Theme: Sakura Mentos
Unfortunately, within Konoha's long, long chapters of history, there was a time when the village was completely devoid of Uchiha residents. A hollow skeleton of a ghost town that was heavily neglected and left to collect dust. Countless times, the council had discussed amongst themselves whether to demolish the compound to make room for the construction of facilities beneficial to the village... or to leave the compound as it is, as a means of preserving the remnants of an era coming to a close. In the end, the Uchiha clan and their position in Konoha revitalized, and, as if to reflect this, they revamped their compound.
The compound would undergo another revamp when Shirayuki Shinichi unexpectedly took the helm of clan leadership and enlisted the help of the Senju in the reconstruction. To the newer generation of Konoha, it may seem like an action done to strengthen Senju-Uchiha relations. But those who've been around longer and know better, will know that Shinichi had demonstrated his new authority just to show that he can, and to boil his relatives' blood pressures at the same time.
The compound sits to west, near the village's training grounds and dormant volcano, and is designed to be a mixture of Japanese and Western architecture. Modern utilities such as electricity, plumbing, and air conditioning are implemented, though some of the more old-fashioned Uchiha may prefer to use torch light.
Compound Layout
Entrance:
The spirit of enforcement is still alive in this current incarnation of Uchiha, and so the doors to their compound are always open 24 hours for any villager or shinobi who wishes to report crimes or make a complaint. Near the compound entrance, there is a kouban (police box) where there are enforcement officers ready at hand to lend assistance. For those who wish to go deeper into the compound, visitors are to check in their name, their purpose for visiting, and provide their ID.
Kouban (交番):
Throughout the compound, there are kouban placed. 2-3 members of the Uchiha Police force are assigned per kouban (the one at the compound entrance has 6). Generally, their duties are to give out directions and maps, taking in reports of lost and found items, and reacting accordingly to crime reports (theft, assault, kidnapping, etc.) These kouban are blue and white in color and have an Uchiha fan adorned at the top.
Uchiha Police Department:
The center for any Uchiha law enforcement activity; it is built near the Uchiha housing complexes. Here, visitors are inspected for weapons and are to check them in. The department building consists of several office rooms where paper work is processed, a detention center for suspects and criminals under arrest, interrogation rooms for those who do not fall under the protections of Konoha's laws (becoming increasingly active and heavily guarded as these times of conflict proceed), forensics labs, and evidence rooms. The detention center is designed mainly for holding civilians. Shinobi that need to be detained will be handled by the Hokage's units/facilities.
Main Compound:
To keep up with clan traditions, the architecture of the main compound is purely Japanese. The main family used to be the sole occupants to the main compound, but after several tragedies, many branch families have moved in. Among them are the clan head's adoptive family. There are two wings to the main compound. The east wing is for the clan head and clan elders, while the west wing is for branch families and the servants. They meet up to an extravagantly large dining hall, where both sides may sit down and eat together. Watching over them all, is a ceiling mural of Amaterasu.
Main Compound Gardens:
 
It's not as impressive as the gardens in the Senju or the Hyuuga estates, but the flowers and trees are cared for by the servants. Sunflowers, poppies, and chrysanthemums are most common here. The clan head hasn't grown out of his terrible taste in decor, as reflected in the fountain that was imported from Kiri. At the center of the stone fountain is a statue of a half-naked man with an open-mouthed fish head. His arms are raised into the air to make a y-shape, as water pours out from his mouth and into the fountain. The clan elders unanimously agree that the thing is hideous, but the clan head claims it's 'very postmodern with a dash of avant-garde'.
Aquarium:
The clan head keeps his own private aquarium within the confines of his room. Among his vast collection of fish obtain from Kiri, are several manatees. There are several generations of manatees, but he calls them all 'Manny'. Taped to the glass windows are pictures of deceased family members he was close to, pictures of his current foster family, Team Shoichi, and drafts of previous plots against the Juugodaime that he's come up with over the years of their rivalry.
Branch Compound:
This compound is actually a skeleton of the original main Uchiha compound, barely changed from Uzumaki Naruto's era. While walls, windows, and tatami mats have been replaced over the years, the layout of the compound remains mostly unchanged. When the branch families moved into the main compound, the branch compound's function shifted to that of something akin to a museum.
Several rooms are dedicated solely to preserving the clan's history; displaying portraits of significant ancestors, and the ancient armors and swords their forefathers bore. Of course, it is given within any human history, lies the ugly blood-stained secrets.
The stone tablet detailing the nature of the mangekyo sharingan is one of them. The clan head had been pushing for the tablet to be demolished, with the rest of the clan elders in fierce opposition to such a decision. In the end, the tablet continues to be kept in the basement floor of the compound. However, some time later, it was mysteriously graffiti'd with green and purple paint, and smeared over with cow fertilizer. To even read the tablet, one will have to clean up the mess and make the words legible again.

Of course, to even get to that point, one must have the explicit permission of the clan head or the clan elders. Otherwise, sneaking over to the stone tablet involves overcoming the traps that the clan head has installed as a means of security.

Library:
The library is maintained in the main compound. Where historical relics are kept on the branch compound, the historical records are kept in the library. Along with these records are scrolls of clan jutsu and jutsu copied off of other shinobi. For anyone who wishes to read about nonshinobi-related subjects, they will have to head over to the Konoha Library. Access to the library is strictly contained to Uchiha shinobi, unless granted explicit permission by the clan head or clan elders.
Burial Grounds:
Located between the branch compound and the main compound, and the area is larger than both compounds combined. The Uchiha practice the cremation of their dead. The gravestones are kept at the burial grounds, while portraits of the deceased may be kept in the households, at the family altars.
Guest Housing:
Basically, a very large and extravagant multi-story ryokan for guests to stay for free. Guests are given yukata with the Uchiha fan adorned on them, that can be worn inside and outside the ryokan. The number of occupants per room may range from 1-4 people. In each room is a balcony that provides an excellent view of the mountains nearby. Guests may pass the time here with ping pong, pool, karaoke, or bathing in the ofuro. As for food, the clan head has appointed his foster brother, Kitajima Shoichi as one of the main chefs.
Hot Springs:
There's also the option of the hot springs nearby. Since the compound exists near a dormant volcano, the Uchiha have their own privatized hot springs. While there are not as many hot springs, nor as elaborate as the ones that are open to the Konoha public... because they aren't as populated, those wishing to relax in the midst of a vacation or couples enjoying their honeymoon will often come here.
They are gender segregated. And, due to a series of incidents in the past involving a certain Uchiha clan head, the barrier between genders have gotten more and more strictly enforced. Anyone, of any gender, of any status, caught peeping in on the side of the opposite gender will undergo severe, unspeakable punishment.
Dojos:
The Uchiha boasts a variety of kenjutsu arts, many of them copied via Sharingan from the enemies they've faced over the years. For each school of swordsmanship, there is a dojo and a master. And to perpetuate the Uchiha spirit of competition and the drive for self-improvement, one may usurp the title of master by challenging the current master to a duel. There is a clan law that strictly prohibits the usage of jutsu within the dojos, especially fire jutsu. As the Uchiha clan does not enjoy the luxury mokuten provides, and the dojos are made of wood, repairing damages rakes up hefty bills.
Training Grounds:
Built near the armory and the hot springs. While the dojos are for kenjutsu practice, over in the training grounds Uchiha may come to build their chakra levels, master jutsu, and hone their accuracy with ranged weapons. The clan head has slowly started the morbid tradition of using (stolen) wooden statues of the Juugodaime as dummies for kunai practice. He will reward any shinobi who can nail any of the Juugodaime statues in their private parts or their faces, 5 ryo per kunai (rolling a 20). A few Uchiha have followed their clan head's example in inventing derivatives of this practice: taping pictures of rivals or enemies to the faces of dummies and launching attacks on them. It's apparently a very good motivator for training.
Uchiha Village:
 
Most of the nonshinobi Uchiha population, and simply shinobi or nonshinobi who have married into the clan, are concentrated here. Common means of income includes weavework, pottery, metalwork, and cooking. The last three are the most popular, as they have the convenience of chakra-made fires. There's also the trade of making forgeries (made possible via Sharingan).
Armory:
A large portion of the armory is dedicated a variety of ranged weapons such as kunai, shiruken, and fuuma shiruken. The other portion stores the finest swords: katana, nodachi, ninja to, etc. After all, the Uchiha are not just famous for the sharingan or their fire-based jutsu, but also their mastery of ranged weapons and kenjutsu.
Aviary
This is where Uchiha breed and house their hawks. These hawks may act as familiars for shinobi, messenger birds, and, for the larger hawks, aerial transportation.
The Love Shack - Owned by Shirayuki Shinichi
"If there's anything the world needs more of, it's Love." An Uchiha souvenir store that the latest clan head set up. They sell Uchiha t-shirts, Uchiha coffee mugs, Uchiha hair products, chocolates, creme that is rumored to slow aging (it doesn't work), and a gag mirror that, instead of showing one's reflection, will show Shirayuki Shinichi's mask. On days when the clan head is feeling mischievous, the store will put Hyuuga or Senju related merchandise up for sale. This store also boasts of top-notch counseling services to any Uchiha who is undergoing rough patches (generally girl problems) in the matters of the heart - hence the peculiar name 'Love Shack'.
Golden Statues
Currently, there are two statues, both identical. And they are of Uchiha Keiji in his prime; dressed in formal clan wear and arrogantly smirking while pointing his fan. One sits in the entry hall of the main compound, jabbing at the portraits of the clan heads that came before him. The other is in the center of the Uchiha compound, pointing to the direction of the Senju Compound. It's almost twice as big as the real thing and three times as fabulous and grandiose. Shirayuki Shinichi commissioned a Senju to transmute the gold and craft the statues.
Amaterasu:
"The one who shines in the heavens" and the goddess of the sun who is the object of reverence for the Uchiha. She is also the inspiration for a certain Mangekyo Sharingan derived jutsu. Amaterasu was born when father, Izanagi, cleaned his face after his failed venture into Yomi to revive his wife. Amaterasu came into this world when Izanagi washed his left eye, Tsukuyomi from his right eye, and Susano-o from his nose. As the mirror is very significant to Amaterasu in Japanese folklore, a circular bronze mirror has become commonplace in many Uchiha households.
Leadership
Currently, the sole remainder of the main branch, Uchiha Akeru, has decided to distance himself from clan politics. Thus, the reign of leadership falls to the current Heir of the Sharingan: Shirayuki Shinichi.
Dress:
 
 
While the trademark turtleneck is a common staple of Uchiha wear, their wardrobes will also consist of anything that can cover their necks, such as scarves and mufflers. Belts and cloth sashes are also commonly worn by Uchiha shinobi as a means of carrying their swords.
Clan formal wear is traditional Japanese clothing, though non-shinobi may also wear kimonos and yukata. Clothing for adults and shinobi consists of subdued colors, such as brown, gray, black, white, and blue, with very little ornaments or patterns (the Uchiha fan being an exception). Brighter colors such as yellow or orange are considered suitable for weary by children and young women.

MHp: 10/10 Rinkou wandered on through the compound to find out if there was anyone around that she could talk to about Archery. She had been pondering if it was of any use to train in Archery. She had interest in Taijutsu, but swords and other close quarter weapons were of no real interest. She was in need of skills for long distance battle. So she find a master to teach her the basics of what she needed to know in order to then train herself when she wanted to do so.She walked past the golden statues, which she rarely looked at now, due to being so used to them. She made her way to the dojo, where she expected someone to be there.

Sakura, glad that the day was finally over, waved to her new friends and told them all goodbye. It had been a fun but tiring day and Yuki wanted to get some rest at home before she did anything else. She had forgotten to ask if Rinkou wanted to go with her, but as she was alone, she slowly took her time going back through the familiar roads. It was a little empty though, and the few people who actually were out hurridly rushed by, minding their own work and avoiding each other's gazes most of the time. The war had taken a toll on everyone, it seemed.
Now speeding up a little as Yuki approached the entrance, she waved to the guards, who waved back, knowing her from her painfully obvious pink hair.
"Yuki-chan! How was your first day of the Academy?"
"Ohayou! It was great, I loved it!" she yelled as she ran up to him and flashed her ID before waving and running deeper in, over to the Main Compound. Sliding open the door to her home, she skipped inside and ran over to her room, searching for something. Brightening as she found the note innocently lying on her desk, she read through. Neatly penned in okka-san's handwork was the note saying that she'd be back early today, and that there was some onigiri in the kitchen to eat if she was hungry. But what really made her grin was the little scrawl underneith, where otou-san had hurridly scribbled a 'good luck'. She never saw him often nowadays, with him being away most of the time, but things like this was a nice reminder that he was still there, and loved her no matter what. Tucking in the note inside the pages of a book filled with other notes, Yuki straightened up and walked back out of her room, silently clicking the lights off before sliding the door closed again.
No one was home since both her parents were away and busy with work, but there were a couple things she had to check up on anyway. Running up to the refrigerator and grabbing the onigiri box, Sakura rushed over to the library, determined to read up on some of the material about Genjutsu. They had a huge library stacked with information, and she was sure that there had to be some sort of information about it, especially since that was what her clan was famous for. Gathering some empty scrolls and something to write with, Sakura rushed over to start studying up.

Flashing her ID again, Sakura gained entrance to the library in her compound, where she slowed down, looking around at the monstrous amount of books covering the shelves. Sakura didn't know where to begin, but she started looking through anyway, from the historical texts to the top shelves filled with strange titles. A little bit of searching soon led her to the copied jutsus that had been aquired over the years by Sharingan user who had copied them and written them down for others to use later on. She didn't have enough chakra to pull off any fancy jutsu yet, but soon she would be here again, looking through and practicing them.
Grinning, she sifted through the books until she found a quite worn-out looking scroll that looked like it was what she had been looking for. 'Manipulation Of A Mind', it read, and Sakura pulled it out, rolling it closed again. The parchment was slightly yellow with age, and smooth from the many hands it had passed by, offering its help to those who searched for it. Carefully opening it, Yuki started reading from the top to see what it had to offer, while going over to a desk and sitting down, interested to see what it had to say."Genjutsu (幻術, Literally meaning "Illusionary Techniques") are techniques that are employed in the same fashion as ninjutsu, requiring chakra and hand seals. However, the primary difference between the two is that the effects of genjutsu are illusory; instead of attacking the victim's body, genjutsu techniques manipulate the flow of chakra in the victim's brain, thus causing a disruption in their senses.
This is often used to create false images or to cause pain from trauma (because the body is led to believe it is in pain); however, there are plenty of other uses depending on the situation. They are not used as often as ninjutsu because they don't physically harm the opponent, but several characters have made themselves well-known for their great prowess with genjutsu and build their fighting styles around."'Souka...' Sakura half-whispered to herself as she read on. It was an amazing thing, to know that such usage of chakra was possible. Now that she had been given a discription of what genjutsu was, she got a blank scroll and copied it down for future reference.
Come to think of it, a lot of her clan members were known for their ninjutsu, and less for their genjutsu. But people never really wanted to fight genjutsu masters for some reason. perhaps it had to do with the fact that it 'wasn't playing fair'? But then, if she had wanted to play fair, she would have become a samurai, not a ninja. Shrugging, Sakura read on, eager to know what more was in store.

Reading onwards, Yuki found more information listed below on the parchment.
"Genjutsu is created when a ninja extends their chakra flow through the cerebral nervous system of their opponent to control their mind's chakra, thereby affecting their five senses. Those with special abilities like the Uchiha clan's Sharingan or with high intelligence have an easier time executing and countering genjutsu, as attention to detail is key. Those under the influence of genjutsu either freeze in place or lose consciousness, depending on how capable they are in recognizing and defending against it.
Genjutsu attacks usually require a lot of skill, and, if performed incorrectly, will not work. Genjutsu is most often used by ninja with very precise chakra control and very high intelligence.
Because genjutsu effects activity throughout the Prosencephalon structure of the brain, humans, dogs and other species of mammal are therefore all affected by genjutsu; however, lower life forms, like insects, lack such a structure to their brains, and so do not even notice it.
Genjutsu is a subtle and some say the most dangerous shinobi art. It takes a great amount of skill to use genjutsu; however, it doesn't take much chakra at all."Yuki perked up at the mentioning of her clan and their bloodline. It was cool to think that she could possibly awaken that power some day, although she had already decided it wouldn't matter if she never was able to awaken it at all. After all, only a handful out of the remaining Uchiha members were able to do so, and even fewer who could utilize it correctly to it's fullest potential. She had also heard okka-san complaining about the strain it had to their vision and accompanying side-effects to her otou-san as she tried to heal some of the pain away when they both could. Blurring vision, acute pain, chronic headaches, and the drastic loss of chakra was one of the major things that could come from too much usage of their precious dōjutsu. There was even a rumor that because of their enhanced eyesight, the Sharingan users and Byakugan users went slightly deaf because the five senses tried to balence themselves out, making them lose a portion of another ability as the human body tried to find its equilibrium. When she really thought about it, she really had to wonder how they stood being a one-man-polyclinic, and whether it was actually worth it. She guessed it had to do with pride in that they were able to awaken it in the first place as well as the usefulness and other things, but... still.
Shaking her head, she skimmed on, focusing on the rest of the material, jotting down notes for main points that seemed important to write down and memorize. It had done well in explaining for their usage and method of usage and it's workings. She would have to keep that in mind when she was practicing for genjutsu techniques later, whether she was casting it, or on the receiving side. She no some doubts about the true effectiveness of genjutsu, as there were many many people in the past known for their efficiency and prowress in the battlefield with their use of genjutsu. She was sure it would be listed somewhere in the scroll too, but just off the top of her head she could name a few. The Uchiha Itachi, Nidaime Mizukage, and Yūhi Kurenai. Even the famous eseinin Haruno Sakura was sometimes mentioned for her ability to sense genjutsu, although she never had anything but her own skills and amazing chakra control.
It said that it was hard to use, and Sakura was confused. If such famous people were known for their genjutsu, why didn't people train more often for this? Undaunted by the amount of information she had in the library, Sakura rolled up the parchment and placed it bck where she had found it, and started searching for another one. This one had given her the basics, but now she wanted more information, and the different techniques as well later on, just to see what effects they had. Shifting through the different scrolls and books, Sakura found an interestingly shaped one, which she pulled out. It was a thick black scroll, marked with a special Fūin that seemed to be unactive. An 8 year old's curiosity had to perk up at this point of course, and Yuki slowly and carefully unfurled the scroll. Meticulously, little by little, she opened it up to see.... nothing.
Nothing. Nada. Zip. Empty. 'How.. what in the...'
Sakura, slightly alarmed, rolled it up and unfurled it again twice over, only to be faced with the same blank parchment every single time."It won't work for you yet, hime." said a gentle voice from behind. Sakura turned around and saw a familiar face.
"Baa-sama! It's been a long time. But, what do you mean by that?" she asked, as she gave the scroll to the woman and placed it in her waiting hands. This was the lady that took care of the books, and Sakura had come here quite often to ask her to choose some reading materials for her. Smiling, the elder woman patiently explained."Well, this scroll's contents can only be read by activating this seal you see. Perhaps you'll be able to unseal it and read it's contents some other time, hm? But not today, I'm afraid."she said as she pat Yuki's head. "If you're looking for genjutsu related readings, you'll do better going over in that section over there, child. I'll go put this back where it was supposed to be, hm? If you see any of these lying around elsewhere, do hand them to me, alright? Navigating her way across to the section that baa-sama had pointed out, Sakura walked over and started searching again, finding good materials that would keep her satisfied for quite a while. What she didn't know was that this place was the child's section for Academy students like her. Baa-sama had been considerate and even arranged a couple of sofas and desks, as well as cushions to keep comfortable. She had never been in this place before, but it seemed very comfortable. Bouncing around in the sofa and cuddling the cute plushies and cushions, Sakura relaxed. She never knew that the library was this great a place to be. But then, she hadn't come in this deep into the building before, only taking them from baa-sama's hands and returning them for another stack to take home.
Looking at the shelves, Sakura found quite a few books, and she took a couple off the shelves that seemed interesting. Lugging them over to a sofa in the corner and placing them on the floor next to it, Yuki sat down and looked at them, sifting through to see what it said. One interesting one was a book titled "Heaven's Eye", and Yuki had to wonder what that meant. Opening the book, she read the first couple lines."The Sharingan (写輪眼; Literally meaning "Copy Wheel Eye", Meaning (Viz) "Mirror Wheel Eye") is a dōjutsu kekkei genkai, which appears in some members of the Uchiha clan. It is one of the Three Great Dōjutsu (三大瞳術, San Daidōjutsu; Literally meaning "Three Great Eye Techniques"), along with the Byakugan and the Rinnegan. The Sharingan is also called "Heaven's Eye" (天眼, Tengan), because of the many abilities it grants the user."So it was another name for the Sharingan. Interestingly, she had never heard of it spoken that way before, but that might have had to do with her lack of information. Either way, it was still good to know. But... it seemed pretty fun to read. Just a little more wouldn't hurt, right?

Keeping the book in her lap, she read on, her scoll and writing tools long forgotten. The book was fascinating, and she really couldn't help not having fun reading the entirety of it. Going back to the parts she had skippeda while ago, she found this and that, simply reading for fun. It was no wonder why people craved to have this so much, if it really was as effective as they said it was. She would have to ask someone about it later when she got back home. Her father would ba back from his mission soon, and then she could ask him about it too. Finished with the book, she placed it back down, deciding to get back to her task.
Grabbing some other books from her pile, Sakura looked though the index, but it seemed that the title was a bit misleading, as there wasn't anything really related to genjutsu. The other books looked like she had picked up the wrong kind, so getting back up, Sakura started the slightly boring task of putting them back where they should be, instead of haphazardly sticking them wherever there was room, like some people did. That was a pet peeve of baa-sama, and Sakura made sure not to do that after she saw one of the clan members getting chased around the compound and being hit with a broomstick by an angered baa-sama for shoving a book where the scrolls were. In front of baa-sama, no less.

Searching for other books, Yuki looked around the small sanctuary, hoping one of the titles would pop out like a beacon and tell her to pick it up. Of course, nothing like that happened, and she had to content herself with the different ninjutsu available. While the subject was quite enlightening, it wasn't what she was looking for, and she put them back to return to her original quest.
"Picture books, The Tale of the Utterly Gutsy Shinobi... the Bingo Books?!" she exclaimed as she took out the last one. Her father had a copy of this, but unlike the clean state of these, there were markings all over the place, some with a checkmark, and some with a big X on thier pictures on his personal copies. Otou-san had once explained that the X meant that he had caught the bad guys and tought them a lesson himself. She never noticed the creepy smile on his face, or her okka-san rolling her eyes back then, but as time went on, she realized that it wouldn't be as simple as 'teaching them a lesson' as in being scolded and then hugging afterwards, no. She learned that bad people went to jail, and that there was a big one in Konohagakure somewhere, where there were lots of her own kin guarding them.
Looking at the sheer amount of volumes almost made her nauseous, but she soon recovered and starting searching through. The back side of her head asked how these were here, since they wereonly supposed to be only given to 'awesome ninjas', but she shrugged and let it by. These were ages old, and she didn't think it would really matter since there weren't any from recent times. But... oops. Looking around, Sakura decided to search somewhere else and see if she could get lucky. If not, she'd just come back here and search some more, but right now, all these books were tempting her to read them all when she really couldn't afford the time to, if she wanted to get home before okka-san did. After all, a more professional(boring) surrounding would actually help her to focus on what she was doing right now, instead of destracting her from her self-employed mission. She'd check the books out later if she really wanted to. But for now, Sakura reluctantly left the warm sofa and shelves of books to search for other books.
Going to the section closest to the entrance, Yuki looked around, occasionally picking up a book and setting them back down again, trying to find the right book that would explain what she wanted to know without being too confusing and preachy. As much as philosophy just fascinated her, she hated to feel like she did something wrong without understanding what she had done wrong in the first place. After a while, she finally found a book that sounded promising, and she reached up to grab it.

Of course, Sakura tried to (the key word being TRIED) do the smart thing and ask someone to take out the book for her. Looking around, she tried to see if anyone was there to help her, but even baa-sama had mysteriously disappeared to somewhere. 'Of all the times to be alone...' she thought to herself as she put her hands on her hips and glared at the book, willing it to fall down of its own accord, which of course, ever happened. Glancing at the wall, Sakura wondered if she could use chakra to walk up the wall like she had seen some shinobi do. But she shook her head and decided against it. After all, it was up quite high, and if she were to fall down by using an unkown jutsu to do that... Well. It would hurt a lot, that was for sure.
So she did the next best thing and started searching for a step-up ladder or a really really really thick book to use to get up there. There was one of those sliding ladders that baa-sama used sometimes, and Sakura shrugged. As long as she wasn't using it for any bad purposes, nothing could go wrong, she guessed. Just as she was about to drag the ladder over to where the book was though, she heard a deep masculine tone behind her."Would you like some help, little one?" Sakura turned around at the kind tone, gladly accepting his help, whoever he was. He wasn't someone that she knew off the top of her head, but he was definitely made of Uchiha genes, with the jet black hair and that aura that just seemed to develop afterwards to everyone. The pink haired girl pointed out which book she wanted, and he easily pulled it out, handing it to her before going back to what he had been doing. Glad that she had finally gotten the book, she thanked him politely and went her way, glad for the help. Yuki glared at the book again while she walked back to where the sofas were. To combat the effects of genjutsu, there are several options:
-The ninja needs to stop the flow of chakra in their body, and then apply an even stronger power to disrupt the flow of the caster's chakra; this is called Genjutsu Dissipation (幻術解, Genjutsu Kai). This can also be done by an unaffected ninja by applying a sudden surge of chakra into the affected person. In addition, tailed beasts can break their jinchūriki out of genjutsu in a similar fashion if they have a good enough cooperation.
-Another is through intense pain not caused by the genjutsu and utilising the resulting pain to bring their senses back in order (of the first two options, the latter seems more effective in most situations, or at least is the easiest)."Now this was what she had been looking for. Things like this was helpful, not only in understanding how they worked, but also like how they were able to break out of them. But the second option didn't seem so appealing. Of course, her okka-san patched her up whenever she hurt herself with that nifty jutsu that made a pretty green glow on her hands. She said it was but hurting herself deliberately to break out of a genjutsu seemed a little frightening. If she was pushed to do so, she might, but it was still going to be a last resort for her. The Genjutsu Kai sounded familiar. Where had she seen it before? Oh, of course. It was in their Academy syllabus. This was going to be something they would learn some other time, so she'd have to pay attention to learn how to do this.
Gently scribbling down a few notes about the different ways to dipel genjutsu, Sakura paused for a moment. If dispelling genjutsu was so easy, then how were people stopped by using this? It wasn't like it maimed them physically or anything, so it was strange to hear. Maybe the techniques themselves were mentally damaging and gruesome enough to shake the person badly. If that was the case, then it would be more effective than singing off an arm or a leg. And besides, noticing it was a genjutsu was hard, she had heard, so everything balanced out in the end, she supposed.
Finishing her notes, she read on, looking at the different diagrams of how it affected the chakra system and how someone's chakra system under genjutsu looked. Reading on, Sakura took notes as the book explained different methods to dispel genjutsu."-Another option is accessible only to Sharingan wielders. Members of the Uchiha clan can break or see through genjutsu using their Sharingan. Breaking Tsukuyomi is possible with an ordinary Sharingan, but requires a lot of skill. Sharingan wielders can also use their dōjutsu to liberate each other from genjutsu. Through eye contact, they are able to literally insert themselves into each other's genjutsu freely allowing them to break whatever genjutsu it is that imprisons their comrade.
-Ordinary people can sometimes train their eyes (without Sharingan) to break genjutsu through unknown means.
-One can prevent a person from casting genjutsu using obstructive techniques like the Hiding in Mist Technique to prevent one from being trapped by an ocular genjutsu.
-Strong smells like that from the Chilli Pepper Bombs, can counteract genjutsu."So the Sharingan was useful for more than just copying something from someone else, it seemed. No wonder people were envious of the talent to do something like this. It was a great thing to be able to have an advantage like that over others. She had seen otou-san's eyes when it was activated and spinning, but she had never realized that it was such a precious thing for a shinobi to have. Next time she got to spend some time with otou-san, she'd have to ask him to tell him all about it. Maybe she could convince him to teach her genjutsu and other neat stuff, now that she was finally an academy student. They had been a little worried about her entrance to the shinobi world, but she was pretty set on her path. After all, it was in her blood, and she had felt happy that she was doing pretty well despite everything in the academy, which boosted her confidence a little.
So there was no looking back.
Coming back to the text, Sakura looked and wrote some more notes, which had become pretty long by now. Strong smells and special training could also break genjutsu, it seemed, but it wasn't all that helpful because she would have such resources right off the bat in a peculiar situation. I mean, if they were going to write that they could train their eyes to become immune, then they should have at least written how to train it.

She set the book aside for a while, wanting to keep it for reference just in case, since it was the most helpful out of them all as of the moment. Placing the book on the sofa that she had just been sitting on, Sakura walked around again, in search of another book that would help her. It was still pretty early, and okka-san wouldn't be home this soon, even if she said 'soon', since she tended to get late when she went on shifts, from the steady influx of shinobi returning from awful fights. Extra hands in the hospital were needed badly, and okka-san just couldn't turn a blind eye to those that were hurt. Sakura didn't mind. She at least had her in the mornings and at night, and otou-san was there for her too. It was more than most could say in the shinobi life.
Smiling, Sakura went back and got over to the jutsu section, searching for different jutsus in genjutsu. There should have been some books that studied what kind of effects they had and what the name of the jutsu was. Sakura thought that she had seen it somewhere when she last skimmed by, but she couldn't really be sure. Searching the corners of the library, Yuki looked around for any similar books, but to no avail.
