The Runaway Full Name: Stella Elizabeth Lark Nicknames: Stell, Stellar Age: Seventeen DOB: December 12th Height: 5' 6" Weight: 118 lbs. Hair: Dusty brown Eyes: Pale brown to a lighter brown Scars: Arms, back, torso, legs, chest Tattoos: None Piercings: Ears Personality: Patient, understanding, can have a short temper, fun loving, determined, stubborn, playful. Bio: Stella's parents divorced when she was three. Her father remained when she was five and her mother when she was seven. She and her brother staid at their father's on weekdays then at their mother's on weekends. Every weekend her step-father beats her and her mother has done nothing about it. Stella's gone through most of her life just making it seem like everything's alright, but now she'd fed up with it. x x x x x xThe Street Rat Full Name: Sephir Friagne Nicknames: Seph Age: Eighteen DOB: August 27 Height: 5' 9" Weight: 128 lbs. Hair: Brown Eyes: Light Grey Scars: None Tattoos: A small number, 38, on his right wrist Piercings: None Personality: Calm, friendly, intelligent, easy-going, street-smart, inquisitive and quick-witted Bio: Orphaned at an early age, Sephir was sent to the only orphanage within the city, a small violin the only thing left of his life previously. A harsh and unforgiving place, his 'orientation' into the place involved being given a number crudely tattooed onto his wrist and essentially hazed into obedience. Though life was unpleasant, Sephir did manage to hold long enough to flee the place at the age of fifteen. Seeking refuge in an abandoned building, the boy quickly adapted to living on the streets, performing with his only possession in order to make enough money to survive.

Stella snuck out of the house around eleven when her father and his husband were asleep. Her brother was in college thankfully, so she wouldn't be caught very easily. She climbed down the white latter like fence on the side of the house that was full of vines. At five feet she jumped down and landed on her feet with a light grunt. She walked put the backpack on and looked back at her house once last time. She sighed and headed to the train station. Once she got there she climbed into one of the open cargo holders and sat in a dark, empty corner. Once the train started to move she shifted over to the door and watched as everything past in a slight blur. She fell asleep after an hour only to wake up by the light that flooded into her eyes. She sat up and looked around at where the train had stopped. She hoped off and looked around. Stella wasn't sure where she was, but she had a feeling it was pretty far from home. She'd find out at some point. For now she just wanted to make it to her uncles house.
Stella started her two mile walk from there the train was in a mess of other trains to the town close by. When she got there she watched people walk around the streets busily. She felt so out of place, but the town was pretty big. She'd find a sign or something hopefully. Maybe she'd stay for a couple weeks, get a job to get some more money then head out. She walked the streets slowly as she looked in windows in search of a help wanted sign.
Felfordulas I'll get a format up in my next post.

Though it seemed as though nobody was paying attention to the newcomer of the town, one individual had spotted her almost immediately. Having lived these streets for just passing three years, it was very rare for the one watching her to see an unfamiliar face. The watcher in question was a boy, maybe only a little older than her at first glance. Even though he looked like he would stand out in a crowd - tattered clothing, strikingly calm grey eyes, worn out violin case in hand - not a single person glanced at him for more than a split second as they passed by him, as if he were just part of the background to the constantly moving town. On any other day, this boy would have immediately headed towards a bakery or some other food store at this time, buying what he could before heading to what he would call home, but today wasn't like any other day, because he had just seen a new face, one that looked far too out of place to ignore.
At first he stayed quite far behind, but without removing her from his sight, the boy was maybe fifteen feet away at most within a short time. Navigating around people was what he would call a talent of his, having to do so on as part of his everyday routine. Naturally, staying close enough to observe, yet far enough to remain inconspicuous, was no difficult task. The girl seemed lost, that much was evident right from the start, this was probably the first time she had been to this place. The way she looked through the windows of different stores told him that she was looking for something, but not specific enough to be in a particular store, possibly a person or a position of employment. He couldn't help but smirk lightly to himself, the boy had done the same thing on his first couple of days on these pathways. Though of course this didn't help anyone at all, he couldn't help but admit to himself that she was remarkably attractive. When it seemed as though she was close enough, he decided that the time for games was just about over. "You know, you might find what you're looking for faster if you ask around. Walking and staring will only get you so far." He said to her, his tone gentle, yet held a slight jest towards the girl.
{yeah, same here, though I'll have to leave it at this for tonight...I'll respond as soon as I can tomorrow, catcha later ^.^}

Not because there wasn't one damned "Help Wanted" sign in one damn window she had passed in the large town that was, in fact, nearly the size of the city she was from, but also the fact that she felt like she was being watched and followed. She tried to pass it off as people that were skeptical of her being there having never seen her before or just her imagination. Either way it wasn't helping her one bit and she was a bit upset. She took a deep breath and sighed as she stopped. She had fifty dollars on her for now, but that might not last too long. If she found somewhere to stay she would either have to pay or hunt down an empty and abandoned building. Plus she'd have to buy more food at some point. She had packed a couple sandwiches, some water and a few snacks. Her father was basically rich and he had three accounts Stella. One for college, one for when she was older and one for what she'd like to buy. The third one had five thousand or more in it, but she didn't want to use too much if any from it.
Stella jumped when she heard a voice from behind her. It had taken her from her thoughts and pulled her right back to reality without her wanting to come back. She turned to look at the owner of the voice, but met a pair of inhumanly pale gray eyes that almost pierced her pale brown-gray ones. She studied the boy for a short moment as she took in his features. Pale skin, he was slim with a normal build from the look of it, tattered clothes and a worn violin case, and his brown hair was a bit messy, too. Only one thing came to mind of what she could call him and it came from the movie Aladdin: street rat. "Well, it's not very polite to stare and follow people." she commented as she crossed her arms over her chest almost protectively. He had a point though. She wanted to know where she was and also who he was. "Where are we? What town?" Stella asked in a more casual and polite tone. She wasn't sure how long she had slept for, so as far as she knew she could be half way around the world although she figured she would have woken up if something like that were to happen. x x

ᵴephir Ӂ Ӻriagne {Street Rat / Violin Extraodinaire} "Dance with me amongst the strings, Where our burdens are lifted by song. Fear not the judgement of passers by, For they do not understand the joy of our melody." Though he did not normally take enjoyment out of scaring others, the boy couldn't help but smirk lightly in amusement as the girl jumped, perhaps he had been too quick to interact. When she turned around, his eyebrow raised slighty as their gazes interlocked with one another for a brief moment, he held his breath for a split second. Those soft brown eyes had caught him off guard, within an instant he could see burden in her that had been carried by many, he was not expecting such a thing. Before had gotten too drawn into a stare, he chuckled lightly as she commented on his behaviour, he feigned a look of shock. "Me? Stare and follow? You must be mistaken, I was just keeping an eye on things, these streets are never one hundred percent safe you know." He said light-heartedly, knowing that 'keeping an eye on things' pretty much meant the same as 'staring and following'. When she spoke once again, the boy reached up with his free hand and stroked his chin in thought, his other hand still idly dangling by his side, violin case still in tow. "You know, in the countless years that I've spent here, I never did learn the name of this place. I've simply just known it as Home." He said, adding a small shrug and letting his hand drop back to his side.
In the brief silence that followed, a thought occurred to the boy that made him blink, raising his hand once more but to rub the back of his head sheepishly this time. "I may not have learned the name ofthis place, but I can't be forgetting that I learned some form of manners. My name is Sephir, or Seph for short." He told her, bowing his head for just a moment in greeting. Naturally, actually introducing himself to someone was uncommon for Sephir, but it wasn't like it was impossibly difficult. "I know this is a little forward in saying so, but if you're lost or looking for something, you couldn't have run into a better person." He said cheerfully.

She couldn't help but to look at him. He was handsome even though no one seemed to pay him any mind. They seemed to catch some stares from people mainly around their age, but she could ignore it. Home? That didn't help her very much at all. She glanced around for a sign of some sort, but found nothing except for store names and other such things. She sighed and turned her eyes backed to the boy as he introduced himself. She has never heard of the name Sephir before, but Stella was probably rare as well. She sighed a bit disappointed that she didn't know where she was and how far she was from home or her uncles. She really needed to get a job around here though to figure out where she was.
"I'm Stella." she said with a slight smile when he acted a bit sheepish then bowed his head. It was cute to say the least. "Well...I guess you could help me. I'm lost and running away so..." she mumbled as he voice got softer while she talked to the point it couldn't really be heard. She looked at the ground before she looked back at Sephir. "Run into? As I recall you came right up to me." she said with an eyebrow raised, a slight smirk and her arms crossed. x xFelfordulas It's fine. I'm going to sleep soon actually.

ᵴephir Ӂ Ӻriagne {Street Rat / Violin Extraodinaire} "Dance with me amongst the strings, Where our burdens are lifted by song. Fear not the judgement of passers by, For they do not understand the joy of our melody." Sephir tilted his head just a little, the name Stella wasn't exactly one people came across often. In the back of his mind, Seph couldn't help but think the name suited her, plus it was an easy enough one to remember. "It's nice to meet you, Stella." He told her. When she accepted his help, he smiled initially, but it faded just a bit as she continued on to say she was running away. If this was some kind of movie, this would be the part when he asked why she ran away, who or what she was running from and so on. Sephir, however, had enough experience to know that these were questions better left unasked occaisionally. By the way she looked away, he figured that this was one of those times. "Everyone runs away from something at least once in their life...the only question is when they stop...am I still running?" He thought to himself. Being pulled back out of his thoughts by Stella's remark, he chuckled just a bit in response and gave yet another shrug. "Run into, approached by...either way we're talking now, right?" He responded.
For a moment, Sephir had to think about how he could actually help out, given that he did say that he was the man for the job. Looking up to the sky, the gentle blue mostly hidden by overcast greys, a few questions did come to mind. "Well...assuming you genuinely need my help, I'll need to know a few things. One, where you're headed and how you intend to get there. Two, how long you plan on staying here. Three, assuming two is an extended period, what do you need to do in the meantime?" He asked, looking back to Stella. Though Sephir normally stayed out of the business of others, Stella really did seem to need some help and he couldn't assist her without as much detail as he could. The most important thing from his perspective was the duration of her stay here. Given the other types of people that wandered the streets at night and such, he was somewhat relieved that he had found her first, but how long would it be until someone else discovered her presence? It was barely a few minutes into knowing one another and already Sephir confirmed in his mind that she was indeed a very cute individual, if just a little defensive, though he couldn't blame her for that. With that in mind, he was certain that, the longer she stayed, the more attention she would gain from company much less pleasant than himself.
{that's fine, I'd rather you not cut into your sleep for my sake anyway ^.^}"The heart never gives in to silence, nor shall we as we dance under the stars. Never let the melody fade, As it is we who conduct this masterpiece."

She was glad he didn't ask any questions. They had just met, so it wouldn't be the most comfortable thing to tell him at this point. She wouldn't mind getting to know the boy better though. He seemed nice enough and wasn't beating around the bush at all in her opinion. "I suppose." she said with a light laugh. She would have said something about him basically stalking her before he approached her, but she held that back to save it for another time when it would be more useful. Her pale brown eyes glanced slightly at the few people that stopped to look at them--mostly Stella--before they continued on their way. She really did stand out here which might have been a problem.
"Well...one, I am heading east to my uncles for a while. Two, I'm not sure how long I'd like to stay, but long enough to get a good amount of money saved. Three, I need to find a place to stay, get a job and...blend in. I stand out like a white lily in a bouquet of red roses." It was a strange metaphor, but she did like it mainly because she liked both flowers. "And maybe...we could go somewhere that I'm not constantly being stared at?" Stella asked with an almost pleading look in her eyes when they settled on Sephir's pale face. She felt a bit uneasy in the open for a number of reasons now other than the fact that people were staring at the strange girl with the street rat. x xFelfordulas It's alight (: I'll try to reply once more, but if I fall asleep I'm sorry

ᵴephir Ӂ Ӻriagne {Street Rat / Violin Extraodinaire} "Dance with me amongst the strings, Where our burdens are lifted by song. Fear not the judgement of passers by, For they do not understand the joy of our melody." Sephir nodded as Stella answered his questions, it wouldn't be hard to remember her objectives given that his memory was one of the few things he had. "Well, I guess depending on which way you came from, you'd be heading in the right direction at least, there aren't a whole lot of of towns or cities left after this one going east." He said, though only vaguely aware of the surrounding civilisations. When the subject of a job arose, Seph couldn't help but scoff a short laugh. "Let me tell you about how getting a 'job' works around here Stella." He said, taking a quick glance around at the surrounding stores and buildings. "There are three types of jobs around this place. First, there's the jobs which require you to have a pretty unreasonable amount of experience. Given that I'd say you're not much older than me, if at all, you won't have enough to get those sorts of jobs. Second..." He said, having to hesitate when it came to the next set, details would have to be mostly put aside. "There's the jobs that nobody should have. I'm talking about jobs that not only put you on the bottom standard of society, but they won't pay enough to feed a mouth for a day." He explained, hoping with every fibre of his being that he wouldn't have to go into any more detail than that. "Finally, there's what I do." He said, lightly nudging the violin case with his closest knee. "To earn enough to live without without having decades of experience and some fancy university degree...and still keep an acceptable amount of dignity...you've gotta rely on the fact that people love being entertained." He explained. In short, Sephir was saying that, to reach that goal of a decent amount of money saved up, she would have to be a sort of street performer, much like he was. With that said, one needed to have a talent worthy of charity to do well in this city, Sephir was one of the few that actually had it okay so far.
As his focus shifted back to what Stella had been saying, he couldn't help but agree with her metaphor, it wasn't hard spotting her. With a moment of thought and a small thought later, Sephir jerked his head towards the street. "I know a place that's not too populated around this time...but you'll have to stay close, street traffic does tend to bunch up near this time." He said, starting to make his way down the pathway. Pausing for just a moment, he turned his head to the side so he could see Stella from the corner of his eye, he smirked just a little. "That is, if you're willing to follow this stranger to a location you don't even know of yet." He said, his tona an almost cheerful dare. It was never in his nature to harm someone else unless they gave him a good reason to, but it was in his nature to test the boundaries of his teasing and innocent jests every now and then."The heart never gives in to silence, nor shall we as we dance under the stars. Never let the melody fade, As it is we who conduct this masterpiece."

She listened to him explain the jobs and she held back a groan of annoyance. "I was thinking more along the lines of a restaurant waitress..." she muttered, now that any hope of that was ripped into little pieces that blew away in the wind. Street performer? she thought as she raised an eyebrow at Sephir. She could sing, dance, and play a couple instruments, but other than that she wasn't really sure what else she could do. Maybe she should have went west instead of east. The long way might have been a much better way to go and a better place to get a decent job. At least she had met someone that was helpful in the city. It didn't seem that bad, but then again it was still daylight.
Stella watched Sephir walk off in the direction of the large crowd made up of people that bustled about the city in a hurry. She gulped a little since she didn't like big crowed; they made her claustrophobic. She couldn't help but to smile and roll her eyes at Sephir's jest. She walked over to him and grabbed his free hand with her own. It was the one of the only ways to assure she wouldn't lose the boy in the crowd. She wouldn't dare let go of his hand unless someone forced her to. "Do you have a plan for me to blend in as well?" she questioned the boy as she looked around the crowed. He seemed to have a plan for almost everything so far which helped her a lot. If she had to change her appearance a bit that was fine by her. If people came through looking for her then they might not recognize who she was based off a picture. x x

Fear not the judgement of passers by, For they do not understand the joy of our melody." Sephir couldn't help but smirk lightly when Stella muttered. "It's been months since any waitress positions were made available and, from what I hear, it'll be many more months before there'd be an opening." He didn't quite have the heart to tell her that the job she was thinking about was somewhere in the middle of the first two categories: the pay was attractive, especially to someone with a current income of zero, but the way the waitresses were treated from what Seph had seen, by both customers and employers, those who stayed were only desperate for the cash. As he walked, Sephir couldn't quite figure out whether or not she had followed, until the answer was given in a way he didn't expect. Feeling something slip into his hand, the texture of skin undeniable, he looked to Stella and simply smiled warmly before focusing back onto the goal at hand, figuring that it was just so she wouldn't stray too far behind. Weaving through the crowds with practiced skill, neither of them had to stop walking because someone was in the way. Upon hearing Stella's question, Sephir gave a small shrug. "No offense, but I'm going to have to be blunt...you're way too dressed up to be wandering around Home." He told her, gesturing around at the people nearby. "If you're not in business-wear, barely decent clothing or old enough to have grey hairs, you'll stand out like, as you said, like a white lily amongst red roses. We'll sort that out when the time comes, but we'll leave the details until we're out of the crowds." He explained. Though his own attire was probably slightly just above the average for people their age, Sephir somehow managed to fade in and out of the background, like an extra in a movie most times. As they turned a corner, something caught Sephir's vision that made him smile, nodding forwards to tell her to look too. "We're here...over there."
The place Sephir had in mind couldn't have been more different than the dull, mostly grey city he called Home. It was a circular park, though a very simple one, maybe around one hundred feet from the edge to the center. The center housed a small water fountain, made of a stone that probably once gleamed a dazzling white when it was first made, now slightly faded, a few small patches of moss here and there. The grass was surprisingly thriving quite well, the plants that lined the outer edge and pathways were doing just as nicely. "I'm still surprised that it's not a popular place to be." Sephir said, letting out an airy sigh. "Most days I come here, it's just me...looks like it'll be just us this time." He added, gently pulling her along. Before long, the two were at the fountain, the water flow delicately trickling down the sides into a small pool at its' base. Letting go of Stella's hand, he set down the violin case and sat on the thick rim of the fountain, lightly patting the spot next to him and offering another friendly smile. "I promise I won't bite." He said light-heartedly."The heart never gives in to silence, nor shall we as we dance under the stars. Never let the melody fade, As it is we who conduct this masterpiece."

If she had to entertain people on the street then so be it. She smiled back Sephir then focused as she moved with him as she tried to keep up with how swift and quick he was as he weaved in and out of people flawlessly. Dressed up? she that as glanced down at when she wore then glanced at what others wore as they passed them. He was right about her being more dressy than everyone else they passed. She'd have to either adjust her outfit in some way so she's fit in. She could remove the black lace and buckles from the shirt, ripped the bottom a bit so it wasn't as long, adjust the skirt and the leggings and...well she loved her boots too much to ruin them. Maybe adjust the buttons with different ones and the shoe laces. That or just find something different all together. She started to run other things through her head of what she could do to alter her appearance until Sephir's voice cut through her thoughts. She looked at the boy before she looked at what was in front of her.
Stella had to agree with him about how the place wasn't as popular. It was beautiful even if the fountain wasn't completely cleaned up. She smiled at she looked around at the park. It was small park, but it was beautiful. She let her hand slip from Sephir as she slowly turned in a circle to get a better view. Just the two of them and a place like this? It really wasn't very popular. She wasn't sure where they were suppose to sleep or take shelter if it were to rain or storm though. Sephir probably had that planned out already. She looked over at him when he promised not to bite. She smiled a bit at him and shook her head. She slipped the straps of her backpack off and set it against the fountain. She sat down on the thick rim of the fountain next to Sephir. "You'll have to answer all my questions now plus a couple more." she told him with a warm smile. So far she kind of liked it here mainly because Sephir was so nice well he was so far. x x

Fear not the judgement of passers by, For they do not understand the joy of our melody." Sephir smiled lightly as Stella sat down before turning his attention to the sky once she spoke. "That seems fair. You answered my questions earlier...and I guess I did say that I'm willing to help." He said, looking back to her and offering another friendly smile. He couldn't help but chuckle lightly in his thoughts, he wasn't sure how often he would be so open to someone else. Most people simply got vague, almost riddle-like answers from him on a good day, on a bad one he would simply say he didn't know the answer. Something about Stella made him feel like he could trust her not to use any help he gave against him. "Don't kid yourself, Seph." His thoughts told him. "You know exactly why you're not playing mind games." They added, he knew the two reasons very clearly. Firstly, it was those eyes of Stella's, there was an intelligence behind them that he hadn't seen in a long time. That created the simple fact that he just wouldn't be able to lie to her, she was just too smart to know when he had a straight answer. Secondly, even though she was smart enough to be somewhat defensive around him when they first interacted with one another, there was an air of innocence about her that had very muched taken him off guard. Given what he had been through, Sephir had rarely, if ever at all, seen someone act as kindly to him as she had in the mere minutes of the two knowing each other. Yes, people did give him money for his performances, but that was more out of social expectation rather than actually caring that he needed the money or truly appreciating his music, offering him a kindness of the simplest nature. For that, Stella had already gained his respect, so he did feel the need to return the favor. "Whatever questions you have, I'll try my best to answer."

"What am I suppose to do or wear to make me blend in?" she asked as she looked down at her clothes. "I'll change everything, but the boots." she stated and looked up at Sephir. "Is there anywhere to take shelter if it rains or something?" As far as Stella could see there wasn't much of anything other than a park unless there was some hidden little building or something. So far the boy had been full of a couple surprises and she expected a few more. Her eyes shifted to the fountain then back at Sephir. "And...could you just...help me get use to all this?" her tone was a bit unsure as she asked the question. What exactly was all this? What do they eat, where do they sleep, where do they go if it rains or storm, where do they bathe, do they even get to brush their teeth? She couldn't just bombard him with all those questions and expect a simple answer. If he showed her the ropes then the questions would pop up gradually and not all at once like they jut had in her mind. She'd have a hard time wrapping her head around everything and she was sure of that, but she'd have to if it meant she'd get enough money to leave, but . . . would she want to leave? She mentally shook her head and scolded herself. What could possibly keep her here? Her eyes shifted over to Sephir as if to answer her question. No, that won't happen, she thought in an attempt to assure herself. I will not fall for him or anyone here. No. x xFelfordulas It's fine (: I've been busy with homework this week, so I'm sorry for the late reply.
