Behold the ever glorious Mansion School. Where the preppy rich kids go to earn a high school and college education in one place. The more money you have, the greater the respect you earn. It's a prestigious school, one where you can learn a trade and earn a degree for it beginning your Freshman year of high school.

But the school is becoming increasingly desolate lately.

Times are tough. The economy is down, the unemployment rate is back up. Parents are getting divorces, and kids are acting out. The school is near deserted. The Board of Educators even had to lower the admissions fee so that more middle-class families could send their kids to school. Needless to say, the richer families are enraged at the thought of middle-class invading their sanctified school.

For richer, or poorer, where do you hail from?

Dean Alejandro Hernandez

Alejandro woke up bright and early that first day of the new semester. He, like the rest of the teachers and students, had moved back onto campus a week earlier to get settled. Orientations were held throughout the week, and there were a lot of off-campus parties that the college level kids held at local clubs and restaurants. It was looking to be a great year, despite having to open the academy's doors to other class people.

Alex sighed defeatedly and got dressed. He allowed his teachers and staff to dress business casual, so he was attired in a red button down shirt and dark kahki pants. He pocketed his old-school blackberry and packed his tablet in his briefcase after shutting off the music that he played during his shower. He slung a messenger bag of papers onver his shoulder and, with briefcase in hand, locked up his on-campus apartment and headed to his office in the main building of the school.

He was most certainly curious about how the school year would play out. He wondered how much animosity would develop amongst the students due to the drastic differences in wealth classes. He knew his roots were humble, but he wasn't sure about anyone else, especially hormonally-energized young adults. Still, the Dean of Mansion School held his head high, plastered on a welcoming smile, and stepped out onto the freshly cut grass.

Dean Alex held his head up high and chest out, proud, like a king amongst his serfs. At least he'd have a pleasant day outside, as the air was wonderful. Students were everywhere, bustling about trying to find their ways to their classes. It seemed as if the orientation week did nothing for them, and they've already gone mad with loss of location. He passed a small courtyard garden and saw a new student sitting on one of the benches, fidgiting with her hands like she was upset. The dean sighed within himself.

"Hello there. Are you alright?"

Alejandro nodded. He had been expecting several foreign exchange students and students who have moved here permanantly from abroad. The dean reached into his bag and pulled out some papers. He handed the girl a map of the campus, and a calendar of local coffee clutches and more student orientations.

"I hope you find Mansion School very much to your liking," Alex said with slight disdain in his voice. He bid her farewell and continued on to his building. He sat at his desk and tossed his bag on la mesa in front of him.
