It was one of those days when everyone else had someplace to be or something to do. d**k and Berry were finalizing the paperwork on the new home they were purchasing. Ara was hanging out with Paul. And Elliotte was with the parents. He had done something to make Berry mad enough that he wasn't allowed from her sight. That left Gabe and London alone in the apartment . . .

1 London clicked the button on his mouse sending his latest paper electronically to his professor. With a sigh he made sure everything on the computer was saved as it should be before he pushed his chair away from the desk to stand up and stretch. Berry had been making him take part-time college courses ever since he had moved into the city with her. He didn't mind so much. At least it got him out of the house on the days he had to go to classes. He rolled his shoulders to loosen the muscles before wandering out the room and down the hall to the kitchen, looking for a snack.

At that point in time Gabe was in his black and Orange goth pants, sitting on the couch playing videogames. He was so into what he was doing occasionally there would be a "Yeah? You like that!" or a "Mother *ucker!" All in all his tail was wagging, even tho an ear did turn londons direction when he passed by.

2 London opened the fridge and stared blankly into its depths before letting it call shut again. With a sigh he looked around the kitchen and perked up when his gaze landed on the teapot. He busied himself heating water and then steeping the tea leaves. While he was waiting he dug through a cupboard until he found some cookies to go with the tea. When the tea was ready he set all the stuff on a tray and carried it out into the living room. He set his load down on the table and sat in a chair a bit away from Gabe but close enough to share the tea. "Would you like some?" He asked, pointing to the extra cup he had brought with him. He poured himself a cup and leaned back into the chair to stare into space while contemplating the meaning of life.

Gabe completely stopped, dumbfounded by "Tofus" kind gesture, staring at him with his bright glacier eyes he gave him a shy smile. "uhhh...yeah! Thanks!" Totally ignoring his game at this point he set the controller down and poured himself a cup very ceremoniously. His tail tip was still wiggling its appreciation. "Sooo.....Whats up?" He tried breaking the ice since the little birdy had been pretty much silent or was too busy with his schooling. Maybe he would find out something interesting about this guy after all?

3 London was shaken from his reverie. He hadn't expected Gabe to talk to him. Come to think of it he didn't really know why he had thought to brink the tea into the living room. Must be the politeness training Berry had all but beat into him. He shook his head to scatter his thoughts. The kid was Syl's brother after all. So why not. "I, uh, wanted a snack so I thought I could share. I guess real school work depletes my energy." The word real dripped with sarcasm as he thought of all the things he had been learning with Master Craig before his mother had had the bright idea that he needed formal classes.

"Well thats awful nice of you...uh...London." He gave him one of his big closed eyed smiles, "Yeah, School sucks so I just chill and game or...practice my tattooing or whatever." A sound was emitting from the tv of Gabes character getting close to dying, in one smooth motion he scooped up the controller with one hand, Hit a few buttons and pulled off a sick combo which also brought his health back to full. With a smug look he nodded and paused the game, setting the controller on the arm of the couch, then turning his full attention to London, still smiling.

4 London glanced at the tv trying to show at least polite interest, though he really didn't see the draw in hitting buttons to move pixels. He gave a half-shrug. "I miss my practice yard. There's no room here for that sort of thing. And I miss the horses." A touch of sadness softened his eyes before he continued. "It has been a major change trying to get used to the city. I don't really have anything I like to do here." Taking a sip of his tea he looked at the fox boy with an unreadable expression. "I need a new hobby."

4"Hmm" Gabe pondered Londons situation thoughtfully, wondering maybe if there was something he could do to help. I mean they were like, brothers almost, not really but still..."Well....dont you ever visit?? Or want to?? I mean...you could on weekends right??" He tilted his head honestly curious, "And you could visit whoevers all there too!" The foxboy bounced and swayed a little and sipped at his cup, swaying to his own little tune in his head.

5 He shrugged. "I don't think mother wants me out there. Something about getting cultured in stead of being a country bumpkin or something equally ridiculous." He paused and thought for a moment, rolling ideas over in his mind. "In fact she might just mean for me to find a new hobby." And make friends, he added silently in his own head. Since both of those things had been going stellar in the couple of weeks he had been living in the cramped apartment. Of course there were people he had talked to in classes but no one had been able to match his passion or knowledge of the things he really cared about. He had begun to think more and more often recently that maybe he had ended up in the wrong time period. "Of course," he continued, "I am quite happy with the things I like and nothing in this place has caught my attention yet. I'm not so sure there will be anything that does."

5It almost seemed as if an actual lightbulb popped above Gabes head, "What about that equestrian school near the Academy? I mean...that could prove to be promising! And...i think theres a Dojo downtown if you still wanna practice that fighting stuff!" He was really trying to help even though he didnt really know much about the essence of rebirth, but he wanted to at least give helping a shot. "maybe you need to try something outside of the box like...skydiving or...yoga or something random!!! Maybe set some world records or write an awesome story that makes you money? Heck maybe you could even be a DJ" He crossed his arms behind his head and leaned back against the couch. "Maybe..."

6 He sat quietly for a moment, mulling over Gabe's suggestions in his head. "Well, I think that equestrian center is actually part of the academy and only the students can use it. However I may have to go check out this dojo you speak of. " He sat thinking a bit more. "I don't know about trying something random. I wouldn't know where to start." He let himself worry a bit about trying to learn something new on his own. Before, he had had Master Craig to help set him in the proper direction. Guess this was really just part of growing up. Maybe that was the lesson his mother had intended for him to learn.

6 Well ya never know till you try! Like me and piercing, or tattoos" He grinned at him, one of his genuine closed-eyed big grins. "You have any ink yet bro?" He sat up examining him. "Maybe we can try something out together? I mean...if you want and...like..." Gabe blushed, getting embarrased about his usual over-excitedness. He pretended to hide it by grabbing a magazine, flipping through pages. "Theres a club if ya like music, can totally get you in." He grinned.

7 London shifted uncomfortably at mention of the club. "I'm not so sure that I'm ready to go gallivanting about the town just yet. Besides, isn't that cat-boy's place? I wouldn't want him to start pissing on everything because he felt his territory was being impinged upon." upon sudden realization that he was speaking ill of the fox's friend London snapped his mouth shut. "What I mean to say is that I respectfully decline your offer of going to this club." Still feeling uncomfortable he glanced around nervously looking to change the subject. "What is this about ink? Like tattoos? No, I have none. I never really thought about it before, actually."

Gabe started to laugh at the thought of Elliott peeing on everything in the club with a disgruntled "MINE" Expression. Rolling off of the couch he held is sides, "Thats awesome! haha, dude id love to see him do that! hehe besides youd be with me, he couldnt say anything. And who knows, you might make some friends there!" He grinned. "Anywho, yeah tattoos. They can stand for anything you want them to. Your body is a canvas to your inner soul." He sighed wistfully,"Whatever works for you bro." He climbed back on the couch lounging on one cushion, as if inviting london over to the empty cushions for some friendly banter.
