Margulis was becoming more comfortable with the way the outside world seemed to work. In fact she could say she enjoyed it. Well, she shouldn't say that though. There was still strife among the pride regarding rogues and she was sure she wasn't helping with her ventures. But support or no she knew she was doing what was right. The more they knew about the outside world the more prepared they would be to adapt to it and work within its rules.
Full of wonders, that was the proper phrase, and she hadn't even encountered all there was to see. She'd heard tale of other sorts of non-lion creatures that inhabited these lands, and she intended to meet them all. Prey was only an applicable term if the quarry had no useful information to trade for its life, that was their rule. But even without information they would find no threat in her, she was no hunter.

Kaless snapped into consciousness, falling asleep for the third time that day, she needed to keep an eye out for hunters, seeing as there were more lions and hunters coming into rouge lands these days, she needed to be more alert then before.
she stretched and walked along a small path leading to a large shady baobab tree, perfect for getting out of the heat. she looked up into the tree and saw three avians fly out of it, and two klipspringers bounce from behind the tree. they were so small, cute, and surprisingly graceful. she lied down, leaned against the tree, and daydreamed.

There, beneath the tree. Margulis's eyes narrowed as she focused in on the bright spot. It was no lion, that much she could tell, but something of a very different form. Long legged but slim. Some sort of non-lion then, it had to be. Her heart raced as she snuck toward it, hoping not to scare it away. Had she thought about it from the other's perspective she might have understood how frightening her approach was but her curiosity had overwhelmed her sense.
"Dear little one," she said softly as she came up behind, "What manner of fanciful beast are you?" She often sounded like a child when she encountered something new. It wasn't flattering nor did it gain her any respect, but this was her own time. She didn't need to answer to anyone for behaving as she wished.

Kaless looked up to the lion approaching her in a friendly manner. she was getting used to it, so she had no reason to be startled anymore.
"hello, who might you be?"
she stood up and walked closer to the lion, she was in no position to attack her, more curios about her then anything.
"im a waterbuck"
she answered. it wasnt too rare any more running into lions and cheetahs that didnt know what she was, seeing as some had never seen one nefore her, and had no idea what her species was.

"A waterbuck?" Margulis racked her mind to think if she had ever encountered one of these before. She remembered vaguely from when she was just a cub a herd of them traveling by their home, but many of those had had horns. This one didn't, so she suspected it was a female. "Well then waterbuck, it's nice to meet you," she said cheerfully as she sat back on her haunches and squinted to clear her vision, "My name is Margulis, I didn't think you'd be so welcoming to a lioness. Many prey beasts would simply run without even stopping to wonder what we wanted. It's nice to see you've got more sense that that." Or well perhaps she didn't have any sense, it might be an advantage to treat all predators like well, predators.

"it may sound odd, but im used to predators approaching me out of either curiosity or if they just need some company, if it looks like you might want me for lunch, thats the only time i run."
she chuckled and lied back down, soaking in the shadiness of the baobab tree.
"my names Kaless'Jua, but you can call me Kaless. Are you wandering or in a pride?"
she always asked this out of curiosity, just in case the body she was talking to knew any herds, this lioness in particular didnt seem like it though, but it was always good for conversation.
