The dark was a very bad place to be most might fear the night or what lurked in it. In the shadows was a mare who stood out bright like a beacon her white body standing out under the moonlight. She was standing still hardly breathing in some sort of trance her breath rising up to meet the sky. If another being crossed her path right now they would think her in shock or something health related but she was not any of those things. She was watching the spirits dancing before her looking to them for guidance and advice having been lost for so long was there anyone that could save her from fate?
Breaking from her trance she looked to the sky and then back to the ground. Shaking herself feeling the dew of the morning upon her she slowly moved away from the shadows and into the light. Dawn was approaching but still she had nowhere to be her heart was frozen solid and no one had been able to break it neither friend or foe. Where was the one she needed to break her and melt her heart to make her whole again? Everything could be mended or was it even possible for a mare as broken as herself? She swore to never let anyone else in struggling to admit her wrongs and the fact she really did still love her brother in sibling love. She wanted to hide all her problems and never face them but where would that ever lead her?
Only when she found love and was back in her family would things be set right. She was just to stubborn and stuck after a failed love that she knew would never last. Things happen for a reason but what is that reason? Why did she fling knowing that the stallion would break her heart and leave? How could she ever let another in after the bitter past the spirits were the only ones with her now. They would always be with her guiding her in the path to light the path to love and a whole family with mended bonds.

The great Sun Goddess Uelanuhi took her time unveiling her face to the world, but soon the soft orange pink glow of her face and love was shining upon the world. How time flied, Adonvdo could remember watching the sunrise with his two daughters and telling them stories about the great Goddess Uelanuhi; now they were fully grown and off making their own ka-no-he-lv-s-gi (story) in life. Flòraidh and he are great friends, but there was no heart stopping, butterflies in the stomach feeling between them, at least not anymore. He loved her, but not in the way one should love a mate, and she felt the same, so once their daughters were grown, the two friends went their separate ways. Adonvdo does not regret his time with her, he sees his two daughters as a A-da-do-li-gi (blessing) upon his life by the Great Spirit.
A smile appeared on the countenance of the storyteller as he continued to journey, spreading tales of horror, romance, and fantasy, pretty much what ever theme the audience was interested in on that day. The dark coated stallion slowed his steps when he spotted a white spot in the distance; it appeared as if U-na-tsi (snow) had fallen only in that spot, which did not seem possible, one because it was not yet the season for Go-la (winter) and he did not believe snow could fall in such a small dense place and just in that one place long enough to create the appearance of a wall of snow. The curious stallion of the Asgina Kanehelvsgi picked up his pace and soon the soquili of his curiosity came into view. She was a mare who was as white as u-na-tsi and had hair black as night with grey varying throughout and on the tips. Upon her face was a black mask, did she wear that to hide scars? Or just to keep her identity a secret from those who pass her by?
She did not seem to notice his presence, for she appeared to be focused on an unseen force before her. Adonvdo cocked his head to the side as he waited for her, unsure if he should interrupt what she was doing or be patient and have her notice him during her own time. He decided for the previous and cleared his throat, “O-si-yo u-na-tsi u-wo-du, hello,” (Hello Snow Beauty) his voice was clear with a slight accent that seemed to improve the longer he spent in Kawani, it amused him that his daughter Aderyn had an accent that was a mix between his and her mother’s. Now that he got her attention he was not sure what to do, it would appear to be gv-s-ga-s-da-gi (rude) if he asked her what she was looking at, so he decided to play it safe. With a smile he stated, “Lovely dawn do you not agree?”

With the sun of a new day on her back she was still wandering the woods. Most never had the patience to keep up conversation with her when they came across her. That was fine by her friends would only be there until something better came along. Mates could never last because true love was only a thing that kept creatures dreaming. She lived in the past and was stuck in her ways that it would take a great deal to move her. She was frozen in time and only the most patient of all stallions could help her. At the moment she did not need any mares for friends or she did but would not admit it. She wanted to love again but as her mind said yes her heart was still frozen over and locked.
With her head in the clouds she kept walking unknowing that someone might see her standing out in the new dawn. She longed to meet someone like herself someone who once loved but moved on. Someone who thought they knew love even though fate had them part. She longed for someone to relate to who would be by her side but she could not trust so how would that ever happen? Sighing to herself she looked up for a moment and saw something black ahead of her on the path. She saw the shape was getting closer and closer until it stopped not far from where she was standing.
Observing for a moment she made out a stallion with a dark grey body and some sort of markings all over himself. Eying him slowly she noticed he to was looking at her. What did he think she was? A monster or just a strange mare in a mask? She wanted to walk past him and leave but she found herself rooted to the spot. He was an interesting looking stallion she would give him that. After awhile she lost interest in him and stared as if looking through him hoping her would just continue on his way. Suddenly though her thoughts were disturbed by words she had never herd spoken and her head swung up and she eyed the stallion again. Had he just spoken? His voice and words were like nothing she had ever herd.
Staying silent she waits to see if he would speak again. She wanted to hear more from this stallion but for what reason she did not know. Why was he even talking to her..? Noting that he was now smiling she looked up and stared him down listening as he spoke "Night is where i fit best..The dawn only means i have made it another day..Without any idea of where i need to be or go..I have not thought dawn was lovely..In quite some time.."

His words seemed to have some sort of effect on the mare; she no longer stared intently, but then turned that masked gaze to him. Does she know what the words he spoke to her meant? It did not appear so; it was a rare occasion when he encountered someone who spoke his native tongue. Her words about dawn had his heart going out to the mare, with those few words he could sense she was suffering, “But is that not the interesting part? To awake to the day and find yourself on a new adventure my u-na-tsi u-wo-du (snow beauty)?” He returned her gaze, trying to discover the color of her eyes through the black mask, but all he could see was white on black. Adonvdo took a deep breath, his smile never wavering, he knew that the white mare before him had a story to tell, but he was not sure that he would ever be the one to hear it, “What do you think is lovely then, if not the bright shining light of the Sun Goddess Uelanuhi?”
The stallion preferred night as well, mostly because he could weave his scary ka-no-he-lv-s-gi (stories) in the appropriate setting, but he did love the beauty of the day. His memories with his daughters have helped make the dawn and the light of day a beautiful wondrous time, a time to be enjoyed.
Adonvdo Nudade bowed his head to the mysterious night loving mare whose coat glowed as white as snow, “I am Adonvdo Nudade.”

Keep her eyes on the stallion she did not know what to say. It had been quite awhile since she had a conversation with anyone but her son Titan. Mostly she would speak a few words and then push on not wanting to meet friends or make enemies. She never had anything to say most did not wish to speak to a mare with such a sad past and bleak future. Standing still as she always did still unsure about what to make of the stallion. The last time she had spoken to a stallion she fell into a love that would never last. That could not ever possibly happen again so what was the purpose of her meeting him?
Gazing at him she listen to him speak his voice still like nothing she had ever heard. "Interesting..? Nothing interests me but the spirits..My adventure has ended..nothing new has happened and will not happen.." her ears twitch when he speaks his strange language again "What are you saying..? I have never heard anyone speak like that.." she was starting to feel uncomfortable around him "Love..nothing is lovely it shocks me your are speaking to me..How is the day a thing to enjoy..? It only stands for what i will never have..The sun even fails to warm me" eying him again she goes on "No one would understand me..I fell in love and my love failed..Since then i have been broken without purpose" sighing to herself she thinks back to her family and then out of the thoughts "Love is not real you could never understand me. I tell myself i would not open to others but here i am doing just that" she shakes herself and grows cold again "I do not have a need..for a friend i am fine on my own. I am used to the dark and being rejected..Even your name sounds strange" she starts to walk again determined to keep her heart away from any that might try and take it.

Her words were a curiosity to him, spirits? Was she referring to the spirits of the ancestors or something more, something that only she could see? He noticed how at times she would appear to be staring off into space, but yet her eyes did not have the glazed look of someone who was day dreaming, “But there are spirits in every aspect of life. Many believe each living creature and even those that do not live contain with in them a life force or Adonvdo, a spirit. How do you know that nothing new will happen? Our encounter today on this dawn morning is new.” He tried again to see the eyes beneath the mask and gave an internal sigh when he was not able to see through the glowing darkness, he gave the mare a slight smile, with a slight blush to his cheeks, “When I first saw you in the distance I believed you to be snow on this fall day and it did not seem possible, when I finally met you, your coat still reminds me of the snow, so I have been calling you u-na-tsi u-wo-du or Snow Beauty in Cherokee.” He tilted his head to the side, shocked that she was surprised that he was communicating with her, “How is it a shock? Do not many others share in polite conversation?” Addy considered his words, the mare seemed to have entered a dark world and was stuck in her ways of moroseness, “There are many aspects of the day to enjoy, and just the thought of living life is enough to celebrate each day. You say that no one understands you, but have you tried to talk to them and see if they are similar to you? I myself have loved and then found that our love was not to last, but yet I still find great memories from that time. I have two wonderful daughters and a friendship that will last a lifetime. Can you not say the same thing from loving the other? Was there nothing good to come from your encounter?”
Adonvdo sighed as he watched the mare begin to walk away, he knew it would be a tedious task to get the mare to open up and accept his friendship. He could let her walk away now and never learn the name of the u-na-tsi u-wo-du and let her forever be a mystery to the storyteller or he could go after her. His curiosity for a good story and his big heart made the decision for him; the mare was suffering and he wanted to try to help her in any way, shape or form.
“U-na-tsi u-wo-du, please wait,” he, a great storyteller whose line of work was painting stories with words was at a loss of what to say, “Will you do me the honor of giving me your name?” He gave her a sly smile, “Or should I continue to call you my u-na-tsi u-wo-du?”

She sighed feeling herself being unable to hold up her cold outer shell. Was there harm in teelling another the story of her life? Was he perhaps right in his words that there were good things to come from the bad? She had promised herself she would never let another soul into her heart or her mind but she wanted to learn about this stallion. Was it wrong for her to want to let herself open to him? Tell him the things no one else knew..? her innermost thoughts and secrets? Eying him again she shook her head and muttered under her breath "i cannot believe..you are getting me to do this.." she hoped he had not heard her but slowly lifted her head and met his gaze.
"You think i am..a beauty..? i hide my face and yet..you think me beautiful?" she thought about that for a moment "You have not ran..even at my talk of spirits..and my harsh words and personality..i was trying to drive you away stallion..no one can get into my heart..or my mind" shaking her mane she keeps staring at him watching him smile she felt something stir inside her. Something was trying to come back the fire she once had but she pushed it back down again or was desperately trying to. "the more i talk to you..the more questions i have..it would be for the best..if you left.." she was frozen to her spot not wanting to admit that she did love Pavi even if she felt nothing now and he had given her the gift of sons and family.
She needed to start over but could not grasp the thought of leaving all of the past behind. "I talk to no one..the spirits are my friends..the day is only something that passes..somehow it always returns" she blinks and eyes him again "do you want to see me..? see my face what i hide under my mask..? Step closer..i do not bite or kick" she silently hopes he would step close to her she was judging him and testing him to see if he was what she she needed "You have also loved..? how were you able to move on..?" she finds herself falling even more into a trance wanting to know how much they shared "You are like me..i feel a connection.." she looks over him again and still takes in his voice "My name is what makes me myself..it is a secret..if i give you my name..you will know who i am..do you really wish to know?" she takes a step closer unable to stop herself "i trust you..i cannot explain why..i am Adalyn.."
