All things considered, Yayuka was preeetty happy with life right now. Even though his ear would never grow back and his paw would always look rather... unattractive, the rest of him was just fine. He had adjusted well to life in the desert despite the drought, and he even had a very nice lady lion who he could spend quality time with. So he thought it was all good and proper to celebrate this by relaxing in some shade he had found. Occasionally Aithne would come by here as well, and he would be happy to be joined by her.
But this was fine too. After all, he had just finished a couple rounds of sparring and could use a bit of a nap. It was all too easy to fall asleep when you had a comfortable spot in the shade. Soon, of course, it would be back to work for Yayuka, life in the desert wasn't about relaxation. But every now and then...

Aithne was also pretty happy up until a few minutes ago that she got some news that her father felt she needed some responsibility and because of that she needed to now take on the responsibility of two cubs. She didn't completely understood why it had to be her. She kind of had a feeling why it had to be here. She kind of figured that she probably did need some responsibility but at the same time she was very frustrated and she was not ready to a point. She knew what she was going to do from here.
She trotted as quickly as she could, she was urgent wondering where he was. He was her boyfriend now, and although it was still an odd idea to her at the same time she was starting to enjoy it. But now she was throwing a wrench into her relationship and she was putting down her foot, he was going to deal with it. Se found him and she walked up behind him and batted him with her paw. "You." She said simply and then batted again. "You have some thing to deal with." She said simply again.

He hadn't seen, let alone heard anyone coming over to him, as Yayuka was quite close to falling asleep in this nice little shade. Next thing he knew, he was under assault. "Heeeeeyyyy!" He not so gracefully jumped up and whirled around, only to find Aithne was his attacker.
Yayuka's immediate reaction was to assume she was joking around with him, since sometimes this sort of roughhousing happened with them, so he grinned and pawed, playfully, back at her. But then she was talking and he creased his brows, a distinctly confused face crossing his features. "I do?" The play was mostly gone from him, but he still wasn't feeling too serious. Besides, lovely Aithne had just showed up! so he took a couple steps forwards to headbutt her affectionately, before sitting back. "What's up?"

A little smile grew on her face at his affections. She really surprisingly enough the affect from her mate. It was odd to have a made that was here and was going to be helping her. Well helping her regardless of how much he wanted to not help her she was going to make him. That was part of being together that was for sure. She flicked her tail around behind her as she thought about what she was going to say to him. She took a few second before talking to him as simply as she could. "Well, you are going to have two cubs now." She said simply before thinking about what she had just saif and rewording her words. "I mean! They're already born... You know those two they found in the Nergui?" She asked him wondering if she knew about the two cubs that she was going to be forced into adopting.

Hm, whatever this news was it really had Aithne somewhat bothered! That was rather intriguing, and he began to wonder just how big a deal it was. Hopefully she'd just spit it out–
Well, you are going to have two cubs now.
... What.
All he could do then was gape, brows furrowed, because what no way. Like, really, really, how– well, of course he knew how but still, how. Cubs. And she'd just say it like that. Of course Yayuka was quick to make assumptions based on what she said and even when she corrected herself, at first he could only make a little humming sound. Because that had been quite the scare there. Oh goodness! "Y-yeah." He stammered, as the world started to slow down again. sort of. "Nergui cubs. I mean, the cubs they found with the Nergui–yeah." He blinked rapidly, then shook his head. "What about them?"

Aithne looked at him and then he tried to play it off the best she could. She was trying her best to act like there was really nothing wrong or for that matter nothing wrong with what was going on. She was trying to just play it off as if nothing was going on at all. "Well my dad said I needed some responsibility and the cubs ended up at my doorstep."
She paused and then started to talk to him again. "Well I need help raising them and I was thinking that maybe you would help." She then paused and then shook her head. "No you have to help if you're going to be my mate." She said stubbornly trying to pretend as if nothing just happened that made her upset or soft. Not Aithne was not soft at all that was for sure.

Now that the scare was done with, he was able to start making sense of things again. A little part of his mind nagged him, because he could have handled the whole thing better. He'd be ashamed about that later though. "Heh." Yayuka laughed dryly, if only because the idea of her father saddling her with random cubs would have amused him at just about any time.
He would have said yes, of course, when she asked like that. It was unusual for Aithne and it sort of made him want to do things to please her. But when she behaved in a more typical Aithne manner, her grinned. "Hmmm... I'm not sure. Will it be worth my while?" Yayuka asked. He winked, to show he was just teasing her.

Aithne couldn't help but to huff at his question. She moved to her paws and then she lifted a heavy paw to slap on to his shoulder. She did have a small grin on her face as she did, she was pretty amused but at the same time still a little annoyed. "You get to stay with me and not be constantly harassed." she walked toward him and then pushed nudged him, leaning her body weight around him. She was weird with her ways of affection just like she was weird with her handling of any other being on the planet. She was very happy and yet she couldn't really show that easily. She paused and then looked at him with a pretty honest look on her face. "Well, what do you think?" She asked curiously really wanting to know what he thought about the whole idea.

He made little effort to dodge her blow, and as such, it hit. He might have blurted out a yes just to please her then, when she came up and pressed against him. But Yayuka liked fun and would play it cool for a while longer. "I get to stay with you, but at the price of dealing with strange cubs..." He quirked his brow, and looked very much not interested.
"I'm in." He said, quickly nipping at her ears, or maybe he wanted to lick her. Either way would be fine. "So what're they called again?" Since Yayuka hadn't assumed they'd be important, he'd never bothered memorizing the names. And he often just forgot names anyways.

Aithne laughed a little with a grin nipping back at Yayuka, amused by him, she ahd to say he was the only one that she found comments like that amusing from. The grumpy girl truely did find some one that she enjoyed. Her tail flicked around behind her, standing as she did, her attention turned toward him laughing a little. "Uhh, that is a good question, lets ask my dad when we get them, come on." Yet another surprise that he was throwing at him they were going to be on their way now

He grinned dumbly, and raised a paw to bat at her just as she spoke again.

Crap!
For some reason, the idea of going to see Kidondo while acting as Aithne's boyfriend/mate/whatever was rather horrifying, though he had never felt intimidated by the Regent before. Rationally he knew nothing awful would (probably) come of it, but... but still.
And yet he couldn't find a reasonable excuse to not go, so he laughed a little. "Ok then!" And with a slightly wooden smile went along with Aithne.
