenta eyes taking in her facial expressions. She seemed like she was fairly new to being out on her own, and for a moment the large male was caught in thoughts of some of his own first adventures. He sighed happily and shook his head, shifting his weight slightly again and glancing about quickly before turning his attention back to the female.
"Well, m'names Wayakesk, ma'am. Waya does just fine though, if that's for you." He grinned, awaiting her response.
