Aurora had a lot to think about, and it wasn't the usual things to think about. It wasn't the usual daydreaming about boys or ship pairings or ANYTHING of that sort, really. And while she wasn't exactly a stranger to thinking about other things, it was a rare enough occurrence to find her so thoughtful and..

.. sad.

The dark mirror senshi smacked both of her cheeks and shook her head. "Stop thinking about it!" Pep talk time. To herself. "Time to get going! People are counting on you! Ares is counting on you!"

She found herself in the park, patrolling along the perimeter of the tree line. There wouldn't be many people here to drain at this time of night but that didn't matter. She just really wanted someone to talk to. Toutatis. Leto. Benitoite. Natron. ... Lenka.

"Wah, stop thinking about it! Be happy!"

Aventine was still very much a reluctant participate in this whole war, but a good talking to by a very convincing participant of Order had given her enough motivation to step out her door and give this whole 'Aventine' thing a chance.

She figured she'd take it easy—maybe only an hour of prancing around in this silly getup before she high-tailed it home in time for her skeezy late night dramas. The park was within a close enough range to her home that she figured she could make it around without attracting too much attention. There was always the safety of the trees and brush if things got too weird, and if rugby had taught her anything, it was that she sure as hell could run fast enough when she needed to. As proven fact thanks to your friendly neighborhood youma attack.

Perusing the park had been interesting, especially when she felt that sickly cold sweep down her spine—and immediately she knew that something was wrong—and not only was it wrong, it was close.

It felt like a spider had just dropped from one of the overhanging branches to tickle down her nape. A bit of paranoia had Aventine sweeping her hand through her hair—just in case! —before she decided she'd had enough of lurking in the trees.

Just as she'd gone to take a step out, she heard the voice, and found herself staring at a very pretty—albeit weirdly dressed girl. Initially Aventine assumed the girl was talking to her—oh, crap, had she said something aloud? A quick recheck of herself had her figuring that this girl was either crazy or had some mind-reading talent. Already confused enough, she didn't have a lot of time to process the words before she was blurting, "What the hell are you talking about?"

She had felt the prickle of a member of the Order. Was it Lenka come back for more? No, no, it wasn't strong. It was weak, like hers..

Aurora had stopped trying to cheer herself up just in time for her to hear a woman's voice. Someone she didn't know. She lowered her hands and turned her gaze slowly to the intruder.

A knight. Or.. what she thought was a knight. Aurora had never encountered one before. All she knew was that it wasn't a senshi and it felt like a bad guy. One of those bad guys she was supposed to hurt or something. She was fuzzy on the details.

"Uhm, nothing. Heya!" Aurora offered. "Nice night, huh..."

Nice Aurora could not stop being nice, no matter how hard she tried.

Aventine watched wit ha wary eye, not sure what to expect from the stranger in front of her. She still had the faintest sensation of spiders dancing on her skin. It was for appearances alone that she didn't frantically sweep her arms across herself and stomp around on the ground to try and shake off the phantom bugs still seemed to cling to her.

"Yeah," she replied suspiciously. "I guess it's not so bad."

Anella was not often one with grace or delicacy when it came to certain subjects, so it was with no reluctance that she asked, "What are you, anyway? You're different from what I've run into so far. I don't like that."

She could like her freedom, like her adventure, all she wanted, but Aventine did not like to be caught off guard or put into a situation where she was at an obvious disadvantage.

Not knowing who or what you were dealing with? Major disadvantage.

"What... am I? Ohhhhh, are you a newbie like I am?" Aurora asked, her tone extremely curious as she took a few steps approaching her. "And what are you? One of those knightly people? I haven't met one of those yet."

Oh wait. She hadn't exactly said what she was.

"My name's Sailor Aurora, and I'm a Dark Mirror senshi."

Lenka's words may be pounding in her head right now, but it didn't deter her from offering the knight girl a smile.

Aventine watched her suspiciously; she wasn't quite sure why she had such an unpleasant tingling rushing across her skin—like a nagging voice she couldn't just dispel at will.

"Dark Mirror Senshi?" she prompted; being her first time with one, she wasn't sure what to make of them sans they were bad people out to do bad things. "…I, ah. Yeah. I guess I'm one of those knightly people. Aventine, Page of Venus. Is there a reason everyone says to watch out for you, or like…what's up with that?" she asked, not sure how to word it. In her quick run down of the who's and what's of the world, she hadn't gotten a massively extensive source of information (but, then again, how easy was it to cram all that info into one short, already overwhelming crash course?).

"VEEENUUUUS? Goddess of love, that Venus?" Aurora just about squealed in delight. And despite any warnings about knights = bad, she hopped a few feet towards Aventine with a huge grin. "We're almost, like, totally related! I'm the goddess of romance!"

It took a few clicks before the question registered.

"But.. I dunno why. I guess because I take energy and you guys don't like that? I don't really know what a knight is either..." Aurora gave her new friend a quizzical look. "BUT I MEAN, I don't take that much energy. I don't kill anyone. That's not exactly nice, now is it."

Romance? That…kinda made sense. What with Aurora bounding all over here, excited-like—Aventine had originally worried that the Dark Mirror Senshi was trying to attack her. Thankfully she just wanted to gush about…being practically related?

…Boy, either these Dark Mirror Senshi were sorely misunderstood or really good at screwing with people. Either of which was totally possible in this situation.

"…I don't think stealing any energy is really nice," she said after a hesitant moment. "I mean, if you killed someone that would be just about unforgivable and I'd have to go to town on your a** if I ever caught you trying, but. Hey, what do you gather energy for, anyway?" he asked, tilting her head.

Aurora held up her hands defensively. "I promise! I won't kill anyone! I just take a veeeeery little bit at a time." She held up her thumb and her index finger, barely touching each other, as if it could show her just exactly how much energy she took from each of her victims. "They just feel a little sleepy when it's done."

She'd made a promise to Lenka that she wouldn't be a murderer, and she'd stay true to that promise. Not that.. she wanted to be a murderer anyway. Aurora shuddered before continuing.

"Uhm, well, I don't really know why the Negaversers do it, and... I guess I can't really say for why we do it either." She wasn't sure if she needed to keep that tight-lipped or not. Aventine wasn't a senshi she needed to convince to her side or anything... right?

While Aventine was temporarily reassured that Aurora claimed to only take a smidgeon of energy at a time, the latter half of her response left something to be desired. "Oh," she said after a brief moment. "Well. Why are you gathering energy if you don't know what for?"

She crossed her arms over her chest and tilted her head, seeming far from furious or resentful. On the contrary, she really just had no idea what the hell this energy was being used for. The concept was foreign—odd, even. Not unlike the rest of this war.

"I mean—I'm not trying to press your buttons or anything, but that seems like it could be a really messy business. Is it like…taking blood or something? Or just." It was obvious that Aventine couldn’t wrap her head around it. "—Why would you go out and suck out people's energy if you don't even know why you're doing it?"

"Oh. Ahahahahahaha." She played about with her hands, sometimes clenching her fists, sometimes wiggling her fingers, other times just swinging her arms. "I'm not from the Negaverse. They're different than us. They collect energy too, I just dunno for what or why."

Fidget, fidget, fidget. But still with a friendly smile and a nervous laugh.

"I mean, I know why we're doing it. I just can't tell you. And don't worry! You're not pressing my buttons. I don't get very angry often, and I guess this is all really new to both of us so it's not your fault." She paused, thinking over the other question Ave asked her. "Like taking blood? Uhm... not really. I guess.. I don't really know how to describe it. I've never been drained myself."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 29, 2012 11:05 pm

Aventine blinked, and then tilted her head as she pondered the situation. "Well. What if draining energy is…I mean, it sounds scary. Like a vampire or something. Or a ghost, sucking the life out of you. Seems really creepy. Oh!" she exclaimed, wrapping her arms around herself and shivering. "It sends shivers down my spine just thinking about it! If you don't know how it feels, how can you go around sapping people? What if it's like, super painful?"

She pursed her lips. "And why can't you tell me? Maybe if you guys had like, a good reason for sapping up energy or something, I would understand, but—uhh…like maybe the knights and other senshi and stuff wouldn't be giving you such a hard time? Because, they say you're the bad guys right now," and she was having a really hard time seeing it. "And I guess, you know. Maybe we wouldn't think you were the bad guys if we knew what you were trying to do?"

"Uhm...." She had to stop and think about that for a bit. "Well, they don't really, look like they're in pain when I do it. Like I said they just get a little sleepy if you only take a bit." Aurora paused. "I mean, I could try it on you if you wanna see what it's like! Not as an attack or anything. Just, so you know."

Aventine had a point with the other thing. Still, she didn't really know if she was allowed to say anything about it or not. And she wasn't about to give her the whole info -- or at least the info she knew.

But what could a little tidbit hurt?

"Once we get enough energy, I think, we of the dark mirror can stop bothering you guys once and for all. And you'll only have to worry about the Negaverse and whatever it is they're doing." Nod nod.

"Uhm. Yeah, I'd like to keep my energy and stuff, it's all the same to you." While Aurora hadn't given her any reason not to trust her, Aventine wasn't ready to fall into a trap—however well laid it might have been—so early in the game. "So—you just want to gather energy for a bit and then you're gonna stop bothering us?"

Damn, this was messing up everything she'd ever been taught. Apparently gathering energy didn't hurt, didn't cause any real harm, and so far as she could tell, the goal wasn't to take over the world. "…That sounds a little too good to be true, I hope you know. So tell me then, just a little more. Just between you and me. What do you guys…you know, what do you want all that energy for? I mean, it's gotta be something good, right? I just wanna know where it's going. If it's for a good cause—I dunno, I wouldn't mind just stepping back, letting you guys…" she shrugged. "I mean, if you're not that bad guys, who cares?"

She laughed that little nervous laugh of hers. "Yeah, it's okay. I thought I'd offer though." Aurora wasn't even sure if she could take the energy of knights or senshi or other Negaversers. Did magical girls and boys have their own kind of energy? That'd be something to ask Leto. "And yeah! I mean, it might take awhile, but eventually it'll be all done. Just don't know how LONG it takes..

"I dunno why we're bad guys. I mean, all we wanna do is go home."

Whoops. She blurted that out as she did so many other things.

"But the white moon senshi and you guys, I guess you don't want us to do that. I know that taking energy seems bad and everything, but we're only doing it a little at a time with each person so that they don't get hurt." Aurora sighed. "I really, really don't want to hurt anyone, y'know? I'm no bad guy."
