The lioness crept close to the ground, her ears pinned back for the moment to make herself as small as she possibly could.

These grasses were frustrating to hunt through, far more frustrating then the prideland's grasses. Those grasses we very tall and could hide a darker lioness like herself with out a problem, but now it was much harder but that was okay,it was something that she was starting to get used to, but she couldn't wait to get home. It was going to be soon, with the new 'additions' to her and Sama's family she suddenly had mouths to feed and she knew that the help of her pride mate's would be useful at this point. It was an interesting adventure into the rogue lands, but she knew that it was time to start heading home. Which is what they were working on.

But yet little legs could not go as far as her and Sama's longer legs and their little stomachs became empty much faster then her and Sama's and they were far more vocal about wanting to stop for the night because they were getting 'swleepppyyyy'. They had picked a good place for the night. There was prey everywhere and Sarabi was close enough to the den where she could give a chirp and she knew Sama would be right at her side quickly with out a problem. It was going nice.

She poked her head through the grasses, her ear's lifting for a moment so she could listen carefully to the gazelle she was going after, she watched it carefully waiting for the perfect moment. Before she could even more she watched as the creature lifted it's head. She didn't make a sound! Why was it freaking out? She felt frustration over her and then she felt that suddenly taking off. She stood as a feeling came over her. She had no idea what it was but it made her uncomfortable that was for sure. Her ears flicked and she stepped forward, what did she just wittness? And more importantly what was she going to catch now?

There were three little cubs nesting on Samawati’s side. Three. Not one of them was his - or his mate’s for that matter - but somehow this little adventure in the rogue lands had turned to be a more eventful than he’d ever expected. Now that Hidaya had joined their little instant family, Samawati was starting to worry about how long it would take to return to the Pridelands. Things were simpler when they only had to carry the two boys but with three cubs, travelling had become a much trickier affair. Tiny paws were slow and tired easily and having three new mouths to feed was a strange new concept especially for the Scout that rarely bothered to do any actual hunting in his homeland.

His blue eyes searched for the dark shape of his mate. He hated that she was out there on her own but the brown lioness was definitely the better hunter of the couple and Samawati hoped she was close enough for him to hear her call should anything happen.

Uuni had been watching the pair for a few days.

It was a bored task at first - what else did one do while they fed restless mortal cubs? These ones futures were uncertain. Their pale fur was streaked with the bloody runes that most knew to be her mark. But, while she may have graced lions with actual blood, these young cubs were victim of pigmented fur.

They made proper deals, if they were needed. But, mostly, they were a price. And, should they ever come into contact with their father, they would meet a very bitter and unpleasant end.

Quietly, she slipped from a tree, her leopard nostrils elongating and her body enlarging with each step she took. The quiet gazelle's took one look at the growing hair, whipping and twisted with the wind, before deciding to make a run for it.

Uuni did not bother to hide her size or her horns in a useless illusion. She was visiting this pair as a god, not a mortal.

"There's no need to run," the goddess spoke as her tongue reformed. "Save your breath, and your energy." She continued her steps, until her shadow nearly met the dark form of Sarabi. Uuni's icey eyes were looking higher, though, towards a pale male in the background.

Sarabi stood thinking of what she was going to do. Why was there that strange feeling? It couldn't be frustration, although she felt it it just wasn't the same. She was frozen in place trying to figure out what to do with herself and trying to fight off the frustration. And then there was a noise, a rustling in the bushes, she could almost feel panic, and then there was a figure.

It was a rather large lioness, Sarabi was pretty confused, she had to look up to meet the lioness's eyes. Her own icy eyes were locked, she stared at the lioness,Or she assumed was a lioness. Her hair was long and then tehre was her horns. Normal lions didn't have horns. and that was when she could feel the panic set in deeper. "Sama-" she began to yell and her front paw picked up as she prepared herself to go in the other direction, but then the lioness spoke to her. Do not run. Oh god she felt like she was in for it now. She stood staring at the lioness not sure of what to say or what to do. She was dumb founded to a point, standing and staring, she felt helpless at the moment, too afraid to run or to talk.

Samawati’s head rose with a smile when he felt a presence approach him, a smile that faded quickly when he realized there was an impossibly large lioness standing very close to Sarabi. It had been strange for his mate to return so quickly and for him not to have heard the sounds of a struggle between predator and prey. So the logical assumption was that the hunt had been interrupted and the cause was now staring right at him from where Sarabi stood.

In the back of Samawati’s mind, there had always been a great doubt regarding the existence of Gods. Many had told him about them, rogues and even his friends but the golden lion had always accepted their stories with reluctance. Giant lions with wings…? Please. And now he was being proven wrong in the worst possible way. Lions were not supposed to have horns.

“Sarabi.” He called after his mate with a calm he did not truly feel, standing defensively in front of the little cubs that couldn’t leave unprotected. He’d heard about the Gods’ strange lighting speed one too many times and didn’t doubt the pale Goddess could reach his location in an instant. It was a horrible thing to be forced into this choice: to stay with the cubs they had adopted or to go to his mate’s side.

“Umh… Hello?” Samawati called out to the horned-lioness. Her words hadn’t been threatening but he still cornered and afraid.

Fear.

The mortals typically held respect, awe, perhaps some apprehension. But most summoned her, and the fear had long been smothered by feelings of desperation.

"Save your mortal hellos, too. They're unimportant." How nice it was to encounter normal lions with normal emotions. Uuni breathed in a happy breath. There would be no pacts today, no horrible tricks for her to stumble over.

"Are you listening?" A brief pause. "Good." How to explain this 'gift' she was giving them? "There is a matter, a sensitive one, which I'm here to entrust you with." The words were spoken loudly, traveling to the ears of both male and female mortal.

"I suppose you could refuse." Uuni's massive shoulders moved in somewhat of a shrug. "I'd rather you didn't."

Sarabi looked at the lioness pretty stunned. She had no clue at all of what to say honestly no idea one bit. She really had no idea in the world of what to do to the lioness. She was staring unsure of what was going on. She looked at her mate and then at him and finally her eyes settled on the lioness. She was a large lioness she wasn't sure of what to say of what she was or what she was doing here. She was about to speak to the lioness replying to the first thing she said but she paused being interupted. The lioness seemed to have something in mind of what she wanted and she was almost in a rush to have it happen. She wasn't sure of waht she wanted out of herself and her mate though. What did they do? she wasn't that sure at all. "Entrust us?" She asked curiously. "Why us? What was happening?"

Her voice wasn't as scared, she was just confused honestly right now that was all to it. What was this large lioness was about to talk to them about? And then another question slipped out of her lips. "What are you anyway?" She asked not that sure of what to think about her. she looked interesting that was for sure.

Samawati’s head dropped a little and he felt as if he was being chastised. Sarabi seemed to be saying out loud all the questions that plagued him and he observed the Goddess with intense gaze, trying to make sense of the situation.

It was an unnerving little game that his mind was playing right now, constantly seeking out a hidden meaning in the Goddess’ words as it tried to figure out if they were being threatened or not. He hoped whatever request the horned lioness was about to ask of them, Sarabi and himself would be able to fulfill it but if she asked for something weird or violent from them, he would need to think of an escape route fast. Samawati did not wish to be anywhere near a displeased Goddess.

“We are Samawati and Sarabi of the Pridelands. May we ask your name, Goddess?” He hoped she wouldn’t take offense to Sarabi’s last question. In all honesty, Samawati cared little for the Goddess’ name and he was actually far more interested in knowing what was her… type? Subject? While the yellow lion was not knowledgeable enough to know the correct term, he knew enough to be on guard. You know, just in case she turned out to the Goddess of Torture or something of the sort. "And if it's within our abilities..." he trailed off, unsure of whether or not he should make a commitment to her mysterious request.

"The world is ending." Though her voice was dry, her eyes swiveled between them as if seeing as though they would take her seriously. After the brief pause, she shook her hefty mane and moved on.

The goddess glanced at Sarabi, clicking her tongue against the roof of her mouth. "Your," she paused then, searching for the correct word, "Lover is correct. A goddess. You may ask him what that is later." There was no way in the hells she was dealing with a pluthera of questions today.

A humored chuckle, then, as the mail said 'within our abilities'. Apparently, she skipped completely over the 'name' part without any care at all.

"It's within your abilities." Honestly, mortals. Would she have wasted the time here if it wasn't?

"Raising a child isn't hard. It looks like you've already started." A glance, to Samawati, and those in tow.

Sarabi was pretty surprised to hear what the goddess had to say. It blew her mind to even know that she was a goddess. Sarabi knew what goddesses were she thought that it was very interesting that she was even meeting a goddess, and how did the goddess know so much about them. She glanced toward Sama not sure of what to think about this thing going on, what did they do.

Wait raising a child, what about raising a child, yes they did just take in a few cubs but at the same time how did she know this and they were really raising them yet. Were they? She really wanted to try to help them find their parents. "What about raising a child?" She asked not that sure of what else to say, there were honestly so many things running through her mind but yet that was all that came out of her mouth. She was trying to come up with some kind of other words but they just weren't coming no matter what she did.

Samawati frowned, confused by Goddess’ words. First she told them the world was ending – not a particularly pleasant prospect – and then she spoke of raising a child. Did she want them to raise a child? Whose child? One she’d found, one she’d stolen? Samawati’s silent conjectures crossed his mind at lightning speed, each more terrifying and unlikely than the last. For while Samawati had some basic knowledge regarding the (usually) winged giants, he had never thought of them as more than a silly rumor, a joke to be played on the weak of mind. They weren’t beings to be trusted if half the things he’d heard were true and Samawati wasn’t about to put his faith in this mysterious figure. He remained silent, his frown deepening as he met his mate's bright eyes.

Uuni sighed at them, and the wind moved and the dust swirled. The goddess looked from dumbfounded male back to his mate.

"Come with me." Explaining to them was going to wear on her tongue, and her nerves. Besides, if she just happened to, oh, vanish when she'd led them to the cubs, they'd have no choice. Mortals like these were so responsible it was sickening.

"You can ask questions on the way if you must." The goddess turned as though she did not expect a refusal. And, she didn't. What intelligent mortal would refuse a direct order from a god?

"It isn't far," she added without so much as glancing back over her shoulder.

At first Sarabi couldn't help but to stay where she was and simply stare at her mate. This odd lioness wanted to lead them away and she was just standing there not sure at all of what to do. She wanted to follow the goddess and find out what she wanted yet at the same time she was lost of what the goddess wanted them to do. She wanted them to follow her too. She turned toward her mate and gave him a concerned look. But as the goddess started to way she started to follow. She was hoping wahtever they were about to have them do it wouldn't be that bad.

Samawati’s frown was now clearly shadowing his eyes. If he might’ve seemed suspicious or conflicted before, that feeling was now multiplied by ten. A little anger was slowly mixing with the healthy respect he had been feeling for the Goddess and he took a couple of steps in her direction.

“We can’t just leave the cubs alone.” He said even though his movements were betraying his words. He didn’t trust her and he worried that she might be using an accomplice to take the three little cubs once she’d managed to get the couple away from them. It didn’t matter that the horned lioness was probably strong enough to take them herself by force if she so desired.

And yet he didn’t want Sarabi to go alone with the Goddess either. The hairs on his back were standing on end, giving his golden coat a ruffled look. He would’ve growled hadn’t he been convinced of the Goddess’ strength and unsure of her character but he remained quiet instead, letting out long heavy breaths.

If she had heard him, Uuni ignored Samawiti's troubled tone. The large, padding footsteps did not slow. Even the grass seemed to part in the wake of her large body.

The mortals would soon find the goddess did not lie. They had no more than reached the shade of a tall, thorny bush than their group had come to a halt. Uuni flicked her eyes back over them: an mother and a father who simply thought they were taking children on part term, and then the bush crumbled before their eyes.

It turned to blood, thick, oozing, and snaked its way back towards her in the sand. It mixed with the charcoal black of her hair, until it became indistinguishable as the strands. One might, if they watched carefully, believe they had become the strands of hair themselves.

There, nestled together calmly where there had once been shade, were two sleeping cubs.

"Their parents will not be coming back for them." That, the goddess knew for a fact. "Their father, in particular, is not to even know their names."
