Nedavya lounged gracefully on a particularly comfortable large rock, the heat radiating through his body and relaxing his muscles. He'd had an excellent meal and was now meticulously cleaning his paws and mane to make sure that he'd gotten rid of every last drop of blood. Neddy was fastidious and rather picky about his appearance. Once he was satisfied that he was completely clean, he settled back to enjoy the heat of the sun.

He'd had a very successful day at hunting and had been able to take down an elderly antelope with hardly any struggle. Certainly not every kill was so easy, so he acknowledged his fortunate times while he could.

As he sat in the sun, Neddy contemplated his next move. He'd been living alone for quite some time, but was in the midst of searching for a new home. He'd come across several prides in his travels so far, but none of them had felt quite "right" so he'd politely taken his leave and continued his search. He knew that there was a pride out there that would work for him, provided he continued his search diligently.

With a sigh and a long stretch, Neddy stood and strolled over to the nearest watering hole for a drink of water. After that, he would choose a direction and see what he could learn about the area.

Life was going okay for the male. He may not have been as successful at hunting today, but he was nearing a watering hole and that was quite pleasant. His thirst had grown as he walked. A wanderer, he hardly stayed in one place. He liked his life that way. He had nothing to hold him down, he was free as a bird. Though being a wanderer, meant he never really held any friendships. He didn't mind too much though, he had things to worry about that didn't involve friends.. Like rescuing damsels, and fighting the bad guys. Some said that he was a failed attempt at a hero, but he tried not to take their words to heart.

The water never looked better when he finally rested his eyes on it. It had been a few miles since he had run into water, and it was a sight for sore eyes. He grinned, the pep back in his step as he began walking forward. He liked how the muddy terrain felt on his paws. He closed the distance to the water, and lowered his maw. He greedily lapped up his fill, before looking around him. In hindsight, it was a bad idea not to look before drinking. But he was too thirsty to care -too- much..

When his thirst was quenched, he raised his head and took a deep breath. He was going to stay here and rest for a while. No where better to rest than near an open bit of water.

Neddy blinked in surprise at the sight of the male leopard who approached the watering hole and drank with obvious thirst. He didn't seem to notice Neddy standing off to the side. However, that didn't really matter. Neddy was hardly the type to attack another individual. Unless he was hunting, or provoked, he was the soul of manners and etiquette.

Now Nedavya had a bit of a debate on his paws. Should he step forward and introduce himself and see what happened. Or should he hold off defensively to see if the other male would attack.

Neddy pondered that for a moment before deciding on diplomacy. He stepped forward and cleared his throat before calling out.

"Good day to you, Sir." Neddy's voice had a slight drawl to it that sounded peculiar to some, though he fancied it gave him an aristocratic air. He'd spoken like that since he was young and now it was as natural as breathing.

Once the voice entered his ears, he nearly jumped from his skin. Eyes wide, he turned to the source, and backed up only slightly. The cream colored male didn't seem aggressive, nor dangerous. Good, because Grimm'Geist really didn't want to have to worry about saving anyone from him later. He was a big lion, and though Grimm was probably faster.. he was smaller, for sure.

He cleared his throat, and smoothed down the cloak he wore around his shoulders.

"Good day. Sorry if I disturbed you. I was too thirsty to think clearly." He chuckled, bowing his head in greeting.

"The name is Grimm. Grimm'Geist." He said pleasantly, plopping his rear down once he was confident the male wasn't a bad one.

Neddy somehow managed to keep from chuckling at the leopard's reaction, who'd obviously had no idea of his presence. He noticed the wary caution, but was pleased when the leopard made no move to fight or to flee. Rather he introduced himself. Perfect.

Neddy bowed expertly to the smaller male before sitting as well, making sure that his posture was perfect and he smiled kindly.

"An honor, Grimm, to make your acquaintance. I am Nedavya, though many call me Neddy," he said with a chuckle. He took a moment to admire the length of some kind of fabric that Grimm wore around his neck and shoulders, before continuing. "Please, don't apologize. You weren't bothering me at all and I do understand how one's thirst can be distracting," he said with a wry smile.

"Are you a native to these whereabouts, sir?" asked Neddy in a polite way, hoping to start up a friendly conversation.

The first thing he noted about the lion, well besides his being larger than himself, was that he was very well spoken. He liked when others were polite, though sometimes he wasn't sure he really was. But he tried to be..

"Then I shall call you Neddy." The friendly leopard responded, a smile on his features. His silver fur shone in the sunlight, and he positioned his cloak so that it wasn't beaming directly on him. It was a hot day today! Though most days were hot in this season.

"Ah, I am not. I don't really have anywhere I'm native to." He chuckled. "I'm a wanderer by heart. Because you can't be a hero when you stay in one place." There he went, tooting his own horn. He was always getting so much flack for his failed rescue attempts, that he felt the need to talk himself up most times.

"What of you? Do you know these parts well?" He asked.

Neddy nodded pleasantly. He was rather indulgent about his nick-name. A part of him always wanted to be addressed properly, as Nedavya. However, he was fond of his little moniker, and being that he was very social, use of a nick-name helped to build friendship and a level of trust. Neddy fancied himself, perhaps not an expert, but rather knowledgeable on the proper social norms.

"Ah yes, I see. I have been wandering quite a bit myself, at least recently," he said with a bit of a rueful chuckle. It wasn't that he didn't enjoy traveling, but Neddy thrived on conversation and interactions. The life of a lone wanderer was not well-suited to him.

The comment about being a hero caught Neddy's attention and peaked his curiosity, but he held off on asking about it until he'd answered Grimm's other question.

"Actually no, I'm not terribly familiar with this area. I have been staying here for a little while, while I learn about the prides that live around here. I am searching for a pride to join, you see. If they allow me to, of course," he added.

Now he indulged his curiosity and simply had to ask.

"Might I ask, sir, if you don't mind. You said that you cannot stay in one place for too long, because you are a hero? Do you make that your occupation?" he asked with genuine interest. There was nothing whatsoever in his tone that could be considered derisive. Neddy was unfailingly polite and would never, ever stoop to insulting another. Unless that person truly deserved it. But that was quite rare.

Grimm was more than happy to be on his own. Sure he got those random cravings of social interactions.. But they were few and far in between. Most made fun of his endeavors and he just did not like dealing with the same questions and ridicule day in and day out. When he was on his own, things were simpler it seemed.

"Good luck on that. I don't plan on coming within smelling distance of any pride." He said with his own chuckle. He wasn't afraid of prides, but for the same reason he was keeping away from others, he was keeping away from them. Though most prides had a bit of a bias against leopards, and that was only the least of his problems.

"I don't mind," he responded when the male wanted to ask a question. He cocked his head, waiting for it and then grinned.

"Well. Uh.. I-.." He tried to think of a way to put it, but then decided he should just spit it out. If Neddy made fun of him, well he would deal with that then. Though his tone seemed curious, and not judgemental.

"I guess you could say that it's my occupation. It's something I enjoy doing." He said, not mentioning the fact that he truly sucked at heroics.

Neddy chuckled along with Grimm, recognizing their differences. To each their own, thought Neddy. He knew that some rogues did enjoy wandering alone. He couldn't quite understand why, but Grimm was not the first wanderer he'd met who enjoyed a life of solitude, more or less. Just because there were different, that was no reason that they couldn't get along.

He listened attentively as the other male answered his questions and nodded. Grimm seemed like a very reasonable adult. If he enjoyed a life of heroic deeds, then there was no reason for Neddy to disbelieve him.

"Marvelous! I always felt that one should enjoy one's occupation. I think it's wonderful that you travel around and commit heroic deeds. There are far too many rogues who wander and do the exact opposite: stealing, cubnapping, even killing others," said Neddy. Pondering for a few seconds, he added, "It's certainly a refreshing change of pace. An honor to meet you indeed, sir!"

"Have you had much opportunity around here?" he queried, his interest piqued.
